oshawott/hisuian samurott- otter and otter with a dark side

misdreavus/mismagius- both based on magic/ witches

chinchou/lanturn-the lures look like the light glyph

snorunt/glaile-ice glyph

tangela/tangrowth- the plant glyph is usually associated with vines

raboot/cinderace- she discovered the fire glyph while playing grudgby and thats basically the bi version of soccer

the noibat’s king btw

anne:

froakie- frog that is blue

honedge- singular sword that is blue

yanmega- drag-anne-fly and its like the giant dragonflies in the intro

morelull, dewpider, and phantump just fit the swamp environment

sashy:

cyndaquill- i wanted the three of them to have starters of different types and corresponding to their colors and i was willing to give them shinies to do so but the only currently pink shiny fire starter is chimchar and didnt want to give her one so i just combined the gen 2 shiny cyndaquill and the modern cyndaquill

doublade- duo of swords that are pink

seismatoad- theres not that many toad pokemon

tinkatuff- pink with a ponytail and its evolution has similar hair as s3 sasha and a big hammer

toxtricity- looks like her punk rock battle of the bands outfit

ceruledge- idk man it has 2 swords

marcy:

rowlet- i wanted to give them pokemon to represent each of their weapons and decidueye has a bow

quagsire- based on a giant salamander like Andrias

vivillion(garden pattern)- her battle of the bands outfit was butterfly themed and garden pattern is the the most aesthetically pleasing green one

parasect- looks like the giant mushroom buildings in newtopia, and it fits amphibia’s enviornment

bisharp- it's based on chess and marcy’s head of the chess club at school

corsola- newtopia has a lot of coral

As I said yesterday I'm going to do a new version of Rin's team (I changed one pokemon lol)

Most of the explanation are copied frome the original post

Decidueye: for the starter I choose Decidueye because owl are Rin's favorite animals (in the recent chapter you can see that when he was a child he a had a little owl plushie 🥹)

Masquerain: for the recent chapter Nomura said that Rin's eyes look like Masquerain so I decided to put it in the team for fun ahahaha

Glaile: I think Glaile looks like Rin, maybe for the ayes or for the angry expression, but I honestly think that Rin would like this Pokémon because it's kind of scary

Banette: this is the marionette Pokémon and I think it matches the Rin's title of a puppeteer

Tyranitar: from me the chapter where Rin's background is explained we can see that he was really fascinated by the monster of the cartoon/anime he watched and wanted to be like the monster, so Tyranitar, the pokemon that is inspired by godzilla, who also resambles the monster that was shown in the chapter feels perfect for Rin

Giratina: for the legendary I choose giratina because I think its behavior matches Rin's, as in they both manipulate their surroundings to their liking

Which of your OCs would be Gym Leaders and what would their specialty be? Doesn't have to be mono-type by the way.

Asking because you brought up Pokémon.

DEFINITELY THE WHITEOUT GANG (+ elliott and sylvie)

Elliott would be the first gym leader, he juzt wanted to keep his brother, emillio safe and thought being a gym leader and challenging people would make him strong enough to protect him. Also hez a rock type gym leader, and mainz carbink n boldore

Sylvie would be the second gym leader and alzo a fire type gym leader, and her team would be minior, sizzlipede and braixen. She usez pokemon battling as a bit of sress reliver and way to be out of the house for longer so leila doeznt BOTHER HER.

Kumi would be a water type gym leader and would probably be the weakest of the whiteout gamb, being the 3rd gym leader. Byt she can hold her own !!

Also her ace would be brionne and shed have a tirtouga and carvannah

Shez very comfortable not having to really go out and train her pokemon as shez content being the 3rd gym leader

The 4th gym leader would def be cache, he's very hellbent of getting stronger. hez not actually sure how he even got to 4th, hez actually kinda inexperienced. Actually very inexperienced. Nobody told him he waz the electric gym leader so he. He has a kinda paralysis based team. Or smth.

He has an inkay, elgyem and magneton as his ace, and they all have electric movez. Hez got good coverage but over than that he has. No clue what hez doin

5TH GYM LEADER JAY!!

Jay would probably be a poison type gym leader, and also kinda a bit water like kumi but. Yea. He would be kinda like kumi in a way but stronger and also kinda relying on like. Hazardz like toxic spikez

His team would be whirlipede, muk, dustox, and galarian slowbro as his ace

And he kinda just wantz to battle and learn more about pokemon and human stuff. He iz an alien after all

Bryce would be the 6th gym leader, hez only there cuz when hiz universe got destroyed he waz put there and people assumed he waz the gym leader. He iz. Very lost.

His team iz glaile, porygon z, glaceon, snover and cryoganol

7th gym leader is sierra, ofc. She'z a dark type gym leader, ofc. She usez alot of love based pokemon, she usez morgrem, absol,malamar, mimikyu and shiinotic, she kinda putz on a facade until you get to her final pokemon when you realise that she iz. Absolutely unhinged. She became a gym leader to impress boyfriend tbh

Maisy iz the 8th and strongest of the group, she sayz shez a steel type gym leader but. She doeznt use many steel pokemon. She usez...bronzong and revaroom but mostly usez other pokemon, she usez exploud, chimecho and noivern

Does mega evolution cause pokemon pain? I've seen dex entries about it but I've also been told that dex entries are innacurate so I'm not sure

In a lot of cases, yes. It can cause the pokemon pain. For Glaile, its jaw literally breaks. But for some, it helps them or doesn't do anything to them.

There is some good news though. Researchers in Kalos have made medication that completely eliminates the pain of mega evolution, mental or physical, with the only downside being that the pokemon will be a bit tired after mega evolving. So if your pokemon takes that, it can still mega evolve without any pain!

Note: Those are not for people! You could end up in the hospital if you take one! Don't take the medication!

Here's the team I ended up with! it was a bit... difficult, turns out there's not a lot of ice types in general, but I'm happy with how this turned out!

(reasoning/explanation will be behind the cut)

Since Paris has a lot of friends who're ice-type trainers/have ice types, I tried to limit myself to one overlapping Pokemon.. I also tried to take into account Paris' living situation, since as much as he'd love a Cetitan, he really does not have the space for a 14 foot tall land whale.

Firstly- Weavile! This Weavile would be a stand-in for Lotus in a way, while also being a counterpart to Lumi's Sneasel. Idk I just thought it would be sweet :]

A lot of these are mostly vibes- but Glaile is there to draw a parallel to his rival, who has a Froslass... again, I really just thought it'd be sweet lol.

Sandslash, Mamoswine, Esicue, and Dewgong are mostly just due to vibes, but I did try to get one more Sinnoh Pokemon into his team (Mamoswine) since he was born in Sinnoh. Guess that kind of makes Mamoswine a stand-in for his starter Pokemon.

I actually really like this team lol, might save it for later! Who knows lol.

Grumpig, Spoink, and Cottonee are the first few that come to mind. At least, they’re the first few that are in his disconnected-from-the-grid pokédex. They’re not strange ones for the world as a whole. They are strange for Kanto. He thinks maybe they were brought over when whatever happened, happened. Then? There are other pokémon that started showing up like miniature legends.

There’s a Weedle variant up here he doesn���t want anyone touching. It’s a Ghost type, and it’s evolutions are incredibly touch, likely because of the rock types in the area. There’s a Growlithe variant he’s seen around the summit as well, a cold stone color with white tufts of fur. Chimecho and Chingling have roosted in the shrines he’s cobbled together, and Misdreavous is perfectly at home here. Snorunt and Glaile are common visitors.

There are also Geigeroaches. Those? He doesn’t try and stand them. They’re rare, but they’re in the mines, little frightening creatures. In the mines there are Millisteel, long steel type pokémon that feed on the exposed mineral veins in the earth. And below that? Slugma have started waking up. It’s ominous, for sure.

There are more, certainly, but these are the ones at the top of the device.

Why that one? I mean yeah pokemon can miss their trainers but first off most the Pokemon in Pokemon Go are wild, and 2 I'm not sure Glaile knows much more than how to make that face
