@cyanspica the way people ship lams (generally) is hetero coded lol they really nerf one into an owo baby. you scare away the heterosexuals so that’s my theory (note: i am pro lams when they are both allowed to be feral)
sorry this turned out a lot more rambling and off-topic than i had anticipated, so it's getting its own post instead of 300 replies on the original post
i haven't read enough lams to confirm or deny this (but to be fair, what i have read? yeah. probably true.) but i will admit that it was a doomed ship for me from the get go lol not only are my two general modes of ship 'weird mentor worship' or 'mutual disrespect', i also come to this fandom from the 'everything i know about the american revolutionary war i had to learn against my will' side of things (so no, your letters unfortunately mean nothing to me babes 😔) and even though i was lucky enough to watch the proshot first and not having to live with an audio recording and two shitty bootlegs for years, lams somehow still didn't clock as something to be shipped in anything but a platonic way... (that being said, i recently listened to the recording and i wouldn't have become so feral about jamilton with only that either)
i think it really comes down to what you expect or want from a ship, too; the lams i've read was all very 'they could make each other better :-)' when what i personally want is for them* to make each other worse LOL
(* not necessarily about lams only, but the way *i* sail my ships is usually that - and that's one failing for some jamilton fics for me, too: i ship them not as an 'enemies to lovers' type situation. they'll always be 'mutual disrespect' girlies to me <3 the moment one of them goes 'uwu babe i wuv u; neither of us has tried to bite the other's ankles for 4 chapters now and im loving it' i'm out.)
anyway i guess the tl;dr is none of the lams i've read so far made me want to sit down and binge 150k of it in one go on a day off, and maybe that energy comes across
