Hi Andy, I was wondering if heteronormativity can be applied pertaining to misunderstanding of asexuality? I was trying to tell one of my friends I'm asexual and he kept on making comments like you're really attractive any guy would want to jump you. I cringed and tried to explain that some people just don't want to have sex and that's ok. And he said that's a lack of hormones. I gave up at that point but I'm just wondering if heteronormativity can be generally applied to cases like these.

in a form, yeah… cause since we were kids, a lot of us have been taught by the society that we will find the person of our dreams, and that they’re out there and we will be irrevocably attracted to them in every sense and when it won’t happen, the same society tells you that you just need to wait to the right person and when you try to explain it isn’t about the person and it’s about you and that it’s okay and you’re happy with that, they don’t understand cause that’s not your “natural role in life” and well that’s basically the pinnacle of the heteronormativity.

So the tumblr update: yeah things look blurry and stuff got distorted. I’m bummed out that my stuff now looks weird but there’s nothing I can do. It’s a new update and new updates almost never work 100% the way they’re supposed to when they come out.
