No, Charlie is a sweetheart. She'd just help if you were lost. She'd comfort you if you were upset, invite you to stay at the hotel, and patch you up of your hurt. There's no reason to be scared of her unless you're a terrible human.

No, Vaggie probably won't do anything. She's not gonna hurt you if you're not a threat to the hotel. If you are then your dead.

Kind of. Angel is very strong, yes, but he only attacks in self-defense now. He's probably just gonna insult your apprence. So, not really. He might make you cry, though.

Yes. Not gonna lie. Niffty is terrifying. She's not the most avressive, but her aggression is just so unpredictable, which is scarier.

Do you think Eggers could put a good horror-romance spin on Carmilla? I know it's a thin material due to being a novella, but it doesn't have to be followed to the T or anything.

I don't think it's the flavor Eggers is used to. Carmilla absolutely needs some teeth and terror in it, but it's also significantly more plush in its romantic elements. Even the soft and intimate moments in Nosferatu have a coarse edge to them--which works!--but I think Carmilla and Laura's story needs to have something that leans into 'nightmare, but make it artful.' Something that looks like Goblin's Suspiria soundtrack feels.

I'm not sure who the perfect director is for that. Mike Flanagan is an easy pick since he's done horror and queer relationships very well so far. But I also want the overblown bloody theatrics of the Hannibal series and The Hunger (1983) thrown in there. Maybe Guillermo del Toro? If nothing else he'd give it a full dedicated gothic romance eye candy treatment.

Alastor // I like the homoromantic hc and also being French-Haitian Creole is a headcanon - he is Creole and Indigenous but it is not very specific. I also like the agender headcanon.

Vox // I love the popular headcanon that he is trans and Vox is so Latino to me and him being Mexican is a tribute to a good friend.

Angel Dust // Tried to base him more off of 40s drag - and him being aro is a tribute to my boyfriend.

Husk // I headcanon him as Afro-Dominican and being demipan is a fun headcanon I got from my boyfriend!

Charlie // No headcanons for her other than the snake and the goat!

Vaggie // I believe it was confirmed somewhere in the past that Vaggie was El Salvadorian coded, so I kept it! And gave her muscles.

Carmilla // I love the idea of sapphic demigirl Carmilla. She gives me a strong vibe of that - also, her being Latina-Asian is a tribute to another friend of mine. I heard somewhere her form was a dragon so I based her off of a Chinese dragon a bit. The Xs on her legs were half hazard and I dislike them now.

Niffty // I know Niffty is Japanese and found a lovely reference of a kimono from the 50s (assuming because of the poodle skirt. I also wanted her to resemble a mantis a bit.
