just gonna post this bc i could never come up with a spirally background i liked & i dont want this to die in my saves folder

that annoying moment when getting left for dead in the trunk of a car in your 20s comes back to haunt you 40 years later (take a shot every time ford says “stanley”)

#kingdom hearts#kh#kh kairi#kh xion#kh namine#i don't really feel proud of my own stuff usually but#i really think this is the drawing i'm most proud of from this past year!! it made me think 'oh maybe i can draw' haha#i'm still kinda bad with colors but something clicked with this one. and i feel like i got the sentimental feeling i wanted!#ooh but this project's about flower symbolism so ramble incoming:#protea symbolizes resilience transformation and diversity; hollyhock means 'please remember me.'#so my general theme was finding a sense of self.#these 3 have struggled with finding their own identity; they tend to get left behind both in-universe and in general plotwise#and naminé and xion both resemble kairi and were overshadowed by her memory. but i feel like all 3 have transformed into their own people#xion and naminé have their faces covered partially by hollyhock to show their wish to be remembered for who they are-#instead of the parts that they share with someone else#and the protea bouquets show how they each held on and resiliently grew into their own person despite it all#i put a little swervy path on the hill behind kairi to give that hopeful sense of growth and moving forward. it's a little hard to see#hopefully that makes sense! i really love symbolism but i think in visuals so i'm really bad with words#but gosh working with everyone on this project was so fun. it was like impossible not to get swept up by the team's hype for this zine#i need to hunt down everybody's work and rb it#ohh and everybody's flowers are so crisply drawn it's insane!! i think if i lined all these flowers and leaves i'd die haha#fan art#my art#project stuff

I'm still not completely happy with how I draw Thad but I'm getting there slowly, incredibly slowly. Same with Kon, he's not there yet but he's much closer. and I swear that isn't the usual outfit I draw him in, I swear I can do better ToT
Mindless rambles about my struggles with designs aside I've been trying to post more, mainly to get me back in the habit of drawing, but I am working on a larger, not large, but larger project that may or may not have to do with a Young Justice 98 and FNAF mash up and one of the characters is absolutely fucking me over. So I'm just doing easy drawings until my brain agrees with my arms enough to actually draw what I want to draw. I don't think these drawings are things I'll put on the Internet because they are just random drawings, but I'll probably share them to the YJ98 discord server. but I personally think this is a fun AU I am currently making and it will be forced on the world soon, kicking and screaming.

You know, Caster Gilgamesh really likes Ritsuka, doesn't he. And I mean really really.
It's kinda low-key (of course it is, it's fucking CasGil), but when I had this epiphany I went back to some scenes with him and. Huh. It's true.
He sees himself as a guide for humanity. Hell, he's the one who kickstarted the Age of Man. And Ritsuka turned out to be the kind of human he likes.
Of course, Ritsuka is a completely ordinary, unremarkable human, having lived on peaceful times. No exploits, no breakthroughs in any field. Also definitely subpar as a mage. You'd think Gilgamesh would see them as nothing more than an ant, maybe even less.
Even so, it was Ritsuka who stood up on times of hardship and decided to fight. It's Ritsuka who refused to give up, Singularity after Singularity and Lostbelt after Lostbelt. It's Ritsuka who continues to pick themselves up and run, defying gods and Beasts and whatever the world throws their way. It's Ritsuka who carries the flag of humanity now.
And I think CasGil appreciates that a lot. Rather than leaning on the exploits of great figures, he thinks that Ritsuka's struggle holds far more meaning. If even the most ordinary person can stand up and achieve impossible things, then isn't that the perfect proof of the Human Order's value? Isn't that the perfect rebuttal against the fate imposed by the gods?
It makes me think of his Valentine's Day scene, actually. Instead of a physical gift like Archer Gil, CasGil chose a boat tour throughout Uruk, a city that houses plenty of memories for both him and Ritsuka. I wonder if he acknowledges that Uruk lives within them, too.
