the kitchen was quiet except for the occasional clatter of a spoon against a bowl and the hum of the fridge. you were leaning against the counter, scrolling absentmindedly through your phone when chris walked in, a mischievous grin already spreading across his face.

"what're you up to, baby?" he asked, his voice playful as he wandered over, resting his hands on either side of your hips.

"nothing important," you murmured, glancing up at him. the warmth in his blue eyes made your heart flutter every time.

he tilted his head, pretending to study you. "you've been standing here looking way too cute for too long." before you could respond, his hands wrapped around your waist, and in one swift motion, he lifted you onto the counter.

"chris!" you squeaked, though the laughter bubbling up in your chest betrayed your attempt to sound serious.

"what?" he teased, settling himself between your legs as his hands slid up to hold your waist. "is it a crime to want to admire my beautiful girlfriend up close?"

before you could come up with a witty reply, he leaned in, peppering kisses all over your face. your cheeks, your forehead, your nose - no spot was spared.

"stop!" you giggled, trying to twist away from him, but he wasn't having it.

"never," he murmured between kisses, the sound of his soft laughter mixing with yours. the happiness in the room felt tangible, like it was wrapping itself around the both of you.

when he finally slowed, he rested his forehead against yours, his hands framing your face gently. your giggles quieted as his gaze softened, turning from playful to something deeper.

"i love you so much, baby," he murmured, his voice barely above a whisper.

you felt the words settle in your chest, heavy and warm, as the world seemed to shrink until it was just the two of you.

"i love you too, chris," you whispered back, threading your fingers through his messy hair.

his lips curved into a soft smile— nothing like his usual cocky grin. it was tender, vulnerable, and entirely yours. he leaned in again, pressing one slow, lingering kiss to your lips before pulling away just enough to rest his head on your shoulder.

"you make me so happy," he muttered, his voice muffled against your neck."i love you too, chris," you murmured, reaching up to tangle your fingers in his messy hair.

his lips curved into a smile, one that was entirely different from his usual cocky grin. it was soft and full of pure adoration, reserved only for you.

he pressed one last kiss to your lips— slow and sweet-before pulling back just enough to rest his head on your shoulder. "you make me so happy," he muttered, his voice muffled against your neck.

"you're such a sap," you teased softly, though your tone carried more affection than mockery, while your fingers gently traced gentle patterns on his back.

he pulled back, his grin reappearing, that familiar glint of mischief back in his eyes. "only for you, angel," he murmured, brushing his nose against yours.

a/n: hellooo, i decided to restart my account so i’m in the progress of reposting all of my work at 2am! anyway enjoy :,)

the party was in full swing, music pounding through the house like a second heartbeat. you stood in the corner, nursing a drink you didn’t even like, something fruity mixed with god knows what, and wishing you’d stayed home with your book instead of letting phoebe talk you into coming. she’d insisted it would be “good for you” to get out and have fun, but now she was in the bathroom, leaving you to fend off strangers and awkward conversations alone.

when she finally reappeared, relief washed over you, until you realized she wasn’t alone. trailing behind her were three guys, all tall, with strikingly similar features. triplets, you realized quickly.

“this is nick, matt, and chris,” phoebe introduced casually, like you weren’t standing in front of one of the most recognizable influencer groups.

“hi,” you said with a polite smile, barely meeting their eyes.

“wait a second,” the one in the beanie—chris—said, his lips curving into a teasing grin. “aren’t you that girl from that netflix show?”

you blinked at him, caught off guard by the playful tone. “uh, i guess? if you mean stranger things, then yeah.”

“knew it,” he said, snapping his fingers in mock triumph. “max mayfield in the flesh. wow, i never thought i’d be rubbing elbows with a big hollywood star.” his grin widened, and he leaned against the wall like he was trying way too hard to look cool.

you rolled your eyes, but a laugh escaped before you could stop it. “you’re being dramatic. i’m not that big of a deal.”

“you’re kidding, right?” nick chimed in, nudging chris. “he’s literally obsessed with the show. we’ve heard about you a hundred times.”

“nick,” chris hissed, his face turning pink as he shot his brother a glare.

“oh, really?” you asked, raising an eyebrow at him, your lips twitching with amusement.

“okay, ignore him. he’s exaggerating,” chris muttered, running a hand through his hair. but the tips of his ears were burning red, and the way he avoided your gaze only made you more suspicious.

phoebe smirked, clearly entertained. “looks like someone’s been caught.”

“whatever,” chris shot back, his playful confidence faltering for a moment before he met your gaze again. “i’m just saying, it’s cool to meet you. you’re a big deal. no shame in admitting it.”

you couldn’t help but smile at his awkward recovery, a warmth blooming in your chest that hadn’t been there earlier. “thanks. it’s nice to meet you too.”

“so,” he said, the grin creeping back onto his face, “what’s a famous actress doing in the corner of a party like this?”

“hating every second of it,” you replied dryly, earning a laugh from him.

“then let me make it better,” he said, his voice dropping into something softer, more genuine. “stick with me, and i promise i’ll keep it interesting.”

and for the first time that night, you didn’t feel so out of place.

you stood a few steps back, camera in hand, framing matt against the late afternoon sun. the golden light softened the edges of everything it touched—his denim jacket, the rolled-up sleeves revealing his forearms, and the faint curve of his jaw as he glanced down at his boots. he shifted, clearly unsure of what to do with his hands, and the small, endearing motion made you grin.

“relax,” you called, adjusting the camera slightly. “you look great. just be yourself.”

matt glanced up at you, his lips twitching into something between a smile and a grimace. “this is me relaxed,” he muttered, his voice low and sheepish.

his laugh was soft, but the sound carried, warm and familiar. he tried to hide it by looking away, the tips of his ears flushing a light pink. you couldn’t resist teasing him. “if that’s you relaxed, you’re one step away from becoming a statue.”

“come on,” you coaxed, tilting your head as you adjusted the focus. “give me something real. i don’t know… maybe that look you give when you’re pretending not to be embarrassed.”

his head shot up, his eyes narrowing at you in mock offense. “i don’t have a look,” he said, his tone defensive but playful.

“oh, you definitely have a look,” you shot back, your finger poised over the shutter. “you’re doing it right now, by the way.”

he sighed, dragging a hand through his hair. “you’re the worst.”

“and yet, here you are,” you replied without missing a beat, snapping a shot just as he shook his head, a small, exasperated smile breaking through.

matt groaned softly, rubbing the back of his neck as his blush deepened. “you’re lucky i agreed to this,” he said, glancing at you from under his lashes.

“lucky? please,” you teased, lowering the camera for a moment. “you’ll thank me when this post gets a million likes. everyone’s gonna lose their minds over you.”

he rolled his eyes, but the corner of his mouth quirked up again, betraying him. “yeah, sure. it’s definitely not your photography skills they’ll be complimenting.”

“oh, absolutely not,” you said, smirking. “it’ll all be about how good you look. and, matt,”—you paused dramatically, clicking the shutter again—“you look really, really good.”

his blush deepened so fast you almost felt bad. almost. he ducked his head, a shy laugh escaping him as he mumbled, “stop. seriously.”

“why? you’re cute when you’re flustered,” you replied, stepping closer now.

his hands found the edge of his jacket, his fingers fiddling with the fabric. “you’re impossible, you know that?”

“and yet, here you are,” you echoed, lifting the camera for one last shot. this time, he looked directly at you, his smile soft but genuine, the kind of smile that always made your chest feel just a little too tight.

“perfect,” you murmured as you lowered the camera, unable to keep from smiling back.

“yeah?” he asked, his voice quiet, almost hopeful.

“yeah,” you said, meeting his gaze. “but i think it’s less about the photo and more about you.”

he groaned again, covering his face with one hand, but you could see the smile beneath it, the way his shoulders shook with a quiet laugh.

“you’re impossible,” he said again, but there was no mistaking the affection in his tone.
