Vint Glade Headcanons!
Whatâs up, Fellow Frye fans (alliterations <3), im back from the dead with some Vint Glade HCs! Please enjoy <3
He grew up in a rich family
His parents didn't really love each other, the love being more one-sided (his mother loving his father deeply and his father just somewhat liking her), which gave him a very warped idea of how relationships âshould beâ, and how healthy relationships can be
He lives in a decently-sized home that his parents actually bought. They were going to sell it off but he convinced them not to so he could live in itÂ
He doesn't understand that people can't choose who they love. He instead believes you can change who you love, and that gives him comfort (because it lets him think he can convince his crushes to be attracted to him)
This isn't a headcanon, but Vint had better chemistry with Mike Bolton than that girl did, don't @ meâ
#Vint glade#man to man#man to man (1930)#dwight frye#1930s movies#headcanon#Gay?#I don't actually ship Mike and Vint btw#I just thought they low-key had chemistry#Maybe you could write some silly enemies to lovers even though they weren't really enemies?#Maybe co-workers-to-lovers?#Idk#I'm tripping đ#also Mike had no chemistry with that main girl whose name I have forgotten#It looked so fake#It was actually so goofy tho#P.s. If anyone owns Vint Glade photos I need them bc I can't find any that are that good of quality

As Brave As You Are (Newt x Reader) - A Maze Runner Story
As Brave As You Are (Newt x Reader) Reader Insert: she/her pronouns Word Count: 12,051 Warnings: death, bloody wounds, fighting, mental and physical torture, guns, suicidal thoughts and actions Spoilers: no spoilers because the books and films came out ages ago
After helping Newt recover from his ankle injury, Y/N and Newt formed an unbreakable bond that always had them looking out for each other. When they escaped the Maze, then navigated the Scorch, they always had each otherâs back. It isnât until Y/N is captured alongside Minho by WCKD and Newt contracts the Flare that he realises how he truly feels about Y/N.
Problem is, will he rescue her in time to tell her?
Note: I'm back in my dystopian future era thanks to the new Hunger Games film so of course I had to write for my original YA crush. This piece is based on the movie series mainly. Don't get mad at me, I love the books more, but I can appreciate the storylines that came out of the path they took with the films. And if there is one thing the TMR fandom can agree on, it is that the film cast was the best cast ever for the series. So enjoy - not sorry that it's horrendously long, Newt deserves it xx
âMedjack! Medjack, now!â
Y/N recognised it was Minho was calling for help. Clint and Jeff ran out of the med hut to see what all the commotion was. It wasnât long before they were hurrying back inside, carrying Newt of all people between them, Minho and Alby in tow.
âClear the table,â Clint ordered, and Y/N quickly followed through, practically throwing off containers, bowls and medical instruments to get Newt on there as quick as possible. Once Newt was up, Y/N finally noticed the unnatural twist in his ankle and it almost sent Frypanâs sloppy sweet potato soup right back up.Â
She was still pretty new to her job as a Medjack, being the greenie and all. She was the only girl in the Glade of the current twelve residents, so she was intimidated at first as to what role she could play in the place. Medjack seemed the most suitable, and she seemed to have a knack for it, having stitched up some eyebrows and cleaned up knee scrapes with ease and precision.Â
But even though sheâd seen blood, dealt with displaced bones and joints, she still got queasy doing her job. It didnât help that Newt was hissing through clenched teeth from the intense pain, an occasional sob passing through.
âWhat happened?â Y/N asked.
âI donât know,â Minho said. âWe split up for only five minutes. I thought we could cover more ground that way. And weâve run that part of the Maze like a hundred times already. I thought weâd be fineâŚâ
Clint held Newt down as Jeff and Y/N took a look at Newtâs ankle. Jeff only pressed gently with his fingers around the bone, but Newtâs responding howls confirmed the severity of the injury.
âThe bone is completely shattered,â Jeff said grimly. âWeâre going to need to reset his foot first though. Y/N?â
âOn it.â She rushed to a shelf that held bandages, then to a cupboard with flat boards about shin length. She grabbed two of those before heading back to the table.
âYouâre going to have to hold him down,â Y/N directed at Alby and Minho, gesturing to follow Clintâs efforts. Then she turned to Newt, whose face was slicked with tears and sweat as he continued to writhe in pain. âNewt. Newt, can you open your eyes for me? I need you to focus on me.â
To his credit, Newt opened his eyes and he didnât look away from her.Â
âGood. Good, Newt,â she said. âNow, we have to realign your foot. Itâs going to hurt a lot. Weâll go on three, okay?â
In the short time Y/N had known Newt â which arguably was no time at all, as he ran every day and she was in the Medjack hut all day. They didnât interact unless he or another runner got hurt, or at dinner if only to say hello. Even so, she had come to know he liked it plain and straight, no bullshit. So, despite his pain, he took two deep, calming breaths and gave her a nod to say he was ready for what they had to do.
Y/N nodded back, then looked to the others, who had their hands braced on all Newtâs limbs. âReady?â she asked, to which they nodded in reply. Y/N gently held Newtâs ankle, eliciting a quiet whimper from the boy. âOkay, on three. One, twoâŚâ She cut herself off as she slammed her hands either side the ankle bone, causing a loud cracking sound as the ankle snapped back into place.Â
Newtâs wail of pain mustâve been heard from across the whole Glade it was so loud. He writhed and pulled to sit up, but the boys held him down as Y/N and Jeff bandaged the two splints either side of Newtâs ankle. Jeff then dabbed a small dose of chloroform in a cloth and pressed it to Newtâs nose. Soon enough, the boy was unconscious, finally pain-free.
âYou guys go have dinner,â Y/N said to Clint and Jeff a little while later as they were cleaning up the hut. Alby and Minho had left soon after Newt fell asleep, but it was almost dinner time now. âIâll stay with Newt tonight.â
âYou sure?â Clint asked. âWe can do shifts if youâd prefer.â
Y/N shook her head. âI insist. You guys rest up. I can do this. Consider this my final test to becoming a fully-fledged Medjack.â
Jeff chuckled. âYou have much more to learn, Greenie, but suit yourself.â
âWeâll bring you back some food, Y/N,â Clint said as he and Jeff left the hut, leaving Y/N to idly clean up.
Newt woke up from a dull throbbing in his ankle, which turned into a harsh pain, causing him to sit up in alarm.Â
âHey, itâs okay, itâs okay,â a voice gently said as equally gentle hands pushed him back down.
âMy ankle,â he said, voice hoarse and dry. âIt hurtsâŚâ
The face of the voice finally came into view: it was the Greenie. Y/N offered him a small smile as he finally recognised her. In one hand, she held a needle with clear serum. Her other she offered to his leg. âMay I? Itâll help, I promise.â
He hesitated for a moment, but the intense pain in his ankle broke his composure as he eagerly nodded. The painkiller worked immediately, and Newt sighed with relief as the throbbing eased significantly.
âThere,â Y/N said, wiping the needle. âThat should help for a bit. Sadly, we donât have much left for me to give you more than once a day, but Iâm hoping you wonât need it beyond the end of the month.â
Confusion clouded Newtâs mind as he tried to process her words. âWhat⌠What happened?â But he answered his own question as images of the Maze flashed through his mind, and he remembered it all. How he bid farewell to Minho. How he climbed as high as he could along the Maze walls. How easy it was to let go.Â
Then the pain fully encompassed him, and then it was just a blur. How Minho found him. How Clint and Jeff laid him on the table he realised he was still on. How angry and embarrassed he felt having his friends see him broken and miserable.Â
Newt managed to pull himself into a sitting position, propping a pillow behind him to cushion the hut wall. âHow bad is it?â he asked glumly, eyes unable to lift from his injury.
He couldnât be bothered with pleasantries. He was too tired, and, frankly, saw no point in keeping up appearances anymore.Â
To her credit, Y/N seemed to pick up on his mood, saying, âIt will heal to a point youâll be able to walk again. But it wonât ever heal properly.â
âYou mean Iâll have a limp?â
âPotentially.â
âSo I canât be a Runner anymore?â Y/N didnât reply, finally drawing Newtâs attention away from the source of his pain and to her.Â
Newt had only interacted with Y/N on a few occasions. Mainly at mealtimes or the odd occasion he passed her by on the way back from a run, only talking as much as greeting and farewelling one another. As the only girl so far, of course he found her intriguing, but he never had time nor a reason to get to know her.
And while heâd come to think of her as the quiet and gentle Medjack in comparison to Clint and Jeff, he didnât see an ounce of pity on her face as she looked at him. Only quiet contemplation, as if there could be any other answer but no to his question.
âI guess thatâs up to you and Alby,â she finally said. âI mean, I know what I should say is no. Iâm sure Clint and Jeff will say no. But itâll more so come down to if you want to go back in or not.â Her eyes flickered to his ankle, sadness glazing her eyes briefly before returning to him. âBut I think I can take a guess as to what your answer will be.â
Newtâs gut twisted with guilt and shame that sheâd figured it out, and his face flushed with embarrassment and anger. âSo, you going to tell everyone?â he asked, words thick  with hopelessness. âI mean, thatâs your job, right? Diagnose me, then tell Alby, then the whole glade how pathetic I am?â
Y/N shook her head. âI think you give me too much credit. Iâm not an actual doctor, you know,â she said, coming to stand beside him. She inspected his ankle for a moment, then turned her gaze to him, and it shocked him to see such intensity in her eyes. It was as if suddenly he was the most interesting person in the world.
âI can say it was a running accident,â she finally concluded. âYou can tell your truth when youâre ready. Itâs not my place to take away hope when the others are so full of it right now. That includes me.â
He stared, stunned, as she packed up the last of her things by a spare medical cot at the other end of the hut. It wasnât until she let out a loud yawn that Newt noticed it was dark outside. The silence of the Glade told him everyone else had gone to bed so it was late. Or early, he couldnât really tell.
Y/N fluffed a sad excuse of a pillow and put it on the cot. âNow that I know youâre alive, are you going to be okay if I get a few minutes shut eye? I can stay up if youâd like.â
Now that the initial shock and embarrassment of the dayâs events had subsided, Newt realised how exhausted he was still. âNo, thatâs okay,â he said. âI think I should rest a bit more anyway.â
Y/N nodded and swung her legs up to lie down fully. Newt went to slide himself and his pillow back down to do the same when Y/N spoke again.
âAnd Newt?â she said, her voice soft and almost hesitant.
âYeah?â he called back.
She was silent for so long Newt thought sheâd gone to sleep. But then she spoke. âFor the record, I donât think youâre pathetic. For wanting it all to end, that is. I actually think what you did was really brave. You might be scared and maybe out of hope, but at least you did something about it. The rest of us can only hope to be as brave as you.â
Newtâs breath caught in his chest as it swelled with a mix of emotions. Brave? What he did was the act of a coward. Tears streamed silently down his face, both from a deep shame, but also a warmth he hadnât felt in a long time.
The rest of us can only hope to be as brave as youâŚ
Newt had lost all hope after a year of searching for a way out and finding nothing. But she didnât know that, and neither will the next Greenie, or the Greenie after that. Even some of the boys already in the Glade didnât know that. Thatâs why they waited every day for the runners â for him â to come back with news, with a shred of hope that theyâd get out of there soon.Â
Newt twisted himself so he could see Y/N, who was rolled away from him, her body rising and falling with the rhythm of sleep. Even if he thought it would all be hopeless in the end, some truly believed they would get out of here.
And maybe that was something worth fighting for.
~
Two years on and Newt and Y/N had managed to forge something akin to a friendship.Â
Y/N had kept her word and said Newt had had a running accident, and heâd agreed with her for the sake of his worried friends. Y/N had also been right about his ankle; it healed to point where he could walk and do a decent jog with a limp. But he would never run again.Â
He was transferred to work as a Track-Hoe in the gardens with Zart. But it wasnât all bad. As more boys arrived â never any girls much to their confusion â Newt developed a knack for leading others, for diffusing hard situations, and for wrangling the boys into line. Because of that, he was promoted to Albyâs second-in-command, which gave him more meaningful work to do than just the gardens â stuff that might actually get him and the other Gladers out of the bloody Maze.Â
It also meant he had more time to talk to Y/N. He would make sure to drop by once a day (and not just at mealtimes) to check in on her. For a time, he convinced himself he did that because it was his job as second-in-command to keep up group morale, and he would visit everyone in the Glade. Eventually, however, he realised it was because he genuinely enjoyed her company.
Since that night, Y/N had come out of her shell more. Still a little shy and apprehensive at times, but she would openly joke and play along with the boysâ antics. She was more confident in her work as a Medjack too, not afraid to boss Clint and Jeff around if she needed something from them.
Newtâs visits became longer, as they talked about any and all things. Aside from Alby and Minho, Newt considered Y/N one of his closest friends. And she mustâve felt the same â or at least in a similar fashion â as she entertained his thoughts about life beyond the Maze, and the rants he would go on thanks to whichever stupid shank put the fertiliser in the wrong place.
It was a friendship built on mutual respect and genuine care for one another, something that helped Newt convince Y/N to come with him and the others when they finally decided to leave the Maze. But he couldnât help but feel a deep dread and guilt as he waited behind Thomas, knowing that Grievers were right around the corner.
While the others caught up, Newt turned to Y/N â whoâd been helping him through the Maze with his limp â and offered her a spare spear heâd been carrying.
Her eyes widened at his offering. âI canât take that. I canât fight.â
âWell, you canât just go in there without something to protect yourself,â he said, this time forcibly handing the spear over. Y/N clutched the spear awkwardly, and Newt saw the uncertainty in her eyes, in her trembling hands.
Newt felt bad for making her hold such a violent weapon. All her hands had ever done were help people, save them at times. Now he was asking her to kill. It was for the greater good they both knew, but to kill, nonetheless.
Newt placed a comforting hand on her shoulder and locked eyes with her. âHey,â he said softly, âyou stay with me the whole time, do you understand? I promise you wonât have to use that unless absolute necessary.â
Y/N bit her lip to stop it trembling too, but she nodded, steeling herself in preparation for the fight ahead. Newt reciprocated the action and gave her shoulder a final squeeze before turning to face Thomas as he explained the plan.
They fought the Grievers, taking down a few while some of them took down Gladers. The Gladers were backed against the door that Teresa and Chuck were trying to open with a code. Minho shouted numbers at them as he, Newt, and the others fended off one last Griever.
Before he could finish, Minho was caught by a Griever, and Clint ran out to save him. But the Grieverâs tail caught him, sending him over the edge of the walkway they fought on with one flick.
âClint!â
Before Newt could stop her, Y/N rushed out from behind him, spear drawn back and flying at the Griever in seconds. Not being a fighter to begin with, let alone a good one, the spear bounced off its metal leg without much effect. It did, however, alert the Griever to her presence, turning all its attention to her. Minho leapt to his feet, finally free, and ran back to the group. âY/N!â he cried as he ran. âRun!â
Y/N seemed to finally realise her situation, looking up at the Griever frozen with fear. The horrible creature raised its claw to end her, but Newt moved faster.Â
He ran as fast as he could, limp be damned, past Y/N and threw his spear at the Grieverâs head. It landed true, puncturing one of the creatureâs bulbous eyes, drawing a painful screech from it. Newt didnât wait to see what it would do next, as he grabbed one of Y/Nâs arms and Minho grabbed the other and ran back to the group, practically throwing her behind the front line and against the door.Â
Teresa finally got the door open and the Gladers tumbled in, Thomas throwing one last spear down the Grieverâs throat as the doors closed.Â
Lights flickered on to show they were in some empty room with a door on the wall behind them leading to a corridor.
Thomas looked at the group, taking heavy breaths. âEveryone okay?â
âWhatâs left of us, that is,â Winston said, his tone sad and regretful.Â
As Newt eyed the group, he noted how many theyâd lost, how little their group seemed all of a sudden.Â
Minho stepped ahead with Thomas, pointing towards the door. âWell? Itâs not going to open itself.â
As Minho and Thomas led the group to the exit, Newt turned to Y/N, whose eyes had a distant look glazed over them. âWhat were you thinking?â he asked, bringing her attention to him. âI told you to stay behind me. You couldâve been killed.â
âI-I know. Iâm sorry,â she stuttered out, tears teetering in her E/C eyes. âI just⌠Clint⌠It all happened so fast, and I was just kind of moving before I knew what I was doing.â She looked down at her hands then, and Newt noticed a slight tremble to them. âI thought I could help, but I was too slow. And I put you guys in danger too. Iâm just⌠Iâm sorry.â
Newtâs guilt came back full force then. He placed a gentle hand over her trembling one, grasping her fingers to stop their shaking. When she looked up at him confused, he just said, âIâm sorry. I shouldnât have pressured you into thinking you had to fight. You wonât ever hold a weapon like that again. I promise.â
Y/N opened her mouth to object no doubt, but Newt cut her off. âBut you have to promise me something back. Promise me that youâll let us protect you. You can help by keeping us alive, just like you always have. But youâve got to listen to me, you got it?â
He used his authoritative voice this time, and it seemed to work as Y/N calmed down, her unshed tears now gone.
âOkay,â she said, quiet but strong. âI promise.â
Newt nodded. âGood that.â He turned to see the others leaving through the door then turned back to Y/N. âDo you think weâd be lucky enough not to face anything else beyond those doors.â
âI think we should consider ourselves lucky for getting this far.â To her credit, Y/N managed a small smile as she looked up at him. âBut why should our luck run out now?â
There it was again; the glimmer of hope Newt had felt from her since the night he injured his ankle. Newt couldnât deny that theyâd made it this far â by design or by luck, theyâd made it.Â
And who was he to deny that things might be on the look up for them now?
Together, Y/N and Newt followed the rest of the Gladers to meet their makers.
~
âI never thought Iâd say this⌠but I miss the Glade.â
The group around the fire grew silent at the implication Frypanâs words had, the memories they conjured up. Y/N couldnât help but agree as she looked into the dark sky above her, peaking from behind the crumbling pillars they took refuge under.Â
The sky was always so clear back in the Glade, she recalled silently. But, just like their current situation, the sky was now obscured.Â
The people who rescued them from the Maze were actually WCKD â the people whoâd put them in the Maze in the first place. The past twelve hours had seen herself, Newt, Thomas, Minho, Frypan, Winston, and a boy named Aris find Teresa, break out of the facility, and enter the deadly Scorch. In their search for supplies, theyâd been attacked by crazed, infected people, driving the group to hide where they were.
The Maze was dangerous, but it was familiar and the only home Y/N recalled ever having. Out in the Scorch, safety wasnât guaranteed.Â
She looked to Winston, who laid back, his shirt pulled up to expose the bloody bandage sheâd wrapped his torso in. Y/N tried not to think about the infected scratch marks underneath, and more specifically what gave them to him. The Grievers were one thing, but the things that attacked them? They used to be people.
Not wanting to sit in her thoughts anymore, Y/N stood up, brushed off her pants, and grabbed knife from their pile of weapons theyâd found in the abandoned mall. âIâll take first watch.âÂ
She didnât wait to hear if anyone objected, already walking around the stone that covered them so she was on top. To her relief, the others let her go without argument, putting out the fire and quickly settling down to sleep.
After half an hour, Y/N decided to get up and patrol around the area, knife tightly gripped in her hand and her footsteps quiet despite the sand.Â
There was so much of it,  the sand. The lady in white â Doctor Ava Paige â had said in her video that the whole world was just desert now. The thought made Y/N yearn for the Glade even more. For the grass, and the woods, and the bonfires they used to have, and the games they played. The boys â Clint, Jeff, Alby, Gally, Chuck.Â
Y/N wasnât a hateful person, but she clutched the knife tighter at the thought of all the loss theyâd all suffered at the hands of WCKD.Â
Itâs why she didnât hesitate to follow Newt when heâd found her in her room â for some reason, she hadnât been allowed to stay with the other girls from the other mazes just yet. Itâs why they were now braving the Scorch searching for people that Thomas didnât know even existed. They wanted a better life out from under WCKDâs thumb.
The crunch of sand had her whirling around, awkwardly poising the knife as if to attack, but she relaxed at the familiar person standing there.
Newt raised his hands in mock surrender. âWhoa there,â he said, the quirk of a smile on his lips telling her he was just joking. âYou could do some real damage if youâre not careful.â
Y/N blew out in relief, the knife dropping to her side again. âThanks, but we both know thatâs not the case, Newt.â
Newt shoved his hands in his jacket pocket, shrugging his shoulders as he did. âI donât know, Iâve seen you with a scalpel. Absolutely terrifyingly precise with that thing.â
Y/N chuckled softly, appreciative of the distraction. But her smile dropped as she looked out into the dark cityscape. The moon hid behind clouds so Y/N couldnât make out anything. âIs it pathetic that Iâm scared to see what the world has become?â she asked, not daring to raise her voice above a soft mumble.
Newt stepped up beside her, his body radiating the last remnants of heat from the fire and it warmed her slightly. âSomeone once told me that I was brave for facing my fear,â he said after some quiet contemplation.Â
Y/N looked up at him confused, but he looked down at her with a knowing, smug smile. Much to her chagrin, she couldnât help but chuckle and shake her head at him. âI donât recall saying that specifically. But if thatâs how you saw it, who am I to tell you that wasnât what I meant?â
Newt hummed in agreement looking back out at the dark expanse, contemplation scrunching his brows together. âIâll be honest with you, Iâm scared too.â
That surprised Y/N. Newt, second-in-command, casual, leader Newt was scared? âYou are?â
Newt nodded. âIâm scared that weâve made a mistake. That Thomas is wrong and there arenât any mountain people.â He turned back to Y/N, the most serious sheâd ever seen him. âIâm scared weâre going to lose more of us, and then what was our escape for? But⌠itâs not my place to take away hope when the others are so full of it. Including myself.â Finally, Newtâs smile returned, and it warmed that cold pit of despair Y/N had been falling into ever since they left the WCKD facility. âOr, at least, I think thatâs what someone very wise once told me.â
Y/N stared at him, awestruck. Hopeful. Newt was hopeful again. And she didnât want to read into it, but she thought the knowing smile he was giving her told her that she had something to do with it. The thought alone strengthened her resolve, and she looked down at the knife in her hands, less afraid of it all of a sudden.
Y/N held it out to Newt. âTeach me.â
He raised an eyebrow in a silent question. âWhat?â
âTeach me. How to fight,â Y/N explained, eyes unwavering from his.Â
Concern flashed across Newtâs face for a brief moment. âY/N, I told you, you donât have to fight if you donât want to.â
âIf there is one thing Iâve come to know about WCKD is that it doesnât actually matter what I want anymore. What any of us want,â Y/N said, feeling the most certain sheâs felt in a long time. âThe one thing we have on WCKD is that we are defiant. We escaped, and are taking away the one thing they want most of all: a chance to find a cure. So, if weâre going to have any hopes of making it to the mountains alive, Iâm going to have to know how to fight. So please â teach me.â
Newt contemplated her for a moment, and Y/N just prayed he wouldnât say no. Or even worse, laugh. Instead of doing either, he took the knife from Y/Nâs hand, his fingers brushing across her palm as he did.Â
âAll right,â he said, moving his feet apart to get into a fighting stance. âFirst of all, youâve got to have a wide-ish stance, and stay light on your toes so you can control when you back away from your opponent.âÂ
He demonstrated the movement by quickly shuffling away, always keeping his feet a certain distance apart and the knife gripped tight by his hip. ââŚand when you go into attack.â He moved so fast Y/N didnât see his footwork, her eyes locked on his as they bored into hers, knife poised at her neck as if heâd strike.
He stepped away and gave her the knife back. âYou think you can do that?â
Y/N nodded and took the knife, and for the next hour Newt taught Y/N basic blocks and manoeuvres that heâd picked up from Thomas and Minho and just from basic instinct. Just like sheâd been with her Medjack skills, Y/N was a quick study, performing move after move when Newt asked her to.Â
She impressed herself. For a natural pacifist, she wielded the knife quite fluently.
They decided to finish the session on a quick sparring match. Newt took a swipe at Y/N, and she stepped back just like Newt had taught her. She then rushed in for an attack, to which Newt threw up his own knife in time to block. Y/N anticipated the pushback and twisted out of Newtâs way as he stumbled slightly forward. While he was disorientated, Y/N gripped his wrist that controlled his knife and pointed her own into his back.Â
âLooks like I win,â she said, breathless but proud.
Y/N didnât like the carefree scoff he gave her, followed by, âAre you sure?â
She doubted herself for a moment, loosening her grip enough for him to twist out of her reach, knock her knife away and bend to sweep her legs out from underneath her. Y/N landed hard, groaning at the pain in her butt as Newt looked down at her and laughed.Â
âIâm glad you find my pain amusing, Newt,â she grumbled, rubbing her sore behind.
Newt laughed for a moment longer then calmed down. But his radiant smile remained on his face, brightening the darkness surrounding them. âIâm sorry, love,â he said between remaining chuckles. To his credit, he held out his hand in an offer to help her up. âBut the surprise on your face was priceless.â
Y/N contemplated his hand for a moment, whether she should just push it away or take it. Instead, an idea came to mind, and she gripped his hand tightly then pulled him to the ground with her. He landed on his stomach beside her, getting a face full of sand.
Y/N let out a loud laugh before quickly covering her mouth to stifle the relentless laughter that wished to burst from her.Â
Newt spat and coughed out sand as he made to sit up. âWell,â he started, spitting out more sand as he looked up at Y/N, âI shouldâve seen that coming.â
That just made Y/N laugh even harder, using now both hands to quieten the giggles. Goodness, when was the last time sheâd laughed this freely? When was the last time sheâd felt such joy? After everything theyâd been through, Y/N was worried sheâd forgotten what was like to laugh.
When sheâd calmed down, she looked down to see Newt propped up on his arms looking up at her with an odd expression on his face. Like he was in awe, maybe. Whatever it was, it made Y/N acknowledge how handsome Newt had become. His baby features had faded since sheâd first met him, being replaced by a lean figure and a toned jawline from working in the gardens every day for two years. And with his big brown eyes, tousled blond hair and funny accent, Y/N wondered how he had changed so much without her realising it. How she hadnât realised heâd grown up.
The intensity with which he looked at her brought a heated blush to her face, and so she turned away into the cool night breeze, willing the blush to cool down. Newt shuffled to sit up next to her. They didnât speak for a minute, until Newt suddenly stood up.Â
âWell, um,â he started, and for the first time since Y/N had known him, he sounded uncertain about what to say. âI better let you continue with your shift. At least you know how to defend yourself now.â
Y/N hastily stood up as well, making sure there was at least a step between them. âYes!â she said. âThank you for that. Iâll be sure to practice.â
âGood that.âÂ
They looked at each other for a moment, and even though Newt said he was leaving, he made no move to leave. Maybe he doesnât want to, she thought, and the mere possibility of that being true warmed her heart.
But he took a step away, gave her a shy smile and a small wave farewell. âGoodnight, Y/N.â
âGoodnight Newt,â she said, those two words hanging in the air long after heâd left.
As she finally woke Frypan up for his shift, she clung to the knife and went through all the manoeuvres Newt had taught her until she fell asleep.Â
Newt was unable to sleep until Y/N woke Frypan up to take the next watch shift, and laid down to sleep herself. Newt opened his eyes to see Y/N laying across the pit theyâd dug out for the fire. She faced him on her side, and Newt noticed with curiosity that she held the knife sheâd practiced with close to her chest. Her chest rose and fell rhythmically, and paired with her heavy breathing, Newt figured she was completely asleep.Â
An odd sensation fluttered in his chest and stomach as Newt considered Y/Nâs sleeping face. It was the same feeling that had fizzled in his chest when heâd looked up at her as she laughed. He couldnât remember the last time any of them had laughed as freely as she had.Â
And he couldnât help but admire how beautiful she looked doing so â hiding her bright smile behind trembling hands, eyes narrowed but sparkling with joy.Â
All because of him.
He rolled onto his back then, not wanting to give the thought anymore weight. Thereâs no point getting your hopes up, he reminded himself. But like a moth drawn to flame, Newt couldnât help but tilt his head to gaze upon her peacefully sleeping. An ache carved itself deep in his heart. How had he not realised her growing up, changing? Being the only girl for a long time, of course he and the others found her pretty. But now that he looked at her â really looked at her, and wasnât concerned with his life for just a split second â he realised just how beautiful she was.Â
It was in her features, but also in her determination to be better for the group. It both hurt and impressed him when she asked for his help. He promised her she would never have to fight again, but things have changed drastically since the Maze.
It was in her ability to still find the joy in things, to still be able to laugh despite their situation.
It was how she believed in Thomas, in Aris, in the mountain people, even if she was scared.Â
âThe rest of us can only wish to be as brave as you,â he whispered into the night, a silent promise that heâd tell her that sometime.Â
And with the fluttering in his chest finally easing into a calm warmth, he finally fell asleep.
~
Everything exploded with chaos as Y/N, Newt, Thomas, and Minho navigated their way through the Right Arm camp as guns fired and explosions went off.Â
Teresa had betrayed them. Y/N couldnât believe it when it was revealed in front of everyone, and she still couldnât believe it as Minho pushed her head down, sheltering her from another explosion. Teresa truly believed WCKD could find a cure, but still at the expanse of Y/N and her friendsâ pain. And just when Thomas was going to blow them all sky high, Jorge and Brenda had come in like a saving grace, and thatâs when all hell broke loose.
âThis way!â Thomas yelled over the din, beckoning them behind a weapons container.
However, Minho stopped suddenly and picked up a launcher. Keep going!â Minho called over his shoulder as he shot at WCKD soldiers around him. âIâm right behind you!â
Thomas and Newt reached the container, but Y/N stopped and turned at the sound of a painful cry. âMinho!â she cried as her friend fell, his body convulsing from a launcher shot.Â
âY/N, no!â Newt called after her, but she was already running back to Minho, grabbing at his jacket to drag him to safety.Â
But Y/N was not strong like the boys, and certainly not strong enough to move Minho in any hurry. She looked up just in time to see a launcher fire at her, then her body felt like it was on fire.Â
She was sure she was screaming, but she couldnât hear anything as the electricity struck every nerve with a vicious bite. After what felt like an eternity of pain, she was granted a moment of peace as her vision went white, then in a flash was swamped by darkness.
Newtâs heart stopped when he saw Y/N shot. She convulsed as Minho had, then collapsed beside their friend unconscious. The second Y/N hit the ground, Newt found his voice again, feelings of anger and desperation clawing their way through every vein in him.
âY/N, no!â His cry came out broken as he made to run to her, but a strong hand gripped the back of his jacket and pulled him back.Â
âNo, boys,â Vince shouted over the din, holding both Newt and Thomas back.Â
âLet me go!â Newt protested, struggling against Vince, eyes darting between him and Y/N. âI need to help her! Y/N!â
But WCKD soldiers were already picking up Y/N and Minhoâs unconscious bodies, dragging their feet through the red dirt and into a berg.
âIâm sorry, son,â Vince said, and Newt thought he sounded genuine. But that didnât stop icy terror gripping tight on his heart as the doors began to close on Y/N, Minho, and other immunes from the Right Arm.
Thomas called for Minho, and Newt called for Y/N, but neither could do anything to help their friends as they were flown away. Back in WCKDâs clutches once again.
When the sun rose, the remaining survivors came out of hiding and began scrounging up supplies. They were moving on, Vince claiming there was nothing they could do but keep going with who and what they had left.
Newt couldnât accept that, and neither could Thomas apparently, as he claimed he was going after Minho, Y/N and the others. Without hesitation or any further explanation, Newt was the first to sign up and join him.
And so, they went on a quest to rescuing Minho, Y/N, and as many immunes as possible. The train hijack was a huge success with immune numbers, but no Minho and no Y/N. Even so, Newt refused to accept that heâd never see either of them again. Even when they almost got killed by cranks. Even when he, Thomas, Brenda, Frypan, and Jorge were almost blown up by turret guns.
Even when he found out he was infected with the Flare.
He could feel it, his mind slowly slipping away as the Flare ate away at his sanity. He was usually level-headed and rational â itâs part of the reason he became second-in-command in the first place. Guilt and shame ate away at him as he sat on the rooftop of their hideout in the outskirts of the Last City, explaining to Thomas why he just bit his head off about being in love with Teresa.
Not that Iâm one to talk, he thought as he rolled down as his sleeve, silence wrapping around him and Thomas comfortably. Newt could feel Thomas didnât know what to say, and Newt didnât like long silences so he broke it.
âThe crazy thing, though isâŚâ Newt started, a soft but sad scoff escaping him, âIâm not scared of dying. I used to be, back in the Maze. Because it felt like my friends were dying for no reason, without purpose. ButâŚâ Newt looked over his shoulder, past Thomas, and to the peaking spires of the Last City. To where Y/N was being held somewhere.
âI have something to die for now,â Newt said, eyes never wavering from the spires.
Thomas came to sit beside Newt, a sad realisation drawing his brows and lips down. âYouâre not just talking about Minho, are you?â he asked.
It was how gentle and matter-of-fact Thomas spoke that had Newtâs chest tightening with fear and an immense pressure heâd been scared, until now, to acknowledge. His throat threatened to close on him as he spoke, rendering his words tight and uncontrolled. âI failed to protect her, Tommy,â he managed to get out. âI promised Iâd always protect her, and I didnât.âÂ
It surprised Newt how simultaneously hard and easy it was to speak about his feelings, and now that he had started, the words just flowed.Â
âSheâs just always been there, so I never saw it coming,â Newt continued, a melancholic smile adorning his lips as he recalls the day he met you, how you helped him with his ankle. How, since then, youâve always been by his side, growing with him, changing with him, supporting him and everyone else around you.Â
âSaw what?â Thomas asked.
âI never saw that I could have a future after the Maze, after all of this,â Newt explained. âThat I would want a future⌠with Y/N.â And with that, his tears finally spilled over, the pressure in his chest bursting into sobs that wracked his whole body. Newt was vaguely aware that Thomas was now holding him, and so he wrapped his arms tight around his friend, around his brother.
âI love her, Tommy,â Newt whispered over Thomasâ shoulder, his words obscured somewhat by his tears and holding back sobs. âAnd Iâm scared Iâll never be able to tell her before I go.â
âHey,â Thomas said, pushing Newt to armâs length. He kept one hand on Newtâs shoulder and used his other to grip Newtâs neck, forcing their eyes to lock. âWeâre going to find her â and Minho, and the other immunes. Weâre going to get you that serum that helps with the Flare â as much of it as possible â and youâre going to tell her. Youâre not dying. No one is dying. You hear me?â
No one could replace Alby, but the way Thomas was taking control of the situation reminded Newt of his old friend. How kind yet stern he could be. How hopeful yet pragmatic he was. It was something familiar that Newt was thankful for. He quickly calmed down, wiped away his tears and nodded at Thomas.
âGood that,â Thomas said, a small proud smile gracing his lips at his use of Newtâs common phrase.Â
Newt couldnât help a chuckle as well. âGood that, indeed,â he agreed, and followed Thomas back inside the hideout to finalise their plan to get into the WCKD facility.
âŚand youâre going to tell her. Youâre not dying.Â
There was a nagging voice in the back of Newtâs head that was telling him not to believe Thomas. That Newt was going to die, or worse, turn into a crank and hurt his loved ones. That voice had followed him from the Maze, to the Scorch, and now the Last City. It was the voice that had driven him over the edge of the Maze walls all those years ago. But not anymore.
Newt had to keep hope, just as Y/N had taught him. He just had to be brave.
~
Y/N sat in the corner of her white-walled cell, hugging her knees to her chest as she rested her head on top. Sheâd sat there for hours, perhaps days. Y/N lost track of time after her first month in WCKDâs facility.Â
There were no windows, and the lights never dimmed. She pressed her eyes into her knees in the hopes of downing out the incessant white light. Her eyes ached with sleep deprivation, but she refused to sleep. The nightmares were much worse to deal with, and they always came whenever she closed her eyes.
Images of her friends dying in the Maze and the Scorch, of Grievers chasing her, of her friends turning into cranks and attacking her. Images fed to her by WCKD.Â
She knew they werenât real, but she could never wake herself up in time to escape them. So, she stayed awake, knowing that sheâll have no choice but to face her nightmares when the doctors and scientists come to test on her again.
Y/N shivered at the thought of seeing another needle, of seeing her blood drained from her while WCKD turned her mind against her. When will it be enough? She mightâve lost track of time, but Y/N knew sheâd been in the facility for a while now. If they hadnât found anything by now, something told Y/N that nothing she gave would ever be enough. That included her life.
She knew Thomas and Newt would be dumb enough to come after her and Minho â thatâs just the kind of people they were. Her heart ached at the thought that their efforts would be in vain.Â
Y/N hadnât seen Minho since they arrived, having been separated from each other and the other immunes. Something about how they were the most promising subjects, she overheard from a scientist one time. Y/N didnât know if Minho was alive, and if he was, what condition he was in.Â
But Minho was strong, the strongest of all the Gladers in Y/Nâs opinion. If he was being tortured like her, he would be able to hold on. Y/N highly doubted she would last much longer.
The rest of us can only hope to be as brave as youâŚ
Y/N wasnât sure if Newt knew she was actually awake that first night in the Scorch, but sheâd heard him, his words so soft she thought sheâd dreamt it at first. But it had been real; Newt thought she was brave.
She was too dehydrated to produce tears, but an ugly sob desperately tried to escape her aching chest. She bit her lips instead, hard enough to draw a little blood, and the sob died out, leaving her body quiet except for her mind.
Iâm sorry Newt, but I am not brave.
Even so, Y/N refused to crumble to WCKD anymore. Theyâd taken everything from her. Her life, her memories, her loved ones, her friends. Even her hope â something she so naively believed no one could take from her. They would not take her dignity.
She raised her head at the sound of her cell door unlocking, blinking a few times as bright light flooded her vision once more. Two WCKD soldiers and two scientists stood by the door, and Y/N spied a gurney just behind them.Â
One of the scientists â young male, maybe in his early twenties â stepped forward. âTime for more testing, Y/N,â he said in a cold tone. But he had the sense to look sympathetic as his eyes roamed over Y/N as she stood up, showing how pale her S/C skin had become, how dark the circles beneath her eyes were, how the cargo pants and grey t-shirt hung off her in areas where she used to fill.
Y/N knew it was useless, but still she ran for the door, pushing past the scientists with ease despite her weakened state. However, she hit the soldiers like a brick wall, unable to fight against them as they restrained her arms and pressed her against the wall. The male scientist recovered quickly and injected her with a serum that made her drowsy enough that she wasnât in control of her body. She was conscious as the soldiers strapped her to the gurney and the four of them wheeled her down corridor after corridor, and all she could do was watch fluorescent lights pass her by as she stared at the ceiling.Â
Soon enough, she was in a familiar room: the test lab.Â
âIt hasnât been that long since we last tested her,â the other scientist â a female, about the same age as her co-worker â said, her words laced with worry. âWe put her under again, we risk losing her for good this time.â
âI didnât make the call,â the male said as he continued to set up equipment around Y/N. âWhen Janson says he wants a cure, I donât question him. Do you?â
The female didnât answer, switching her focus to helping her co-worker. Y/N could slowly feel the serum wearing off â it was obviously only a light dose, the scientists knowing theyâd put her under when they began testing.Â
But just as they unstrapped her to move her to the nightmare simulator, the room shook, sending Y/N rolling to the ground as glass and steel broke around her.Â
Sounds were muffled briefly and her vision blurred in and out of focus. She couldnât hear what exactly the soldiers were shouting, but she saw them run out of the room alongside other soldiers. That just left her and the scientists.Â
Y/N flexed her fingers, the serum completely wearing off. Before she could stand though, two hands roughly grabbed her arms and hauled her to her feet. âCome on, Y/N,â the male scientist said, pushing her towards the machine. âJust one more trip underâŚâ
Fear electrified Y/Nâs every nerve. No, not again. With a desperate cry, she shoved the male into the utensils table, sending him and the tools scattering across the ground. Before he could get up, Y/N straddled his upper body and slammed his arms into the ground.
âGet off me!â he yelled, struggling violently beneath Y/N. He managed to twist them both around until she was the one pinned to the ground. Y/N struggled but to no avail. She was significantly weaker than she was when she was first captured and he knew that.
âYou little brat,â he spat in her face. âUngrateful, selfish immunes. Your duty is to save us all! Youââ
He was cut off when he suddenly went slack, falling unconscious on top of Y/N. She scrambled out from underneath him, then looked up from the floor to find the female scientist with a syringe in her hand. She looked between her unconscious co-worker then Y/N, a scared and disbelieving expression morphing her delicate features.Â
âGo,â the scientist finally said, her voice shaky, but the resolve in her eyes told Y/N that she wouldnât chase after her. The room â no, the whole building â shook again, and when Y/N looked out the window, she realised why.
The city outside was on fire. Buildings crumbled, and Y/n could hear the screams and cries of civilians through the broken windows. The scientist wouldnât chase her because there was no point.Â
This was the end.
âGo!â The scientist insisted, and Y/N didnât think twice. She picked herself up, ignoring the cuts and scraps of glass it caused her, and ran out of the room.
She ran into the corridor, ignoring the cries of soldiers and other scientists who recognised her as a subject. She didnât know where she was going, but this was the most freedom sheâd had in forever.
Then a thought came to her â Minho. She had to find him, he surely had to be alive. She would run through every floor if she had to to find him. So she ran, looking into every test lab, every storage closest, every break room on the floor.Â
âMinho!â she cried, uncaring at this point if someone heard her. She just wanted to find him. She didnât want to die without a familiar face with her. âMinho, where are you?â
She rounded a corner, right into the chest of a WCKD soldier. He was caught by surprise, giving Y/N an opportunity to slam him into the wall. It was like her fear was giving her a boost of strength, as she kneed him in the groin, sending him to the ground. He dropped the pistol he was holding, and she quickly picked it up and smacked the butt over the back of his head. He fell to the floor in one last scuffle and laid unmoving as Y/N sucked in deep breaths.
âY/N?â
She whirled around at the familiar call of her name, only to find three other people had entered the corridor. Thomas, Minho, and Newt. Her eyes scanned over them all, heart aching with an intense relief it threatened to crush her chest. âGuys?â Her voice was hoarse with disuse and exhaustion. She was surprised she even had a voice after all her screaming.
Newt stepped forward, a relieved smile gracing his lips. âYeah, love,â he said, sounding on the verge of tears. âItâs us.â
Y/Nâs first instinct was to run into his arms, the only place sheâd felt since leaving the Maze. But she took a closer look at him. He was paler than when she last saw him, almost sickly with how dark the circles under his eyes were. Crank.
She pointed the pistol at her friends, causing them to raise their hands in shock. âWhoa, Y/N, itâs us!â Thomas exclaimed.
âNo,â she said, her voice cracking ever so slightly. âHow do I know Iâm not in that simulator again? How do I know this isnât just another test, another trial?â
âWhat are you talking about, Y/N?â Newt asked, worry crinkling his brow.Â
âShe doesnât trust her mind,â Minho said, as if in explanation. âBoy, they really did a number on herâŚâ
âShut up!â Y/N unlocked the safety and pointed the gun at Minho. âYouâre just trying to trick me. Make me think everything is all right. But itâs just a lie. Youâre not here. Youâre not hereâŚâ
Newt stepped into the firing line. âWe are here, love. I promise, weâre really here.â
âNewtâŚâ Thomas warned, but Newt remained, eyes locked on Y/Nâs.
Y/N couldnât look away from Newt. He sounded so genuine, so much more real than previous simulations. But WCKD couldnât be trusted, and they were wearing soldier uniformsâŚ
Her hands shook but her voice was strong. âProve it,â she said. âTell me something only the real Newt would know.â
Newt swallowed thickly. âOkay, um⌠You cut yourself when you tried out being a Slicer and had to have Clint and Jeff fix you up. Thatâs when you thought being a Medjack would be a good idea.â
âWCKD was watching us the whole time. They wouldâve seen that,â she countered, using both hands to grip the gun.Â
âOkay, okay,â Newt said, looking away a moment to think of something else. When he finally looked back at her, he was calm once more, eyes genuine and sincere. âHow about how I jumped off the walls of the Maze in an attempt to kill myself?â
The world around the four of them seemed to freeze, as if the world wasnât collapsing outside. To Y/Nâs knowledge, Newt had never told anyone the truth of what happened that day. It was the shocked and tragic expressions on both Minho and Thomasâ faces respectively that had Y/N loosening her grip on the gun slightly.
Newt took a small step closer, eyes never straying from her. âI had lost all hope of getting out of that bloody maze. So I did the one thing I could do to control the situation. But I failed.â He stepped closer again. âI was embarrassed, ashamed. I was just a coward. But you healed me and told me something I will never forget. I have held onto it like a lifeline through the Maze, through the Scorch, and all the time I was looking for you.â
He took one final step towards her, unfazed at how the gun pressed hard against his chest. Now that he was so close, Y/N saw just how sick he was. He looked like the early stage victims of the Flare theyâd seen in the decrepit city theyâd lost Brenda and Thomas in temporarily. And while Y/N refused to believe Newt â her beloved, sweet Newt â was infected, his eyes were the same as always. Open, honest, and truthful.
âThe rest of us can only hope to be as brave as you.â
It wasnât the fact that he knew the exact words â again, WCKD had cameras everywhere in that Maze, they wouldâve heard it. It was instead the emotion tied to the words. She felt them, felt the lifeline theyâd created for him in his darkest moment. He wasnât lying, and that meant he was real.
Finally, she allowed the sob to break free as she dropped the gun and threw her arms around Newtâs neck. He breathed out in relief, bringing her closer to his chest, face pressed into her H/C hair.
âItâs really you,â she whimpered, grasping tighter to the person sheâs always been able to rely on. The person who has always protected her and brought out the best in her. Her closest friend, her safety net, her home.Â
âIt is, love,â he said into her hair, breathing her in deeply. âIâm sorry I couldnât protect you before.â
âItâs okay,â she said, pulling away to look up at him then to the other two. âI canât believe you came after us.â
âI know right,â Minho said, punching Thomasâ arm lightly. âDumb shanks.â
âYou can berate us later,â Thomas said, rubbing his arm. âRight now, weâve got to get out of here before Lawrence brings down the whole city.â
Y/N went to ask what he meant but gripped onto Newt instead as the building shook again.
âCome on, letâs go,â Newt said, grabbing Y/Nâs hand with one hand, and holding a launcher in the other. Together, the four of them ran to escape WCKD once and for all.
~
âBrenda!â
Y/N didnât care about the rain of bullets and walls of fire around her as she ran for the berg. After hearing Teresaâs broadcast, she needed to get the cure back to Newt fast. Leaving him was one of the hardest things she has had to do. He wasnât in great condition, but Thomas insisted that heâd take care of Newt. But the medicine Thomas had given Brenda all those months ago didnât just buy her time, it had cured her completely. It could do the same for Newt.
If she could make it in time.
âBrenda!â Y/N cried as she spotted her friend. âThe cure! I need the cure!â
Brenda understood, immediately retrieving one of the extra capsules Mary had made from Thomasâ blood before WCKD raided the camp. âHere,â she said, passing over the injector.Â
âThanks!â Y/N said, already sprinting back into the war zone before anyone could stop her.Â
She could feel it, the exhaustion, the strain she was putting her body under. Underfed and under trained, she was struggling. But she refused to stop. Newt had come all this way to find her, risked his life to get her out of WCKDâs clutches when he couldâve been administered the temporary cure and been safe on the berg already. No, Y/N refused to let him die without trying.
Minho, Brenda, Frypan, and Gally â Y/N was still shocked about that revelation, but that was for another time to discuss - followed around her, covering her with guns and other weapons as they ran through the war zone.
After an eternity of running, the group rounded a corner to find a sight that made Y/N feel like she was back in the nightmare simulator. Newt was leaning over Thomas with a knife aimed at his chest.
âNewt, no!â Y/N cried, running towards the two boys without thought.Â
Newt faced her at the call of his name, and she froze as she saw his black eyes. Dark veins branched over his skin and black blood dribbled from his chin. He was a full-blown crank now.Â
He raced at her, snarling as he swung the knife at her throat. She ducked just in time and rolled away as he slammed the knife down where her neck was. She quickly jumped to her feet, and despite her fatigue, muscle memory took over her legs, then her hands. That first night in the Scorch came to mind, how her and Newt sparred. The injector was her knife, and Newt her proper opponent.
âNewt, itâs me,â she said, slipping into her Medjack demeanour â calm and steady. âItâs Y/N. Please, snap out of it for a moment so I can help you.â
She thought he would run at her again, but his brows crinkled with concern and he looked at the knife in his shaky hands. He looked back at her, and the voice he spoke with broke her heart. It was a mixture of his sweet accent and a gargled croak where blood clogged his throat.Â
âY/NâŚâ he started. âRun away⌠Before⌠Before I kill you.â
The scene reminded her of the time he came in with his injured ankle. How desperate he was to fade into nothing because he was scared and ashamed of what heâd done. But just like then, she refused to be scared of him.Â
Y/N shook her head. âIâm not leaving you, Newt,â she said. âNone of us will.â
Newt seemed to realise there were more people than just her and Thomas, turning around to see the others. The sight of them seemed to distress him, though, as he snarled angrily and charged at her. She shuffled back as he swung at her again and again, but as she stepped back again, she tripped on something. She fell onto her back, knocking the air out of her lungs. Before she could gather herself up, Newt was on her, straddling her similar to how he had Thomas pinned before. Newt raised the knife to bring down on her but was tackled by Thomas.
They rolled for a little, then scrambled to their feet as they fought once more. This was Y/Nâs only chance. She pushed herself up and ran for the boys, injector at the ready. Newt was bringing the knife forward in a wide arc that would gut Thomas when Y/N threw herself in between them, slamming the injector into Newtâs arm.
Right as his drove the knife into her stomach.
âY/N!âÂ
She wasnât sure who called her name, because all she could focus on was Newt as some of the blackness in his eyes cleared and she saw some of his gorgeous brown eyes. She also felt her body finally giving up. As if it knew that this was the end. After all the torture and pain, she had stayed alive so long for one reason. To save Newt â the boy who had been there from the start. So much so she hadnât realised until he wasnât there how much he meant to her. How heâd wormed his way into her heart and consumed it without her even knowing.Â
She gripped his hand that held the knife in her stomach, unfurled his fingers from the handle, and brought them to her chest where her heart was slowly slowing down. Her weak legs gave out, and she brought Newt down to his knees with her. She couldâve been imagining things, but she swore she saw recognition in his half-black eyes which made her smile as tears finally fell from her eyes.
âItâs okay, Newt,â she whispered. âItâs okay because⌠I love you.â
Her vision blurred and she finally let go of Newt as the both of them collapsed to the ground. Her breaths were short and sharp as the pain made itself known. A rush of feet thumped around her, and she had the slightest awareness that someone was moving her, but she didnât care. She was finally at peace as darkness, at last, consumed her.
~
Y/N woke to the sound of waves rolling over on sand. The first thing she saw was grey canvas, then rolled her head around to see she was lying on a cot in a small tent with tables and medical supplies similar to how her Medjack hut looked. But she wasnât alone.
âOh my God.â Brendaâs face came into focus as the girl crouched by Y/Nâs cot, disbelief and relief morphing her gentle features. âYouâre awake! Youâre finally awake!â
âOw,â Y/N clasped at her head at the sudden loudness. âCould you lower your voice please?â
âYes, right, sorry,â Brenda said, but her lips split in a bright smile as she helped Y/N sit up. âIâm just so happy youâre okay.â
âWhat happened?â Y/N asked, all she remembered was being stabbed then falling unconscious. She pulled up her fresh linen shirt to see her wound bandaged. âI thought I was done for.â
âSo did all of us,â Brenda admitted, her tone sombre as she pulled up a seat beside the cot. âWe got you to the berg as quickly as possible and Vince got you stable, but you just werenât waking up. Itâs been a week.â
âA week?â Y/N made to get up but sat back down as her wound pulled in an unpleasant way.
âWhoa, where do you think youâre going?â Brenda asked stabilising Y/N back in her bed. âYouâve just come out of a coma induced by physical and mental torture. Not to mention you were stabbed.â
âIâm fine. Trust me, Iâm trained⌠somewhat,â Y/N said, this time able to swing her legs over the side of her cot. Brenda didnât try and stop her, but she did have to help Y/N when she stood. âNow, where is Newt?â Brenda didnât answer right away, and tears threatened to pool in Y/Nâs eyes at what her silence could mean. âBrenda⌠Is he⌠Is he alive?â
Brenda, again, didnât answer, and her face didnât give anything away either. Instead, she just held back the flap of the tent and motioned for Y/N to exit. Y/N took cautious steps forward as she followed Brenda into a completely new place that had her staring in awe.
It was a bustling camp where sleeping quarters and other spaces were mapped out by canvas strung up on carved wood pillars and posts. Y/N spied a kitchen area where she swore she heard Frypan laughing with some others.Â
There was a gathering area where a giant stone stood in front of the seats. There were names carved into it, like what they used to do in the Glade. Y/N tried to make out if a certain blondeâs name was on it. She caught familiar names like Alby and Chuck, Clint and Jeff.Â
âY/N?âÂ
She swung around to find Brenda smiling as she was joined by Thomas, Minho, and Jorge. The three of them ran at her, arms wide open to capture her in a hug.
âYou crazy shank, Minho said, laughter on his lips. âLook who finally decided to join the living again.â
âAnd here I thought I was the lazy slinthead for sleeping for so long,â Thomas said jokingly, pulling Y/N in for another hug. âIâm so relieved.â
âWelcome back, hermana,â Jorge said, a warm smile gracing his lips as he gave her a comforting pat on the shoulder.
âGood to be back,â Y/N replied, smiling at the three males. âWhat happened after I thought Iâd died?â
Thomas went to reply, but Minho cut in. âWeâll explain later. Right now, I think you should go say hi to someone else.â
Confused, Y/N followed Minhoâs gaze to Brenda, who stood atop a hill and was staring over the other side of it. Y/N quickly reached Brendaâs position and followed her gaze to a large garden that people were working on. But her breath caught at the sight of a familiar blond at the edge of the gardens talking and pointing in all directions to people.
âHey, Newt!â Brenda called out, causing the blond to turn around and look up. At first, he saw Brenda, but his gaze soon fell on Y/N and his whole face changed into disbelief.
With the other gardeners forgotten, he started climbing up the hill, and Y/N couldnât wait another moment so she started walking down the hill.Â
They met in the middle, with Y/N standing at Newtâs height on the uphill. Neither said anything to begin with, both in disbelief and awe at who stood in front of them. Y/N looked over Newt, noting he still looked pale and somewhat sickly. But the dark veins were gone, as was the black blood and his black eyes. And the sun shone so brightly that his hair looked golden. It was as if he was never infected to begin with.
With a shaky hand, she reached out to rest her hand over his beating heart. âYouâre alive,â she whispered, too scared to voice it too loudly in case this was also another nightmare.Â
But he proved her doubts wrong as he rested his own hand on top of hers. âI am,â he said, and the usual warmth of his voice truly convinced her he was real.Â
His face pinched suddenly with concern and guilt. âIâm so sorry, Y/N,â he said, his hand tightening slightly over hers. âI hurt you. I almostâŚâ
âItâs okay,â she interrupted, using her free hand to cradle is cheek and keep his eyes on her. âYou didnât. I am here, too. Looks like we both saved each other.â
To her relief Newt smiled. It was a genuine, happy smile, something she hadnât seen on him in a long time. He nuzzled into her hand briefly, before bringing it down with his free hand so he held her hands between them.Â
âBefore I passed out,â he started, âI remember you saying something.â
âOh.â A blush heated upon her cheeks, but she refused to look away from him. âRight. I did say something.â
She was trying to play it cool, but as soon as his deep brown eyes fixed on her, she knew he could see right through her. But he didnât smile smugly, he didnât tease. He actually looked scared as his jaw clenched, fighting to find the next words to speak.Â
âYou said you love me,â he finally said, words tight but hopeful. âIs that true?â
Y/Nâs mouth dried up suddenly, constricted by all the things she wished to say but couldnât say all at once. Itâs not like she was scared, she just never thought she would live long enough to have a future, let alone one with love. One with Newt.
But she had â she had survived WCKDâs cruelty, she had survived the terrors of the old world, she had survived when so many of her friends hadnât. And it was her duty to live her gift of a life to the fullest.
âYes,â she finally said, and it was like breathing in fresh air after being underground for so long. âI love you, Newt. I donât know when or how it happened, but I do. I love you.âÂ
There was a second of hesitation, but then Newt broke out into a wide smile, and Y/N swore she saw tears brim in his eyes. He suddenly reached one hand up to cradle her neck as he pulled Y/N in for a sweet kiss that simultaneously knocked the air out of her and breathed new life into her. He held her neck and hip, and she pressed her hands against his chest, satisfied to feel his heart thundering beneath her hands. The heart that almost never beat again, the heart that had saved her over and over again.Â
The kiss was short but was no less breath-taking, and when they pulled apart neither could stop the smiles on their faces.Â
âI love you, too,â Newt said. âIf that wasnât already obvious.â
Y/N threw her head back in a hearty laugh. She slung her arms around Newtâs neck, a cheeky grin dancing across her lips. âIâm not so sure. Maybe we could try that again to make sure?â
âCheeky bugger,â he murmured as he pressed his lips to hers again. Y/N sighed into the kiss, grasping the baby hairs at the base of his head.Â
They pulled apart at the sound of their friends whooping and clapping atop the hill. Y/N felt her face erupt with embarrassed heat, to which Newt laughed as she ducked her head into his chest.Â
âAll right, come on lovebirds!â Minho called out. âDinnerâs almost ready.â
As they walked down out of sight, Y/N went to follow but was stopped by a loose grip on her wrist.
âWhat is it?â she asked as she turned back to Newt.
âI justâŚâ Newt turned to the gardens below, then to the water, then to the sunset that bathed the whole camp in beautiful hues of orange, pink and purple. When he finally turned back to Y/N, she thought he couldnât look any more handsome with that pure sunshine smile and sparkle in his eyes. âThanks.â
âFor what?â she asked.
âFor teaching me how to be brave,â he answered.
Y/N gave his hand a squeeze. âYou were always brave, Newt,â she said. âItâs how I learned how to be brave in the first place.â
Newt squeezed her hand in return, then they walked hand in hand back up the hill and down to dinner to where their friend awaited them.Â
Where the lives they never imagined theyâd get a chance to live awaited them.

Pairing: Wednesday Addams X reader
Wednesday hated Thornhill.
After that encounter in the library, she had done everything to avoid Y/N. Yet, fate seemed to take pleasure in her misfortune: a group activity paired her with the one person who made her feel the most out of place at Nevermore, making her realize just how unlucky she truly was.
After all, she was an Addams; she knew very well that luck was not on their side.
The activity involved collecting the Nightshade Bloom, better known as the Dreamshade Flower. It was an extremely rare plant found only in the Crackstone Forest. She had no idea where in the forest it grew, but she knew it preferred humid spots: probably near the waterfalls or in the Misty Glade.
"Are you sure it's this way?" Y/N asked, looking around with awe.
Wednesday stopped and turned to her partner, an eyebrow raised in disapproval. The question irritated her but when she saw the terror on the girlâs face, she decided to let it go.
"Of course, I'm sure," Wednesday replied in her characteristic monotone voice. She blinked and observed Y/N using her hand like a flashlight to navigate the darkness.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to be rude," Y/N justified, her Y/C eyes scanning the surroundings before turning back to Wednesday.
A strange flutter gripped Wednesday's stomach, forcing her to break eye contact. She didnât like this feeling at all. Experimenting with new emotions, especially ones she didnât understand, was not her style.
Without saying a word, Wednesday resumed walking, her right hand holding the makeshift torch while her left brushed aside branches that slowed their progress. An unsettling silence enveloped the woods, and Wednesday was oddly grateful for it.
But, of course, Y/N had to break it.
"So... I haven't seen you in the library lately," Y/N began, trying to spark a conversation, a way to distract herself and learn more about the gothic Addams. She had done some research about Wednesday, but her name didnât appear on any social media, which honestly disappointed her.
Wednesday made a strange sound in her throat.
"I was busy," she replied coldly. It wasn't a lie. She had indeed been occupied writing her story and avoiding the person standing in front of her. She had nothing against Y/N; rather, it was the absence of disdain that bothered her.
"I understand... Enid told me you write a lot... and that you're not exactly a social person" Y/N confessed with a hint of sadness.
Wednesday stopped, noticing how Y/N hesitated to push aside a branch, suddenly halting. Enid? Why were they talking about me? Y/N looked at Wednesday, confusion evident on her face.
"Why were you talking about me?" Wednesday asked, her voice sharp.
Y/N's cheeks flushed.
"Um... I'm participating in the Poe Cup and she mentioned you... the only member I don't know," she admitted, embarrassment creeping into her tone. The flames in her hand illuminated her Y/C eyes, and Wednesday couldnât help but think how strikingly attractive she looked in that light.
Quickly, Wednesday averted her gaze and turned away.
Y/N let out a sigh she didn't realize she'd been holding, falling back into step behind Wednesday. Addams pondered Y/N's words, especially the fact that she would be competing in the Poe Cup with them. Honestly, she didnât want to participate in the tournament again, but the prospect of competing alongside Y/N intrigued her.
"Have you finished reading the book?" Wednesday asked coldly.
She enjoyed the interaction they were having, and a part of her desperately wanted to keep talking to Y/N. Yes, Wednesday Addams, the most antisocial girl at Nevermore, found herself wanting to engage with Y/N.
A huge smile spread across Y/N's face.
"Yes, it was really interesting and helpful for my research," she confessed excitedly, glancing at Wednesday, who observed her from the corner of her eye. The moonlight highlighted Addams' pale skin, and her perfectly arranged braids gave her an air of authority and glamour.
Y/N had developed a small crush on Addams.
"Good," Wednesday murmured in a sharp tone, diverting her gaze from Y/N.
A strange flush crept onto her cheeks, and her heartbeat quickened at the sight of Y/Nâs radiant smile. Something was definitely off within her.
She unconsciously rubbed her cheeks.
"Have we arrived?" Y/N asked nervously, her fear growing. She had heard a couple of howls during their trek that made her skin crawl, but seeing Wednesday's calm demeanor made her decideâno, force herselfâthat everything was under control.
"Yes." Wednesday pressed her lips together, trying to suppress a smile.
It was the third time that night that her lips had inexplicably wanted to stretch into a smile, and each time she held back. She had to maintain her reputation as the gothic weirdo of Nevermore.
The fog enveloped their path, and Wednesday felt relieved to finally reach the Misty Glade. If they were lucky, they might find the damn flower in this area; otherwise, she would have to cross to the other side of Crackstone Forest toward the waterfalls.
Wednesday took off her backpack and pulled a small basket from inside.
"Can you recognize the Nightshade Bloom?" she asked, looking at Y/N. The latter nodded decisively.
Y/N walked opposite Wednesday, scanning the ground for any signs of light, hoping to spot the flower.
Meanwhile, Wednesday delved deeper into the mist, focusing on finding the blooms.
(...)
Wednesday crouched down and carefully picked the flower, trying not to damage its luminescent petals. She placed it in the basket alongside the others and walked toward another damp area. Half an hour had passed since the search began, and Wednesday felt increasingly uncomfortable in the oppressive silence.
Where on earth were you?
"Y/N?" she called loudly.
All she received in response was a howl. What if you were in danger? Wednesday gripped the basket tightly and scanned the surroundings, determined to spot you, abandoning her task of collecting more flowers.
Her feet moved westward as she squinted, trying to extend her field of vision, but the damned fog was too thick. A strange sensation settled in her chest, something that edged on fear. But she wasn't scared; she was... uncomfortable due to your silence?
"Y/N, if this is a joke, itâs not funny!" Wednesday exclaimed loudly, looking around with heightened vigilance. Her heartbeat quickened.
The worst scenarios flashed in her mind, prompting her to quicken her pace.
"Ahhhhh!" you screamed.
Wednesday's eyes widened, and she raced toward the sound of your cry. Something had gone wrong. The brunette increased her running speed, breathing heavily, a strange light contrasting with the darkness of the forest.
"What happened?" she asked breathlessly upon arrival.
Y/N was sitting on the ground, an enormous smile plastered across her face as she held the Nightshade Bloom in her hands. Her Y/C eyes met Wednesday's, shining with pure happiness.
"I found my first flower!" she exclaimed, beaming.
Wednesday let out an exasperated sigh, and at that moment, she wanted to strangle Y/N with her bare hands. Had she run for nothing? Was it merely a scream of joy? Her expression softened as she watched you approach, curiosity written all over your face, your eyes sparkling as they scanned her basket.
"What? Youâve already found six?!" Y/N exclaimed in surprise.
Wednesday couldn't help but smile, a spontaneous and genuine smile that made Y/N's heart skip a beat. The dimples were evident as her lips curved, making Y/N wonder how something so beautiful could be so rarely seen.
Just like the Nightshade Bloom.
Wednesday felt relieved to see Y/N safe, and despite a part of her wanting to kill her for making her think the worst, another part couldnât shake the memory of the enthusiasm radiating from her for finding the flower.
She would let this incident slide, simply because it was you.

I liked your gally headcannon <3
could i request some headcannons for a reader he meets after the glade like they work for Lawrence and stuff? Thank uu
meeting gally in the last city would include
masterlist
ahhh thank you so much! ofc, i love making relationship headcanons <3 reader is a little softie. i'm sorry!! i love writing soft readers too much. suggestive themes.
before relationship
you two first met in an altercation with lawrence's men upon entering the last city's outskirts. he had suggested taking you back to lawrence to join his cause.
it took a while for him to talk to you. he didn't want to leave a bad impression, especially given his track record.
plus, he thought you were really pretty which to him, was intimidating.
he was surprised by how kindly you treated him and how warm the smiles you gave were. such pure-heartedness was a rarity in this world.
you started spending a lot of time together. he would train you in combat; you'd take watch together, and even sometimes talk on the roof at night.
people would definitely notice the connection.
the other men would blatantly tease him about liking you in front of you.
his attraction to you would reach its peak whenever you used a gun. something about a gun and girl really got him going.
there would be moments where you two flirted and then became all flustered when you realised what you were doing.
he would start distancing himself.
he'd never feel worthy of having you in his life. his past would always haunt him.
one night, he caved and told you everything he had done.
you kissed him for the first time and told him he was the strongest person you had ever met.
that was when he knew he had fallen in love with you.
during relationship
pet names would include baby, angel, beautiful, and short-stuff.
his sense of humour used to be self-deprecating, but your constant reassurance and loving words changed that.
now he'd do anything, say anything, to make you laugh or smile. he loved your smile. your laugh even more so.
he would be extremely protective over you. your gentle nature would make you more vulnerable, something he felt he needed to protect.
especially during missions and supply runs.
"don't leave my side, alright?"
"please be careful."
"i don't want you in any danger. i cant lose you too."
you'd always protect each other in combat, even though he's like, way taller than you.
sometimes he needed a little protection though, given the fact that he only had one good lung which affected his fighting capabilities.
sometimes you would sit on his lap during car rides with his arms wrapped around you as your seatbelt.
he wouldn't care about anyone watching. he liked having everyone know you chose him of all people.
he'd tease you about your height all the time. expect a joke at least once a day.
would love hugging you from behind, just enveloping your body with his.
kisses would be so tender. he'd bend down and cup your jaw so delicately while pulling you in by the waist.
forehead kisses, temple kisses, basically just kisses all around. not much in public though, that was something he liked keeping private.
when the relationship progressed, he'd still hold out on you. but gentle wasn't all that you were.
"touch me, gally".
and he would. he would brush his fingers along your jaw, up and down your arms, and hold the side of your neck as he kissed you.
"no," you'd whispered. "gally... be rough with me"
at first, he would be hesitant. but once he saw your insistence, he'd pick you up and plant you on a table, allowing his old rougher self to take over as he kissed you, touched you, and well...
that would be how you first sleep together.
he could lift you up like you weigh absolutely nothing. you're basically like a rag-doll to him. in an innocent way. most of the time ;)
his hands are so big that they completely cover the sides of your head.
you would wear his hoodies and sweatshirts to bed. he'd love how big they were on you.
people would hold parties in the ruins of old buildings. there'd be music, bonfires, and alcohol.
gally wouldn't be able to help himself. you'd just look so beautiful in the firelight, he'd bring you somewhere secluded and take you against a wall.
these were the only times he was harsh with you and you loved itâthe contrast between having someone who was lovingly gentle and sinfully rough was exhilarating.
when thomas and the others came to the last city, they were genuinely shocked by how he managed to score you.
thomas especially.
"you know about the things he's done, right?"
you instantly come to his defence.
"i know. i also know that people can change. he's not the same person you knew. he's brave and strong and the most caring man i've ever met."
gally's a bit of a snoop, so of course he 'accidentally' eavesdropped on your conversation.
"did you really mean all that? what you said to thomas."
"of course i did. i love you, you big idiot."
"i love you too... little idiot."
damn this was kinda long. my bad.

hi love!! could u maybe write some morning sex + aftercare hcs with newt in the glade?
Hello angel! Thanks for the request, here it is. I hope you liked it and that it was what you wanted. I want to clarify that this is the first time I have written something about aftercare.
Tw:: Suggestive language, smut.
âż ŰŞâ Morning sex
â Good morning sex with Newt, he would try to be gentle at first since you weren't 100% awake, but then, ugh- Get ready to have a long morning of screaming.
â He would whisper compliments to you while leaving kisses all over your neck.
â "You're perfect." "My love."
â If you start, he doesn't mind you taking control, but he's too proud to say so.
â He would smile every time I heard you moan his name.
â He would try all possible positions.
â But if both of you are still dreaming, you would try cockwarming.
â And when they were finished, he would cum on your belly, while he watches how it stays there and accumulates in your navel.
â In moments he would give you light kisses pressed to your knuckles.
â He would use his accent on purpose.
â At first, he would make you kneel and order you to give him a good blowjob.
â He has his moments when he praises you a lot.
âWhen they are more awake⌠It would suffocate you a little, but not too much, it is gentle, but it also depends on how you wake up.
â If he wakes up with a good attitude, he will be so cute, kissing your body, face or body while he fucks you.
â "Do you like it like this, my love?" "Ask what you want."
â But, oh if he wakes up in a bad mood, ah⌠He's harder than normal when it comes to fucking you, what matters to him at that moment is his pleasure and getting rid of that mood.
â "All mine. Say, Whose are you?" "You're being a good girl for me."
â And if he has in mind that he has to get up and start his homework, but he can't help it, also if you try to tell him he will respond with "Alby is there too, he can do mine."
âż ŰŞâ Aftercare
â He would lie down next to you and cling to you to finish.
â It's just that if he's hugging you, it makes him forget everything.
â If you fall asleep, It's when he knows he has to get up and change to start his duties, and if they ask about you he would say an excuse.
â Or if they had something soft, I'd bring you breakfast in bed.
â He would worry if something would hurt you, and obviously he would come to see you when he can.
â He can't miss his kisses, he would kiss you on the forehead saying "You did great, my love."

There were very few downsides to being a Track-hoe. You enjoyed being outdoors all day, breathing in the fresh air and the amazing smell of fresh plants, chatting with your fellow track-hoes and generally enjoying yourself.Â
The main issue you had was the dirt.Â
Sure, it was essential to your job, but it was the worst possible thing about it. You didnât even mind the sweat and aching muscles most of the time, because that just meant a job well done. But the dirt? If you could plant and grow things without it, you would. The way it stuck to your clothes, your skin. How it buried itself into your pores and underneath your fingernails and took forever to scrub off your skin.Â
The biggest upside, however, was Newt.Â
Youâd been here almost 2 years, and he was quite possibly your favorite person in the Glade. He was the first person besides Alby to reach out and connect with you, not really caring or fearing the fact that you were, and still are, the only girl. Minho was the second person to do the same.Â
Newt, over time, had become your biggest confidant about almost everything. You spent pretty much all of your spare time with him, and he with you. After long days, youâd take the time after dinner to walk around the Glade. Sometimes youâd talk, and sometimes youâd just enjoy one anotherâs presence. Everyone knew not to mess with you, and the Greenies that didnât usually learned their lesson pretty quickly.Â
You liked to call him your protector with a smile, mostly because heâd always flush bright red at the compliment.Â
Itâd been a few days since the box came up, and the newest Greenie, Jason, was still getting his bearings around the Glade. Heâd only learned his name yesterday, and that was after he threw up watching Winston show him how the slicers do their jobs. Today, he was with you and the other Track-hoes.Â
Heâd been mostly hovering near Zart and Newt, who were showing him the ropes. You, however, caught him glancing over at you a few too many times. It was normal for a Greenie, and for you, since you were the only girl. But it didnât stop you from feeling slightly uncomfortable.Â
Jason had been staring at you â as Zart was showing him how to de-weed the vegetables â until Newt clapped him on the shoulder. Faintly, you could hear them talking.Â
âStop staring, mate. Focus on the job.â Newt said, his tone laced with that all-too-familiar protectiveness. It made you smile, the way his eyes pierced into Jasonâs and struck him with a fear he seemed to make all the Greenies feel when it came to you.Â
After a while, you felt Jason resume his staring, even after Newtâs âwarningâ. You knew that heâd learn sooner or later, you just hoped it was the latter. While you were digging up some carrots, knowing it would take you forever to clean under your fingernails before dinner, Newtâs shadow blocked your view of the sun, forcing you to look up at him.
âCome on,â he nodded to the deadheads. âZart said we need more fertilizer.âÂ
Extending a hand upward, Newt pulled you to your feet before handing you the second bucket. As you departed from the gardens, you swung the empty bucket and sighed. âI donât know why he never just sends one of us. Thereâs no way this is a two person job.âÂ
âIâve stopped questioning Zart,â Newt shrugged. âHeâs the Keeper, what he says, goes. Thatâs all.â
Contemplating Newtâs words, you looked up at the leaves for a moment and tripped on a root. Newt barely caught you as you lurched forward, both buckets landing on the forest floor. âBesides, I think if you tried to do this yourself, youâd trip and break your neck.âÂ
âWell,â you exaggerated a sigh, âcanât have that, can we?â
Newt shook his head, grabbing the buckets. âNo, we canât.âÂ
After making it to the fertilizer pile and back with no further injury, the day carried on as normal. Newt and Zart continued training and carefully watching the Greenie to see if he was exactly up for the job of Track-hoe.Â
By the time the dinner bell rang, you were exhausted. You felt like this most days, but today you had to devote more energy than usual on making sure the Greenie wasnât staring at you as if youâd solve all of his problems just by talking to him.Â
You and Newt took off at the same time, chatting about the Greenie and whether he was good for the Track-hoes or not. âI hope not,â you groaned. âHe keeps staring at me. Heâd spend more time looking at me than doing his actual job if he got put with us.â
âI know,â Newt chuckled. âI spent the day with the poor shank. You have no idea how many times I had to divert his attention back to his work, it was unbelievable.â
You shook your head. âTrust me, I know. I could feel him staring at me all damn day.âÂ
The dining hall was already pretty full of Gladers, milling about or grabbing food or sitting down. Quickly, you could smell Frypanâs beef stew wafting from the pots on the table. Your stomach suddenly felt empty, and you couldnât wait to pour yourself a bowl. You and Newt moved in tandem, pouring out soups into your own bowls from ladles hooked on the edge of the metal pots and grabbing cups of water from the table beside you.Â
Minho was already sitting at your usual table, peacefully eating his soup amid the usual chaos. Joining him, you and Newt sat across from him, digging into your food. Minho usually ate in silence, with the exception of joking around when the others got to the table, so you didnât mind listening to the din of the conversations happening around you for a little while.
Soon, Frypan joined Minhoâs side of the table, already boasting about how well received the stew was. Just as he was about to ask how everyone liked it, and as you were spooning more into your mouth, Jason approached your and Minhoâs end of the table.Â
âHi.â He said, entire body stiff, as if unclenching his muscles would make him disappear.Â
â...Hello?â You replied. âIs there something you need, Greenie?â
Jason laughed, but it sounded more like he was choking. âNo, no. I justâ I, um, I was wonderingââ
âCool it, slinthead,â Minho interrupted. âYouâre not going to get anywhere with Y/n, here. She and Newt are practically married, even if they donât know they are.â
With a disgruntled air around him, Jason admitted defeat and left the table to go find somewhere to eat his dinner.Â
You furrowed your brows at Minho. âMe and Newt arenât married, what the shuck was that all about?â
As if things couldnât get worse, Gally stepped up to the table on Newtâs other side. âAre we talking about you and Newt? Have you finally gotten your clunk together and started dating? Because Iâve been waiting for this for almost two years.âÂ
âNah,â Frypan said. âTheyâre too scared to admit something like that, Gally. You know that.âÂ
âYeah, and itâs getting on all of our nerves.â Minho said. âIt irritates me more than the Newbies do.â
âCould you stop talking about us like weâre not here?â Newt snapped. âItâs really annoying.âÂ
The group exchanged looks and you couldnât help but smile. The rest of the dinner passed, and soon Alby joined you at Frypanâs side. The conversation flowed, as per usual, and you were able to let go of the pain your joints carried as you went back for a second helping and relaxed with your friends until sundown.Â
It was no surprise that Newt left when you did in order to walk you back to your room in the Homestead, where he bid you goodnight and headed to his own just down the hall. Just as he reached the door, though, he turned back and walked over to you.Â
âJust letting you know,â he began, âThe Greenieâs staying on as a track-hoe tomorrow. Alby doesnât want him doing a trial as a Medjack just yet. But I wonât be there either. Me and Gally have to be in the council hall tomorrow to talk with some of the other Keepers about scheduling. Stay safe, please.âÂ
You giggled. âDonât worry, Newt, Iâll be just fine. The most that Greenieâs gonna do is stare at me, and I canât die from something like that. Plus, Iâll have Zart and the other Track-hoes with me for the day.â
He sighed, almost reluctant to go most of the day without you. âIâll see you at breakfast then?â
âYes, you will.â You nodded. âAnd dinner. Now go to sleep, Newt.âÂ
With another goodnight, you and Newt headed into your respective rooms to settle in and go to bed, an unusual day ahead of you.
Despite waking up and starting your day with Newt as you usually would, it felt odd to split from him after Frypan served breakfast. It felt odd to not turn to him for casual conversation as you de-weeded the tomatoes and harvested carrots for tonightâs dinner â some sort of fried rice, you remember Frypan telling you at dinner last night.Â
Your day passed in relative silence aside from occasional chatter with the track-hoes or receiving orders from Zart. You avoided Jason as best as you could, and it seemed his embarrassment from last night still lingered as he was determined to stay on the opposite side of the field, despite still staring at you when he got the chance.Â
Sometime near the end of the day, youâd run out of fertilizer, and as usual Zart had sent you with both buckets to refill them. The trek was definitely boring without Newt to talk to, but you managed to fill both buckets and head most of the way back without incident, injury, or going crazy in the silence of the deadheads.Â
However, your luck was bound to run out at some point.Â
Just as the rays of sunshine were poking out from the field ahead, you tripped on a particularly large tree root sticking out of the ground. Both buckets flung from your hands as you stuck them out, attempting to break your own fall. Pain radiated from your ankle, palms, and wrists as you landed harshly on the ground, staining your clothes and skin with dirt.Â
After you processed what happened and pulled yourself up, you first inspected your palms. Wiping away the dirt, several scrapes and cuts revealed themselves, accompanied by irritated and angry skin surrounding them. Taking a moment to catch your breath, you tried your best to stand, but crumbled when you put weight on your right foot.Â
Hissing, you pulled up your pant leg and tried to touch around the area, only bringing yourself more pain as you did so. Figuring out how to get out of here was going to be difficult, especially without abandoning the buckets of fertilizer. After some time, you managed to find a particularly large stick to support the weight you wouldâve put on your injured foot, hooked one bucket handle on the crook of your elbow, and took the other in your free hand.Â
As best as you could manage, you brought the fertilizer to Zart, who quickly took notice of your condition.Â
âWhat the shuck happened to you?!â He exclaimed as you shifted your weight.Â
Looking down at your foot, you sighed. âA large tree root got the jump on me, Zart. Now will you please help me to the Medjacks so I donât have to use this shucking stick anymore?â
Almost jumping into action, Zart wrapped an arm around your torso and pulled your right one around his neck, helping you along to the other side of the Glade. You were beginning to see now why he usually sent Newt with you.Â
Upon reaching the Medjack hut, Clint and Jeff took over for Zart, ushering him away to get back to work. You were grateful for the Medjacks and the care they seemed to take with you. They made sure it was relatively painless for you as Clint examined your ankle and Jeff cleaned the cuts on your palms, keeping casual conversation with you as they did so.Â
It was only as Clint was wrapping your ankle â Jeff already having done so with the heels of your palms â that Newt came barrelling into the room.Â
âWe were wondering where you were,â Jeff quipped as he put away the roll of gauze heâd just used.Â
Newt ignored the other two people in the room and came to sit on the edge of your bed. âWhat the bloody hell happened to you?â
âItâs not like I almost died, Newt.â You told him, but let him take your hands into his to look at. âI was getting the fertilizer from the deadheads and tripped on a root. Itâs nothing more than a twisted ankle, I promise.â
âYou promised youâd be fine today without me.â Newt corrected you, and you couldnât help but chuckle.Â
âAnd I was. I just lost my footing to a root. Iâll be back up and running in a few days. Right, Clint?â
The boy at the end of the bed nodded, taping the tensor bandages into place. âExactly. After three days of no work and constant elevation, youâll be just fine.â
Newt looked back at the boy. âAre you sure?â
âYes, I am.â Clint said. âIâll even have Jeff come check up on her twice a day to make sure her foot heals. Okay?â
Newt considered Clintâs words for a moment before nodding. âAlright.âÂ
Soon enough, the Medjackâs left you and Newt alone in the treatment room. It was silent, and Newt still held your bandaged hands in his, not daring to say a word.Â
âAre you okay?â You asked eventually, feeling that youâd studied the boyâs face enough to gather that he was still deeply upset and in thought.Â
Newtâs eyes snapped from your hands to make eye contact with you, and you could see the emotion pooling in his dark irises. âI dunno. I know itâs stupid, youâll be fine, but⌠you were hurt. On the one day I wasnât there with you.â
Turning your hands over in his, you grabbed his palms and squeezed. âBut Iâll be fine, Newt. Look, Iâm still healthy, arenât I? Breathing, talking. Thatâs what matters. And itâs not your fault, it was just a silly accident.âÂ
âI know, I just⌠the thought of you getting hurt makes me want to go crazy.â Newt admitted. âYou being safe is all I care about.âÂ
Your heart stuttered in your chest as your face warmed. âI⌠I didnât know it meant that much to you.âÂ
âYou do.â Newt stated. âYou mean that much to me.âÂ
âNewtâŚâ you whispered. âI think those slintheads were right.â
His face scrunched up. âWhat dâyou mean?â
âI think⌠I think I like you. A lot more than I realized.â You gathered more courage with every word you spoke. âNewt⌠I think Iâm in love with you.âÂ
You watched his eyes widen as you spoke, hands still interlocked. Newt seemed to be stunned by your impromptu confession, and even you were surprised by it. Up until ten seconds ago, you were unaware of how big your feelings for Newt were, but now that they were out in the open, it was easy to see as you looked back on things. Your thoughts ran at a hundred miles a second, flashing with the memories you made with Newt and how close youâd gotten over the past few years. Â
It took you a second to pull away from the memories and realize that Newt had yet to respond.Â
âNewt?â You called out, trying to get his attention. âI shouldnât have said anything. Look, we donât have to do anything about it, we can forget it ever happenedââ
âNo.â Newt interrupted. âI donât want to do that.â He adjusted his grip on your hands, stroking your knuckles with his thumbs. âI⌠I love you, too. I think I have from the moment I met you.âÂ
Your lips stretched into a wide, blissful smile, and Newtâs expression soon matched yours. Slowly, he leaned in closer to you, shortening the distance until his lips were inches from yours.Â
âCan I kiss you?â He whispered.
âIâd like nothing more,â you told him, and in seconds, his lips were on yours and your hand was touching the back of his neck and you were both in a state of bliss you could only dream of until now.Â
You spent the next few hours with Newt, who sat next to you on the bed with an arm around your shoulders, talking mostly about how you both failed to notice your feelings toward each other for so long, occasionally disrupted by mini-makeouts. When the dinner bell rang, Newt promised to explain your injury to your friends and bring dinner for you both to eat in the Medjack hut.Â
When Newt came back, two steaming bowls of chicken rice in hand, the blush on his face was unmistakable.Â
âWhat happened?â You laughed as he passed you the bowl and sat on the bed. âWhat did they say to you?ââ
âThey didnât say anything.â Newt corrected you. âThey heard about my hauling ass across the Glade to get here from the council hall, thatâs what. And they basically figured us out.âÂ
âReally?â You fake gasped. âItâs like theyâve been trying to tell us about this for the past two years or something.â
âHa, ha,â Newt rolled his eyes. âEat your rice. After youâre finished, Iâve got to take you to the Homestead.âÂ
âMy hero,â you smiled, and Newt couldnât help but to kiss you once more before you both dug into your meals.Â
Once your ankle was healed, it was no surprise the uproar your friends caused when you were finally able to walk to breakfast hand in hand with Newt. After all, they had been waiting years for this.

HIII I'VE BEEN SO INLOVE WITH YOUR WRITINGS SO FAR đ
since your request is open I'm hoping you can write this for me (I cannot express my thoughts to a full on fan fiction to save my lifeđ)
Request: so like reader is a runner. Minho and reader were running away from a griever like frantically trying to lose it then Minho suddenly pulled reader to a small crack on the wall so they would lose the griever. The griever was just around the area trying to find the two that's why both of the runners were just there in the crack, close together, litterly body to bodyđź and you know some friction started to happen đĽbut of course they just can't do the thingđŁ in the mazeđ so like after the griever was gone they both ran to the Glade and ykykyk they continued what they startedđ¤Ą
If you don't get it basically smutâšď¸
Hehee thank youu in advanceđđđ!!!
literally love this concept, and I will gladly accept ur request <3
SMALL SPACES (Minho x fem!reader)
Summary: look above for summary ^ (I made this enemies to lovers btw I'm sorry I couldn't help myself)
Warnings: Cursing, spice, smut (I don't really use the glade language in this one)
Word count: 4.6K (proofread, but there still might be some mistakes)
Today was like any normal day for you. You woke up at the ass crack of dawn, sloppily put on your clothes, and excited your hut. You walked across the glade, taking in the rather peaceful atmosphere while you looked up to see the sun peeking over the maze walls.
"God, mornings really aren't your thing, huh? You look like shit." Minho chuckled as you approached him while he stood waiting for the maze doors to open. He wore his signature blue shirt, which was paired with his infamous runners' vest.
Minho stood there with that shit-eating grin on his face as you stood next to him, rubbing your eyes and stretching as you let out a groan.
Since coming to the glade as a girl, all the boys have been nice to you and dare you say, rather respectful. All of them except for Minho. You never knew what you had done that warranted Minho's hatred for you, but it didn't matter because the feeling was reciprocated.
You really only needed to deal with Minho's attitude or rude comments when you both were running the maze together, which, unfortunately, was quite often. You came to the conclusion pretty early on that the worst part of being a runner wasn't the concept of getting trapped in the maze or being eaten alive with a griever, it was dealing with Minho's bitch ass.
"Not even a good morning. Starting the day off strong I see." You sigh, glaring at Minho while he checks the time. The doors should be opening soon and you wished that Ben and the other runners hadn't gotten totally hung over from the bonfire last night, resulting in them being in the medhut this morning with some really strong headaches. And it was because of that that only you and Minho would be running the maze together today.
"You know me," Minho replies while giving you a wink. You scoff at him, reminiscing about how you'd much rather be where you were ten minutes ago, sleeping in bed. "You know which parts of the maze we're running today right?" Minho asked, changing the subject.
"Yup, the outskirts of section six." You say as you roll your eyes, not bothering to mask the attitude in your voice. You put your hands on your hips, facing the maze while tapping your foot on the ground impatiently. You were ready for the maze doors to open so you could stop having to talk to Minho.
You knew yourself and you knew you wouldn't be able to stand talking to Minho much longer without giving in to the strong urge you had to maul him. But maybe then you'd finally be able to ruin his perfect hair.
I mean, how dare he have the nerve to wake up this early in the morning and look so put together. It wasn't fair.
"Well, someone's more grumpy than usual," Minho says, noticing the slight scowl you have on your face.
"I'm not grumpy." You reply while continuing to stare at the maze doors.
"Right," Minho says sarcastically before continuing, "You're going to get wrinkles if you keep making that face. Just letting you know." Minho explains as he lifts up his hand and brings it towards your face. He's about to tuck a fallen piece of your hair back behind your ear and you feel a faint blush beginning to spread on your cheeks. For a second, you're tempted to let him, but that's until you come back to your senses, slapping his hand away as you do so.
"You just love pissing me off, don't you Minho?" you snap at him as you turn to face him.
"I'd say I love seeing your reaction to me pissing you off much more," Minho replies with a smirk as he stands confidently, bringing his hands up to his chest and latching his fingers onto the snug space between his runners' vest and his shirt.
"What, seeing me get mad?"
"No," Minho says while taking a step towards you, grabbing your wrist and pulling you closer, his face now mere inches away from yours. "Seeing when I get you flustered." Minho finishes as he towers over you.
You look at him, shocked, and quite frankly, very bewildered.
Was he right? Yes, he definitely was, but you'd rather get stung by a griever than openly admit to that.
Nonetheless, it's safe to say his comment was exactly helping to calm the heat you felt on your cheeks from before now spreading like wildfire across your face.
You opened your mouth to say something in reply which would've been some sort of string of insults at Minho, but before you could, you both turned your attention to the maze doors which began to open. The stone screeched as whatever mechanism was built into the maze pulled the doors apart, revealing the maze and its seemingly infinite number of twists and turns.
As the doors came to a halt, a cold gust of air that the maze emitted whenever the doors opened or right before they closed, hit you and Minho. No matter how many times you felt it, it never failed to give you goosebumps all along your spine. The feeling of the wind on your skin made you remember the fact Minho's hand was gripped firmly around your wrist. And for some reason, instead of deciding to pull your wrist free right away, you decided to let him keep his hand there.
You exhaled a long and deep breath, one that you didn't even know you were holding in. You decided not to say anything else about what Minho had just said for the sake of being scared of where the conversation might lead.
So without warning, you jogged into the maze, pulling your wrist away and leaving Minho behind you.
"Hey wait up. Where do you think you're going?" Minho asked breaking into a sprint to catch up with you as you made sharp turns around corners of the maze.
"Where do you think?" You counter with an irritated voice.
"You know how to get to section six?" Minho questioned again, jogging up next to you.
You rolled your eyes but remained quiet. Speaking to Minho right now was taking up too much of your energy. All you wanted to do was stay quiet and focus on actually doing your job.
"Oh, so you're ignoring me now?"
Silence
"Fine. If that's what you want. No more talking." Minho said with an exasperated sigh.
And that's how the majority of the day continued. You and Minho mapped any remaining parts of the sixth section, though there wasn't really anything new to jot down, and stayed silent.
Even while you and Minho sat and ate lunch, neither of you spoke. You were determined to not be the one to break the silence and to be quite honest, you appreciated the quiet. But part of you missed the banter that you and Minho would get into. It helped you cope with the fact that almost the entire maze was mapped but there still didn't seem like a way out. And all in all, to you, your bickering and arguing could actually be quite fun at times, and it distracted you from having an existential crisis.
As hours began passing, you and Minho drew your searches for new areas of the maze to a close and began heading back towards the glade. You were beginning your trip back far earlier than normal, considering you were far out in the maze and not very close to the glade. If anything, it would be better to get out of the maze early than have the doors close before you could get back in the glade.
You jogged through the seemingly endless turns of the maze. Both you and Minho had gotten tired from today's work. You felt your legs burn and your energy dwindled with each stride you took toward the maze's doors.
You both couldn't have been too far from the glade when you heard it. Maybe you were ten or so turns until you reached the door, standing in a path that branched out in three different directions. One path was to your left, one to your right, and one straight ahead of you. You and Minho planned on taking the one straight in front of you to get back to the glade. However, you stopped dead in your tracks after hearing that sound, one in which you knew all too well.
The blood-curdling screech pierced the air, echoing along the walls as you and Minho just stood there. The worst part wasn't hearing the griever, but more the fact that it was far closer to you than you had anticipated.
You looked at Minho for some sort of reassurance. You wanted to convince yourself that maybe you were just hearing things, maybe you were actually just going crazy. Unfortunately, Minho's expression stayed stoic but you could see the fear in his eyes which honestly scared you more. Minho had been a runner for a while, much longer than you, so to see his carefree attitude change to something more wary and serious was new for you.
After standing in that spot for a couple moments, unable to move any part of your body, all of your worst fears were confirmed as you saw a griever turn a corner and run down the long passage of the maze that was in front of you.
Your breath hiched and for a split second, all you could do was stare. Stare at this disgusting, gruesome, and fucking terrifying creature. It was as if someone picked up a monster from your nightmares, something only your imagination would be able to conjure up, and placed it right in front of you. Something as horrifying as whatever the fuck that creature was, shouldn't have ever existed. But it did. And it was headed straight towards you.
Unlike you, Minho reacted quicker upon seeing the griever. "Come on. We need to go. Now!" Minho yelled, grabbing your wrist as he sprinted down the corridor to your right. Seeing the griever was all you needed to regain all the energy you had lost from running all day, and you quickly followed suit after Minho.
You ran as if your life depended on it, and in this case, it did. Literally.
Minho held onto your wrist tightly as he led you through the maze, the griever was hot on your tail and you both knew you wouldn't be able to outrun it for much longer.
Minho led you both into a different passage and ran down it frantically. Suddenly he pulled you into what could've been considered as a crack in the wall.
Most of the passageways in the maze ranged in various different widths. Some corridors were larger or smaller than others, but the one he had pulled you into had been smaller than you could've ever imagined. It would've been easier if you had gone in side-by-side, but at this point, that was a bit of an afterthought. Minho placed you in front of him as you both squeezed into the passage, desperate to escape the griever.
Your backs were up against opposing walls of the crevice, causing your chests to be pressed against one anothers. His hands were now placed firmly on your hips, pushing you into him as he attempted to eliminate more space around you in order to shuffle both of you further into the slit in the wall.
To be fair, you had to give Minho some credit because the griever wasn't able to reach either of you and trust me, it tried. Even as it left, both you and Minho knew it would still remain in the area, waiting for them to leave, so they would just have to wait it out.
You waited there for at least an hour already and the only issue was, of course, the lack of space. You had your hands on Minho's chest while his were gripped tightly around your waist, all while you did your best to keep your face away from his.
You would be lying if you said the tension in the air wasn't palpable.
Heat radiated off of Minho's body and beads of sweat laced your forehead. You didn't know how you could last another minute, let alone possibly another hour with your body pressed against his like this.
"It's only going to get more awkward if you don't say anything," Minho said while sighing, finally breaking the silence that had filled the air for some time. For the first time since you both got into this mess, you looked at him.
He looked just as tense as you did and you felt something in the atmosphere between the two of you shift. There was more of a longingness in the air, almost as if there was some sort of unspoken tension between the both of you.
"I don't get you Minho." You said as Minho gave you a confused look and you weren't quite too sure what you were going with it either, but you continued nonetheless, "It's like one day you hate me, then the next you're flirting with me. Seriously, is it just to tease me? Do you just like getting any sort of reaction out of me?" You said as the words just began to spill out of your mouth.
"I don't hate you," Minho replied, clenching his jaw. It almost seemed as if there was more he wanted to say but there was something that had stopped him from saying it.
"Then what is it Minho? What's your problem?" You asked with anger in your voice which was mixed for some reason with a twinge of sadness.
"The problem is that I like you (Y/N). I like everything about you." The look in his eyes matched the sadness you felt as he continued, "I've liked you for the longest time. I never said anything about it because I'm basically your boss and I didn't want to make things weird. I know that doesn't excuse me for being a dick but-" He paused, "I'm sorry. I mean it, I really am."
You looked at him, stunned once more by his words. Like a dam, all of the feelings you've had towards Minho flowed out at once. You had always vowed that you never liked Minho, not even as a person, but you knew that was far from the truth. Minho was the only boy in the glade that you had ever felt attracted to and it was safe to say the both of you had been denying that feeling for the longest time.
"Please, say something," Minho pleaded with you, looking down into your bright (E/C) eyes.
You wanted to say something. Really you did. But you just couldn't find the right words to say, so you didn't say anything at all. Instead, you kissed him. I mean, actions speak louder than words anyways, right?
You closed the small gap your face had with Minhos as you crashed your lips into his. Minho quickly got over his shock and reciprocated the kiss. In all truth, kissing Minho felt exactly as you dreamed it would. He was gentle yet passionate with you and if one thing was sure, he definitely took his time with you, savoring every part of your mouth as you allowed his tongue to enter it.
Minho drew away from you for a moment, "So I'm guessing you don't hate me anymore?" He asked, his lips already swollen from kissing you.
"We'll see about that." You answered with a cheeky grin on your face as he kissed you once more.
You melted into his touch even further than before, snaking your hands around his neck while he pulled you closer to him. As the kiss continued, it became more desperate and hungry, and neither of you could hold yourself back from each other.
At that moment, nothing else mattered. Not the fact that a griever was trying to kill you, or even that you were stuck in a giant maze. The only thing that mattered to you right now was Minho.
Minho drew away, biting your bottom lip as he continued to kiss you down your jaw and Neck, making you pull your head back slightly and moan. You felt Minho get hard under you, and it wasn't helping that the bulge from his jeans was positioned right by your throbbing core.
Though you could've stayed there, letting Minho kiss you all over, your mind reminded you of where you actually were. Part of you wanted to say fuck it, I'll take Minho right here and right now, but the more logical part of your brain knew you needed to get out of the maze now before the doors closed. And by now, the griever should've been long gone.
"Minho," you said breathlessly as he looked back at you after leaving marks all over your neck and collarbone. "We need to get back to the glade." You finish. You could see the look in his eyes and clearly, he had the same moral dilemma as you did a moment ago.
"Right- yeah, you're right let's go," Minho replied as you both did your best to squeeze out of the tiny crevice you had both wriggled yourselves into. Minho checked for the griever and thankfully it was nowhere to be seen.
Minho interlocked his fingers with yours as you ran through the maze, navigating its bends and corners. His grip was firm and protective and he was extra alert, checking behind and in front of you every so often.
Eventually, you both found yourself back in the glade with barely any time to spare. You let out a sigh of relief as you stepped onto the bright green grass, putting your head down and letting go of Minhos hand as you placed your hands on your knees while you panted.
The doors let out that familiar gust of wind and began to move once more, closing you into the glade for yet another night.
"What happened to you guys? We thought a griever got to you or something," Newt joked, walking up to you and Minho by the maze doors. You could tell a wave of relief passed over his face as he saw you both exit the maze and after he noticed that neither you nor Minho were injured.
You stood up straight again, putting your hands on your hips and giving Minho a look. You were about to tell Newt about the very close-to-death experience you and Minho just had, but before you could say anything, Minho spoke first, "Nope, we just spent too much time exploring. We made a lot of progress though." He lied.
You gave him a puzzled look. You both definitely did not make 'a lot of progress', not unless he defined 'a lot of progress' as rerunning areas of the maze you had already seen and mapped.
"We did?" You asked looking at Minho but he cut you off slightly as he continued.
"Yup, we did," Minho said grabbing your wrist and walking past Newt, "That's why we need to go to the maze room now," Minho concluded.
"Don't you guys want to eat something? Fry just made his stew, I'm sure you both are hungry by now," Newt asked, a little confused over Minho's urgency. For a while, Minho had started just grabbing a bite to eat before going to the maze room or bringing some food to the maze room as he mapped, but apparently, today was different.
"We're okay. Thanks though Newt." Minho said, still dragging you away as he waved goodbye to Newt who was left just standing there looking just as confused as you were.
After you both walked far enough away from Newt, Minho's grip on your wrist softened slightly, and soon you were both almost at the maze room.
"So are you going to tell me what that was about?" You questioned.
"Oh come on. Do you really think I'm going to let you get away with not finishing something you started?" Minho asked, pulling you into the maze room, closing the door, and sitting you down on the table in the center of the room. He stood in between your legs as he placed both of his hands on your hips, leaning his face into yours, leaving barely any room between your lips.
You chuckle slightly while looking at him, "A little eager aren't we?" You ask him while you place one of your hands on his nape and the other on his cheek.
"How could I not be? I've waited far too long for this," Minho counters, one of his hands traveling up your side as the other stayed on your hip.
You thought the tension was heavy in the maze, but now it had grown ten times greater in here.
A deep sense of longing and desperation filled the air as you looked at Minho again, meeting his eyes as you spoke, "You're not the only one who's been waiting."
And with that, Minho's lips found yours. You clung to him as you wrapped both of your hands around his neck. Minho reciprocated as he wrapped one of his arms around your back, bringing you even closer to him, while his other hand allowed itself to travel under the back of your shirt and up your spine. The feeling of his hand lingering up and down your spine sent shockwaves through your entire body.
Minho began kissing you hungrily and passionately, and being the sexually deprived teenager he was, he already grew hard again. You felt the bulge from his jeans press against your heat and you soon began to long for more of him.
You and Minho were quick to take your hands off of each other for a moment to take off your runners' harnesses. Your shirts were on the ground soon after, and you couldn't help but stare at Minho's figure as he stood in front of you.
God, this man was the definition of hot.
The way the muscles on his bicep flexed as he took off his shirt was quite possibly the most attractive thing you've ever seen. Not to mention that each and every one of his muscles was toned and defined.
Minho noticed your eyes linger on him, "Someone's staring." Minho stated as he lifted your chin up with his fingers, fiddling with the zipper of his jeans with his free hand while he did so.
"Can you blame me?" You ask, taking off your shorts and letting them fall on the ground, "You're hot Minho. I can't help but stare." You say as you begin to sit up straight. You tilted your head and placed your arms around his neck once more, staring up at him with a puppy dog-eyed expression.
Minho, who clearly isn't used to receiving praise for his looks, is floored. It's safe to say the compliment went straight to his dick because you could feel him grow even harder under you. You chuckle as you kiss Minho once more and this time, he melts into your touch completely.
Minho moves one of his hands to your back, the other moving up your thigh until it reaches your soaked panties. He moves them to the side so that he has access to your pussy and he places two of his fingers between your folds, rubbing you up and down.
A moan escapes from between your lips as you throw your head back, relying on the arms you have wrapped around Minho's neck and the hand he has on your back for support.
"So wet for me already," Minho chuckles to himself as he continues rubbing circles into your clit. Suddenly, he pushes one of his fingers into you, causing your body to jolt in pleasure and surprise.
He adds in his other finger and begins pumping them in and out of you, agonizingly slow. As if a reflex, you roll your hips against his hand and moan his name. You fail to suppress your soft whimpers as he picks up the pace, making you drown in pleasure.
"Minho please, I want you." You breathe out, your voice barely above a whisper.
"Want me to do what baby?" Minho asks as you bring your head back up to look at him.
"I want you inside me." You confess. "Please," you whimper, on the verge of begging him.
Minho kisses you softly as he takes his fingers out of you and you use your elbows to prop yourself up. Minho pulled his boxers down so they pooled at his ankles and his cock sprang out, hitting his stomach as he did so. His cock was long and hard as beads of precum dripped down from his tip. Fuck he was massive.
Minho lined himself up with your entrance and with one swift push, he entered you fully. You gasped as you sunk into him further. Your walls stretched around his girth and the quick pain you felt as he made his way inside you was quickly replaced by pleasure.
"Fuck- you're so big," You moaned out, as Minho began his thrusts.
He groaned as he began moving in and out of you. The pleasure both of you felt was unmatched as Minho gripped your hips, using them to help guide his movements.
"God you feel so good," Minho panted as he continued to thrust in and out of you.
Minho kisses you again, messily and sloppily as he continues with his movements, but neither of you can focus on kissing the other, not when he is pumping in and out of you. You couldn't help but savor what it felt like with him inside you. The way he filled you up made you feel like you were on cloud 9.
Minho kept mumbling out words of praise while he moved in and out of you and he could tell by the way your walls began to squeeze around him, that you were close. And you could tell that he was close by the way that his thrusts began growing more sloppy and desperate. But maybe it was him removing one of his hands from your hip to apply more pressure to your clit as he rubbed circles into it, that pushed you over the edge.
"Minho I'm going t-" You began to say as your voice broke but you couldn't finish your sentence before letting out a loud moan. A wave of ecstasy crashed over you all at once and you threw your head back in pleasure.
Minho groaned as he pushed into you with one final thrust, filling you up completely. It took a moment with the both of you panting before he pulled out.
You sat up straight as Minho brought his head towards your ear, "You did so well, you know that, right, baby?" Minho whispered before meeting your eyes. You gave him a smile and he gave you a soft kiss. "Want to grab some food and then cuddle in my hut for the night?" Minho asked as he pulled away, picking up his scatted clothes and putting them back on.
"Mhm," You replied with a smile. Today was quite an eventful day and to be honest you were exhausted and Minho picked up on it.
"Are you tired?" Minho questioned as he grabbed your remaining clothing and put it back on you while you yawned.
"Just a bit," You replied with a chuckle as you hopped down from the table.
"We can go to be early tonight then," Minho said while wrapping an arm around your waist and leading you outside the maze room. You pecked him on the cheek as you both walked off.

Bonus
"Hey Minho I know it's your day off but I can't find (Y/N) anywhere. I checked her hut and then thought maybe you'd know wher-" Newt paused as he barged into Minho's hut to see Minho now sitting straight up in his bed. "Jesus Christ, what the hell happened to your neck?" Newt asked, referring to the very obvious hickies you had ended up leaving Minho.
Minho was struggling for a response as you emerged from under the sheets in Minhos t-shirt, rubbing your eyes and looking over at Newt.
Newt looked at you both, bewildered and flustered as the dots finally connected in his brain. "You know what- Never mind. I'll leave you guys to it. Didn't mean to interrupt." Newt replied quickly, slamming the door on his way out of the hut.
You huffed and rolled back on your side in hopes of getting a bit more sleep. Minho gladly wrapped his arms around you and joined you.
Ok, this might be my favorite fic I've written so far. I'm really happy with how it turned out and I hope you guys like it too!!

Translation note: AmariĂŤ means 'goodness', Uthaessel means "tempting girl' as far as I can tell!
A nameless terror has been stalking your kin in these woods for years, and you are eager for your husband's embrace as you delve further into the woods, heart racing at every tiny rustle in the trees. He would never let anything happen to you, but he was not here, at least not as far as you could tell.
Usually when he drew close, you could feel a warmth deep in your soul, like embers stoked in a neglected fire, made to dance and blaze again with renewed vigour whenever he returned to you. But for the moment all you feel is an icy cold fear in the pit of your stomach; you should not be out here alone.
You think to turn back, to run back to the safety of your fledgling city, but you press on. He promised he would be here, and you cannot disappoint him, not after the long months he has spent in the north craving your touch.
The forest is so quiet as you make your way to the glade that has become so sacred to you and your husband. You keep as silent as you can, footsteps making no rustle in the leaves underfoot; the air is too still, the silence deafening where there should be sounds of birds and insects conducting their nightly business.
You are not far from your meeting place now as even the wind falls still. You breathe a sigh of relief as you catch sight of the rushing water that will lead you to safety. He will be there to assuage all your silly fears, the thought giving you the strength to keep moving.
A sharp howl, long and guttural, pierces the air, and you freeze. It sounded far off, or maybe closer than you think; your head is in a spin as you try to judge what could have possibly made such an unearthly sound. It didn't sound like any wolf you've ever heard; it had an almost sorrowful lilt that drew you to it. Shaking it off, you creep into the glade, expecting to see him there.
Disappointment washes through you; you are alone, and now you hear another howl, closer than before.
He will understand, you think, let's go home.
You start to take the winding path back to the thick treeline, but hear cracking branches, heavy footfall, ragged breath, from the dark undergrowth.
You back up, starting to shake and sweat. You are not made for this, never have you had to protect yourself from such a beast. You look around for anything with which to defend yourself, landing on a large broken branch that looks like it might be lethal in the right hands. Shame then, that your hands have never seen combat.
Dragging your makeshift weapon, you look for somewhere to hide, terrified that the beast might have already caught your scent.
~
He doesn't know why he's here, why he would put you through the horror of seeing him in his bestial glory; all he knows is that defeat has pushed him into your radiant embrace, to soothe the heavy losses he had suffered and prepare the fortitude of his mind to face his master's wrath.
His defeat at the hands of some Elf-Maia and her dog had shamed him; he could not go back to Angband now, not now Tol-in-Gaurhoth was lost, and all he craved was your touch, for you to wash away all his ills.
He pads through the forest, trailing a silent darkness in his wake, all birds and beasts fleeing before him. His black blood drips and pools in the undergrowth, scorching the earth.
His mind is clouded with pain and shame, something with which he is not familiar, and would not suffer again given the option, how it turns his stomach, and makes him crave nothing but your sweet embrace. Where are you? He can think of nothing else, having travelled so far in search of salvation.
The breeze betrays you, carrying the sweet scent of the berries you love to eat, the oils you use on your skin, and he groans, a deep visceral sound that would usually shake the foundations of Middle Earth, if only he were not so deeply tired.
He follows your scent, instinctively, unthinking as to how you might receive him. As he gets closer, his soul sings for you, his heart swells, and he can think of nothing else.
Exhausted, he reaches out to you, tendrils of his mind softly caressing yours. He hears your soft sigh and follows the sweet sound to your doom.
~
The forest around you turns deathly silent, the very air robbed of its oxygen in a split second. You hear only the crack of fallen branches and the heavy movement of something massive in the dark.
You should be terrified, why do you not run?
Quaking in your hiding spot, you find yourself rooted to the spot, crouching and unable to move, doomed to listen to the beast in the dark.
You feel it then; a darkness in your mind, touching your thoughts, and the terror grows. The scent of sweat dripping down your back only helps him find you sooner, and as you hear him approach, the tremor in your fingers grows.
If you can only stay quiet, perhaps it will ignore you, perhaps you will be blessed tonight. You screw your eyes shut and pray.
Alas, a hot huff of breath sweeps the side of your face, and you scream, you can't help but keep screaming, even after you've picked up your weapon and blindly struck the great beast, before you roll out from under it and run as fast as your legs can carry you.
He shakes his head, blind rage now overtaking him, even as he sees you, scents you, wants nothing more than to cover and embrace you.
The pair of you race through the forest; you know it as well as any of your people, all the shortcuts and secret places. But your quick light tread is vastly outmatched by his sheer ferocity, and in your panic, you take a wrong turn, meeting a sharp cliff face where you were sure there was a waterfall you might have lost the beast in. You curse your folly and spin around, awaiting your fate.
Two great paws come to rest either side of you, as its wolven face bears its teeth and snarls, black blood dripping from the gash you inflicted on its temple.
You can do nothing but shut your eyes, shaking in terror as the beast takes you in, sniffing at you and panting. Any moment now, this will all be over...
AmariĂŤ... love... need you...
The unspoken voice you hear is somehow familiar, deeper and more guttural, and yet...
You reach out your hand, offering your soothing touch freely. Baleful golden eyes watch you carefully as he closes the gap and leans in to your trembling touch. You should run.
"Mairon..." The beast's eyes soften as you look up at him, and you realise a terrible sorcery is at play here.
You feel his mind caress yours and you relax, easing into the unfamiliar feeling of fur beneath your fingers. You trace the sinewy muscle of his neck a while, assuring him in hushed tones that you've got him, that everything will be alright, that you're here, his horrors are over.
"Oh, my love..." You run your fingers over him, suddenly mindful of the wound you'd inflicted yourself only moments ago.
In your inspection, you find many more, deep gouges and bitemarks that have festered, and your heart aches for him. How could this have happened? Who did this to him?
"Come, love, I have you now," you grasp his fur on his neck and lead him back to the river, careful not to touch the open sores in his sides yet.
He staggers into the rushing current, clear water turning black as he submerges, washing off his defeat and returning little by little to you.
You wade in after him, ripping a strip off your hem; how times had changed since last you did this for him, having now ruined two dresses to tend his wounds.
You soak the fabric and begin to dab away the grime and viscera, so that you can start to heal him with every spell your people know for such injuries.
It doesn't take long before his whines of pain become pleasurable, enjoying your touch and the cool water on his skin. His mind is less fraught now, more present, and before long he begins to panic. His sweet wife, his innocent wife, had seen him for what he truly is, a Lord of Beasts, monstrous and terrifying to behold, and here she was, running her gentle fingers over him as if he was the most beautiful creature she'd ever seen.
You notice his panic and immediately go to soothe him, rubbing circles over his muzzle, trying not to overthink just how strange the situation had become.
"It's okay, love, I'm here, you're okay," you whisper softly, "who did this to you, love?"
Trying to soothe him was proving difficult as anger begins to bubble in the pit of your stomach; who was responsible for this sorcery? You would rip them limb from limb, your gentle nature be damned.
That blasted Elf-Maia hybrid and her brute of a dog, he thinks bitterly, reliving his utter defeat once more.
"My darling, you can tell me, who did this to you? Transformed you this way?" Surely it was a curse that could be broken, that you could face together.
Oh. Oh, no. His blood runs cold. Yes, of course, that's what you mean; how were you to know he could transform himself at will, that this was a form he liked to take in battle. Used to like. It might be a while before he chose a wolfish form again, given everything that had happened with LĂşthien.
He goes to stand, to leave the river and avoid your questioning, but his legs give out from under him. Your heart wrenches at the sight of your beloved suffering so, how it pained you.
"I have you, don't move yet," you say softly with an encouraging smile. "I've got you."
More murmuring in Quenya, pressing your hands to his wounds, feeling your energy flow into him, all of your efforts were enough to finally restore him, and you both emerge from the river into the cool night air, sodden and freezing.
He collapses on the river bank, with you quick to follow; your healing had taken a lot out of you. Shivering, you lean into him for his furnace-like warmth, blessedly finding him already nearly dry.
You're so tired, your questions can wait until after you've rested, and so you do.
~
It is still hours before dawn when you wake to the unfamiliar sensation of warm silky fur on your cheek, lining your body, encompassing you in a blissful heat.
Fear jolts any sleepiness from your mind, and you try to stand. But his great limbs keep you from moving, and he rumbles his disapproval deep in his chest.
Suddenly you remember.
"Mairon?" You whisper, "darling, how do you feel?"
I was fine. His words are still unspoken, heard directly in your mind.
"Was? Can I help, love?" You worry that your work is not done, that perhaps there are ills that you have not yet healed.
Go back to sleep, your presence is soothing, my sweet.
"I can soothe you while awake!" Your tone is indignant and his chest quakes with what sounds like laughter, if you're not mistaken.
I didn't say you could not, but now you're awake, there are other urges I'd rather have you satisfy, Uthaessel.
Other urges... you blush as you realise what he means. He only calls you by that epithet when he craves you so particularly, that nothing else might sate him but hours between your thighs. 'Temptation', indeed.
"Well, you've recovered quickly." You laugh, brushing his side and finding his gaping wounds already healed over.
"And while you're like this, my darling, I'm not quite sure how that would work." You do have an idea, but it might be... uncomfortable.
He groans, deep in his chest, making your whole body vibrate with it; maybe a little discomfort wouldn't be so bad?
I have many ideas, precious one, all you need to do is lie there and relax for me...
He rolls you over, encircling you wholly with his powerful frame. He is so massive that he dwarfs you twice, thrice over. You look down and your eyes widen, blood rushing to your cheeks; how is that going to fit?
In an effort to slow him down, you ask him again, "how did this happen, love? You couldn't tell me before, would you tell me now?"
He sighs, a massive huff of breath that seems to scold you for disrupting his conquest of you.
It is no curse, that much you do not have to fear.
"If it is no curse, then what happened? Love, this is hardly natural, unless I am missing something important?" You laugh a little, nervously, wishing for him to assuage your anxiety.
He simply stares down at you with those bottomless golden eyes, concocting some explanation that will appease you.
How would you react, he wonders, if he told you he told you he is in fact Lord of Beasts and Werewolves, able to take on any form he wishes? Or would you prefer a simple lie, or the wiping of it from your mind altogether?
You are his wife, you are bound together in a way no force can sunder, you could not reject him if you tried. But he fears your disgust, would do anything to avoid it.
But the truth would set him free. No more lies, no more deception, he could truly be himself with you. The freedom that would afford, the burdens he would no longer have to carry alone.
So for once, he settles on the truth, mostly.
This is simply one of the forms I can take. You know I am no Elf, I can do things your kind could only dream of.
He nuzzles your neck, licking a long stripe up the sensitive flesh between your ear and your collarbone.
"I know that," you whimper, his rough tongue laving your throat, making your toes curl into the dirt. "But this is new, this is-" a whine escapes your lips as he nips at your neck- "unnatural."
You feel his song in the depths of your soul, how sweetly he pines for you. Your soul cannot help but answer, harmonising with his every touch, until you are squirming under his iron embrace, pupils blown, arousal overtaking you quicker than it ever has before.
*******
His massive limbs cage you in, and panic begins to set in again; surely your husband would never hurt you, but in this state you weren't sure he had the control to keep his nature at bay.
"I need to know-" You brace against him, trying with all your might to release yourself from his roaming tongue, rasping over your skin; sharp teeth snared in your dress pull in one fluid motion and you're left bare under his gaze.
Need to know what, my pet? His tone is adoring as ever, but impatient; he knows what plagues your thoughts and he still isn't sure he wants you to know.
"Need to know... need to know who you are." You force out the words as he seeks out where to lick, where to bite, trying to swallow your pleas; he cocks his head, as if your question is a mystery.
You know who I am, love. His length begins to prod at you insistently, and you clench your thighs together, nervous at the thought of him claiming you like this, stalling for time even as the melody of his fĂŤa seduces you.
"No... no, I don't think I do," You pant, fingers clutching at his neck, drawing him in and pulling him away, your body betraying your mind as you become more and more unsure of what you want from him.
"How? How can you change your face like that? Your entire being? I don't understand..." You trail off with a whine as he begins to worship your body with his tongue, covering your breasts with a swipe, dragging slowly lower until he finds your mound, gods you smell divine.
The bestial part of his mind begins to take over, ignoring your questioning, wrapped in the scent of you, the soft flesh under his tongue that he could so easily ruin with a drag of his teeth if he desired, your panting lips forming words that fall on deaf ears; the only sounds he now listens for are your moans and pleas.
"Mairon... I need to know..." You realise far too late that this is no longer your husband, and that the beast before you is going to rut you into the earth without pity.
Terror grips you, hand in hand with arousal, and the fresh wetness between your legs spurs him on, groaning at the scent of you, all he can think of as you writhe beneath him. You try to get a better look at the flesh that is about to ravage you, but it is hidden in his fur. Perhaps that is for the best, you muse, far-off in your thoughts now, waiting for him to ruin you.
He sniffs at the dampness between your thighs, a groan rumbling through him as he bears his sharp canines, dangerous and gleaming even in the dark of the night; perhaps especially so. Even with the forest at your fingertips, all you can smell is him, musk and smoke and iron, he smells like himself but stronger, every inch of him reeking of the man you love but more pungent, inescapable; a heady mix that does nothing to dispel the coil in your abdomen that he will delight to spring.
"My love, darling, please, Mairon..." you try every which way to get his attention, to bring him back to you.
You shiver as he laps at you, tasting you every which way, your nipples peaking as he runs his tongue over them before letting them chill in the night's cool breeze. He lowers himself slightly to wrap himself around you more completely, your soft skin now pressed against his thick fur, the perfect companion to stave off the chill.
You feel him pant against your neck, his thick length weeping against your legs, firmly pressed shut as you rock slightly to relieve the terrible pressure he has built in your clit.
You bury your face in the green foliage under your head, still pressing your thighs together as if he will yet be denied. He noses at your jaw, demanding your attention; pressing his long teeth against your throat, demanding your obedience.
The inhuman face gazing down on you does nothing to dispel the visceral fear that grips you. This is your husband, the man you love, whose soul you share; but none of this seems to matter now, as empty golden eyes stare you down, awaiting the inevitable.
Tears of fear begin to fall unbidden as your heart hammers in your chest, as you realise that despite every instinct in you telling you to run, you still want him, and he knows it.
The second you loosen your thigh muscles, he is there with his tongue, licking and sucking and making your toes curl. He is too rough, too fast, and before long a tiny nip at your clit sends stars behind your eyes, warmth exploding and cascading through you.
With you distracted at your peak, he takes his opportunity.
Hot breath on your face, soft fur under your fingers, giving you purchase, grounding you, a white hot pain at your mound-
Your scream echoes through the forest as he buries himself within you, no gentleness, just brutal force.
He allows you a moment to accommodate him, but it would take many more to truly adjust to his monstrous size. He pulls back, your tiny sigh of relief cut short as he thrusts back in, deeper, longer, stroking every inch of you.
You feel a tendril of his mind caress yours, and you reach for it, cling to it, make his power your own as you channel every intelligible thought into not being spilt apart.
As his power and your healing magic do their work, the blazing pain lessens, relieved to a dull ache, that only invites him to do his worst.
He would tear you apart, put you back together, over and over if he could. As he reaches the height of his pleasure, he is merciless, rutting you like a mindless animal, emptying and filling you quicker than you can draw breath, gasping around the sheer inhuman size of him.
And you enjoy it.
As the pain recedes, all you can think is of his cock filling you over and over, tongue rasping everywhere he can reach, guttural groans punctuating every thrust, as you drag your nails down his forearms, desperate to ground yourself in any sensation not emanating from your heated core.
With an unearthly growl, his thick hot seed paints your insides, filling you to bursting, and the coil in your abdomen does indeed spring again; as he comes down from his own high, his mind returns to him piece by piece, and he realises what he has put you through. You quake around him, whimpering and clinging to him, nails deep in his heavily muscled back.
He licks the tears from your face gently, still engulfed in your wet heat, unwilling to be parted just yet. He rears up to get a look at how well you take him, to see how you stretch and mould for him.
That is all he wants after all, for you to be moulded by him, for him.
He nuzzles your neck as you lie exhausted underneath him.
Love... precious girl... my Uthaessel... did so well for me...
You give him a sleepy smile, idly running your fingers through the fur on his chest, suddenly overcome with the urge to sleep for a week.
When he can, he slips out of you, curling you into his side, as his seed drips between your thighs. He'll clean you up later, he thinks, but perhaps for now he'll just watch you sleep.
*******
When you wake, he has already transformed himself, smooth skin and golden hair that you love so much, but your sticky thighs remind you uncomfortably of what happened last night.
You crane your neck to look at him, to assure yourself it is really him. He gives you that same gentle adoring smile he always does; your heart melts as you can't help but return it, but your questions still plague you. He had never told you he could take the guise of a beast, and you worry that something wicked lies under that glorious visage.
"Mairon..." You try to keep your tone neutral, but he knows your heart too well.
"I know, love," he gathers you to him, resting his chin on your head. "Can we not? At least for now."
You do wonder whether to indulge him, but the suspicions gnawing at your gut will not cease.
"I want to know... I need to know what happened."
You expect him to fight you on it tooth and nail, but he vowed to himself last night, the truth would out. Mostly.
And so he tells you. His humiliation at the hands of LĂşthien and Huan, his command over beasts and vampires, even where he really comes from. Your eyes widen and your breath shallows with each detail, reaching a crescendo as he tells you of Morgoth, his voice low as if his master could hear him even here.
"A servant of Morgoth?" You can't catch your breath, you've long stood up, pacing and wringing your hands more urgently the longer you let him speak.
"Why are you telling me this?" You stop still and ask sharply, making him wince at the tone you've never used on him before.
"You asked, my love," he looks confused, as if the truth weren't more horrifying than your husband simply liking to spend time in wolf's clothing.
"But why are you telling me now? You could have continued your vile deception? Kept me in the dark?" Your stomach drops as you wonder aloud his intentions.
"You've had everything you wanted from me, that must be it. And now you tell me you are a servant of the Enemy-" your thoughts are interrupted as he now stands and moves to take your hands in his.
A churning fear overtakes your anger as you realise he is the one your people only speak of in hushed whispers, his very name accursed to the tongue: Sauron.
"You... you are the terror my people fear in these woods. You have plagued them, stolen them, and then you come to me and ply me with your sweetness and lies?"
"You misjudge me, my love. I will never stop wanting you," he implores, as he takes your face in his hand, willing you to be silent and listen.
"My appetite for you will never be sated, such is my devotion. I could never cast you aside, could never let you leave me." He sounds so damn sincere, your heart pleads with you to listen while your head tells you to run.
"You wanted the truth, so I gave it to you. If I did not think you could handle it, I would not have troubled you with such evils." His eyes search yours for any sign you understand his plight. "I told you my name, I never lied to you. But I could not tell you about Melkor in the beginning, how could I, when you would have scorned me?"
"You don't know that," you mutter, still shell-shocked, world in pieces, but offended by the accusation all the same.
"If this is your reaction, then I am sure you would."
"Are you blaming me? Lies by omission are still lies!" Your indignation stirs you a little, your mind screaming at you to fight back.
He does you the courtesy to look mollified slightly, before grasping your hands once more, tracing circles in your palm with his thumb.
"AmariĂŤ, my sweet, even your name is too good for me, how could I have won you if you had known the company I am forced to keep?"
It's that imploring look, the gentle tone, and-
"Forced? What do you mean, forced?" Even in your shell-shocked anger, the notion of your husband forced to do anything hurts you deeply.
"I hardly serve Him willingly, my love, no one does. His will is..." he searches for the right word, the word that will convince you, "insurmountable."
You take a deep breath through your nose, finding nothing in your mind but the sweet scent of smoke and musk and iron, the scent of your husband that softens your heart once more.
Your deep exhale releases much of the tension within you; of course, he is but an unwilling participant in Morgoth's designs, of course.
"This is your one chance, Mairon, you have one chance to tell me everything, no lies, no deceit." You raise your eyebrows at him, daring him to argue, but he simply sighs and pinches the bridge of his nose.
"I have done, love, you know everything."
"No. Details, and lots of them, now."
It takes from sunrise to sunset, but he tells you everything. How Morgoth seduced him to his will; how He alone has the power to change Middle Earth in the way your lover has planned; how Sauron realised far too late that His destruction was not the balance he craved.
"And you cannot leave Him?" Your voice is hoarse after so much time spent listening, but you have to ask.
Sauron grimaces, an expression that twists his pretty face, makes it almost unrecognisable.
"One does not simply leave Melkor's service." His tongue picks over the words carefully, watching for your reaction.
"Morgoth." You interject, "his name is Morgoth." After all the heartbreak and destruction He has wrought on your kind, you cannot stand to hear his divine name spoken once more.
"Forgive me, love, it is... difficult to break the habit when He himself would flay me for even thinking the name your people have given him." He cannot help but smirk a moment when your face drops, and you reach for him as if to comfort him.
He takes you in his golden embrace, holding you tightly as if you'd leave him the moment you were free.
"I was so afeared that you would reject my affections, I could not possibly tell you, and as time passed, I could not bear to ruin what we share." He nuzzles your neck affectionately, as if he has already won you over.
You are so torn, your heart and head fighting a losing battle. If he truly is an unwilling accomplice, then he needs you now more than ever to face the darkness. But the darkness was a terror you never planned on witnessing in all its treachery.
It is a long time before you can forgive his lies, but the truth will indeed set you both free.

Gally x fem oc (smut)
Summary: Gally and Tiny fuck in the glade somewhere in the open, with a huge risk of being caught. Also, it's dark out.
Warning: fem OC has a name, smut, risk of being caught, cussing, SMUT.
I wrote this because I couldn't get it out of my head, and I want to get back into writing. So I thought I'd start off with small one-shots to get some practice in. Don't forget to comment and leave your thoughts! I'd love to hear them all! I appreciate blunt honesty!
âWe aren't- fuck supposed to be doing this, Tiny,â Gally pants, the girl in question shoving a hand over his mouth as a few gladers stumble by. âSomeone could catch us.â
âOh come on Handsome, we aren't breaking any rules,â Tiny breathes shakily, completely bottomed out while trying to recover from her last orgasm. âBesides, you shouldâve thought about that 4 orgasms ago.â
Gally relaxes as the pleasure spreads throughout his body, âDid you spread this pallet all by yourself? How romantic.â
âWell, I was aiming for comfort, you know Iâd do anything for you. Besides,â Tiny hums, cradling his head, her thumbs rubbing the apple of his cheeks as her boobs stick to his collarbone. âI think this might be my favorite position, Iâve got the best view.â
Tiny resumes the thrusts of her hips, slow, deep, and hard. Both legs burning from the low squat she was in. A sight that makes the boy feel as though he is losing his mind.
Gally couldn't remember how he got here. He swore to himself that the first time would be the last, but heâs a teenage boy with crazy hormones he didn't even know he had until Tiny. He should stop this. He shouldâve stopped this a while ago.Â
âSpeed up, Tiny,â Gally breathes out. Dammit, that was the opposite of stopping this, but Gally couldnât be bothered with any of that now. He couldnât deny himself of the girl any longer.
ââM sorry?â Tiny pants, lurching forward, a hand slamming into the ground as she stopped herself from cumming right then and there. Her knees hitting the ground as her legs started to tremor uncontrollably.
Gallyâs hands slide up Tinyâs thighs, spreading her ass as he pecks her cheek, âFuck me like you mean it.â
Tinyâs heart skips a beat, proceeding to do exactly what he told her to, âYes sir.â
Gally's head falls back onto the pallet, his eyebrows furrowed deeply in concentration, losing himself to the sticky sounds they were making. âShit, I think youâre trying to take my soul.â
âI want a lot more than that.â Tiny grins watching Gallyâs jaw drop open, cumming dryly. âWhat was that?â
âI donât have anything left to-â Tiny cuts Gally off with a hand around his throat and a grip on his balls.
âI know you, Gally. I know what you are. Youâre a slut. A slut that jumps to please others, and I told you I wanted more than your soul, Handsome. So youâll give me what I want, right? Iâll be more than pleased,â Tiny hums, shushing the boy as he starts to groan loudly, thick and hot ropes of his semen filling the girl up perfectly as she continues to massage his balls. Milking him of everything he had to give her.
âRelax, Gally. Youâll pass out if you keep panting like that,â Tiny says, lying down on his chest.
âSee, that wasn't so hard, was it? Good boy.â Tiny praises, kissing his forehead.
âYouâre a terrible person,â Gally chuckles, trying to catch his breath.

hai, baby ...I know your request is closed now. And if you don't mind, can I leave my request when your blog is open? ( If no that's okay, you can delete this request) alright....So, I really like the butterfly demon that you made for Inuyasha and Sesshomaru on request. And I thought what if the fem s/o butterfly demon had met Sesshomaru and Inuyasha ( separate please) when they were little (the fem s/o butterfly demon was also still a child at that time) Dancing on a hill or mountain with the moonlight shining on her and her beautiful butterfly wings,Instead of being surprised by them Femin s/o elegantly stretches out her hand to invite them to play or dance in the middle of the forest . ( Headcannon)
Definitely! Iâm very glad you enjoyed the idea, all of my requests are always so creative! I wouldnât write so much if it wasnât for all the vivid prompts. The whole atmosphere you described immediately reminded me, for some reason, of this song from 'A Troll's Fairy Tale' Otome game. It just set up the whole mood of the story.
Inuyasha/Sesshomaru x Butterfly Demon! Reader Headcanons: First meeting
Featuring a young Inuyasha and Sesshomaru and their first encounter with the child demon.
Inuyasha
Inuyasha was never a child to cause trouble. He always clung to his mother's soft sleeves, quickly following behind her as his tiny footsteps barely made a sound against the polished tatami. So whatever possessed him that night is, to this day, beyond his understanding. Nonetheless, on a certain night with full moon, he snuck outside and ran across the tall grass and up the hill until he reached a glade.
It was almost as if someone had called him by his name, a mumbled, merely audible whisper echoing from the distance. Heâd been to this place many times before with his mother, yet now it looked entirely different. His small body cowered before the crooked, swaying shadows of the tall trees and he wanted to run away, doubting his intentions. Thatâs when the clouds cleared and the patch of open greenery was once again bathed by pale light. He hadnât noticed the other person. A child, like him, carelessly and effortlessly dancing around, indifferent to the world. Although it couldnât have been a human. Inuyasha was very much familiar with demons given his own family, but heâd never seen one like this. Adorning her back, a pair of sheer, colorful wings fluttered gently in the wind.
He mustâve been staring rather intently, because the mysterious nocturnal artist finally noticed his presence. You seemed pleased by the idea of having company, so you enthusiastically skipped and twirled your way over, extending an inviting hand. He barely grazed his fingers against yours when the worried shouts of his mother startled him out of his trance. âI think I have to go back homeâ, he muttered apologetically. âMom is looking for me.â And with that, he begun sprinting away, occasionally looking back to see if the butterfly girl would still be there.
Sesshomaru
Even as a child, Sesshomaru had always been aloof and independent. It wasnât uncommon for him to disappear at random times, so no one would question it, especially given heâd always return safely. Sometimes he just needed time to himself and away from others, in order to gather his thoughts and also train, hoping to close the gap between him and his father. Other times heâd wander out of pure curiosity, out of the desire to explore.
It was during one of his nightly expeditions that he felt the sudden desire to follow along a certain path. He knew very well where it led, to one of the cozily hidden glades heâd visit for his sword training. Though heâd never been there after dark, so this was a first. Once he reached the forest clearing, he shuddered slightly at the cold wind. It was unexpectedly chilly for late spring and the cherry blossom branches creaked with the breeze, scattering clumps of petals. He surveyed the area with his big amber eyes and spotted some movement ahead. A girl his age. Or rather, a demon. He involuntarily reached for his sword, expectantly. You were too focused on your movements to realize his presence. A pirouette under the moonlight, and your wings spread open theatrically once you were finished. Sesshomaru was mesmerized.
You heard the quiet gasp and turned to your audience, chuckling at the young boyâs baffled expression. âYou can join, too. I wonât mind.â You said reassuringly. Sesshomaru huffed, embarrassed to be caught so beguiled. âWhy would I do something so silly?â He retorted, trying to play it cool. He folded his arms and looked away, uninterested. âYou can just say you donât know how to dance.â You teased, cheekily. This seemed to have hit a nerve, as the boy glared at you and answered with a puffed up chest, âS-so what about it, Iâm a warrior, not a dancer!â You shrugged and hopped on a nearby rock for some elevation, continuing your little dance. As annoyed as he sounded, Sesshomaru continued to observe you, a faint blush warming his cheeks.

maroon | thomas x fem!reader
âthe burgundy on my t-shirt when you splashed your wine into meâ
during his first night in the glade, thomas (quite literally) bumps into a girl.
âand how the blood rushed into my cheeks, so scarlet, it was maroonâ
as more time passes, thomas becomes closer with y/n (very close), but that changes after they escape the maze.
âthe mark you saw on my collarbone, the rust that grew between telephonesâ
warnings: itâs bad, kissing, maze runner, swearing and whatever (i never know what to write here)
âthe lips i used to call home, so scarlet, it was maroonâ
âž
âour med-jacks, clint and jeff.â newt introduced to the greenie as he showed the boy around. âand this isâ woah, watch out.â
the greenie hadnât been watching where he was going and bumped right into you as you walked past, spilling the drink he had been holding all over your shirt.
âoh, god, i am soâŚâ he paused as he met your eyes. a girl? âsorry.â
you looked down at your soaking wet shirt and a few boys around snickered.
âthanks.â you smiled sarcastically and turned on your heel, heading towards the small hut that sat not far from the homestead.
ânice one, greenie.â newt clapped him on the back. âi think you just ruined her day.â
âwho was that?â the boy asked, watching as you disappeared behind the door of the hut.
ây/n. sheâs one of the runners.â newt answered. âalso the gladeâs only girl.â
âoh.â
inside you were changing your shirt, muttering in annoyance as you did so.
your favorite shirt (out of the five or so you owned) was now covered in gallyâs foul-smelling drink thanks to that greenie.
after changing, you went outside to join the party again, only for it to be declared over moments after the greenie remembered his name.
thomas.
âuh, hey.â he jogged over to you as you walked back to your hut. âiâm, um, iâm sorry about before. is your shirt okay?â
âitâll survive.â you shrugged. âi guess.â
âso, youâre a runner?â he asked, walking with you. âyou go into the maze with that minho guy?â
âyep.â you glanced at him. âare you just going to follow me the whole way?â
âoh, sorry.â he slowed down. âum, iâll go now.â
âokay.â you stared.
âsee you around, y/n.â
you furrowed your eyebrows. âright. see you aroundâŚâ
âthomas.â
âsee you around, thomas.â
while it may not have seemed like it, you and thomas became pretty close friends over the next week or so, and you felt dumb to admit that you even had feelings for him.
he was in the same boat. except thomas was head-over-heels in love with you.
you kissed once. when the glade was being attacked by grievers, he kissed you before the two of you split up.
so after your group escaped the maze, the two of you did your best to stick together.
the two of you sat on the floor of the room your group had been forced into after being âsavedâ.
your legs were stretched out to sit in his lap, and his hands sat on top of them.
the rest of the group was around, all full after eating more food than theyâd ever seen in their lives.
you couldnât focus on the conversation that was going on between teresa and the boys, because all you could focus on was how thomasâ fingers drew small shapes on the bare skin of your leg where your pants had rolled up a little.
you wanted to tell him how you felt. you wanted to kiss him again. but everyone else was around, and the thought of being in front of everyone made you uncomfortable.
you had no clue how thomas did his whole leader thing.
when the door to the room opened, everyone jumped up and ran over, eager to know exactly what was going on.
the man who had opened the door introduced himself as mr. janson and led your group through the compound.
thomas held your hand the whole time.
âfirst things first, letâs do something about that smell.â
the boys were being taken to a different room to you and teresa. just before your hand slipped from his, you kissed thomas on the cheek. simple enough.
that night you properly kissed again and he asked you to be his girlfriend, and despite all of your worries, you said yes.
it wasnât long after that when your group had to leave the compound with another boy, aris. you still hadnât escaped wicked.
you stuck by thomasâ side the whole time, or until you were separated again.
you didnât even know if he was alive, but jorge was confident he and brenda were fine.
it took a few days until you reached what jorge called marcusâ place.
you got into the party and the first thing you spotted was thomas and brenda.
kissing.
then they pulled apart, thomas said something and brenda wandered off.
thomas seemed to spin around the room until he yelled out and collapsed.
your heart was broken.
you were separated for just a few days, the longest since you had met, and he was kissing a girl he barely knew.
you couldnât even say anything to him because he was out cold. instead you had to help minho drag him upstairs and act like nothing happened.
then, after he woke up, your group was on the run again, searching for the right arm.
in the car, thomas reached his hand over and tried to take yours in his, but you pulled yours back. you didnât let him.
he looked at you. he was confused.
you didnât answer his look. you just turned your head away from him and looked out the car window.
he had no clue why you were suddenly ignoring him. not the entire drive to the mountains, not when the were taken to the right arm camp, not when brenda collapsed.
it was only when he was in the tent with her later, just after brenda woke up, when it clicked to him why.
you had seen brenda kiss him.
everything seemed to click into place at that moment, and he jumped to his feet halfway through his conversation with brenda.
âyou okay?â she asked.
âyeah. yeah, thereâs just something i need to do.â thomas looked down at her. âiâm sorry, iâll be back later.â
then he ran out of the tent.
the camp was large, and thomas had no clue where he could find you. or any of his friends for that matter.
it took about ten minutes of searching until he found you.
you were sitting alone on a rock, looking down at your feet and mumbling something to yourself.
ây/n?â
you looked up and thomas realized you had been crying.
âwhat?â
there was a twinge of bitterness in your voice, and thomas frowned. it reminded him of how you had spoken to him the night you met, when he had splashed his drink into you.
âyou okay?â
âiâm fine.â
he knew you werenât, and he ignored the obvious signs that you didnât want him around when he sat down beside you.
âwhat do you want, thomas?â you asked.
without another word, he simply wrapped his arms around you and pulled you into his chest.
at first, you thought about trying to pull away. but you didnât.
âwhyâd you kiss her? brenda?â you asked eventually. âdo you like her better? because, you know, iâll back off or whatevââ
âno, no, no, y/n.â he pulled back so he could look you in the eyes. âi could never like anyone better than i like you.â
âthen whyâ?â
âshe kissed me.â thomas told you, cupping your cheek with one hand. âwe were drugged, okay? iâŚâ
thomas winced slightly at the memory of brendaâs face after his words.
âi thought she was you.â he admitted. âwhatever that marcus guy put in that drink had me seeing the weirdest shit.â
âare you calling me weird shit?â you teased and thomasâ eyes widened.
âwhat? no.â he shook his head. âthatâs not what i meant.â
âi know. i was kidding.â
you grabbed his hand and interlocked your fingers.
âiâm sorry.â he apologized.
âdonât be. i get it now.â you shrugged.
âyeah, but i couldâve said something sooner.â
âwhen?â you asked. âwhen you were passed out? or when we were almost shot by mountain people?â
he chuckled. âokay, maybe not. butââ
âtommy, i get it. donât worry.â
the feeling of freedom and happiness that evening was short lived, and soon became a nightmare.
teresa betrayed them, wicked burned the camp to the ground, and multiple people were taken.
sonya, aris, minho and you.
thomas had lost you. he had lost the battle. but he was determined to get you and minho and everyone else back.
he would do anything he could. he would do whatever it took to get you back.

hiii i felt like ive read every single minho fic in existence & ive been dying from the lack of it so im hoping u can write ts đđź
fem!reader works for wicked and betrays the gladers w teresa (or not doesnât matter). & instead of teresa talking to minho in that one scene, its reader. reader tries to explain that its for a good cause by being slightly stern n rude about it but breaks down for the first time and softens up when she realizes that it isn't right. reader then tries to make up with it by being a lil freakyâŚ..,, (can be spice or smut idc)
HAHAHAH girl mans was literally in pain during that scene but ur so real đŠđ¤đź literally tho I feel like the fandom is slowly dying and it hurts đđ anyway, l hope I satisfied your prompt but I do apologise as I got slightly carried away at the end and added more to the plot đđŤśđź

Change | Minho x Reader
Summary: after betraying the gladers, you come face to face with one of them again. the one who captured your heart a long time ago, and you discover that feelings donât go astray.
Warnings: spicy content, mild violence, mentions of blood and gunshots
ââ
You stood in the sterile lab, the cold, fluorescent lights casting a harsh glare in the white walls. The sound of machines humming filled the room, a constant reminder of the work you were doing here.
You paused from working on your lab report, glancing over at Teresa, who was intently focused on a computer screen, analysing data. âDo you regret it, Teresa?â You asked, âBetraying them?â
Teresa didnât look up from the screen. âNo,â she replied firmly, âWeâre in the right, Y/N.â
You stared at her blankly, did she really not care about them?
âDonât think too much about it, this is our job now. Weâre here and not with them. Theyâre out there and it doesnât matter anymore.â She continued, with a slightly gentler tone.
âNot all of themâŚâ you mumbled.
Teresa looked up from her computer screen, she knew how much he meant to you back in the glade, about your secret infatuation with him. âThe tests on Minho are looking good, heâs delivering promising results Y/N. If we continue testing, weâll be closer to finding a cure.â
You nodded, but felt heavy with doubt. You had always believed in the cause, the need to find a cure and save humanity.
But seeing Minho captured and brought to the facility, subjected to tests and experiments, had stirred something inside you. Was this truly the way?
You couldnât shake the feeling that you were crossing the line but you chose to ignore that for the sake of finding the cure.
It was still early in the day and you were due for a check in session with Minho in a few minutes. The first session, and the first time seeing him since he was held captive.
You couldnât bring yourself to visit him previously, well, not until now, since it was mandatory for you to check in with your subject as a scientist.
âWell Iâm off, got a meeting.â You began packing up your items.
âGood luck. See you for a coffee later?â Teresa smiled softly, and you nodded, showing a small smile before leaving the room.
ââ
In no time, you found yourself sitting in the cold, clinical meeting room, waiting for Minho to be brought in.
You fiddled with a pen, your mind racing. When the door finally opened, and Minho was escorted in, your heart clenched at the sight of him. He looked worn, his usual fierce determination dulled by exhaustion and pain.
You sat at opposite ends of the table, the distance between you feeling both emotional and physical.
âMinho,â you began, trying to keep your voice steady.
Minho didnât respond, his eyes refusing to meet yours.
âYou have to understand where Teresa and I are coming fromâŚâ You continued, âThis is for a good cause. Weâre trying to save the world.â
Again, he didnât move a muscle nor did he respond. But you could feel the tension between the two of you, the atmosphere was uneasy. The guilt of bringing him here, away from the other gladers weighed heavily on your shoulders.
You felt your resolve wavering but you forced yourself to remain stern, âYou know how much we need to find a cure. Sometimes sacrifices have to be made.â
You sighed and continued. âThereâs a girl here, her name is Cheyenne. You can help her Minho, weâre so close to finding a cure. You can help hundreds of infected people, think about it. It just takes a bit of sacrificeâŚâ
Minhoâs eyes narrowed, anger flashing in them. âBy torturing and experimenting on people? How can you justify that.â
âThere is no other way.â You sneered, âWeâre doing the best we can.â
âYour best looks a lot like your worst.â He spat, clenching his fists through his handcuffs.
âAt least weâre doing something about it! Unlike some people!â You slammed your pen on the table, frustrated with the amount of confusion running through your head.
Your head was thinking differently than your heart. You had certain thoughts, but out came opposing ones.
âYouâre no better than WCKD,â He was spiteful, âYouâre just like them.â
Your gaze softened, you shook your head slightly.
âThe Y/N I know wouldnât have done this.â He added, scoffing.
The weight of his accusation hit hard. You had always prided yourself on being different, empathetic, wanting to help people. But now, you felt the full force of your actions crashing down in you. Tears welled up in your eyes, and you couldnât hold them back any longer.
âIâm sorry,â you whispered, your voice breaking, âI just wanted to helpâŚI thought I was doing the right thing, but now, I donât know anymore.â There had to be another way to cure humanity, this was straight up torture.
Minhoâs expression softened slightly, seeing you break down for the first time. âIf you really want to help, you need to stop this.â
You took a deep breath, the decision forming in your mind. You stood up and walked around the table, closing the distance between you. âI never wanted to hurt you, Minho.â You confessed, âIâve alwaysâŚloved you.â
He scanned your face, eyes darting from your eyes to lips, as you leaned in. Your lips brushing against his, before forcefully attaching.
Little did you know, that Minho too, shared your feelings. You had always admired him, his leadership, fearlessness, and the way he cared for other gladers, especially you.
Those moments where he paid extra close attention to you, wasnât just because he cared for you like everyone else, but because he had feelings for you. You were always his first priority.
âShuck, Iâve been wanting to do this to you for so long.â Minho mumbled into the kiss, as he pulled you onto his lap despite having his hands cuffed.
âPlease forgive me Minho, I canât bear to see you like this anymore. I want to stop this, stop WCKD and find the others.â You were straddling him, and pulled away from the kiss.
His response was leaning in for another kiss. The kiss was filled with desperation and regret, a silent plea for forgiveness.
You wrapped your arms around his neck, tugging on his hair lightly, while he pulled you closer to him, fully closing the gap between you.
He bit your lip slightly, you left out a soft moan in response. Your lips moved in sync, they became sloppy, desperate and hungry kisses. You craved more, you missed him badly, and this proximity was exactly what the both of you needed.
The fact that his was growing harder beneath you, and how wet you already were, made it evident that the both of you were touch deprived, and all your feelings had burst out in this session.
âMinhoâŚâ you moaned, as he began kissing your neck, finding your sweet spot and sucking on it until he left a mark.
âLooks like weâre both tagged now.â He smirked, his eyes still tired and weak, but a tinge of something else was shown, forgiveness.
You now couldnât imagine how much the betrayal mustâve hurt him especially. But the past is in the past, you wanted to move forward and truly make up for your heinous actions.
You planted a gentle kiss on his forehead, âIâm never going to let you get hurt, ever again.â You looked down at his handcuffs, and grazed your thumb above them, âI donât have the keys to this on meâŚthey should be in the lab somewhere.â
You got off his lap, âAs much as Iâd like to continue, we need to get you out of here,â determination hardening your voice, âIâm going to help you escape.â
Minho looked at her, taken aback by your sudden change of heart, âWhy would you do that? Never-mind meâŚwhat will WCKD do to you if they find out?â
âI donât care about WCKD anymore. I realise now that I canât justify what weâve done,â You replied, âAnd Iâm not letting them hurt you again, I care about you Minho.â
He nodded firmly, âWhat can I do to help?â
ââ
You grabbed the handcuff keys from your lab, un-cuffing Minho swiftly. He shook his wrists and cupped your cheeks, giving you a quick peck on the lips, âThank you.â
As you made your way through the compound, you led the way. Using your clearance to bypass security systems and unlock doors.
It was all havoc. Alarms sounding, people rushing to flee something, gunshots erupting. There had been a sudden attack on WCKD and the Last City, and you mentally thanked yourself for switching to the right side on time.
When you encountered guards, you fought together, defending Minho. Your movements synchronised and steady.
You grabbed a fallen guardâs weapon, tossing another to Minho. You defended each other fiercely, a silent understanding between you. The both of you werenât just fighting for survival, you were fighting for each other.
As Minho rounded a corner, he bumped into Thomas and Newt, who were searching for him in the compound.
Minho reunited with the two of them, the three of them sharing a relieving hug. âMinho!â Thomas beamed.
You followed soon behind, seeing Minho embraced in a hug.
Thomas saw you and raised his weapon instinctively, and in the chaos, a shot rang out. Pain seared through your leg, and you crumpled to the ground.
âY/N!â Minho shouted, dropping to his knees beside you. He turned to Thomas, âSheâs with us again! She helped me escape.â
Thomas lowered his weapon, guilt washing over his face. âSorry Y/N,â he stammered, his eyes regretful, âI didnât knowâŚitâs good, good to have you back with us.â He affirmed.
Minho carefully lifted you into his arms, cradling you into his chest. âWeâve got to get out of here. Sheâs hurt.â
They moved quickly, Minho carrying you bridal style as you navigated through the compound. You clung to him, breaths shallowed and pained. The warmth of his body was comforting and reassuring against you.
âHang on,â he whispered, âWeâre almost there.â
When the four of you finally burst out the building, the cool night air hit you like a wave. You stumbled into the open, the dark sky stretching above you lot.
âYou did it,â you murmured, a weak smile tugging at your lips, you had lost a lot of blood in your leg. âWe did it.â
Minho held you tighter, his face close to yours. âYouâre safe now,â he said softly, âWeâre going to be okay.â
Thomas and Newt followed closely behind, their expressions a mix of concern and determination. They had all made it out, but your injury weighed heavily on them.
âWe need to get her to safety,â Thomas said, his voice urgent, âIâll get Brenda and the others to come to us.â
Minho nodded, his grip on you unwavering. âI wonât let anything happen to you.â He promised.
As you moved away from the compound, you felt a sense of peace wash over you. Despite the pain, despite the uncertainty of your future, you knew you were where you needed to beâby Minhoâs side, fighting for a better tomorrow. Together, you would face whatever came next, your hearts united in your quests for freedom and redemption.

áŚFrom afar | Newt
Your feet pounded on the hard ground, your heavy pants echoing through the hard rock walls. You turned your head back every so often, the sound of screeching of metal on rock not much further behind you, forcing you to quicken your pace.
A mere few minutes ago, you were peacefully resting on one of the many walls inside the maze, you were unaware of the Griever close by until it was too late. You could have run straight back to the Glade, but you couldn't risk letting the Griever close to the doors and putting in danger the rest of the girls.
Your lungs burned, terribly so, but you didn't stop. You couldn't. It all backfired when you turned the corner and found yourself in a dead end. You heard the roar of the Griever too close for comfort and without thinking, you ran straight to the end wall, grabbing onto one of the many vines and pulling yourself upward.
You looked down when you deemed yourself to be high enough, a mistake really, because in a flash, the Griever snapped the vine you were holding onto. The fall felt like it went by in slow motion, and in those few seconds, you quickly assumed your death. You felt a sharp sting on your side. Did the Griever sting you? Well, you were a goner anyway, what did it matter. Your vision began to blur, black spots engulfing your sight until all you saw was pitch black, and then, unconsciousness.

Minho ran around the maze, seeing nothing out of the ordinary, as per usual. When he turned a corner, his feet abruptly stopped.
"What the..."
A few steps in front of him laid a body, a female body. As he slowly stepped closer, he immediately took note of your sickly looking skin. His eyes landed on a spot on your arm, or rather a bite. There were dark protruding veins going up your arm, the sight bad enough to make anyone grimace.
That's when Minho snapped out of it and came to a quick realizations. You were stung by a Griever. But how did you get here? Where did you come from? Who are you?
Despite the thousands of questions flying through his mind, he knew if he didn't take you back to the Glade you'd be a goner. He gently lifted you in his arms and raced back as fast as he could.
As expected, he got a lot of stares and was asked many questions he simply could not answer.
"For the last time Alby, I don't know. I found her laying on the ground, what was i supposed to do, leave her there?"
Under all the sudden chaos, Newt, a natural diplomat in these situations, was uncharacteristically quiet. He simply did not know how to feel about any of it.
Eventually you recovered, gave your side of the story to Alby and began your new life in a new place. Undoubtedly it was hard. Recovering from the sting was a process filled with agony and confusing thoughts. Settling down in a place full of boys whose horomones skyrocketed was just as hard. Despite the uncomfortableness of it all, you began to befriend the right people and soon enough you had gained your place as a Runner.
Through all of this, Newt had made sure to stay far far away from you, watching you without making a move.
"You're gonna scare her off if you keep looking at her so much"
Frypans voice had startled him out of his daze, his eyes moving from you to him in bewilderment.
"What are you on about"
Frypan shrugs at this "You keep staring at her, if you like her that much you should just talk to her"
Now he was bewildered for sure, like you?? How is that even possible. He debated in his mind, Frypans words leaving him in a confused state. He was sure he didn't like you, yet why is your smile so heart warming, your hair looks especially nice today too.
Crap, maybe he does like you after all.
Little did he know, you were having a similar conversation in one of the many tables.
"He totally makes eyes at you, I don't know what you're talking about!"
Minho exclaims, rather loudly at that, making you slap your hands over his mouth to shut him up.
"Shut it you slinthead, he's gonna hear if you talk so loud"
Minho simply rolls his eyes before saying "Good, maybe that'll have you make a move"
You scoff "He probably doesn't even like me, he barely talks to me!!
And just like that, you were both in a never ending spiral of confusion and overthinking thoughts. And obviously, everyone noticed, with how obvious you two were how could they not?
And obviously Minho decided the best thing to do was to set up a plan.....for everyones sake.
Your days had started off normal. You got to work, went out to the Maze, came back and jotted down what you had seen. Nothing out of the ordinary.
As you were finishing up in the Map Room, Minho had bursted in, making you jump and look at him in surprise.
"I need you to help me, come quick"
Without much of a question, you followed him until you reached the Homestead. As you walked up the stairs, you stopped in front of a small unfamiliar room. Minho pushed open the door, holding on to the door knob and waving his hand, motioning you to walk inside. Before you even realized what was going on, he had slammed the door shut, locking you inside the room.
You whirled around to face the door, a look of perplexion on your face. You heard Minhos loud voice boom from the other side
"I´m not letting you out until you talk to each other!!"
If possible, your confusion only grew as you mumbled "Each other?"
"He means us"
You heard a voice from behind, the British accent all too familiar. Turning around, you were met with the sight of Newt sitting on the floor with an unimpressed look on his face. You felt the all too familiar feeling of your heart hammering in your chest. Taking a deep breathe, you sigh shakily as you sit down beside him.
You rest your head on the wall behind you, your thoughts wandering and your brows furrowing more and more.
"What do you think he meant by talking to each other?"
Newt glanced at you for a second, then, unexpectedly, he leaned forward and placed his thumb between your brows, gently rubbing the area until your frown completely disappeared.
"I don´t know but what I do know is that you´re gonna get wrinkles if you frown so much"
In a dazed like motion, he traced his thumb over your brow and down your temple until his entire hand was cupping your cheek. Your cheeks flushed under his hand, wide eyes staring deep into his brown ones.
However, as soon as the moment was there it was gone just as quickly as Newt backed away, apologies flying his mouth.
Your hands moved before you could even process what you were doing. You cupped his face in your hands, forcing him to look at you.
"Stop apologizing you idiot! I don´t mind..."
You mumbled the last part in embarrasement, your eyes trained on the floor underneath you. The feeling of his rough calloused hands pulling yours away from his cheeks made your eyes shoot back up at him in surprise. You thought he would push you away, instead, he pulled you close until your head was resting on his shoulder, his long arms wrapping around your waist.
"Then...do you mind if I do this?"
When he felt you shake your head, he breathed out a sigh of relief, his tense muscles relaxing, letting you nuzzle your face deeper against the crook of his neck. You were in that position for what felt like ages when Newt called out your name. Moving your head so you could look at him better, he took this as a sign to continue.
"I- I don´t know how to say this without making it awkward, but...well I always get this feeling around you, like my hearts going to fly out of my chest...or how I get all jittery"
As he rambles, you push your head back to fully look at him, your cheeks flaring up at his words.
"What I´m trying to say is I really really like you"
In a flash, you had cupped his face with your hands and slammed your lips to his. Whatever words he had were gone once he felt your soft lips on his. When air called, you pulled away, breathing deeply.
"I like you too Newt"
You´ve never seen someone smile as much as he did in that moment, dazzling smile taking your breath away. This time it was him who leaned in for a kiss, deeper this time and full of passion.
If you had known it would be like this you would have kissed him long long ago. Guess you have Minho to thank now.
-------------------------------
BONUS!!
"You think he asked her out already?" Asked Minho.
"They´ve been in there for a while that´s for sure" Was Albys reply.
"Do you think they´re-"
"DON´T finish that sentence Minho"
"I don´t think I would´ve wanted to know anyway" He says with a grimace.

Heyyyyy i think your writing has become my drĎ
g so here I'm again with another request. So Minho comes back from the maze really stressed so female reader offers to give him a massage and it ends up spicy obviously. TYSMMM! :)
The Minho brain-rot continues. Let's goooooo.
LET ME MAKE YOU FEEL BETTER PT. 1
MASTERLIST | MINHO MASTERLIST
SUMMARY: See above. Takes place before the arrival of Thomas.
WARNINGS: Spicey content, inappropriate language, scenes straight out of the start of a porno ngl, but no explicit smut.
You wait in front of the Doors, eagerly awaiting your best friend's return to the Glade.
This was your routine. Wake up, say bye to Minho, do your job, lunch, do your job, greet Minho, chill. Of course, Minho had to go to the Map room, but at this point, the Runners weren't fazed to find you in there with him.
From the outside, it probably seems strange to onlookers, but it's a perfectly normal relationship for the two of you.
When you first arrived, you were treated like a sideshow freak, and your forward and aggressive nature led to even more interest. It wasn't until Minho returned and acted like it was no big deal that you started to relax. He told everyone to get a grip and quit staring and it finally provided you with a much needed moment of peace.
You thanked him, and the pair of you started talking.
And you've been close ever since.
Though, you were starting to grow anxious. Where is he? He's already five minutes late and the other Runners have already returned.
This is weird.
Your excitement dwindles into anxiety as another few minutes pass, only for Minho to finally emerge from the last corner. He slows to a jog as he approaches, sweaty and tired, it's unusual for him to be this dishevelled upon his return.
What's even more unusual is that he completely blanks you, walking past without so much of a glance.
"Minho?" You jog slightly to catch up to his power walk.
"What?" He snaps, almost biting your head off with a single word.
"Shuckin' hell, what's up your ass today?" Minho freezes to snap his head towards you, but his expression melts when he sees that you're clearly upset just from the brief interaction alone.
Minho would be lying if he said he didn't have a soft spot for you. How could he not? You're the only girl in the Glade and maybe it would've been easier if they sent someone that, well, wasn't you. You're exactly Minho's type, easily matching his sarcasm and not taking his bullshit mood swings - not to mention you're gorgeous in his eyes.
"Sorry," he sighs, rubbing the back of his neck with his hand, completely unfazed by the rumbling of the Doors shutting. "Just... had a klunky day, dude."
"Yeah, well that's not my fault, is it?" You cross your arms, tilting your head at an angle. You'd been waiting for him to return and this is how he treats you? Typical.
"Yeah, I know."
"Did something happen?" Your bitterness quickly turns into concern. It's rare for Minho to take his anger out on you, so you can tell something has seriously got under his skin today.
"Just... a lot of little things, and-" he sucks in a deep breath "-we've nearly fully explored the outer sections, and we still haven't found shit. It's just... yanno." You give Minho a sympathetic smile which he doesn't bother returning.
"You gotta learn to relax, man," he scoffs at this.
"That's easier said than done."
"Well..." you think for a second, trying to come up with a way to help, "I'm always here to talk to - and we could always go for a swim in the pond or just have a walk," you pause, trying to conjure up another option, "or I could give you a massage?"
Minho seems to spark up at this, though he just shakes his head, your attempts to lighten the mood already working.
"A massage?" Sarcasm drips from his voice as he raises his eyebrow, "Seriously?"
"Sure," you shrug, "why not? If it helps you to slim down for a little bit, then sure."
"Alright, then." He almost laughs at the absurdity, expecting you to tell him you're joking any second now.
"Okay, I'll meet you in your hut once you get back from the Map room," you flash him a smile before walking away.
"I'm gonna hit the showers, too, first," he shouts over to you, playfullness evident in his voice as he predicts you to turn around and tell him you're messing with him. But you give him a thumbs up, not even bothering to turn around.
You both seem to come to a realisation as the distance between you increases.
What the actual fuck just happened?
You were just spit-balling; throwing out ideas that could make Minho feel better. And now you've arranged to meet so you can rub your hands all over his body?
Fuck.
Despite your closeness, you've somehow managed to unintentionally take a step in a more... intimate direction.
Minho actually hasn't moved from where you left him as the cogs slowly start to turn in his head.
He thought you were joking. He agreed as a joke in response to your joke. And now it was actually happening. Or maybe this was still a joke? Maybe you're one-upping his joke?
His brain is fried.
You let yourself into his hut. How do you even do a massage? It's not like you've done this before, and if you have, you don't remember it.
Where do you put your hands? Do you make him lie down? Sit up? Should you ask him to take his shirt off?
Oh, Jesus.
You feel heated at the thought. Minho is attractive and well-built; easily the only guy you find yourself daydreaming about or staring at for a bit too long. And you actually enjoy being around him. You'd be lying to yourself if you said that you hadn't developed a crush on the boy. Which was something you forced yourself to ignore and push down.
Especially with Alby putting in a pretty strong "no touching" rule in place when it came to you. You didn't want to make things awkward or cause any potential problems for Minho.
This is a terrible example of your precautions.
Somehow, you both reach the same conclusion.
Let's just go with it. Let's see what happens.
Trust sexually frustrated teenagers to make bad choices- not one person is shocked.
Minho found himself eager, quickly getting through his work and attempting to use the cold shower to keep himself under control before making his way over to his hut. Curiosity driving him more than anything. What exactly were you planning to do?
You, however, have taken to pacing the room like a mad woman.
You're quick to compose yourself as the door opens, and Minho smirks at you, slipping into his own space. You are very visibly awkward and shuffling on your feet. Something Minho thinks is cute.
"Hi." You squeak out, your voice sounding like anything but your own.
"Hey," his hair is still slightly damp, making his normally spiked up quiff lie flatter. He quietly closes the door behind him. "So, how, uh, how we doin' this then?"
Minho's plan is to push you far enough that you crack and the joke ends. The problem with that plan is that this isn't a joke.
Sure, you might've said it with some underlying comedic tones, but the second Minho agreed, it kind of stopped being a joke to you. After all, you have this deep need to please Minho - something else you're never going to confess.
"Oh, well, I- I was thinking that, um- maybe-" you make eye contact with him, amusement swimming in his dark eyes, and you give up, letting out a sigh of defeat, "I don't know."
He laughs, dropping his head for a second before looking back up, "Look, you don't have to give me a massage. We can just chill and talk like we always do. It was a nice gesture and all, but I don't wanna make you uncomfortable-"
Yeah, okay, cool- it was a joke, right? You definitely don't seem to want to take this any further, which is proof enough to Minho.
"No," you say, a little too quickly, "I mean, I already said I would - you've had a shit day, and as your friend, it's my job to change that."
"Yeah, but it's really not your job to make me feel better - I kinda thought you were j-" it had actually started to sink in now. The thought of you caressing him and trying to ease him with your hands suddenly felt very real.
"I want to make you feel good, Minho." That was the final straw. The words made his expression fall, and his heart rate pick up. The change of the word 'better' to 'good' catches him completely off-guard.
Good, huh? You want to make him feel good? How good, exactly? How would you-?
Shuck, Minho- stop.
His head flies through about a hundred different scenarios, none of which he'd ever say out loud. He clears his throat in a poor attempt to hide the room feeling very hot all of a sudden.
"Alright," watching him suddenly become tense gives you a weird confidence boost and a strange feeling of dominance takes the place of your awkward anxiety. Minho is just as, if not more, flustered than you. "Take your shirt off and have a seat."
You sit down on the edge of the bed with your legs open, leaning forward and patting the ground in front of you, sending a friendly smile his way. He looks at you, then at the bed, then back at you.
"Yeah, alright." He murmurs, deciding to just accept his fate. He's in too deep now. All he has to do is keep himself under control and let you be a good friend. That's not so hard, is it?
Wrong.
He turns around, facing away from you as he takes off his weird harness/backpack thing that he religiously wears. He fiddles with the buttons on his blue shirt, the fabric is faded and sun-kissed from being Minho's favourite item of clothing. It's also your favourite item of clothing on him.
You can't help but stare at him as he lets the un-buttoned shirt fall to the floor. His back is toned with prominent shoulder blades. He stretches, and you watch in awe as the muscles tense before he turns around.
You have to force yourself to not have any kind of physical reaction as you look at him. He looks like he's been carved out of stone. There's the odd scar littering his tanned skin - something you're actually shocked there's not more of. A few dark hairs dust across his lower stomach, and his V line is sharp and dangerously on display as he makes no effort to readjust his low-hanging pants. You're assuming that the shirt added some extra padding for his belt to hold onto.
Shit - it's making your mouth water.
Though you maintain composure and Minho clears his throat, "You want me to sit on the floor?"
"Mhm," you hum, taking another second to make sure your words don't fail you, "back towards me."
Minho scoffs. Some part of him is still trying to understand what's going on, and the other has completely given up. He wordlessly does as he's told, and you're baffled that he's being so obedient.
He grunts softly as he lowers himself, clearly still aching from the rough day he's had. He sits between your legs, his back pressed to the bed frame. It wasn't exactly an uncommon position for you both to take, especially when you're spending time in his hut and you decide to play with his hair.
Honestly, you still don't really know what you're doing, but when you put your hands around his tight shoulders, just at the base of his neck, and start kneading the muscles loose - you seem to be doing a good job.
Minho wasn't expecting much, but the second your hands touched his skin, he knew he was a goner. You seem to effortlessly find the tension in his back and shoulders, relieving him of the days events.
He doesn't know how, but everything you're doing is lowering his stress and causing adrenaline to course through him at the same time.
You take to working in methodical circles, occasionally changing your approach. When your thumbs gaze the back of Minho's neck, softer than before, barely ghosting over his skin, a soft smirk appears across your face. Goosebumps creep across his skin, his breathing hitches slightly, and he leans back, further into your touch.
His eyes are shut and despite this being to relax him, his fists are balled as he attempts to will his sexual frustrated body to calm down. You guys are friends - you're doing this to be nice because you care about him.
"Did you like that?" It comes out as barely audible, something that you mainly said to yourself. Your own mind is starting to become foggy with desire.
He hums in response.
"Yeah?" You push, now knowing he heard you.
He hums again, but with an added nod this time.
He's turning into putty in your hands. You repeat the simple gesture. This time, Minho releases a noise. It's more of a hum than a moan, but it's deeper than the noises he made in agreement.
"You sound really pretty," you coo. It's almost like you're not meaning to even say these things but it keeps coming out. It's almost second nature to praise him and push him to answer you. You didn't even really know there was this side to you.
Neither did Minho. Minho was also blissfully unaware that he was into praise, but now he has to shift slightly at your words as a tightness fills his pants.
Not ideal.
"Don't say that," he mumbles, sounding a lot less assured than he intended. His brain feels fuzzy, and his body is a lot warmer than before.
"Why not?" The coyness fades from your voice for a second, your question becoming more genuine. You don't want to make him uncomfortable, but you're getting some mixed signals here.
Minho doesn't respond. He's too drunk on the skin-to-skin contact. So, you push him further, "Minho? Why shouldn't I say that?"
"Because I want you bad enough, and this is just driving me mad." Your movements slow, Minho's barely coherent grumbling takes a second to sink in.
He's also too high on lust to process it straight away.
"What?" You can hear your pulse in your ears as Minho's eyes flicker open, his head is resting back - pretty much in front of your crotch. Your face quickly grows red and it clicks what just happened.
"Shit- sorry, I didn't-" his head shoots up, but he doesn't get up, just rubbing his face with his hands. "I knew this was a bad shucking idea. Listen, alright, I didn't mean it- well, I did mean it, but I wouldn't have ever said it. You were just- you're just so-"
Minho's stunned into silence as you lean forward, your lips connecting to his nape. Electricity jolts through him, and he physically flinches. A shakey breath escapes him.
He wants you?
He wants you.
He's just said it. Maybe it's the sexual tension in the air or the fact you've been crushing on him for so damn long - but you don't care anymore. So, you press another kiss to his neck.
He accepts the gesture, moving slightly to face more to you, giving you easy access to his jaw. You kiss up his neck, lightly nibbling his jaw, and he purrs against your touch when you take his ear lobe between your teeth.
"I want you, too," you whisper into his ear.
Minho struggles to believe the words he's hearing, so he turns to face you fully, moving his body to the side with his legs crossed still.
He looks up at you. Your bottom lip is caught between your teeth, the sudden eye contact making your confidence dwindle. Your pupils are blown wide, and you desperately want to squeeze your legs together, but Minho is, quite literally, in the way.
A few seconds pass whilst he just looks at you, seemingly weighing his options out.
"Shuck it," you barely have time to react once the words leave his mouth. He raises suddenly, turning his body fully towards you. He catches your face in his hand as his pushes forward, leaving you resting on your elbows as he hovers over you on the bed - taking the power from you in one swift motion.
Your noses brush against each other, and you jolt forward. The desperation and heat is starting to drive you insane and he's too close to not be doing anything.
But he pulls away.
Shit.
Does he not want this after all? Have you almost ruined your friendship for nothing?
"I really like you, (Y/N), okay?" Minho's breathing is heavy. "But I don't wanna ruin our friendship- so if this is just dumb, teenage hormones to you... please just tell me, and we can stop this before we destroy everything."
His words are sincere, a tinge of pain creeping into his voice. Minho is used to taking risks, but this feels so current and scary. He's never put his heart on the line before, and it's a different kind of stress.
You take a second to think of the right words. There's so much you want to say, but there's also so much you want to do.
"It means everything to me," you lean further forward, "You mean everything to me."
Your foreheads bump and his lips ghost yours, making you whimper before he finally caves. Pushing his lips to yours, it's feverish and hot.
You follow his lead, feeling all the built-up tension and wants as he puts it into the kiss. Minho is basically on Cloud 9 - he's been dreaming of this for what feels like forever.
You flop backwards, letting Minho put more of his weight on you, resting himself between your legs. He basically growls into your mouth when you grind your hips against his, trying to get some kind of friction. You'd take anything to soothe the throbbing sensation pooling between your thighs.
His mouth dips down, kissing along your jawline, then down to your neck. His teeth graze the sensitive flesh, and he sucks down, causing you to claw at his back and let out a gasp.
He travels lower, hands under your shirt, and working their way up, brushing against your bra.
It's all moving very fast, and Minho is quickly becoming more needy, almost animalistic as he digs into your skin.
That's when the thought hits you.
"Minho, wait." He stops immediately, pulling away. Panic flashes across his face and concern washes through his body.
Shit, he hasn't done something wrong, has he?
"You okay?" He pushes off of you, standing up straight, making sure to give you any space you might need. "You want me to stop?"
"No," you confess, scooting back over to the edge of the bed and standing up yourself. Minho furrows his brows as you stand in front of him.
You stand on your tiptoes, pressing against his lips once more. He immediately melts, his hands going to slip to your waist but you grab him, taking him by surprise and spinning him around. You push him backwards, making him hit the mattress with a heavy thud.
"(Y/N)? What are you-?" You silence him with a kiss, using one arm to stabilise yourself as you hover over him, your free hand fiddling with his belt.
You pull on Minho's bottom lip with your teeth, watching his eyes roll back into his head as you palm at him through his underwear.
"I'm meant to be making you feel better," you talk into his skin as you start to kiss down his chest, "remember?"
This ended up being slightly more steamy than intentioned, but tension is what I'm good at writing so tension you shall get.
Love y'all, hope you enjoy :))

Hiii, I love your firsts series with Adam warlock and wanted to ask if you could do something like that with Minho? Because I saw you write for him too so I wabre to ask but if not thatâs totally okey too! I donât want to pressure you! Have a nice day!
Tease
Minho x Reader
Summary: the first time Minho admits heâs attracted to y/n
Warnings: nothing! You do get sassy asshole Minho & protective Minho (and a hint of soft Minho, if you squint) in one fic tho hehe.
A/N: A little break from the Adam fics with some Minho content! Shoutout to @theblaxkbird for requesting :) wasnât sure if you wanted it sweet or a little spicier, so I kept it light! It is kind of long [& by kind of I mean very] tho oops sorry. If anyone wants more Minho content feel free to send in requests! Enjoy :)
[not my gif]
The first time y/n met Minho he was⌠well, insufferable. She arrived in the glade a month after he and the first group of gladers did, & was the first and only woman there. The other boys were either kind to her or afraid of herâ either way, they looked out for her and catered to her needs. But Minho? Was an ass.
While the other boys helped pull her out of the box & introduced themselves with a smile, clearly excited to see a girl join the group, Minho led with his famous eye roll & a turn of his heel, walking away in a huff.
Newt apologized on behalf of his friend, explaining to y/n that he wasnât normally like that, although they had been through a lot in the last month.
As the weeks went by, Minho made it a point to pick on her & tease her, every chance he got, and when he wasnât doing that, he was simply pretending she didnât exist.
âOw! Um, excuse you,â y/n called after Minho when he aggressively bumped her shoulder, cutting her in line. Minho picked up a plate silently, unphased by the irritated girl standing behind him.
Newt rolled his eyes from a few places back. âCâmon Minho, youâre gonna cut in front of the lady?â
âUh, no, Iâm not gonna, âcause I already did,â Minho said, looking at his friend from over his shoulder.
Y/n rolled her eyes & swatted the air in dismissal. âItâs fine, Newt.â
After getting her food, y/n plopped down on the soft field a few metres from the Homestead, taking in the warmth of the high noon sun. She ate in comfortable silence, grateful to have a moment to herself in her day surrounded by rowdy boys.
Her comfortable silence was quickly broken by an uproar from the homestead. A chorus of voices erupted, indecipherable. She squinted through the sun, trying to see if she could spot the reason for the ruckus. It died down momentarily, and y/n got up to begin making her way over.
As she approached, Alby stomped out the door with incoherent shouts spilling from his lips, dragging Minho by the arm. Gally followed closely behind, Newt holding him back. It looked like there was a gash across his cheek.
Y/n rolled her eyes.
Why am I not surprised?
She turned around & returned to her spot, watching Alby scold Minho from a distance before leaving him sitting on the grass, ripping it from its roots like a child on time-out. She chuckled to herself, thinking how he was finally getting what he deserved. Then, from her peripherals, y/n saw Minho stand up & make his way over.
Crap.
âWhatcha doing out here?â he asked, hands in his pockets, a large bruise visible on his cheek now that he was closer. His tone didnât seem hostile for once, but y/n wasnât going to give him the opportunity to get there.
âWhat are you doing out here? Tired of getting your ass kicked in there?â
Minho rolled his eyes & plopped down beside her. âYou still mad I cut you in line?â He rested his forearms on his knees, his toned muscles peeking out from under his rolled up sleeves.
Oh, god, there is no way this shuckface is gonna disrespect me, act like all heâs done is cut me in line, & then come flaunting his stupid muscles under his tight shirt.
Y/n stood up with a scoff, walking back to the Homestead. The last thing she had was energy to deal with Minho today.
ââââ
âWhatâs wrong, luv?â Newt said as he approached y/n. âWhatâs gotcha sittinâ in a bloody corner all by yourself?â
Y/n crossed her arms. âTake a bloody guess.â
The Brit sat down across her. âYâknow, heâs not so bad.â
âAll heâs done since I got here is bug me!â
Newt shrugged. âSo he likes to tease. He also just took a punch for you.â
Y/n sat up. âHe what?â
Newt raised an eyebrow. âHe didnât tell you? I saw him walk over to you outside to I assumed he came over to brag about it. The bugger almost got thrown in the slammer for yaâ
âNewt, tell me what happened.â
Newt explained how as she walked outside, Gally made an inappropriate comment about her ass. To everyoneâs surprise, Minho warned Gally not to talk about y/n like that again, but instead of apologizing, Gally commented something even more crude (something along the lines of âIâd like to stick it up thereâ, complete with gestures according to Newt). Thatâs when Minho really surprised them, lunging at Gally & tackling him to the ground. Gally got in one good punch before Alby finally lifted Minho off of him.
âDonât worry, Minho definitely got more hits in than Gally did,â Newt informed. âBut he was bloody riled up. Ya might wanna talk to him.â
ââââ
When y/n found Minho he was laying in his hammock facing away from her, tossing a rock up & down. He paused for a moment, holding the rock still between his index finger and his thumb, as if sensing her presence, & then resumed just as quickly, as if dismissing it.
âMinho?â
âWhaddaya want, shuckface?â
Y/n rolled her eyes at the nickname & trudged over to stand in front of him.
âI brought you an ice pack,â she said, holding it out for him to take. Minho eyed the ice pack, then her, then the ice pack again, before returning his attention to the rock in his hand.
Y/n rolled her eyes for the second time in 2 minutes. When he didnât take the ice pack, she walked over to the other side of the hammock & placed it on his cheek herself.
As soon as the cold touched his skin, Minho glanced at her without turning his head, an eyebrow raised in question.
âY/n, what the hell are you doing?â
âOh, so you do know my name. I was beginning to think you actually thought my name was shuckface.â
âDamn, shuckface,â Minho emphasized the word & smirked at the eye roll it triggered. âWhy you so sensitive today?â
Y/n laughed. âMe? Slim it Minho, Iâm not the one who got into a fight over a comment. Hell, if I was as sensitive as your shuck ass weâd be in a fist fight every day.â
Minho groaned in frustration and mumbled to himself. âOf course Newt had to tell youâŚâ Sitting up, he snatched the ice pack from her and began to play with it in place of his rock. âWell, I wasnât gonna let him talk about you like that.â
âWhy not? You talk about me like that all the time.â
Minho wrinkled his nose in distaste for her words. âYou think I talk about you like that? I like to tease you, shuckface, not talk about you like some easy skank.â He tilted his head to look at her & shrugged. âAnd you know I donât actually mean the klunk I say. I just like when you react, ya shank.â
When her brows furrowed with confusion, he realized she did not, in fact, know that.
âWait, did you think I was serious? When Iâd tease you?â
Y/n threw her hands up in exasperation. âWell, I donât know, Minho! How was I supposed to know you didnât actually hate me when the second I stepped foot in the Glade you just rolled your eyes & turned around? You didnât even bother introducing yourself! I had to get your name from Newt as he apologized for you!â
Minho smirked playfully. âAw, was the little greenie upset I didnât give her attention?â
âSlim it, Minho.â Y/n began to walk away. âI dunno why I wasted my time coming here.â
Minho grabbed her wrist. His hand was cold from the ice pack heâd been holding. âY/n, wait.â
The boy sighed as he pulled her forward to face him again. His head was tilted down but his eyes looked up at her, as if he was embarrassed.
âLook, Iâm sorry for ignoring you when you first arrived.â Y/nâs eyebrows shot up in disbelief.
Did he just apologize?
Minho continued. âYouâre the only girl in a field of dudes. And letâs be real, youâre attractive. Clearly whoever sent us here knows my type. And when you arrived, ya know, weâd only been here a month, we were just getting things into routine, getting a structure kicked inâ things were just starting to get⌠normal.â
He laid back down in his hammock again, hands behind his head as he regained his confident composure, attempting to mask the substance of his words with nonchalance.
âNot to brag, but Iâd already started to build a reputation as a strong leader, & I knew a lotta those shanks out there looked up to me. So when you showed up, I just didnât wanna get⌠distracted. But I shouldâve been more welcoming. Iâm sorry. And if you were actually upset about me teasing you this whole time you shoulda said somethinâ, shuckface, âcause I just didnât know.â
âNow wait just a damn second,â y/n said, putting her hands on her hips. âAre you telling me the whole reason youâve been acting like an ass is because youâre attracted to me?â
âNo, Iâm telling you I didnât want to be distracted by you.â He began tossing the rock again.
âBecause youâre attracted me.â
âAm not.â
âYou literally just said Iâm your type.â
âMm, is that what I said, though?â
âMinho!â Y/n punched him playfully and he reacted in mock hurt.
âOuch! A girl who packs a punch? Maybe you are my type after all,â he teased.
Y/n looked him up & down, as if measuring what she was working with, then replied with a smirk. âGood.â
With that, she walked away, Minhoâs eyes trailing behind her. Before she was out of sight he called after her.
âThanks for the ice pack!â
Without looking back she shouted her reply, amusement playing on her lips.
âYouâre welcome, shuckface.â
