You keep calling his name for the past 10 minutes but he doesn't respond, well not so long ago he protested against you being away from home for a week for your vacation but you denied, so he announced that he shall be "ignoring you like you ignore me" from then.

"babe look at this" you call for him to show him a tiktok but there's no response whatsoever, you turn to him and his back is facing you. You sigh and swing your arm around his stomach. "Hey?"

"....." Still no response. "Are we seriously doing this?" To which he simply responded with a "hmph"

You sighed once again and got up to sit on top of his legs "look at me" and this time he finally spoke "your charms won't work on me" you leaned forward your head resting on his chest "won't theeeeeey?"

To others it would be just your normal smiling face but to him he saw two sparkly eyes the sweetest smile on the face of the sweetest person he's known making him feel all giddy like a schoolgirl in love again.

Unable to control his expression he puts a hand over his face trying to cover his mouth but you pull it back revealing his smile.

"And I thought you were mad at me?" you stroked his hair he then sighed and put his arms around your waist "You make it too hard, god should nerf that face of yours it could kill me someday"

Hi, I was wondering if you could write a bit about Oboro having an S/O but it's kinda hard to deal with him because of his behaviour and how he's afraid of showing his feelings and needs because of what happened in the past 😭

A/N: Hi! I finally progressed enough in Gintama to do this request woo! I'll sort of do it in a headcanon-y way, since I've never written anything about Oboro before :p Hope I don't mischaracterize him!

Oboro Headcanons

Being in a relationship with a wretched man as Oboro certainly doesn't come easily. To others, he might look as someone completely ruthless and unemotional, but in reality, he is just someone who was once overtaken by emotion and now has to live with the consequences of his actions.

Most likely he wouldn't get involved with anyone in the post war era. He'd think of feelings as distraction from his goals, a reminder of his own weakness. But if you were someone who showed him kindness both before and after he turned into the man he is? That would certainly make him waver.

Of course, he wouldn't want to open up about it. Of course, he'd try to hide his feelings from you, the world, and even his own self. If he lingers around you, it simply means you are of use. If he offers you help and protects you, there's gotta be a reason behind his actions. He'd do anything to rationalize something that simply can't be rationalized.

I wouldn't put it past him to straight up threaten or fight you in an attempt to make you hate him. It's easier if people resent him, for he can never erase his past sins.

However, if his actions aren't enough to dishearten you, then he'll avoid you as best as he can. Oboro doesn't show his love with gestures, words or acts of kindness. He shows it in his distance. Because he knows that each step bringing you closer to him, brings you closer to your own demise, and he can absolutely not stand to watch that.

A chance for him to show his true colors would be in the face of danger. For example, if you are in danger then he wouldn't mind sacrificing himself for you. It's a stupid habit he can't shake off, yet he'd always choose to save the one he loves over his own self.

In that moment, those hazy eyes of his wouldn't be so empty anymore, the love he kept hidden spilling at the sight of you being alive and well. It doesn't matter if he dies once more, as long as the blood that stains your hands is his and not yours.

And when he reopens his eyes and finds you still cradling his face? When you hold him close and smother him in kisses? When the tears dropping to his face are meant for him and him only? Then maybe, just maybe, he has a moment of weakness and lets himself rest in your arms.

He never thought anyone could ever shed tears for him. That someone could genuinely spare him something other than hatred, which is exactly what he feels he deserves. And then he realizes, he was never meant to wallow in abnegation and regret. That, the love you offer him, is something he selfishly wants to grab for himself.

He thought he'd changed. That after what happened with Shouyou, he knew better than to let himself be consumed by such emotions. But people don't change and he is the very same boy he once were. That very same selfish and jealous boy who ruined everything; that very same selfish and jealous boy who will ruin you. And knowing that, he caves in.

A/N: Honestly, I always struggled to like Oboro because I feel like he did something veeeeery uncalled of and was the catalyst for everything that went down during and after the Joui wars. I don't applaud his actions, but at the same time I find him interesting as a character and can't say I dislike him. I just wish he got a better chance at life and he could also be one of Joui 4 ;-;

Besides, writing this made me realize, he'd probably resemble Takasugi when it comes to dating :p But, getting him to actually open up would be even harder ;-; His opening up would mostly be to see him more often and feel him watching over you even when he doesn't show himself. Pretty fitting for a crow. The things he did are unforgivable and he wouldn't ask for forgiveness, but you know he likes you because of how selfishly he acts.

Oh and, I mentioned how he'd truly show his emotions at the face of danger, BUT that could also be when seeing you with someone else. If his jealousy won him over, then who knows what happens...👀

Some warm up drawings!

Of course, as soon as I'm allowed the time to draw - I instantly revoked Kamui's leg privileges.

I really don't know what compelled me to come up with this spontaneous headcanon, but I really like it and wanna keep it. Paired with his personality, story, and potential interactions with others, I thought it'd add an interesting dynamic with a character like him, dealing with a loss such as this. I haven't quite decided when he potentially lost his right leg- thinking due to the fact there'd probably be a moment where he got overly confident or a bit cocky, perhaps it was a loss during the time he was still being mentored by Housen. Or possibly some point after the final.

In the normal Gintama universe, he'd probably be using the same technology other Yato use for their prosthetics - such as Abuto and Umibozu, resembling and being able to function as a regular limb.

Though in the Ginpachi sensei universe, I figured he'd have a much more modern or realistic prosthetic. Along with a blade prosthetic (which I haven't drawn) for times when he's going to be more physically active.

But hey, I think it'd also give me a chance to draw some other scenarios. Though we shall see, as this was also just a warm-up drawing.

( I do like thinking about the possible dynamic Kamui has with his men, i believe they only showed like a slight glimpse that confirms Kamui is reaaaaaaaally tough with them. Sick Reader/Takasugi Headcanons

A/N: I'm a bit sick and as always, I connect my life to writing so there you have it. What would it be like if Shinsuke was sick, and what it'd be like if reader was sick?

Warning: No proofread, busy practicing sneezing as if it were an Olympic sport.

Takasugi being sick

He probably won't even tell you that he is sick.

Most likely confined himself in his room and doesn't let anyone take care of him.

If you find out through Bansai or something, then don't expect him to just let you see him like that. He doesn't like showing his weak side, even to you.

Insists he is fine despite constantly coughing/sneezing/having high fever, until it gets too much and he indirectly admits defeat.

No, he won't ask anything of you, but if you offer to forcefully take his temperature and feed him his medicine, he won't shoo you away.

If you bring him some homemade soup and sit by his side, he'll appreciate it even more. It's during such moments that he realizes how lucky he is to have you, despite not uttering a single 'thank you'.

Overall huge grump!

Don't make the mistake of asking him whether his pillow needs fixing. He'll have you rearrange it about ten million times until he feels comfortable enough.

Just because he doesn't ask for help, it doesn't mean he won't require you to do things his way.

But you know, you can't help but find sick Shinsuke a bit cute.

With red cheeks and sweat drenching his unkempt hair, he looks just like a child. An insufferable, bossy and constantly nagging one, be it adorable at that.

And if you ask to spend the night by his side, lest he worsens or needs help? Then maybe fever won't be the only reason behind his redness.

He feels like letting you in when he's in such weakened state is a big deal (think of cats letting humans pet their bellies), and so him doing that indicates how much he values and trusts you.

Before you know it, his arms are looped around you in the clingiest way possible, while his breath feels heavier than usual upon your ear.

You won't be able to tell, though maybe somewhere along the delirious rumblings of his lies a small 'I love you' and 'thank you being here'.

So much for not wanting to say it to your face.

Reader being sick

Now, when you think of the word 'caregiver', Takasugi is not the first person that comes to mind.

Unless is something very serious, he probably won't care enough to pay you a visit, but supposing there's something in it for him, then he just might show up to gloat.

'Serves you right for refusing an umbrella' or 'So much for knowing how to take care of yourself'

He might come off as a bit of a jerk with his backhanded comments and snide grins.

But if you exaggerate your little cold and make it seem as if you're about to meet with the Grim Reaper? Then expect to see a kinder side of him.

No, he won't cook you the 5 star hospital meal you were dreaming of. Hell, he might not even now what the right medicine for your condition is.

Still, if there's anything that you need, you'll have it. Be it him sending a member of his faction to get you a warm bowl of soup across the galaxy, or him offering to massage your weak points, he'll be extra attentive.

That's not to say he won't be very stiff and awkward about it. Even while taking your temperature, he'll have this very serious and grim expression on his face. It's just how he translates worry.

You won't have to ask for him to spend the night. He'll be out the door before you get the chance to, all under the pretense of not wanting to catch your sickness.

However, if you wake up in the middle of the night, there is a high chance you'll find him sitting on a chair by your side, half asleep.

There's no one he'd entrust the most precious thing in his life to.

In a way, a flu can be seen as harm, and he doesn't want you to get more harmed. He wants to be the one to oversee your condition personally, supposing there's no dire terrorist drama for him to get involved with. (but even then, he'd probably send bansai to deal with it, cba smh)

Finally, if he finds out about your little ruse, then he'll most definitely be pissed. Relieved it's nothing serious for sure, but very very veeeeery frustrated.

Not so much about your lie, as he is about a sneeze interrupting his lecturing.

-Gintoki looked embarrassed? What was happening? Let's go for a softer approach.

-"Hey, is everything okay?"

"Well, I organised all of this to thank you, but it seems it isn't appreciated!"

"Thank me? For what?"

"I know it's not easy to be my partner and with this dinner I wanted to thank you for loving me after all we went throught..."

-Ouch, you weren't so nice before.

-"T-This is so sweet! Sorry if I was so harsh before, it is that I'm not used to-"

"Then I'll have to act better, if you are not used to being treated nicely then it's my fault"

"Umh??"

-Definitely not used to such a soft Gintoki, it makes you want to smooch him so hard...and that's exactly what you do.

-Thank God the cold atmosphere disappears and you can now enjoy your dinner in a much warmer atmosphere.
