hi as a jjk fan, do you have any issues with the writing from gege? if so, what do you think are wasted potential in terms of characters, bonds. i think that there is lack of emotional impact or expansion fo characters sometimes. for instance animes like mha have alot of meaningful character arcs and backstories. It's a bit hard to express how I feel becuase jjk is an amazing story but i am just a bit disappointed of the wasted potential with female characters and like shoko and utahime. and the world building. yes i am fellow gojohime shipper ;).
(Oncoming long RANT 😅)
If you ride on Gege's coattails, this may not be for you.
I actually do have issues with Gege's writing, so I agree with you. JJK has an interesting premise with hidden lore & I would recommend it to anyone wanting to get into, or already into, anime/manga, but it could be so much better if Gege just cared enough (which I sometimes feel like he doesn't? It just feels like he wants to hurry up & finish it so he can start on his idol manga... 💀). He skips so much, it honestly feels like he's going off a checklist, especially in the latest arc.
Compared to other battle shounens, namely Naruto, Fairy Tail, MHA, & even Gintama, JJK is severely lacking in several areas. It's unfortunate because the premise & characters are full of potential.
I will go over some of the issues. A lot of these were obvious from the start but they've only gotten worse over time.
• The fast pacing (speed running at this point). It's battle after battle, no downtime, big arc right after big arc, etc. Us readers & the characters themselves barely have time to process things before he moves on to the next thing. He skips so many things, so much happens off-screen/off-panel (can't forget how he skipped Yaga's fight with Gakuganji that lead to his death, skipped Gojo's entire month after his unsealing then "kills" him off-panel a few chapters later, I could go on...)
• The lack of character emotions, development, backstories, etc. We barely know anything about the characters, like their hobbies & interests? (This is why I have a hard time making up headcanons & potentially writing a fic for our ship... How can I keep them in character when I barely know stuff about them? 😮‍💨). We barely see any of them training (training arcs/chapters are typical for battle shounens); the Tokyo students preparing for the Goodwill Event would have been a fitting time to showcase this, for example. There's little to no mourning shown for character deaths (like Yaga? Nanami? Mai? Mechamaru?).
Yuta has such a cool CT & we didn't get to see how he discovered it & all. Like, come on 😔. Also, it would've been nice to see the Goodwill Event from his first year when he beat the Kyoto students, especially Todo... (Gege simply tells us about it. Like he tends to do for a lot of things 🙄).
Gege could've done more build-up to Gojo's sealing in Shibuya by showing his upbringing & development from his arrogant teen self (tho already having shown hints of caring for others & not liking the higher-ups) to the sensei who loves his students & strives for a better Jujutsu society. His past arc should've been longer imo. Needed more slice of life & character interactions, bonding. Heck, Toji should've gotten his whole backstory there too before he died. More build-up to Gojo's "death" too, as Gege skipped that whole month after his unsealing 😒...
• While on the subject, the lack of character interactions, bonding. We haven't seen most characters interact with each other despite being in the same circles, vicinity. Tokyo & Kyoto students, GjHm with them, Gojo & his colleagues (esp more Uta), the Zenin clan (like, wish we could've seen how GjHm interacted with Naoya. Imagine the drama 😫), Gojo & his elusive clan, I could go on... Would've loved to see Gojo interact with Kashimo, Higuruma, Choso... 😮‍💨
As such, several have died & we never saw them interact with certain others nor even know much about them 😑... The emotional impact of character deaths & bonding would be higher if only Gege cared enough to flesh out his characters more... (At least the Phantom Parade mobile game is giving us some much-needed slice of life content. Wish Mappa would give us some OVA's like that too...)
• Lack of world building. Once again, so much we don't know, such as the clans, especially Gojo's. Apparently, they're still alive, yet we haven't seen them?
Tumblr media
Are they not fighters, then? Nothing from them on their clan head's sealing/unsealing/"death". The Zenin Clan debuted & got killed off soon after. Other clans irrelevant. Jujutsu sorcery primarily exists in Japan so other than Miguel, goodbye to the potential of any foreign sorcerers making their appearance...
• Female cast. It's crazy how they were once praised for their potential but now... Now, all they've got is just your typical battle shounen treatment 😒. While Gege has shown he cares little for all his characters (lol), it does seem like the female characters have suffered a bit more from his writing. They've either died (like Mai off-screen? Yuki, the only female Special Grade, had one fight & died?), become powerless (Miwa, thru an off-screen Binding Vow revealed many chapters later? Seriously?), lack screentime (the Kyoto girls? Shoko, the only one who can use RCT on others & closest friend to Gojo?!), or simply haven't done a whole lot, especially compared to the male characters. For some or most, it's a mixture of all these 💀 (like Tsumiki).
Nobara is the main girl & yet her role ended about halfway thru the series. Can't believe Gege did that to her, despite her potential & competence to be the FL of a battle shounen (poor Yuuji still thinks of her. And we don't even know what Gojo thought about her demise? 😮‍💨). Maki seems to have it better, yet some could argue she's just Toji 2.0/female Toji. Unfortunately, I thought about Toji when she was fighting Sukuna; I was like, "If Sukuna's this impressed by her, imagine Toji with his higher experience?" I doubt that's what Gege would want us to think when Maki's shining (or does he? 🤨😒).
• Don't even get me started on Utahime. She's the main teacher of Kyoto, loved by all her students according to Gege, yet we don't get to see it? She's barely relevant? Imagine what she felt as her students kept on dying or becoming unable to fight. Thru her character, such as during her investigation of Kyoto for the traitor, we could've gotten some great insight into how things are over there? We don't even know what the Kyoto school looks like 💀.
Her scar has several implications & yet we don't know how she got it? How has she dealt with being a scarred woman in Jujutsu society, especially considering Momo's words about such a thing during the Goodwill Event? Utahime could be a great role model to the girls, especially Maki now, & yet... 😮‍💨 (I'm telling you, she should've been the main adult female of the series, just like Gojo's the main adult male)
She's one of Gojo's friends, has known him for 10+ years, & is one of his few most trusted allies, yet we haven't seen how they got to this point? Their comedic interactions make us wonder how they built that deep trust. I NEED to know what happened between them during the timeskip!!! 😫
Her CT buffs herself & others. Why has she not been a part of any on-screen fight prior to the Shinjuku Showdown? There were a couple instances where we almost saw her in action & yet... Why did Gege gatekeep her CT for so long? To showcase her CT for the first time for Gojo & Gojo ONLY. He's insane. They can't beat the package deal allegations. So, does this have any meaning? Can we hope for more-
• I sometimes wonder if JJK would be better as a seinen like I once heard he intended for it to be... There are definitely elements of that... How much darker could the story get, since sometimes Gege pushes the boundaries of Shounen Jump (I know he wants to, lol)... How much more fleshed out could it be if he was writing it the way he wanted to originally (supposedly he never intended for a school setting but was forced by his previous editor?)... Maybe we could even get a Tokyo Ghoul:re style chapter with GjHm during the timeskip if y'all know what I mean-
So, to sum up: JJK is interesting & I would recommend it, but there's a whole lot of wasted character potential, terrible pacing, & lack of interactions, development, & world building. There's so much we don't know & Gege wants to end it already? He's sitting on a gold mine & yet... 😑😒
No idea how things will end but I can at least hope for an open ending that leaves us with some hopeful possibilities... Uh, right?
Also... GOJO WILL RISE ✊️

So I'm getting the HijiTae community ready. I don't think it's going to be an active place, but I thought I'd make it, anyway. It will give fans a place to discuss anything HijiTae and Gintama in general, too, as a result of that. I'm still sprucing up the place.
Anyway, when the time comes, I'll let you all know!
(May autumn and winter bring more new HijiTae fanworks. 🙏 I'm 60% done that HijiTae Christmas fic I started 3 years ago, lol...)

hi nexyyy !! i don’t really watch anime but i started watching jjk because of your & kenny’s fics. i’m almost done with s1 and ahhhhhh mhm mhm thank you for getting me to watch it !! i know it’s super popular but i wouldn’t have started watching if it wasn’t for your fics. are there any other anime’s you can recommend ? I’ve watched death note and i’m currently also watching hunterxhunter with my brother. anyway - sorry for the long ask !! mwahhh
Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiii Anon!! That's so sweet! I'm glad we could inspire you to watch! There's tons of anime I love, so sorry if the list gets kinda long. They're not all the same genre as HxH and JJK, hope that's ok tho!
Tokyo Ghoul Season 1 (the rest don't really follow the manga and weren't as good 😔) is worth the watch. And if you ever feel like reading it, it's one of my favs of all time.
Fruits Basket. Watch the remake, not the early 2000's version. It might seem really cutesy at first, but that story has a special place in my heart. The anime isn't that long and is completed too.
Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood. A classic, well done, perfection. <3
Chainsaw Man
Demon Slayer!!!!!
The Castlevania series on Netflix is a really well done more western type of anime.
Attack on Titan - its gorey and the end is controversial to a lot of fans.
Anime classics I love: Naruto, Bleach, Gintama, Cowboy Bebop, Neon Genesis Evangelion
Code Geass
Dororo
Owari no Seraph
The Apothecary Diaries
Black Lagoon
I haven't finished it yet, but a lot of people who like JJK also like Bungou No Stray Dogs as well. I am enjoying it so far. Dazai and Gojo share the same english VA.
Ermmm that's it off the top of my head. There's probably WAY more but then the list would be 10 miles long. 🙏

Thank you so much for the tag @jamesunderwater ❤
🍓 how did you get into writing fanfiction?
I remember coming across FF.net randomly one day years ago. I used to write before that but I have never published it online and just had them as drafts. After that I decided to tiptoe into the world of online fan fics.
🍇How many fandoms have you written in?
Bleach, Magi, KHR, VK, Gintama , Karneval, Osomatsu-san, Kuroshitsuji, HP, Red white & Royal Blue
🍈 How many years have you been writing fanfiction?
More than 20 years.
🍎 Do you read or write more fanfiction?
Depends on my mood. Recently been reading more than writing, mostly because I have strayed into a new fandom. But when I start to write, I don't read anything to stay focused.
🍌 What is one way you've improved as a writer?
I think the most important improvement is that I have learned ( or at least I hope ) how to use comma and full stop in my writing. Yes, it sounds simple and stupid but my first language's way of using them is absolutely different, so I used to mix up a lot.
🍑 Do you have any bad habits as a writer?
I have absolutely no patience for editing. ( I do it of course and I have lovely betas who help me ) but the way I'm so impatient to post practically is like a toothache. 😭
🍍 What's the weirdest topic you researched for a writing project?
Different cat foods for my - Sirius has a pet kitty - HC 😼
🍉 What's your favourite type of comment to receive on your work?
Those kinds which are like : knehfejvfwgfej 🤭 also I love it when my lovely readers put time and write a review in which they insert they favourite lines ♡
🍐What's the most fringe trope/topic you write about?
Sirius digging James' practical rotten corpse out of his grave .
🥭 What is the hardest type of story for you to write?
Long ones because I'm very lazy and also my concentration period is 0 .
🍏What is the easiest type?
I'm generally a angst writer but funnily enough writing humour is way easier for me. 🤣
🍑 Where do you do your writing? What platform? When?
I use Google doc, but I always write my sudden ideas in a small notebook I have. I generally am more comfortable with it. So, I have a notebook filled with chicken scratches. xD
🍋What is something you've been too nervous/ intimidated to write, but would love to write one day?
Jily. I mean, I have written jilypad and I'm writing jily in my drafts but I'm very nervous about sharing it one day, since getting Lily's character is a bit hard for me. Also, I want to try my hand at Sirius/Bella but writing that supernova explosion needs confidence which I don't have. 😭
🍇What made you choose your username?
My friends in AF kept calling me that and it remained. 🥰
Open tag. ♡

Hello! This is very late but I realized I read your gintama fics and I wanted to share that really enjoyed them!! Especially two in girl years is equal to ten in man years, I loved the Okita introspection and the exploration of okkg's relationship post time skip. Thank you for sharing your writing 😊
That’s so nice to hear!! I’ve been a fan of your gintama illustrations for such a long time! Not only are they lovely, I really love the heart put into them. And not to mention your recent flower series! I’m excited to see your future works.
I really hope I have enough time to write more for the series. I actually want to write a sequel to that particular fic. Suddenly, I miss okikagu all of a sudden haha.

do you read any gintama fics :o
tbh not really 😭 I’ve gone on ao3 a few times but overall I think that gintama is one of those things I care about too much while simultaneously having had to accept and come to terms with its lack of popularity and fan activity so trying to read fic for it is pretty painful… but it’s also because there really isn’t much out there that’s “up to date”

talk about takasugi...
i'm imagining anon sounding really resigned here for some reason lmao thanks for asking
Tumblr media
and we have a bingo! yay!!
too many items here so i'll just talk abt the really noteworthy ones/ones that aren't self-explanatory
Most fandom takes are incorrect: oh boy oh boy if i see one more instance of someone saying takasugi's death is justified because he's "stuck in the past" or something i'm gonna go out and maul a lamppost.
perhaps as a result of this fandom-wide perception that takasugi's death is either Good and Justified and Deserved or Tragic but Inevitable i don't see many people challenging it in fanfics. sure you get the occational takasugi lives!au fics, but on the whole, gintama fans follow takasugi's canon death more faithfully than they follow his canon characterization. you can imagine my frustration
Writers dropped the ball on them: sorachi's no.1 sin is giving takasugi a cheap death and his no.2 sin is giving takasugi an even cheaper resurrection. sorachi's no.3 sin is giving takasugi gintoki traits he doesn't have in order to make the guy appear more sympathetic to the readers/audience, instead of exploring the other side of the traits takasugi does have
like takasugi is not known for that kind of self-destructive altruism and he's not some lone wolf who prefers to work all by himself?? a huge part of takasugi is self-centered. i'm telling you that he definitely wants to leave a legacy behind and make his name known. he's also a team player who would seek assistance and cooperation if necessary. now wouldn't it be nice to explore those traits instead of shoving him into sorachi's Nice Guy Formula
sorachi's no.4 sin is never including takasugi in any of the comedic arcs
Don't typically discuss irl because of the fandom: not irl per se but outside of 2 trusted friends who're not in the fandom i don't discuss him with anyone much. and yes it's because of the fandom. :/
I can make them worse: and i don't mean make takasugi's physical/psychological condition worse—we have plenty of that in canon already. but i actively prefer takasugi's characterization pre-sa arc when he was still the "villain" of the stary and the driver of his own character arc and his nicer side was more subtle and nuanced
i never thought of takasugi as terrible but i think he should be allowed to be less good post-sa arc. or at least less sorachi's brand of good
Stop putting them in situations: more like Stop stabbing him and killing his loved ones. not just because it gets upsetting to watch but also because the same trick gets old. maybe Start showing more sides of him we haven't seen (that are actually his sides instead of other people's sides we have seen). make him deal with kamui's shit during their period of alliance. make him babysit shinpachi and kagura. make him respond to isaburo's texts. just whisk him into Shenanigans in general
Lost potential: everything in this post

For the fanfiction/fandom questions or whatever it is.
7, 16, 28, 48, 51.
Thanks for asking immediately after I reblogged it!
7. List your NoTPs from each fandom you’ve been in.
Well, to be honest, I don't know if I can call these NoTPs but here you go. Naruto: For sure, SasuKarin will always be the biggest NoTP for me in fiction. I don't like their dynamic, because it's pretty eerie and creepy. SasuSaku is misunderstood to be like that by SK fans, but sorry it's the other way around. SasuKarin is nowhere near SasuSaku to me. And I quite don't like SasuHina too. Nothing compels me to ship them. I don't like KibaHina or even ShinoHina. I can't imagine Hinata with anybody besides Naruto. Beyblade: Well, for sure MaxxMariam is not my cup of tea, welp sorry. I can write something for them, but I can never ship them or imagine them as a couple. They have enough scenes, but their personality types together as a couple are not really my thing. Rick and Mariah's ship is something I never thought about. I am quite indifferent towards ReixSalima too. I mean their dynamic is good, but I guess their scenes are not pretty solid enough to ship them, given that Ray is one of the mainstream characters. But it's all just to my eyes only. KaixHilary is also a couple I show less interest in. Jujutsu Kaisen: SukunaxMegumi? SukunaXYuji? I don't like them. Gintama: GintokixKagura? Pedophilic.
I don't think I have NoTPs from other fandoms I've been in. Or I guess I can't think at the moment.
16. Are their any popular ships in your fandom which you dislike?
I guess my answer is the same as that of the above, excluding all the infamous ones.
28. If someone were to draw a piece of fanart for your story, which story would it be and what would the picture be of?
I want somebody to draw a fanart for this story called "I care".
48. Do you leave reviews when you read fanfiction? Why/Why not?
Yes, I do leave reviews for most of the fics I read, because the writers would be tempted to get reviews, and I would also feel the same when someone reads my fics too. So, I guess it would be hypocrisy if I don't leave them.
51. Rant or Gush about one thing you love or hate in the world of fanfiction! Go!
AAAHHH
Don't compel me to read fics that I don't want to! And why the heck the fewer reviews I get! T-T
I just wish I had more readers around, and the lack of readers made me not publish fics for longer go. I wish I could get back to writing but I'm not motivated enough. The sparse reviews kinda tick me tbh. Fics featuring my underrated faves don't get much recognition. Or I guess I should have joined earlier.
BTW I kinda ranted in the 7th question itself hahaha.
Anyhow thanks for the ask!

Omg that sounds super interesting (and I already know that I'm going to love the reader just by reading your summary fvzbxba) !
To be honest you're also one of the rare Gintama writer that I follow since the fandom is kinda dead now. I'm always super excited when I see you post about your inspiration for an eventual futur fic (I'm still thinking about those two Sougo fic idea that you posted about a while ago lmaoo) !
HSIFJHDKF this makes me so happy THANK YOU! <3
yeah the fandom is kind of dead right now but I'm guessing that the Ginpachi-sensei anime that's expected to come out in 2025 might revive it? I'm not expecting a booming popularity kind of revival but I hope Gintama does gain some new fans (AS IT DESERVES!!) I need more Gintama content myself like someone let me indulge in sweet moments with Gintoki please !!!
and omg speaking of those two Sougo fics (the fact that you still think of them makes me feel very honoured),,,, ngl I really want to write the mafia one but I can't seem to think of an actual storyline for it. Though now that I think about it, I could write like an episodic thing. Well, something to consider!! but probably not so soon, needa tackle this Gintoki fic first. There's still one chapter that's still kind of bare. I think I got myself a nice title though, inspired by a poem. I may change it on a whim but for now I'll title it a blue sky glimpse.
Me manifesting I will finish this fic 0-(-(

Fangless Chapter one: One lost stray dog.
Pairing: Shinsengumi x Reader (developing story) Genre: Drama. (developing story)  Chapters: 1/?  Word count: 1, 870 Summary: You are a simple country girl, with some skills for the sword, that moved to the capital of a samurai country, you meet a very nice police officer named Yamazaki Sagaru that somehow talks you into trying to get into the Shinsengumi, Hijikata and Okita are the ones to take your interview, but you can’t seem to calm your nerves before it even starts. You are not aware of it yet, but the small risk you took will cause your life to spin around one hundred eighty degrees, adventures are just starting.
A/N: This is the prologue of my new shinsengumi series called “Fangless”, this special story will be a little complex, since it will have two story directions, the Hijikata route and the Sougo route, I have little planning on this so I’m just going with the flow. Please enjoy it!
— You will do fine.
Yamazaki’s voice was somewhat soothing, although if you were honest to yourself the mere idea of standing before the three heads of the Shinsengumi was absolutely terrifying; the heat of your nervousness could be felt at your palms, sticky from the sweat that relentlessly creeped at the tip of your fingers.
You didn’t quite fit in the average city woman cliché, your father, a brave samurai that had fought alongside the four heavenly kings during the Joui War, didn’t raise you to be so. From a young age, living outside the main city and practically in hiding, you had been trained to defend yourself and those whom you loved, day by day you would pick your father’s sword and swing it at a very worn out tree trunk outside your home, you could even still hear his yelling at night “Leave no openings!” “Swing higher!” and his personal favorite: “THE SWORDS ARE NOT MADE TO CUT BREAD!”. You learned, and you learned well. The days of your youth were filled with stories from your mother, on how your outstanding father was fighting those who tried to take what was ours, you always longed for his return, everyday staring at that one single path, the one you were not allowed to walk, for the day you could see him in the horizon with that bright smile of his. It would be natural to say he didn’t come back, to remark how he bravely took a hit to defend the captain of his unit, keeping him alive and allowing the rest of his comrades to escape, that would later become your motive to seek revenge towards those that didn’t have mercy on your beloved father, yes, that would be natural, but you’re not the main character of some corny Shonen Jump manga, you’re a simple country girl. He returned home, not completely unwounded but well enough to continue raising you as the loving father he was. You grew and became wiser, you had been a model daughter and dedicated student, that’s why your dad did not hesitate to let you go when you told him your mind was made up: You wanted to go to the city, learn the sword formally, possibly at an elite academy that could take you to the next level. He understood right away, his wisdom had always gotten through you, and those famous words were always in the back of your mind no matter what you did, or where you were, “You have to find your samurai way.” He would always say. Yes, your father watched Naruto a lot, but that sentence just made good sense, or so he made you believe.
Your first week in the big city was anything buy easy, your landlord had promised a two-bedroom apartment but forgot to mention the second room was a motel room, and on top of that he had “accidentally” lost the ticket for your first deposit, so you would have to make it again. You were quickly running short of resources, the money you had brought along turned out to be insufficient, you underestimated how expensive living on your own could be, and getting a job was long shot since you had no real work experience. If the whole situation wasn’t shitty enough, there was no way you could’ve expected what happened next, no one informed you about the sword ban, and when a couple of “amanto” confronted you about it you just stopped on your tracks, however, someone in heavens was really on your side, for the police officer that was in charge of your arrest was no other than Yamazaki Sagaru.  A kind man, didn’t seem much older than you, later you would find out it was just his ridiculously toned skin that gave you that idea, but he stood up for you, even when the rude-ass creatures kept calling him a good-for-nothing human, it made your blood burn to the point you could actually feel it’s steam coming out of your ears, but you knew better than to simply react to shallow words. Later that day, even when he took you handcuffed to the headquarters, he would just let you go with a warning, you didn’t seem like a city-girl anyway, he told you to be careful with your sword in public, it was against the law and not of the liking of those humanoids, so if you wanted to avoid trouble you would have to keep it at home. The mere thought lit within you a fire, how could you keep such an important part of you back home like it was just another ornament at the motel? No. You couldn’t. You spoke up against it. Yamazaki was taken aback, very much, but oddly he welcomed your little speech about not giving up a piece of your soul for the contentment of space-trash with a smile. After a little bit of chit-chat, somehow he talked you into taking the upcoming recruiting exam, the physical tests were just two days later, you did excellent and the examiner gave you a pass for the in-person interviews, now this was the tricky part, you already had the underhand for being a woman, let alone the fact that you weren’t really used to being with other people, specially face to face. In short, that’s how you had ended up in this situation, waiting for the commander, vice commander, and the captain of the first unit to arrive for your meeting.
— I’m not even sure of what to say, Yamazaki-san. — you muttered, as if there was anyone else in the room.
— They will just ask you a few questions, be candid, just tell them what you said the other day, you want to protect this country and your loved ones without leaving behind your sword. You are not much different than the rest of us.
The door slid open before you could say anything else and the air seemed to tense up altogether with your body. The first man entered the room, he was tall, dark-haired but you wouldn’t quite describe it as black since it had a glimpse of a greenish tone when the light hit in a right angle, he stood straight at all moments and with a steel-like sort of look in his face, the smoke smell coming from his lit up nicotine stick made your head throb as it entered your nostrils, but since that was the man deciding whether or not you had a job you preferred to keep your thoughts to yourself. Right behind him a second man appeared, he had more the appearance of a kid, at least on his face, ashy brown hair long enough to meet the beginning of his eyebrows that seemed to match pretty well with his red-shining eyes.
— Let’s begin with the interview.
The tallest sat down right before you, legs tucked formally under him, the younger mimicked his actions, both of them seemed expressionless, the captain even seemed bored with the whole situation, you could even make out from his flickering eyelashes that he was probably asleep before he was dragged into this.
— My name is-
— No need. — The vice commander interrupted again. — I don’t think we’re getting anywhere with you, I don’t think you would fit any position.
— Is that so? — you asked back — because I’m a woman?
— Judging a character by their gender is a naive move, you received very good recommendations from the examiner, but your profile is another matter. You just arrived to the capital, you have cero experience in the actual field, and your first meeting with the police was for being arrested.
— That’s actually my fault, Vice commander. — Yamazaki barged in. — You see, she didn’t know about the sword ban and-
— Yamazaki, it’s a crime against our rule code to interrupt your superior, please commit seppuku immediately.
Your new friend sat back down, he seemed terrified but not surprised of his superior’s approach.
— I cannot allow such a cadet to join the academy, there’s so much more you still need to learn which we will not be able to teach you.
You were furious, you knew he made sense, but it still pissed you off the way he talked with such superiority, he hadn’t even taken a look to what you could do with that sword, you knew his decision was final, but something within you didn’t accept it. It was not your plan to join the police, it was nothing near your dream either, but those few minutes Yamazaki had talked so fondly of his labor and how it affected normal people for the better had gotten through you, and passion started pouring from your heart the minute you had stepped into the compound. You didn’t like the sensation of being cornered, so you finally spoke back up.
— I’m sorry, but I was told the commander would be here.
— Kondou-san was unable to attend.
— As far was I was informed, Kondou-san is the one to make the final decision whether candidates are capable enough to be part of the force, if he is unavailable, I’ll be happy to reschedule this interview.
Without further word you stood up and left the room, leaving those who would have been your bosses behind. There were some shocked looks, specially the one on Yamazaki’s face, but overall the room was silent, with the three men equally speechless.
— A woman who talks back, huh? — the brown-haired guy finally contributed to the conversation.
— Like we didn’t know enough of those already.
The vice commander lit up another cigarette after setting down the burnt out one on the ashtray by his feet. He inhaled the nicotine, feeling its intoxicating effect take over his body before letting it out in what seemed a tired sigh. None of the men’s eyes had left the same spot, the door you had just left through, almost waiting for you to come back and apologize at any instant. You didn’t.
— You know, Hijikata-san, she got the best reviews out of all the applicants. Plus, I like the idea of having someone that can put you in your place around.
— She didn’t put me in my place, Sougo. — The final ashes fell off the second cigarette, making Hijikata do a small clicking of his tongue when it landed on his black uniform. — Yamazaki give the tape of the skills exam to Kondou, and also the tape of this interview. I hate to admit it, but after all he is indeed the one to make the final call on this.
Hijikata stood back up with Sougo following after him.
— Yes, vice commander. — Yamazaki responded respectfully before inquiring again. — So, what do you think?
— Knowing Kondou-san, I think we are about to get ourselves a little stray dog here. You have to be ready, Sougo.
The young man didn’t seem to look back at his superior, his stare was still nailed to the closed door, but if he had paid attention he would have been able to notice that there was a small smirk on his face that came out along with a small exhale.
— Don’t worry, Hijikata-san, it will be my pleasure to turn her into a wolf.

Finding Our Place in the Sun
Tae continued speaking, sharing the things she had noticed in her patrol. Listening and nodding here and there, Tsukuyo’s eyes were drawn to the thin, small scar on Tae’s neck. No longer under Housen’s control, women didn’t need to purposely scar themselves or else earn one from Tsukuyo for protection, but seeing Tae’s scar brought back memories of those darker days. Tae hadn’t yet shared the origin story of her own scar, and she seemed to forget she had one, but Tsukuyo still wondered who had gotten that close to cutting her skin and leaving a permanent reminder of a near-death experience.
Set during the two-year time skip of the Silver Soul arc.
As leaders of their own districts, Tsukuyo and Tae exchange information, assist one another in battle, and enjoy tea and cake and each other’s company.

I adore Tae and Tsukuyo so much, and because there was/is so little content featuring just the two of them bonding, I wrote a fic of them doing just that.

When Megane Screams "Dondake!", History Repeats Itself Ch. 2
PAIRING: Gintoki Sakata X Tae Shimura X Takasugi Shinsuke GENRE: Romance/ Comedy RATING: K+ DISCLAIMER: I do not own Gintama. Sorachi ''Gorilla-sensei'' Hideaki owns this awesome story. (ง ͠ ͠° ل͜ °)ง NOTE: Apologies in advance. Grammatical errors and OOCness ahead.
CHAPTER 2
In the midst of the chaotic battle, Takasugi Shinsuke was separated from his group, unaware what just happened all of a sudden. Running away from the enemies wasn't his thing, but he didn't have any weapons in his hands to fight the battalion of amantos approaching hence, he retreated like a coward to find something he could use in his defense. Taking the seemingly endless path made him witness the whole Edo in complete mess- destroyed establishments, people shouting, women and children seeking for help, and fights that no one knew when would subside. On top of the clouds, he could see numerous flying ships and if he wasn’t careful, the enemies above would spot him and that would be a bigger trouble.
