𝘎𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘮𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘢 𝘱𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘥𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘺𝘭𝘢, or yarrow plume mouth, lights on a cow parsnip. I think it may be laying eggs, I couldn't find (quickly/easily) information on it, but that's what it looks like. As she crests over the visual horizon of the flower-head, a 𝘔𝘪𝘴𝘶𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘢 𝘷𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘢, or some such similar flower crab spider species, comes to the ready. Perhaps, because she was not at the ready already, the moth may have seen her raise her legs, and flew away, leaving a clearly disconsolate spider. One of the spiders sisters on a nearby cow parsnip shows how it is properly done, complete with some webbing, allowing second chances for near misses. One must always be prepared! #soldotnaalaska #soldotnacreekpark #sonydschx400v #SonyCameras #sonydsc #cowparsnips #yarrowplumemoth #gillmeriapallidactyla #crabspider #crabspiders #misumenavatia #dramainthepark (at Soldotna Creek Park) https://www.instagram.com/p/CRjfIeWBrbC/?utm_medium=tumblr
