79. Murder at the Movies
I'm currently very sad because
a) my depressive streak is not ending nor getting better
b) MY AUREOLIN PLUSH IS MISSING
It says she was delivered and she was in the mailbox and she is not there. And now we have to complain about a missing package.
And of all the packages to go missing, it's the one with something completely irreplaceable.
Here's the draft for Pearl, AGE, designed by Fletch. She is a vaporer moth, a species in which females lack wings, although she has a more ant/spider-like face. She speaks in an Australian accent that is so thick, she's nearly completely unintelligible. This is just a draft, Fletch will make her full official artwork eventually.
DON'T READ THE EPISODES UNTIL YOU'VE FINISHED THE FIRST BOOK!!
Logico decides to see a movie, bc this season is about movies.
LOGICO: Even though all murder movies are actually BAD. Unless I’m in it.
The usher is dead!
LOGICO: Well, that’s more entertaining than the movie would have been.
Unfortunately, Blaxton, Smoky, and that Dusty idiot from one season one episode had the same idea. And some insect lady named Pearl, American Guild of Editors.
PEARL: OI, MAY. NOISSA MEECHU. NAYM PUUHL. A-MEE-WAKEN GILLA EDIT US. LOGICO: …
Suspect time.
BLAXTON: I’m sorry, I HAVE to get my movie made! I can’t live without it, and I couldn’t have anyone in the way! LOGICO: That was the earliest confession we’ve ever had. BLAXTON: I’m not confessing to the MURDER, what the fuck! I’m talking about my obviously poisoned popcorn!
He inhales some and passes out. Even though he's a puppet. Pearl slides a dagger into her purse.
LOGICO: Why do you have a dagger, unless you killed a person. PEARL: I’MOY SELF-EFFENSE DAGG’UH! ‘CASE A PRICK!
Smoky launders in the corner.
SMOKY: I wish I could kill. It seems like everyone else has done it but me. Am I just not strong enough? I know I’m big enough. I can do it… can’t I? Oh father, oh father, why have the stars gone by? Oh father, oh father, why- LOGICO: WELL, that’s enough.
That means the only person who could have done it was Dusty! Or, y’know, someone’s lying. Logico shivers as he thinks of what he has to do next…
IRRATINO: Logico, it’s good to hear from you. LOGICO: STOP IT! Your soft voice is making me agile. IRRATINO: I think, if you look, you’ll find a chip of actual bone was discovered in the lobby. Or at least I did when I was remote viewing from house arrest. LOGICO: You’re watching me? IRRATINO: Yea… LOGICO: EVERYWHERE?!? IRRATINO: …no?...
Logico pouts. So gay! <3 Turns out he didn’t even need to admire his goat, because Dusty really DID do it. Honesty pays, kids!
DUSTY: We were watching the movie, and he told me about his idea for a mystery film, and it was so good, I had to have it! So I killed him, yeah! But now I have his idea, and if they don’t let me make the movie, then I won’t share it with everyone, and only I will enjoy it! LOGICO: Literally everyone hates you. PEARL: WEH NAW, OY-KEN GE’A BEYA SATE DEN EH? BLAXTON: And I can make my movie! SMOKY: And I can kill my first person!
So it all worked out after all.
The end!
I cried drawing this I'm so fucking sad right now
The power of Goat Lord compels you!
See you next time murdlers!

Songs about (Northern) Ireland by Non-(Northern) Irish Artists: Worst to Best
Arising from a conversation with @cparti-mkiki on the famed Les Lacs du Connemara, I decided to make a poll in which participants may vote on the worst song about (Northern) Ireland by a non-Irish artist.
The vote contains solely songs that touch upon historical and political issues from Irish-born soldiers in the American Civil War to the Troubles to Ed Sheeran's grandparents' cross-confessional marriage.
A few caveats:
i do not mean to imply that only Irish people can have an opinion on (Northern) Irish history and politics, or can't make art relating to it; yet naturally, their voices should be heard first, taken seriously, and treated with greater weight and above all, respect.
Especially for artists with no first-hand connection to a political cause and/or historical event they write about, the slope between a genuine protest song and the commercial exploitation of current events or a political sentiment is a very slippery one. It is wit this backdrop in mind that I made this poll. None of the revenue created by any of these songs (to my knowledge at least; except perhaps in a way, Les Lacs du Connemara) directly profitted Irish people or organisations, and sometimes, rather odd and unfortnuately-phrased takes shine through in dodgy lyrics that betray an evident lack of understanding of the situation at hand.
Please note that the mere inclusion of a song on this list does not necessarily mean I think it is absolutely horrible; this is just a selection from a wider pool of possible contestants, narrowed down to fit into a Tumblr poll.
The rules:
Tumblr polls are limitted to 10 options, so I picked 9 songs fitting into the outlined cateogry that I could think of and added the tenth option of leaving your own addition in the tags.
Please vote on the song you think is the worst of the lot. The best, conversely, will be the one with the least votes.
In the poll, the songs are listed chronologically in order of their release from 1977 to 2017.
If you're unfamiliar with a song or just curious, I'll include links to them on YouTube and a lyrics page under the cut below the poll.
For the moment, I'll hold back on my opinions on (some of) the songs featured in the poll so as to not influence the results, but feel free to add your own opinions, points of critique and discussions or, if arising, corrections!
The Poll:
Belfast (I, English version) – Marcia Barrett/Boney M. (1977) Lyrics
Belfast (II, German version) – Gilla (1977) Lyrics
Les Lacs du Connemara – Michel Sardou (1981) Lyrics
The House of Orange – Stan Rogers (1984) Lyrics
It's a Hard Life Wherever You Go – Nanci Griffith (1989) Lyrics
La Ballade Nord Irlandaise – Pierre Manuel Séchan aka Renaud (1991) Lyrics
Ireland – Garth Brooks (1995) Lyrics
Belfast to Boston – James Taylor (2002) Lyrics
Nancy Mulligan – Ed Sheeran (2017) Lyrics

However, this festival lures its party-loving dance music people for four full-on days of the best dance music on the Apres. Given most of apres festivals I usually list take place in France. Snow Machine is something a little different for anyone up for a global adventure. By day party people can take in all the sights of Hakuba Valley having their best dance-off, Apres style on the atmospheric mountain stages which host a line-up of the finest DJs. Moving the party on to dusk where the main arena comes alive for one hell of a rave on the backdrop of magnificent surroundings of the slopes. This festival delivers on a global scale! Tickets & more info LoveJuice - Road To Ibiza Rocks Launch Party 23 Feb There is no better way than to get ready for the summer season in Ibiza with one massive all-night party in one of the longest-running clubs in London. Ministry of Sound opened its doors in 1991 with inspiration from house music clubs in New York City. It was the first club to dedicate its sound to house music. Hosting some of the biggest and most famous clubbing brands in history. Always pulling in the max capacity crowds and the most famous DJs flying in from all over the globe to sell out events. As the weekend is cookin' up a dance music storm LoveJuice takes over the reign, with the Road To Ibiza Rocks launch party. Giving all its clubbers a taste of what's to come this summer in Ibiza. Ibiza Rocks has been one of the big success stories of Ibiza sellout weekly parties and hosting weekly residences drawing in a crowd. The line-up features Sammy Porter, George Mensah, Secondcity, Beyond Chicago, Patrick Nazemi, Charlotte Van de Peer, JAYDAA, Annabel Stop It, Tilli Murphy, Sonny Kane, Brian Smith, Charlie Webb, Macy Lancaster, Maxwell and more. Tickets & more info Wicked Little Letters 23 Feb Fancy catching a film this weekend. The Odean cinema has a cracking new film showing this weekend, across the UK, for all the lovers of the big screen. Starring lead roles from Olivia Colman and Jessie Buckley. It's a bit of a whodunit – but the question is who sent the letters. Taking place in the 1920 era, when curtain twitching was a thing. Incoming (Olivia Coleman) spinster Edith Swan is the ultimate curtain twitcher. Who starts to receive obscene letters in her doormat. Getting the community in a frenzy trying to establish the culprit of such offensive doings. Pointing the finger towards (Jessie Buckley) Rose Gooding. Never one to spoil a good plot that is as much as I'm going to give away. But after a hard week at work and in-need-of some downtime, it's a film I would highly recommend for the weekend ahead! Have you checked the weather? Let's face it - going to the cinema today is a full-on experience. From the mega surround sound, reclining chairs, a bar, and food it's perfect for a date night, a night out with the girls, or going solo. Already receiving rave reviews, lots of people are talking about this fabulous British Comedy. It's the perfect thing to get you out of the indoors for some for feel good laughter, helping to forget the miserable UK weather outside. Tickets & more info Read the full article
