Hi everyone!

So I've made a blog and intro post for the whump gif making challenge I've been working on! Go give a look if you're interested!

It's going to be relatively chill cause life has gotten busy for me so I don't know how much I'll be able to do but I fully plan on reblogging people's works and answering questions and maybe reblogging some helpful gifmaking tutorials and such. And hopefully the prompt list doesn't suck 😬

Hello everyone!! welcome to our 3rd round of Giftober!! 👋🪄

It´s so good to be back!! Last year event was fabulous so I really wanted to meet you all again finally!

If it´s your first time in this blog, I officially started this 2 years ago, with the idea that these October 31 prompts can specially inspire, encourage and support gifmakers across all fandoms!

You don´t need to make all 31. You can make as much and as few as you want. And not exactly in order nor you have to post on time.

If you can´t exactly fit one of the prompt with your fandom, no worries! You can skip it or... modified it as your convinience, think of another prompt, do one from the 2021/2022 events instead! 😁

I know it might be a few others challenges in October, and make a daily set for a whole month sounds quite overwhelming, so please, don´t feel any pressure to complete this one! (in fact, you can combine prompts from other challenges!)

Since you don´t need to post in time, you can finish this after the month is over. Although I´ll check the tag less frequently then.

you know what i would be quietly sad about the end of, when tumblr's day does eventually come? gifsets

there's no other site that's really set up for them to flourish like they do in tumblr's particular ecosystem - certainly not any that aren't running into the same problems of profitability and without being owned by a corporation making money elsewhere.

you could host edits on art sites, and maybe singular gifs on the twitter-alikes and the reddits of the world, but painstakingly crafted gifsets? much less viable

Before & After Gif Challenge

I was tagged by @werewolfnat to show off some colouring.

I decided to also in this show what the sharpening does, so in the circle is the colouring and sharpening, outside has none.

My primary aim with colouring - unless I'm doing something specific like making things intensely blue/orange etc - is to make it look like I switched on a light. I do tend to favour reds & warm colours a lot. Which you can see in these a lot. Here is a previous version of this in september also showing that.

I love seeing people do these, so tagging a few mutuals - but mutuals don't feel like you have to do this.

okay so i was tagged over a month ago by @klinejack to post some before/after coloring and i didn’t do it because i never know which gifs to choose for this since i make a LOT of them. BUT since i worked on some challenging colorings recently for my #destiversary gifsets, i finally decided to post some before/after from these gifsets only

Attention all whump gifmakers and visual artists!!!

I am seeking your opinions and advice.

So I am seriously considering creating a whump gif makers challenge for some time in 2024. I'm thinking maybe in August because it seems pretty empty in terms of whump challenges.

I don't know what it would look like or what I'd call it but I want something just for gif makers/visual artists instead of a writer's challenge that gif makers are allowed to take part in as well but are actually just geared towards writing and the prompts are really hard. There's so many writing challenges and I love them. I do. But lately I feel they're getting harder and harder for gif makers to participate in (that might just be my problem though who knows) in terms of prompts.

So I want something made specifically for whump gifmakers. An event to bring everyone together, meet other gif makers, learn and share skills, share our favorite whump scenes and find new ones to loves. I could also share gif making tutorials and resources for people who are new to it or would like to up their skills. From basic skills like screencapping and software and how to use programs like photoshop to more complex things like how to do layouts and blending techniques.

Would this be of interest to you all?

If yes, what kinds of things do you as a gif maker like best about prompt challenges? What do you like least? What would you like to see in a monthly gif making challenge?

🎨 Before and after colouring challenge 🎨

I was tagged by @ajcrowleys tysm for the tag lovely!

I never save my psd's unless it's for a particularly hard scene I've manged to conquer and the psd can be used again in general. These are all coloured from scratch as I gif them. This is a selection of things I happened to gif recently. As you can see it's either a really, badly lit show with no lighting, fighting against red/yellow filters or if you're really lucky, both!

I´m doing a post apart bc i was extending myself too much and kinda felt like i was hijacking the other thread 😳, so...

These are some colorings i did to the Doctor Strange movie for the ongoing Giftober event. ☺️

1. having fun with the colors, to highlight the greens.

3. taking out the criminal yellow filter 🤦‍♀️.
