Rolan didn't know what more he could say to emphasize how serious he was, not without coming off as insincere instead. So seeing that Sylverian still clearly carried worries left Rolan floundering internally for a few moments. What else could he do? Maybe nothing. The likelihood of that answer made it itch at him all the more.

Even so, Rolan shook his head a little in reassurance, at Sylverian's concern over him 'feeling the sting of a lie'. He couldn't deny some he might hear would nag his thoughts, but he trusted that he'd get an honest explanation from Sylverian for anything he asked.

"It's a discussion we needed to have." Rolan lifted the hand he held once more, to kiss one of his partner's knuckles. Only afterward did he reluctantly let go, to take up his fork again. "Besides, even if I minded, I've no right telling anyone they're getting dreary." His chuckle carried a sheepish tinge as well, as he remembered what a miserable embarrassment he'd been at the Last Light. Rolan continued sincerely, "I'm here for anything you want to talk about, Sylverian. Anything, not just what's fun."

He started in on his food again, glad to realize it hadn't cooled completely yet.

Clearly something else was on Sylverian's mind; Rolan wished he knew how to ease it, but could only hope the other would choose to share.

When an explanation did gradually come, his head tilted slightly at first. Then a small furrow in his brow arose; something about the way Sylverian had phrased Rolan having 'so much ahead of him' struck as odd, as if his love didn't also have just as much time, if not more. But, 'tainting' it? Rolan had known since their first day together that Sylverian's past was - to put it politely - colorful, even if he hadn't heard details.

His hold on the other's free hand tightened, just a little.

"I'm not high society. And rumors are only rumors; I prefer the truth of them, from you, when you want to tell me." Rolan leaned a bit closer where he sat, gaze fixed on Sylverian's face. "Maybe it is selfish to desire this... but, that isn't bad. Sylverian, you aren't tainting anything. And you won't. I don't want someone without sins, someone who strangers think suits me better. I want you."

A beat, for a deeper breath through his nose. "I've known people would judge my relationships, ever since the banishment. No matter who I'm with. It isn't easy to ignore that. But I won't let others' approval smother what I want, not anymore. So long as I have yours for this, for us, what else matters?"

His own food sat neglected for the moment, as he was too focused on getting all his thoughts out in some semblance of sense.

Now that he was seated closely to the other, Dean lost himself in starring for a moment. There was something about the other drawing him in, an intriguing kind of feeling. Made out of empathy for the sticky situation he'd brought himself into, the clear sign of desperation and uneasiness, the way Tom hung his head low. Perhaps Dean saw himself in the guy, just a little bit. A broken warrior scared by whatever life had done to him. The blonde never hope to come to this point himself, but it wasn't that unlikely. His life wasn't easy either.

For a minute his eyes roamed over Tom's features, taking in the similar structure to his face. If lifted off his burdens, he might even be an attractive guy.

"I see," Dean answered, even though he was far from understanding anything. It was hard to imagine even. "And these voices... they tell you to do such things?" A horrible thought to loose control over his own body, a shiver ran down his spine as he thought of it.

"Can you.. contact the other person in yourself?" his head tilted to the side, frown scrunching up his forehead.

It begun to slowly feel like a drawn out cat-and-mouse game. Obviously Dean hadn't expected to open up voluntarily and speak about his inner most things but usually it wasn't taking this long to get someone to talk. The blonde wasn't known for his patience, yet he really tried to stay calm. There was always the option of simply threatening Tom but to be honest, he'd rather have him talk without it.

A different approach then. Dean popped himself up from the chair, licking his lips as he moved over to sit next to Tom on the small couch. It made an unhappy noise with the weight of two grown-ups on it. Honestly, it felt like sitting in a stony hole. Not comfortable really. His arm found the backrest as he looked at the other, careful attention.

"Yeah?" Dean's tone casual, even a small smile on his lips, as if this wasn't some important info. "What stupid thing has brought you to be here, with me, tonight? What could've possibly happened for you to end up... here?" As the couch was small, there wasn't too much space between them. Dean didn't want to intimidate the other, the arrangement called for it.

Location: In a random gas station outside of NYC, 8:10pm EST

Evelyn had caught wind that there was a group of HYDRA operatives roaming New York City, and she had gone out to investigate. Despite her friend's warnings to not interact with HYDRA again, she had to do this. She couldn't stop until HYDRA was gone. She walked through the rain-soaked parking lot of the gas station, waiting to find you waiting for her. She had called you a couple hours earlier, telling her to meet you here. As she trudged through the puddles, she couldn't stop thinking about HYDRA. Why were they back? She'd never get the answer to that. She entered the gas station, brushing off her boots and letting her out of the tight high ponytail she had it in. Her brown locks falling over her shoulders. She pulls the teal strands of her hair to the front, and walks into the station. She saw you in the corner and walked over to you. She tapped a button on her bracelet, and her black and teal nanotech suit went back inside, revealing a baggy hoodie and leggings. "Thanks for not being late." Who are we?: We are a brand new 18+ roleplay server that takes place in a modern society AU where your favorite Danmei characters from the MXTX universe are attending college/university! We are also OC friendly!

What roles are there available?: In the Lanling Golden Institute you can be the following: a professor, a student, a tutor, a librarian, a student counselor, part of a fraternity, part of a sorority, and much more!

How does the living situation work out for certain people?: The university offers two main sets of dormitories (Block A and Block B) as well as mentioned above the Sorority and Fraternity houses. Faculty and staff by default live in Block B and below is more in-depth info on the dorm situation: Block A: Shared dormitories, these dorms are much more spacious than Block B dorms, whoever, walls are paper thin and no pets are allowed due to potential allergy risks. You will get a roommate assigned randomly and you will be stuck with them for the remaining of your stay. (think of it like a signed lease agreement) Block B: Private dormitories, these tend to be slightly smaller but that is only because they are realistically designed for one person. Pets are allowed, however you will need to pay a monthly pet rent fee and submit an application beforehand to Dean Jin Guangshan. You also have to apply for a living space here and application approvals tend to vary. Baizhan Brotherhood: The Baizhan Brotherhood Fraternity is a unruly, righteous, and dominant fraternity that does not take well to outsiders; especially those who do not come from wealth. Their main focus is to make college fun and a unforgettable experience by hosting the most memorable parties known to campus. However because of their elitist attitude only those who are friends with or invited by one of the members can attend and can bring a plus one. (you must send an application to join this , pets are allowed) Silver Butterflies: The Silver Butterflies Sorority is a mellow, down to earth, and accepting sisterhood that's main focus is building long term friendships and self improvement! Their acceptance rates are high and they are always looking for new friends to join. However due to being a sorority they are not allowed to host parties. (you must send an application to join this, pets are allowed)

What else does the campus offer and are there things to do outside of campus? Lanling Golden Institute also offers a fully equipped and remodeled auditorium with a performance stage, a band room, an art room, and a dance room for those students who want to pick up any extra curricular activities, there is also a library located in the center of campus. As for what you can do outside of campus, yes; Located 10 minutes away from campus is the heart of the city and there are many places students and faculty alike can spend time in, pick up a part time job in, or preform in. Options like a nightclub, a pub, a cafe, a beach, a park, a restaurant, and much more are available. The campus also offers special school events such as homecoming, sports events, plays, concerts, etc.

How does this work in terms of roleplaying? In the server there will be: a roster (a list of what role each character has for example: Jin Guangshan — Dean) , a character list that shows you which characters are open, pending and taken. (keep in mind after one week of inactivity or of having your character in a pending state due to waiting on a submission you character will go back into a open status), a claim channel (where you can claim the characters or drop any characters you feel you may be inactive with) and the submission channels (there is one for OC's and one for Canon, there is a attached template on both; you just out the form). Since we started not that long ago the majority of the roles are still available and the list is up to date. Once you pick a character, send over their submission, choose a room, and get situated there is a global group chat where students and faculty alike message on there daily this will be your main roleplay starter and how you seek out to RP with someone. Afterwards you can either start a private chat with someone's character, or even go visit them. The roleplay style is third person and semi literate to literate. We do use Tupperbox to roleplay if you are not familiar with the bot no worries, there is a linked tutorial on attached in the server.

Upon entering we require everyone to be above the age of 18 as there is some NSFW in the server and you will be asked by staff to show proof of age. All the mod team asks is for you, the user, to read and respect the rules as we want to make this an enjoyable and safe space for everyone. Aside from roleplaying we genuinely are here to build a community of people with similar interests and we do chat a lot out of character and host gaming events. Unfortunately, your muse uncovered some things that would destroy his career and reverse all the good he's done. So, to keep him from being outed, she had to make a choice.
