I'm not that good with words, but here it is:

I started to ship in the series in 2003, but I didn't even know what ship was back then. The DCAMU too was awesome. But when the series arrived in 2018 it blew me away in many ways, and especially with Dickkory. Their dynamic, their interactions were so interesting to watch, satisfying even. Then I started reading the Teen Titans comics from the 80s and they enchanted me even more.

I think what attracts me in their relationship is the complementation. And how they were able to help each other even with their differences (lots of them here).

Of course they had issues and clashes (mostly in the 80's) but the version of Titans dealt with it in such a satisfying way to look at, they have differences, they don't always agree on everything but they deal with it in a very healthy way (kinda).

As for each character, Kory became my favorite DC character and Anna's version helped a lot, she managed to portray Kory's personality with impressive balance. She's tough when she needs to be, but she's still sweet and soft too. And ofc, has such a wonderful aesthetic in most of her incarnations~

About Dick, I think that, like with Anna, Brenton helped me a lot to like the character. The balance between the traumas, his more reserved side and his comic side was good (although I have some criticisms against the first part), it was also something good to watch. He's not just a funny guy with a good heart, he's someone who carries trauma and troubled emotions as well. I think after the series I managed to understand him more as a whole.

And I think they helped me a lot to evolve in art, I owe them a lot for that. They've been my obsession for all these years 🤡 and I think they will continue to be!

I'm going to miss this version of them so much. They were my source of comfort and insanity and will never be forgotten.

Hey Guys! In celebration of Valentine's Day I want to challenge you all to share why you ship DickKory. Would be a fun way to flood the tag if you arent busy doing the fic challenge. What do you like about the characters as individuals and why you think they are better ~together~ ?

I'll start

I started shipping DickKory when I read some of the New Teen Titans run. But it's the TV version that really made me fall in love with them.

Dick comes across as mean and standoffish when we meet him. In reality, he was just sad. He thought he was a screw-up who deserved to be alone and his "friends" agreed. Every time they saw him they reminded him that he wasn't good enough and that he was a danger to others. But Kory told him sure you have issues but so does everyone else. We can figure it out together. She brought him out of his shell and he's always able to smile when she's around. Even during his lowest moments being near her makes him happier.

Kory on the other hand was completely lost when we met her. But even with amnesia, her first instinct was to protect Rachel and later Gar. When she got her memories back she tapped into an almost robotic state which we find out later is a result of her being trained to operate without emotions. But that's not Kory. As Zadira explains she's always rebelled and has always been emotional, kind, and empathetic. It makes her a terrible assassin and soldier but an incredible friend. Dick could have turned his back on her when she attacked Rachel; instead, he ran after her and defended her. Because he knows Kory. Dick gave Kory the space to be herself and be free. No one else in her life let her do that.

Their similarities are why they clicked so quickly despite being at odds when they met. Kory saw through Dick's tough-guy act and knew he just needed someone who cared to offer him help. Rather than shun him or allow him to push her away, she offered him genuine friendship. With Kory she got the to be herself around him. She got to exist without any rules or expectations. 💙💜
