Bichu buti or nettle is a wild plant in the Uttarakhand hills. It is made into a saag and consumed, interestingly. The whole plant has, as the name suggests, small hair-like needles that can cause immense pain. Usually it is plucked with tongs and then boiled or sung on the fire to remove the effect from the needles. The sting can be so bad that it will keep even cattle away. But then we found again a way to take it as a saagull to the plant's advantages. Bichu Ghas is a part of classic Uttarakhand cuisine, eaten with madua roti or steamed rice. Many adults may remember being piqued accidentally as a child or threatened by their mothers if they misbehave. Tapkeshwar Mahadev Temple is one of the most well-known Shiva temples in Dehradun. The main shivalinga at the temple is inside a natural cave, and it is located near the forest. Water drops from the cave's ceiling rain down on the shivalinga in a steady downpour, creating a curious sight. A natural Shiva Linga in a cave nearby gives the Tapkeshwar Mahadeva Temple its significance. Long ago, a river flowed through the tunnels, and water droplets dropped continuously on the Shiv Linga. For the people of the region, this became a sacred site. Guru Dronacharya, the revered teacher of the Pandavas and Kauravas in the Hindu epic Mahabharata written by Ved Vyas, is also said to have lived here. As a result, the cave is known as Drona Cave. In Dehradun, the Apkeshwar Mahadev temple is a popular pilgrimage destination. Hundreds of tourists from inside and outside Dehradun visit the magnificent Lord Shiva temple situated between the two hills throughout the year. Tapkeshwar Mahadev temple attracts visitors from all over Uttarakhand for its religious significance, and explorers come to see the water drops dripping on the Shiva ling in Drona cave, which is a spectacular sight. The water that falls down disappears underwater and can be seen as a waterfall a few yards away. Cool sulphur-water springs near the Tapkeshwar Mahadev temple, where devoted pilgrims bathe before entering the temple. On the day of Shivratri, a big festival is held around the Tapkeshwar temple. Every year, a large number of people attend a fair held on the occasion of Shivratri and pay their respects to the deity. Robber's Cave (locally known as Guchhupani) is a natural cave forming river, one of the best places to visit in Dehradun. The name of the place is the fact that during the British rule the cave was hidden away by the robbers. Here, water formations are visible that flow through the cave.
