i could probably keep writing patcap forever tbh. i have been having Thoughts recently about going back to an old fandom and writing some fics for that. but i have been resisting...

37. Talk about your current wips.

i have lots of ideas but only one wip at the moment! i've been typing it directly into the ao3 editor because sometimes you've just got to roll like that. it's a Hallmark Christmas Romance fic where the captain is the city boy who catches a midnight train going anywhere, and pat is the sexy lumberjack who teaches him the true meaning of christmas. sort of. it's basically crack and i'm having so much fun with it!

i reaaally love You Make Me by Weird Al :DD it's goofy and silly but also the stuff he says in that song is just how people talk about their Guys on here. also it's an oingo boingo pastiche and as an oingo boingo fan that scratches my itch juuust right

i have to be honest i haven't really read anything properly since i was 12. BUUUT i do remember fantastic mr fox (by roald dahl) being a huge favourite of mine. i read the book before i watched the film and i just adored both of them :] it's a comfort book for me probably

33) Which ghost would you least like to play and why?

Okay, originally I was thinking Julian cuz he's a Tory AND lack of pants. But idk, I know this isn't the costume ask but in terms of comfortability, I don't think I could stand being Kitty or Fanny. And Kitty has a lot more frills and shit too. In terms of personality and shit, Julian. But costume wise it's Kitty.

39) Would you rather share a room with Thomas (constantly sighing and reciting bad poetry) or Fanny (falls out of the window screaming every night)?

Ooh this one's actually kinda hard. Cuz I mean, they managed to turn Fanny into an alarm clock and being woken up by a scream would be kinda off-putting. But then dealing with Thomas' sighing and listening to Alison inspired bad poetry. Although, i could introduce Thomas to rap and create T-Thornz. Okay I think I'd rather share a room with Thomas. Mostly for that one reason but also, Fanny's great but I'm sure she'd also complain a lot about some habit of mine or whatever (and yeah it's kinda how she shows she cares but still. It'd get on my nerves)

Anyways, yeah nah I still think Thomas could do okay as like...a SoundCloud rapper or some shit :) (seriously tho he kinda went off with his rap from...the Sorry song ??? I can't remember but I know it was something)

your opinion on the ocean/seaside!! <3

When I was little I used to enjoy it, going to the beach playing in the sand. The highlight of our welsh holiday was visiting our cousins family's seaside cottage.

There was no greater disappointment though than brighton beach made of stones, a killer to the fun of a child.

As a teen I hated the beach. I'd sit on my phone, in a hoddie cursing the hours I felt wasted. It became a metaphor for the widding relationship between me and my family. The sticking point of our family trips I was growing out of.

Now as a adult, i like the beach a bit more. I don't think I could just sit there for hours on end, like my mum does because I'd be bored, but a bit of time by the sea is nice. I wish one day to get in a car with my mates, go to the beach stay till the wee hours having a bonfire on the beach. I don't think I'd get this though because my friendship is scattered now.

his hands roaming around your body as if he wants to memorize every part of you (he does)

cuddles of course !!! it doesnt matter if hes the big or small spoon he just needs to be with you.

Simon didn’t like to hold you. He liked to be held.

At first, you didn’t understand why he’d turn his back to you in bed without saying anything. You thought you’d done something to him, or maybe he was in a bad mood. You couldn’t be any more wrong.

Simon Riley, an absolute brute of a soldier, was silently asking for you to be the big spoon. You nearly didn’t believe it when he finally brought it to your attention.

He was too embarrassed to ask you, so he’d resort to flipping on to his side and wait. And wait. Until he realized you didn’t catch the memo, even after many hopeless attempts.

In his mind, he thought being the big spoon would somehow convince you he wasn’t manly enough, as if his title in the service or his pure stature wasn’t proof enough of his masculinity.

To him, being held was a blanket of security. Where he’d always have to watch his back out on the field, both literally and metaphorically, he didn’t have to keep an eye out at all times with you. It was a chance for him to find solace in a person, and when he explained this to you, he was surprised to find you so willing.

And oh, when it happened, Simon nearly kicked himself for holding back on verbalizing it for so long.

The warmth of your arms when they wrapped around him from behind, your face buried between his shoulder blades, legs tangled in his, he thought that this was what inner peace felt like.

He was silly to think you’d ever be the one to judge him for what most deemed ‘unmasculine’. In all of his broad glory, he felt safe the moment you held him, like a child does when they feel a mother’s embrace except it was from someone he loved dearest to his heart.

And you? You found that being the big spoon was rather enjoyable when the man you’re holding was so damn comfortable to snuggle up to. It was a win-win for you both.

You just wished he wasn’t an idiot that left you wondering all those hopeless nights until the truth came out.

As much as Simon enjoys coming home to a freshly cleaned house, warm dinner on the stove, it's the quiet type of homecoming that he really prefers.

This last mission had gotten extended by a couple of days. A minor discrepancy in the intel had left them scrambling to make a new plan, but everything gone smoothly after that. Because of this, you were left in the dark of when exactly your boyfriend would be back.

He didn't think to message you, to let you know he was coming home. After Nik had gotten them back to base, there was a short debriefing, mainly just a reminder to turn in their paperwork on time, and Price would see them all tomorrow at oh-six-hundred. At that point, Simon just wanted to get home.

It's quiet, when he enters the house, save for the TV playing in the bedroom. There's dishes in the sink, and it looks like you're a day overdue to sweep. But he honestly doesn't care about any of that, leaving his boots and bag by the front door.

You're laying in bed, in one of his shirts and a pair of underwear. There's something playing on the TV, a movie Simon doesn't recognize. Not like it matters. You're not even in paying attention to the TV, giggling at something on your phone. It's something large and dark in your peripheral that catches your attention, dropping your find to find your oversized boyfriend standing in the doorway.

"Simon! You're home!"

Maybe it's not some big welcome party, but just being able to hold you in his arms is better than anything else in the world. Although, maybe you could still make him your grandma's chocolate cake anyway. He was risking his life out there.
