When I first got onto GW/2, I sure could never have guessed just how much Sylvari were associated with death and Necromancers

Okay I knew Ember was DRAMATIC because of her role in Drizzlewood ("fall down and DIE!") but I'm just. Losing my mind at this scene

having Dougal come from Ebonhawke and start the book with the same mindset that GW1 players would’ve had toward Charr is. actually a brilliant narrative choice because I assume he’s going to have an arc somewhere in there about being less Like That toward Charr
I am making assumptions here tho based in the idea that presumably the books (alongside EOTN?) had the extra purpose of easing players into the more diverse world of GW2 other than telling bits of what happened between 1 and 2

Killeen is so precious, early Sylvari writing was the best. If I’m understanding the timeline of releases right Ghosts of Ascalon was the first introduction to a Sylvari character? having her be a necromancer was an interesting choice
since this is a book and not in-game tho and still based in that PS-era writing I am not expecting anyone but Dougal to survive
