Danny is physically clingy but Amanda is emotionally clingy. If he ever calls her Amanda rather than Mandy she spends the next five hours mentally spiraling wondering why he's mad at her.

They do genuinely have a lot in common -- daddy issues, philosophies of how people should be grateful it's not them on the front page of a newspaper, to remind people just how good they have it to be alive, the 90's, the debauchery they got up to in their 20s. True besties.

They like to tag team. One of them plays the role of "fuck around" and the other is "find out", and they'll switch it up each time.

They've fucked at least once simply because they were bored and had nothing better to do at the moment.

Amanda is one of the very few people (both survivors and killers) to even know Danny's name, and even rarer to know like 3 facts about him.

No I didn't I forgot to elaborate lmao

No fog AU, smushing up the timeline so that Danny and Amanda are both active at the same time. Danny taking up a new alias to be a fake crime journalist again only to find out Jigsaw has apparently made this city their own hunting grounds first, which intrigues him. He loves legends after all, would love to meet them...and perhaps overthrow them to become the newest boogeyman.

Something something a lot of cat and mouse between Amanda and Danny with the roles constantly reversing. She's keeping an eye on the suspicious journalist who's getting too close, he's already caught wind of being tailed. She figures out his dirty secret, just as he knows hers and Kramer's. She thinks Ghostface should be tested (and ultimately killed by one of her rigged traps), but John thinks Danny should have the chance to prove himself as they have pretty similar ideology if you think about it. Danny just likes to stir shit.

Basically it boils down to Amanda being protective of John and wanting Ghostface deepfried in acid, because at best he would get them all arrested and at worst he would be too eager to kill Jigsaw (she assumes). Doesn't help that she's jealous as hell, with John seeing potential in Danny as he did with Hoffman. And Danny just loves to torment her, it's so easy to wind her up, but he won't lie and say it's not a bit personal from time to time those moments she gets the upperhand. After all, she's gotten the jump on plenty of bigger bastards before - she and Ghostface are pretty evenly matched.

Extremely toxic and codependent hatefucking galore. It's gonna end with one of 'em dead with a 86% chance it was by the other's hand.
