Meet The Blogger - Prachi Garg & Himadri Garg
Tumblr media
In our latest interview series which I like to call “Meet the Blogger, where I spotlight inspiring creatives on this Blogger Magazine. We caught up with Prachi Garg & Himadri Garg who runs Ghoomophirosisters Indian travel blog. 1. Tell us a little bit about yourself and your blog? Ghoomophirosisters are the two sisters who have been exploring India from 10 years and above. Besides this, they do organize women solo travel events and motivate women to travel solo and propagate how wonderful it is to travel solo. In their quest to promote Tourism they do organize specific twitter chats and attract several international travelers. They pen down their travel musings at ghoomophiro.com which boasts of being one of the most inspiring travel blogs from India. They have been awarded by MadhyaPradesh Tourism as their best friend on Social Media in travel awards 2016/2018 and by Gujarat Tourism Board for their services and have been featured by CNN global as company for the women, by the women. 2. Describe what inspired you to start your blog? Back in 2007, Whenever we used to be back from our trips, and share our verbal stories to our friends, they get super excited and would want us to share the places to roam around the place etc in emails. It is then we realise why not disseminate the info that we have, experience we have to the larger group  for their benefit and this is how we started our travel blog ghoomophiro.com. Ghoomophiro in Hindi (our native language means – to roam around) 3. How do you motivate yourself to keep the blog up and running? The responses/ queries that we keep getting on our social media channels keep pushing us to evolve as better bloggers. 4. How active are you on a weekly basis? How often do you communicate with your followers? As on today, there are multiple channels to interact with the followers. We try to be in touch with our followers daily via Instagram/twitter posting pictures from our latest/past trips. However, we blog whenever we are back from any trip. 5. What do you think is the best social media strategy for getting more visitors to a blog? Good ContentRegular Engagement with the followersKeep Evolving with the time 6. Would you encourage other people to make their blog? Yes!! One should have a blog. It is the best way you can express yourself to the world with minimum investment. 7. A lot of people think that blogging is an easy way to make money online. Do you have some tips for those people who are interested in making money from the blog? NA. As we don’t see our blog as an easy way to make money online.  For us our blog ghoomophiro.com is an outcome of expressing our travel experiences to the world which can be used by our readers. In fact, in our opinion, if you start blogging with the mindset of making easy money, the quality of content suffers as you might be biased in your writings. 8. What was the most challenging moment in your blogging journey so far? Whenever we travel, we never capture things/places keeping in mind that we have to blog about it and once we are back, it gets really tricky for us to collate the content and present it the way, our followers look forward for. Believe us, this always remain a daunting task for us. 9. What is your greatest achievement outside of blogging? While Prachi Garg is an author of 5 bestsellers on entrepreneurship, Himadri Garg is working in the capacity of leadership position in an MNC organization. 10. Who is your blogging hero And Why? NA 11. What advice would you give to a new blogger starting out? Don’t blog just because everyone around you has a blog. Blog only if you genuinely would want to reach out to masses and be the voice of people. 12. Have you collaborate with brands? If yes, name few brands you worked with Yatra, Cleartrip, Neesh Perfumes, Nike Shoes, Sterling Holidays, Israel Tourism, Pugdundee Safaris, Forsyth Lodge, Dandeli Tourism, Kerala Tourism Board, Incredible India etc 13. Finally, what are your thoughts about BloggerMagazine? It is a good platform to bring bloggers from different niche under one roof. Ghoomophiro by Himadri Garg Book Review
Full of photographs, souvenirs and trinkets from around the world, the Kumar house was nothing short of a mini-museum of the flavours from the world. There were preserve-me glow balls from places that no longer existed- like the great barrier reef or the Hawaiian Islands, along with memory-cubes, that contained snap-shot holograms of places that the residents had been to and wanted to revisit…

Prachi Garg, an MBA, an entrepreneur, and a published author. She has written two books and working on the third one. The published books are ‘Superwomen’ and ‘Supercouples’. The titles are interesting for sure, but not only the titles, the concept, journey and future projects are interesting as well. Here Prachi is in conversation with C4N India.
Let’s hear it in her words:
Tell us something about yourself:
I am a true blue Mirandian, who loves traveling and writing. During my MBA from Great Lakes Institute of Management, I started http://www.Ghoomophiro.com, it was that time, I faced few challenges, and this actually made me interact with few of these inspiring ladies, which I penned down in superwomen. Since then, my journey to pen down about entrepreneurs is on. At ghoomophiro, we organize solo women travel and corporate team events. The USP of the organization is that we do not have fixed packages. Instead, we curate each and every trip based on our client requirements and interest areas. I also go out for workshops on entrepreneurship and take up lectures on the same with various e-cells.
Tell us about your earlier profession:
I was working with an IT MNC as a part of middle management.
What had inspired to become a writer?
I have always enjoyed writing since my childhood. You can blame it on my genes- my father is an editor of pharma journals. I have been penning down my experiences in multiple ways and writing a book was on my bucket-list, though was not sure, if it would be a fiction or non-fiction
For your book, ‘Superwomen’ and ‘Supercouples’, how did you meet these people and know their stories? And why these subjects?
Both of my books are based on the pure research followed by interaction with the fellow entrepreneurs. I decided criteria for the books, researched about the entrepreneurs falling in the criteria, and followed by the interaction with them.
Why Superwomen: During my start-up days, I spoke to few of fellow women entrepreneurs and this is when I realized that many of aspiring women entrepreneurs face challenges and definitely need inspiration to get going.
Why Supercouples: Working with your spouse have always intrigued me and this is what pushed me to speak to these wonderful couples to understand how they keep the balance between personal and professional life and how their relationship moves as they co-create their dreams together.
You can get the books here:
Super Women
Super Couples
Which are the most impactful stories according to you in these books?
For me, each of the stories is beautiful and is unique in its own way. Picking one story and saying it is most impactful shall be an injustice to rest of them.
How was the journey of writing this book for you?
I have been an avid reader. And have been penning my opinions since childhood. Writing book was always on my bucket list. So far, I feel good with the overall journey and feel contented whenever I get messages from the readers that they got inspired as they read the book.
Have you ever had writer’s block? If yes, then how did you overcome it?
Ahh!! Ask about writer’s block. I am frequently stuck and this continues for days unless I find my solace in mountains or in the jungles.
Tell us something about your experience of getting the books published:
Well for a first-time author, getting a book published is tedious. I remember the rejection days and chasing publishers. But as they say “All is well that ends well”. I am glad finally Srishti Publishers put faith in my concept and finally accepted my script. My experience with them has been fabulous. I personally feel they do due justice with no-voices like me.
Tell us about your other work too:
My upcoming book “Supersiblings” is about the relationship ups and down that Siblings goes through when they choose their siblings as start-up founders. It shall be an interesting and inspiring read against the regular sibling “nok –jhonk”. This book is a collection of 20 start-up founders who thought beyond regular sibling rivalry.
Besides writing, I run a travel start-up called “ghoomophiro.com”, wherein we organize corporate travel and women solo travel groups.
Do you write genre-specific content? Which is your favourite genre to write in?
Can’t really say about generic specific content, but yes I love writing on Travel & Entrepreneurship. One reason could be that I am able to add my personal experiences to them.
Where do you get ideas from?
I think ideas are more derived from our experiences and curiosity of what happens when?
Your favourite author/book and why?
Sudha Murthy and Paul Coelho because I feel they connect to everyone better and they are inspiring.
How would you guide the aspiring writers?
Never get discouraged by the small hiccups of life. Stay Strong and find the way to sail through the problems because it is then you can value your success more.

A rising health consciousness and wish for adventure in the people of India have meant that the number of trekkers is increasing by the day. Moreover, travelers are growing wise – they are realizing that it is no longer enough to just look at beautiful sights from the safety of vehicles.
The best way to enjoy the beauty of places is often to walk through them. One gets to enjoy nature’s beautiful works and sights of rare birds or animals. One gets a chance to talk to locals, learn about their culture, to appreciate their art, but above all, the very aesthetic experience of walking in nature is what makes trekking so amazing.
India has some rather amazing treks in the world. And one can easily find treks in all four corners of the country offering different degrees of challenge – from easy to moderate to difficult and as well as at different budgets.

Arguably, Rajasthan is the only state in the entire country that has the most colorful culture and traditions. No wonder why most of the foreign tourists choose this north Indian dry state to start their Indian tour. The major credit goes to the festivals that get celebrated all across the year in this wonderful historic land.

The historical city of Jaunpur is an important part of our heritage from Mughal times. In medieval times, Jaunpur was an important center of Sufi and Urdu culture and an example of good relations between Hindus and Muslims, an attribute still visible in the city’s art and architecture. Today, The city located in the district of Jaunpur in the state of Uttar Pradesh and is known for its wealthy and fertile land. The architecture in the region depicts an amazing blend of Islamic and Hindu elements that can only be found in a culturally diverse country like India.
