Thomas Quaye, a former Hearts of Oak legend, has been declared dead.
According to the family, Thomas Quaye passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2023, in the 37 Military Hospital after a protracted fight with a cerebrovascular accident. Quaye began playing organized football at Ken Harrison in Mamprobi, then moved on to Tejitex, the youth team of Hearts of Oak, and finally the State Transport Company Soccer Team. SAS Finance Group has notified the Ghana Football Association (GFA) that the 21 players of Ghanaā€™s 2009 U-20 World Cup-winning team can now collect their matured investment cheques. The GHā‚µ210,000 investment, made on their behalf by the Ministry of Youth and Sports in 2009, reached maturity on January 4, 2025. A globally-respected TEDx speaker and business mogul, Dr. Orleans-Lindsay ranks among Ghanaā€™s most cherished business leaders. He is the CEO of JL Properties and Executive Chairman of JL Holdings, with interests in real estate, agriculture, and more.
