Edit: Since people are already thinking I'm attacking others lemme put this disclaimer here instead: I don't hate anyone specifically for liking it, but I'm not gonna sugarcoat my active dislike of ggy and the act of liking ggy. I don't hate you, but I hate that you like it.

Please read thru the whole post because I'm not arguing with someone on lore I abandoned a year ago.

Daily reminder that GGY fucking sucks as a theory and a concept. I'm sick of looking at ggy shit everytime on the off chance I look back into fnaf. Gregory is the only character I still like from that franchise, and I'm sick having to sort thru fan art of the worse character ruining theory that spits in the face of what good can be salvaged from security breaches story, that people still like somwhow. I legit hate that so many people unironically like this, and somehow fault the games for not including it, and its plot holes. Gregory doesn't need some convoluted contrived mess to be an interesting character. Him being distrustful because he's been on the streets all his life is more than a perfect reason for his actions, not some overrated book that adds more problems than solutions if it was ever canon to begin with. I despise ggy with all mt heart and I wish more people shared this opinion.

And don't even get me started on how much of Vanessa retread this is, and its other many plotholes. Theres no evidence Gregory had amnesia. There's no evidence that Greg can hack. There's no evidence Gregory had or knew his parents, nor is there any evidence that he killed them. This post is long enough already. If I had the chance to purge ggy from the world, and people's minds, I would. Also a disclaimer again, before I end it. like even if theyre not canon they were still acknowledged?? Someone on the team STILL had to have gone up to Scott and ask “hey can we put a GGY ref in our game?” and Scott wouldve had to been like “yeah” for it to be there like its not that big of an issue…

I kinda thought it was obvious that mega cat studios games are gonna stay separate from steel wools main timeline anyways 😭 they cant interfere with another studios work unless theyre like actively collaborating I would think? And they deadass probably added the GGY line right around when the book released, probably added Garrett’s plane when the movie released, ect. Its all just to build up hype and not confirm/debunk anything

since Scott is involved with both projects I think that he ws the one to put the ggy ref in but yeah I agree. of course I'm not upset at fnaf fans for looking deeper and seeing if theres a way to connect things in general when new releases drop, but it annoys me when even after it becomes clear they dont fit they still try to connect things that clearly dont connect on purpose then get mad that the story is unsolvable

That's 100% debunked already but before the confirmation who patient 46 was I liked the theory that both patients 46 and 71 were Vanessa. It went like: patient 71 was Vannesa when she was her normal self and patient 46 was Vanny. It was purely made up on the fact that Vannys behavior did kinda line up with patients 46th and they were separated in the records bc of split personalities. It used to be fun thing to theorize about but it died quickly along GGY's release.

And here's one that's not necessarily debunked but also not 100% canon bc theres still plenty of debates over this: William Afton started experiments (or murdering) before CC's death. We know from Dittophobia that the experiments started in 1983 but some people argue that it all happened after CC's death so... (even tho it really doesn't make sense imo but whatever)

Going off a Tales from the Pizzaplex lore leak and building a (very guesstimating) theory.

No Spoiler TL;DR: I was very wrong about part of an SB theory that I’ve had for months now (Maybe even a year?). However, not all of that theory is lost… yet. Below is an attempt to make crucial corrections to my theory with the new info despite only knowing certain things. That’s pretty much it.

Okay, for anyone who’s either not scared about getting spoiled and/or has already seen the leaks for GGY, here’s the deal.

I was wrong about Patient 46 being Vanny. And I’m absolutely sorry if I made way too strong of a case for it for anyone who’s followed me and seen that theory. Granted, many theorists didn’t have much to go off of at the time ig, but I still feel like I need to own up and apologize up front.

The good news is, weirdly, Gregory being 46 isn’t that big of a game-breaking deal to me. My worst fear was Eleanor (AKA the Fazbear Frights main antagonist and the one villain I really want to actually throw hands with out of pure, foolish spite) was returning as Gregory. Thankfully, this turned out to be completely false and it was just a theory that I personally brushed aside. And, thanks to re-listening to the Retro CDs as well as this Twitter thread that gives the most likely explanation for the new SB inconsistency plot hole, I think I can revise another part of my old 46 theory. That being the whole court case thing.

In an older theory ramble of mine, I mentioned that there are other things that debunk Vanessa being an Afton as well as the court case still being legit. Because Greg is now confirmed to be 46, I can also say that the likelihood of the court case being Afton’s has increased for me. Mainly because it’s two entirely different characters having the same backstory involving a tragedy with their parents. Of course, Gregory/46’s side is directly stated. However, given the fact that it looks like Glitchtrap was gaining control over both Greg and Ness according to the Twitter OP, it’s starting to sound like Glitch really wanted to get this story out there to someone— anyone— for reasons I’m not sure of yet.

To back up Twitter OP’s claim about it being Glitchtrap controlling two people at similar times, here’s something I noticed when re-listening to the CDs: 46/Greg has an uncomfortable time sitting in the chair during one of his first recorded sessions. Then, a couple sessions later, he’s just relaxing in the same seat without a care in the world. He also starts to act progressively more and more like Glitchtrap from Help Wanted or Vanny from SB. Giggling when he finds out about what happened to the therapists. Reveling in the terrifying chaos going down in the Pizzaplex. Even sticking to be absolutely mute, but still communicating in some way. As much as the fandom jokes (joked?) about him being a destructive agent of chaos, I can guarantee you that the actual Gregory was only lost, very confused, and trying to be brave during the actual game.

Also, it was recently confirmed in the FNAF Encyclopedia that Vanessa is Vanny. And, since Vanny’s been established to be controlled (to some degree) by Glitchtrap, then that means Vanny is still present in the tapes. Just not in the way we thought, I guess. Huh.

Speaking of Vanessa, I also noticed something during her side. The further we go into her part of the story, the more tired and flat-sounding her voice becomes. I did also bring this up in my older theory as Glitchtrap controlling her— But I thought it was only temporary. Turns out this “flat-tone Vanessa” stuck around for a lot longer than I thought… And she acts more like William himself than Glitchtrap, which is even stranger. Insisting that she works a lot, refusing candy because of calories while 46 eagerly takes some candy, saying that she doesn’t like dark basements (which could be a whole lot of things, knowing William’s history), etc. It almost sounds like there’s two separate entities controlling one person each…? Unless Glitchtrap’s bringing William’s/his own acting to the next level by trying to mimic them, which is always an option.

But that’s not the topic I’m supposed to be discussing here. Let’s climb out of that rabbit hole and jump back into the court case. The only reason why Vanessa didn’t get called out by anyone for her potential lie is because of her job transfer to the Pizzaplex. If she stayed any longer like Gregory/46 did, then I’m sure the fifth therapist could’ve figured out that both of them could’ve lied. Mainly because the fifth therapist probably looked through her predecessor’s records, found that weird “coincidence”, and decided to confront the only one still in Therapy. An absolute shame that we didn’t get both sides debunked, but at least we’re on the right track now. Maybe Ruin will confirm or deny these suspicions, idk really.

The point is that I’m still convinced that Afton’s backstory involves the court case and 46 being Gregory actually enhanced that for me a bit. Now I’m just stuck here waiting for a potential GGY 2 just to see how Greg got out by the time of SB.

GGY sucks, a followup

Hi, this is a followup to my previous post about my hatred of GGY. You can read the previous one to get my general raw opinion on it. This serves as an in depth debunk of responses and further explanation to my previous post.

Same disclaimers apply. Also, this is not for the faint of heart. This is a pure opinion piece about my pure raw hatred towards GGY explained, not an attack on others.

Gregory is not ggy and makes no sense for Gregory to be GGY. It's a stupid concept that's an insult to the character of Gregory. It's nothing but glorified headcanon that flanderizes Gregory's character into the exact opposite of how he is like. It's the objectively worse of Fanon as a whole, and that's saying something given this is the fnaf fandom we're talking about.

1) Gregory being possessed by glitchtrap is nothing but a silly, infuriating, overrated concept that has zero bases for being true. It makes him evil for the sake of contrived moody teen drama nonsense that goes nowhere. And I do say evil. GGYstans that claim he's not is nothing but cope. They draw him explicitly being evil for the sake of it, and abusing and manipulating others. Actions speak louder than words. And these actions shattered my fucking eardrums. This concept also spits in the face of everything built up about Vanessa, even more then what the game did. We get so much insight, and so much stress of the mind from the many hints that built up her relationship with Glitchtrap before Security breach, only to be thrown to the side and retcon a completely new character into her role out of nowhere in an overrated theory, and this shit is a "good concept" apparently.

2) This glorified theory has no bases in the games, period. Gregory's character can easily be described from the games as a scrappy innocent kid who's homelessness has molded him into being distrustful of others. He is being chased by Vanessa because she is secretly a child killer and doesn't trust her because of it. This is why he stutters his name to freddy, and No, its not definitive proof of his supposed "amnesia" (we get to that later), that line is so vague you can describe any meaning to it, and because of that, the most likely meaning is the simplest one supported by the game. He simply didn't trust Freddy at first. His actions throughout the game was never malicious in the slightest. It was self defense against beings after his life. They are killer robots after an innocent kid, nothing more, nothing less.

3) Alright, this is where the rant truly begins. The one thing I truly hate about ggy is how out of nowhere this would fucking be. It's an actual insult how none of the game ever makes an effort to actually include this. Gregory being possessed is never mentioned once, never alluded too, and acts surprised against shit he should have already known about if he was possessed. In other words, not only does this spit in the face of Gregory's established character, the game makes no effort to make it an actual plot point ever. If the game doesn't wanna make it a plot point, then why should I even like it in the first place? There's no narrative value to Gregory killing his parents, and the game never mentions it, and the book never mentions it. So if the games have no use for this, actively ruins my favorite character, and makes no effort into proving it ever happened, then why should I like or believe this again?

And this brings me to my other point. GGY never happened. I want you to point me to the evidence that Gregory is patient 46 that hacked the pizzaplex, and killed a bunch of people, killed his parents, and somwhow turns homeless, is in cahoots with vanessa, then freed, and then somehow forgets everything. Go on, I dare you, and no, Gregory acting as if he doesn't know this doesn't count, you are using a plothole to debunk the same plothole. I want evidence that he somehow did all that in the games without a noncanon book explaination. Oh wait! You can't, cause the game never alludes to it, and doesn't make it an important narrative plot point? No shit.

Any artist I follow for Gregory shit eventually falls into this ggy slop. Every single goddamn nigga acts like it's undeniably canon and that I'm stupid for denying it. Do you know how insulting that is? I bet not.

You can not even begin to fathom the anger of having to constantly sort out the worst dumb ggy garbage everytime I look up Gregory, and I still get ggy post that slip past my filters. Every. Fucking. Time.

I looked up Gregory on another site and half the new art now is obviously possessed Gregory/GGY abusing Cassie, and now with idiot commenters gassing it up at how "cool it is" and (yet again) how "obviously true it is."

You can never begin to fathom my anger. Imagine having you most favorite thing and obvious interpretation get turned over and replaced with something worse. Imagine having your beliefs be ostracized, downplayed, and discarded.

Everytime I voice my opinion I get shmucks trying to argue with me at how I'm wrong, or misinterpreting it. While they impose their unproven headcanon as fact, and write me off as some biased hater.

I'm not. My interpretation is the most basic obvious one you get by playing the fucking game normally, but somehow being possessed before the games makes more sense then It never happening.

And if you read thru all that to just call me a hater and write off my issues and problems, then you are the exact reason why I made my last post. Which I'm not retracting either, I fully stand by what said. I despise GGY, and I hate the act of others liking it. to be fair, he said "WAS a villain", so my guess is that Gregory did some really bad stuff in the past but has moved on from it. then again, we don't know how much it affects the current events of the story.

so I'm personally going to take this as us being in the same position. we all know Gregory is morally grey because of the animatronics + the possibility that he dropped cassie, that's no secret. but also ggy would make him not as innocent as the games show him lol. ggy/dr rabbit would still be a huge reveal in the games since it hasnt been shown and only implied in a book. I think we're safe

if Gregory WERE to have been just evil on his own, it would contradict with the cutout of him comforting cassie and when he cried over Freddy and hugged him and when he saved vanessa. so my thinking is that in that scenario he would be like Thomas from the maze runner. he would have been bad voluntarily and then gotten memory loss that wiped his brain and then become good voluntarily. not a bad character per se but I dont think it's right for Gregory. him being glitchtrapped explains and makes sense for literally every part of his story so I think that's still the case :)

like in Freddy in space Gregory was a boss that threw discs at you, so like. clear patient 46 reference there, but my point would be that hes framed as a villain like vanny is, and vanny wasnt even truly a villain because everyone knew she was secretly unwilling/mind controlled. that's changed now since the killer rabbit alter egos are now separate entities from people like vanessa, but my point still stands

All right, as much as I’d like to be hyped for Ruin, I’m gonna go ahead and post some negative predictions. Think of this as a worst case scenario.

(1) This is a stretch but here it is: Ruin has been canceled and/or postponed to next year. This explains the lack of news.

(2) If we do get Ruin soon, the gameplay’ll be the exact same as SB but with darker atmospheres/no animatronic assistant. No puzzles/cool additions to shake up stuff. No fascinating lore bits. Just absolute rage and desolation.

(3) Speaking of lore, get ready for more questions than answers. Which means no Afton backstory lore like I’ve predicted/theorized.

(4) Vanny will get screen-time, but not much story relevance. Same goes for Burntrap + Blob/Glitchtrap. Main concern will most likely be Gregory hacking the remnants of the animatronics due to being under Glitch’s control for most of the game— Including Freddy.

(5) The “Greg is bait/being controlled by Glitch again” twist will be revealed by the very end of the game, the Ruin Girl becomes SB’s “New Susie” after the twist reveal, and it’s the only way this story ends. No way to save the others. No way to stop the inevitable cycle. No extra story/alternate endings to get if you try to resist Glitchtrap’s orders/get collectibles a la FNAF World.

(6) Glamrock Bonnie’s backstory will remain unexplained. Although I’m personally thinking he was the first to be hijacked by Glitchtrap so Monty had to pull self-defense atm, I’m pretty sure this will be debunked and left open ended otherwise.

(7) Sun&Moon are either not going to be in here or they’ll get very little screentime. Same goes with DJ Music Man.

(8) Somehow, Eleanor gets a game-verse debut. And we will have no way to fight her.

(9) I’ll repeat this again: There will be no way to save Vanny this time. No Princess Quest retries, since the systems will be most likely be burned up in-verse. Same goes with William Afton, if anyone was looking for a miraculous redemption arc with him before he goes down in flames one more time. Either he’s officially Glitchtrap and he’s lost all his humanity, he’s too far gone in some other way, or UCN’s claimed him as its prisoner and Glitchtrap’s just a heartless copy.

(10) If we do get a boss fight with Blob + Burntrap, it’ll be a weird mix of the DJ Music Man fight and the original Burntrap fight. And with no banter/monologuing to lighten the tense and furious mood you’d most likely be in.

(11) Any pre-‘83 lore will not be dropped as well, as Ruin Girl will be too focused/forced to focus on finding Gregory to actually take advantage of her situation and figure out stuff. This means that we will be left in the dark about what happened in FNAF 4 (and before) yet again.

(12) GregBot is confirmed, but is not connected to Crying Child. Or he is, but not in a less lore-complicated way. Thankfully, GGY might’ve debunked this point. Maybe.

There’s plenty more I’m sure I can come up with, but here’s the TL;DR: It’s gonna be lore-lacking/absolutely baffling in the worst way. It’s gonna cause people to ragequit and possibly even leave/never join the fanbase. And we’re gonna see the cycle of Afton’s hysteria all over again, starting with a new “Susie” and “Evan” as a catalyst with no way to stop what’s coming— Maybe even on a much grander scale.

But hopefully none of this goes down. I’m just dragging my expectations to rock bottom just in case.
