Gacha Game!MC AU

So! In the world of TWST, an interesting mobile game seems to have taken everyone, particularly young men and women around the age of NRC students - and even some adults - by storm!

It's the usual gacha-game type of deal! Banners are released, or chances to roll some characters may rise or fall depending on the date - and players have to roll for them. But the strangest thing is... You're/MC is one of the characters?!

The type of game can be determined in asks since its not entirely set in stone (y'all get freedom with it) - so if its the usual dating sim set in a workplace or school, something like genshin where you gather powerful characters to explore an open world, or food fantasy where you build a team to work through levels... It's all up to you!

Who might you/MC be?

You could be an ultra-rare character! Super powerful and well known even by people who don't know much about the game (like how I know that there's a guy name xiao or something in genshin despite never ending up too invested in the game)

You could be a less front-and-center member of the cast, perhaps like the food fantasy characters who have skills specifically for running the in-game restaurant part of the game. (and you could be their oshi just because your personality and design just made their serotonin levels spike)

It could even be something like twisted wonderland itself! Where you're starred in multiple banners with different outfits for various occasions, and the players can learn more about you through the stories they provide with each card!

What may happen because of this?

There's a bunch of fun things to consider with this AU! From being a character's Oshi, to being seen as an amazing cosplayer, to even having a scenario where fans collide (imagine meeting your Oshi... But you're their oshi too! That sort of deal!)

Then there's your likes/dislikes potentially being shown on a profile page in the game, and something happening like Adeuce trying to get onto your good side with gifts and trinkets...

It even has some yandere potential...

Deuce Spade and Gatcha Game!Reader

Deuce had picked up playing the game a while before he stared on his path of turning a new leaf - still easily found in his signature jacket emblazoned with the spade patterning running amok around the streets of his hometown. It was a small thing at first, and something he kept under wraps. It's easy to be singled out for the smallest of things among his peers then, so even small things like enjoying a game had to be kept under wraps...

The game itself was something he found enjoyable enough on its own - something small and sweet where you rolled characters and learned more about them in their own little stories while progressing through a larger, separate one (not unlike twisted wonderland!)

And he always found himself saving his rolls and currencies for you...

You were always the one to encourage the player character to be their best self, to make the best choices, to improve in the direction they wanted to, and reassure them when they stumbled off course. Be it if you were bold and brave, shy and sweet, or anything else at all - your smile and the gleam in your eyes each time your hand reached out to the screen made his heart soar as if he were yearning for something. Be it friendship or love, he wished so fiercely to be by your side where mistakes may be fixed and the ground wasn't a minefield covered with eggshells threatening him with the possibility of being shunned from the circles he found himself stuck in...

You were one of the two most important factors that pushed him to finally set his sights forward and work towards newer, better goals in life. To step away from his delinquent ways.

Like the wish to meet an old friend for the first time, he hoped he would be able to meet you that night before he was pulled away by the moving swathes of heartslabyul students following their new dorm leader through the doorway to their dorm.

He kept that hope in his heart as he went.

And he did meet you! Stumbling on his words and forcing himself not to stare to avoid making tings awkward, but he met you nonetheless!

And then he broke a chandelier...

And then you had to fight a jiant monster that almost killed you guys...

But you did it in the end! And things continued like normal, if not with Deuce being more anxious than ever to avoid making you dislike him... After all, he's been so inspired by you for so long and...

After his fight with the other students over the eggs... When he told you about his mother and the game and you... And how everything led to you inspiring him to better himself... Instead of the ire he was so scared of being met by, he looked up to see your familiar, gentle smile and felt like everything was going to be alright. Just like he always did when he saw you.

That was the moment he knew he had found his soulmate - platonic, romantic, he didn't care. His soul pulled him to you through different worlds and as you stood as a shining star that fuelled his desire to be better and grow as a person, he could only accept your outstretched hand and hope that he may offer you something worth almost as much in return...
