Chaynenzo predictions for ep 19-20
I put my tin hat on and I am ready to clown:
The drama loves it’s parallels soo much that many scenes get almost word for word re-constructed, but shown in a different way and often with a different outcome. CY asking to come with V in episode 4 after their team up to go after Choi’s thugs and Mr. Nam interrupts them and the second time where they are interrupted (also Mr. Nam, going on his second blind date) when CY is flustered and later asks V to go for drinks to “beter work together”. The finger flick scenes were very similar, though at different points in their partner/romantic relationship, just as the oucomes vere wastly different: Vincenzo got to take his time, smile fondly and barely touched Cha Young and played it off as „I missed” whereas Cha Young took her time, was caught gazing bewitchedly at his pretty face and almost gave him a concusion in an abort mission moment.
Just now, in episode 18 we got a reconstruction of the last scene of episode 1, a group of thugs invades Geumga Plaza, instead of Mr. Hong present and defending the tenants (in this case Mi Ri) we get a mention about him (!) and Cha Young steps in as defendant. The thug gets physical with her and suddenly, before she is actually hit a wild Vincenzo appears, makes the thug back up and when he tries again (where in the scene in ep1 it were two people, Geumga-dong Nutria most notably) gets defenstrated, this time without the measure tape or V’s willingness to spare the man.
We already know we will get a scene on the balcony/walkway from picures taken by people who caught the crew filming, which will reflect the scene from episode 2/3 at the party where the conversation about love without reason happens. Now, we know from the person who took the picture something spoilery happens then though they did not share what. As all Chayenzo Clowns I would hope for a kiss, but considering that it will be happening almost directly after V magics a return from the plane, there are soo many plots still to cover with the legal case in court at the very front, I think it might be a hug instead and we will be getting a small reflection montage with their early scenes being reconstructed.
The other scene we know will happen is in front of CY’s house (and maybe inside?) where she will wear an oversized dress shirt; as much as I’d love for it to be one of Vinny’s, I think it might be just as likely to be one of her fathers – gathering strenght before the trial itself maybe? And I guess that scene would be something along the lines of the one where V calls her stupid in Italian and CY wears that gorgeous wraped pantsuit with the open back. What will hapen there? No idea, maybe the confession in Italian, as we have predicted before.
Other notable scenes:
CY coming over to her father to inform about the plans for the Plaza being sped up, while Vinny is there to eat after a hangover: I think if anything this scene and the one I mentioned above, in front of the house, will be somehow connected – Vinny over for dinner?
V telling CY to reconcile with her father “regret is the most painful thing in life” : I don’t think they will make this conversation in the same setting, but I feel that phrase will be inserted somewhere into the confession/kiss or in the build up to it; unless they talk about their parents
The finger flick ver. 1: in the special report the scene was voiced over by the actor playing Mr. Nam and mentioned this scene as the begining of their romance line – and I agree. The scene where CY is given the umberella V requested for her is the first time we hear an instrumental of Is This Love, but I think, that, as she is more focused on her father then and has had a rocky start with V, this is more of a flattered/touched emotional saturation and not the begining of her being attracted to him like that. The finger flick, however, is when they’ve had worked together for a couple of days, they are amicable, friendly and have been somewhat their true selves around each other without the hostility fom the begining. And my feel is that there might be another bet, not necessarly finger flick, but it will end in a kiss. The OST released yesterday but not played in the episode (hello??????) is pretty upbeat and happy, so it will not be a completly heavy scene, there has to be lightness in it.
We are being smacked in the face with the balloon ride, which means Cha Young will get her ride with Vinny but I think it will be a date, not an escape. Vinny is probably already planning it. What wife wants, wife gets.
Wife also wanted to slap Prosecutor Jang and Vinny promissed him to kill him when he has everything he wanted: will he get everything he wanted? Dunno, with Babel going down spectacularly, but the Wife will get to slap him, watch Vinny move Heaven and Earth to make it happen. So we might see that.
No idea what other scenes that might be shown as paralells again, I only focused on those from the beginig, as those were featured in the most recent episode.
+ Bonus: the Cat Who’s Full is very accurate:
Picky over food
Picky over people
Very particular about physical touch
Sometimes claws and bites gunshots are signs of affection
Likes birds
Is often very cute and derps some
Brings his favourite human kills (birds mice enemies) or leaves them alive for the human to learn and play too
Conclusion: Vinny is a cat CONFIRMED

The Pawn shop couple's baby ("theory")
I might be unto something (but probably I am not, do not worry)
So, you might all remember that amidst all the pain that episode 16 brought to us, we also learned that the pawn shop couple is having a baby!!!!!
(Also take a minute -or some hours- to appreciate the Geumga Plaza family, they are too precious)
And while almost crying from the wholesomeness of it all, an idea came running to my head: Nonethless, isn't it a bit weird to bring in such a subplot at this moment in the series? I mean we have only 4 episodes left and things are purposefully only getting darker in order to culminate to the "big 3rd act showndown" at this point. Certainly this a set up to the characters 'epilogue' in this story, but why a baby of all things?
But then it hit me - and please do bare with me on this one, I believe it to be worth the while. (And please also excuse my atrocious writing, I've (truly) never written anything of sorts before)
There is a ceiling full of adhesive glow-in-the-dark stars.
A baby is heard crying just beneath it, and the pawn shop couple comes rushing into the room (of course the loudness of the tenants throwing a party would eventually wake the baby up).
Meanwhile, a figure lurks unnoticed just behind them. Well, a very small one at least.
- "Yu-chan! You nearly gave your father a heart attack!"
The kid just giggles. Mr Nam appears right at this moment, running to catch the boy at their feet.
The couple gives him a pointy look.
- "It's not my fault I couldn't hold him down, your kid has freakishly heavy hands for a 3-year-old." he rants exasperated.
The baby cries again, and Yu-chan, as eloquently as a child of his age can manage, asks:
-"Is there something wrong with Gyeongja?"
- "No my darling, she was probably just alarmed by the noise." his mother answers softly, patting his head.
- "Or she wants her parents." Mr Ahn interferes.
- "Since when are you here?" Chul-wook exclaims, having his second fright of the minute.
-"Stealth is my middle name."
-"You don't have a middle name. None of us do."
-"It is called a figure of speech."
-"A what?" Chul-wook asks, genuinely confused.
His wife snorts at his high-pitched voice and picks Gyeongja up, musing quietly about the fact that for all the genes that she has, the child is actually surprisingly calm (it must be perhaps all that opera her father puts her through on the daily).
- "Shouldn't her parents already be here anyway?" Mr Nam asks over her shoulder, clearly fed up with the talk of the other two.
- "Let them be late, it is the first time they get some time all for themselves since this little cutie was born anyway".
An uproar is heard from the kitchen, and Yeo-jin is able to pick out Cha-young's delighted laughter between it all.
At the corner of her eye, she catches a flash of her son running out of the room and towards the noise, Chul-wook at his heels.
Yeo-jin can't help but giggle, and the baby in her arms beams back at her.
"Mr and Mrs. Corn salad sure are popular, huh."
And you can tell me, 'you are overthinking this', because, well fair.
But if you do tell me that the writers would not set up a little point just to surprise us, even if only for a punch-line, may I remind you all of:
#so I actually didn't want to talk about it because I do not want to jinx it#but I was also thinking of the possibility of any fic writers wanting to you know *wink* *wink*#i mean elaborate it#and also I saw the instagram story of the show's creator talking about how the finale wilm be surprising#and I was like yeah not a big fan of that ngl but think with me what if the finale is something cute like this thing#y'know#anyways i will stop my rant#thanks for coming to my ted talk and if you are reading till here for coming through with my terrible writing#vincenzo#chayenzo#vincenzo x cha young#geumga plaza#inzhagi

Il male è grande e vasto
Oh, Vincenzo. What am I gonna do now that you’re done? Ugh I love this show so so SO much. Somehow it’s now in my top 3 dramas.
Honestly I wanna kiss the director and her cinematographer on the mouth cus this show was one of the most beautifully shot shows I’ve ever seen. The camera angles, the negative space, the sometimes blurred/dream-like quality of certain scenes, the upside down/sideways shots, the way some shots lingered to evoke a feeling, the shots with the character’s reflection mirrored back, the way it added to the storyline but was never distracting. UGH it’s was so beautiful I wanna cry.
Next I’m gonna hug the music director/sound editor because that OST was next level. The way they carried certain themes throughout the show and wove it into the story and the music was never distracting or out of place (like some shows...ahem sisyphus) and it always informed the audience of the mood that was about to be set. I’m so glad the OST finally dropped so I can listen to the amazing score over and over as I try to finish this fic I started weeks ago.
Of course I can’t say enough great things about the writer. They really gave us the slowest slow burn that made you die to have it but felt so great once you got it. ofc I will still be reading all the post-show fics where Cha Young wraps up things in SK and goes to Vincenzo’s private Maltese island to be his rightful mafia queen. I’m excited to see the room he set up for her...aka his/their room. Yes, I would’ve gladly taken a second season without hesitation, but the writer really wrapped everyone’s stories up so well I can’t complain at all.
The villains all got the deaths they deserved and I’m SO glad they were truly brutal and bloody because anything less would’ve been ooc for Vincenzo. Props to the writer for not shying away from this. Yes Vincenzo’s found a family with Cha Young and the Geumga Plaza tenants but he’s still a villain and the main hitman in the mafia. If he’d just given them quick deaths it would’ve fallen flat. I think this is always why I’m fine with Cha Young not being present at the end to have the final blow. Yes, she gives him permission to kill and she has accepted who he is, but I think even for her, these deaths would’ve been way too gruesome for her to handle. I’m sure they talked about it before so she knew the jist of what he had planned, but she didn’t need to be there. She is and always will be his mafia wife but she doesn’t need to be the one pushing the button for a giant spike to be impaling her enemy. I think the knowledge that Vincenzo gave them painful deaths was enough for her.
Lastly I just wanna say how much I LOVED how all the side characters were utilized so well. I think the only other show where I felt so satisfied about the side character’s arcs was Run On. Literally everyone in the Cassano Geumga Mafia Family have a purpose and special skills, no matter how ridiculous it was. Also special shout out to my queen and wife, 💖Hong Cha Young 💖! I love that she stayed (adorably) annoying and petty to the end. Her last scene in court, clearing Vincenzo’s mum’s name, was just *chef’s kiss*. The way she strutted out in her sunnies and was antagonizing the other woman who was charged, I couldn’t stop laughing. I love dis perfect bish. She’s truly my favourite drama character because she’s not perfect or innocent. She’s not a “good” person and she was a villain in her own way, but she was just so beautifully written and tbh morally grey female characters are my favourite. She has a good heart but she’d done some horrible things as a lawyer and with Vincenzo. I loved that scene when she explained why she approved of his methods because traditional law and justice is not enough for people like Han Seo and Myung hee. Anyway, I wish nothing but the best for Cha Young in her next chapter as mafia queen to the Cassano family ^___^
I’m so sad to say goodbye to this show and my favourite Mafia Corn Salad T______T It was a wild, but great ride. ❤️

“but to me, Vincenzo Cassano will not be remembered just as a memory.”
A Cencha AU! that narrates what Hong Cha Young’s life had been after Vincenzo departed from Korea leaving no trace of him behind.
For some stupid reason, I deleted my first blog and now i am reposting this full-length cencha AU back on the tumblr timeline!
******
After Vincenzo left Seoul to god knows where, everyone, most especially Ms. Hong, felt how empty their days have been.
Her shoulder injury eventually healed with time but unfortunately, it is as if nothing could mend the pain Vincenzo left. If only Babel could’ve created a more humane pain killer, then it could’ve been her saving grace during this time.
Sometimes she would snicker alone behind her work table whenever she gets reminded of the silly things about Vincenzo but Mr. Nam would sometimes catch her gloomy frowns as she stares at the empty table on her left. Without her partner in crime, it seems like the small Jipuragi Law Firm has become too spacious for two people to share.
Cha young wasn’t really alone. Geumga Plaza tenants whom she considered as a family has always been there for her and she could say that somehow, they have been good at making up for the longing she has for Vincenzo and her Dad. After all, as long as Jipuragi Law Firm still stands, the two men she’ll ever love in this life will always be with her.
Geumga Plaza tenants always had consistent get-togethers and Cha Young always found herself attending every time for the past few months. She’ll do everything just to keep herself away from being alone as it always reminded her of longing.
She works until her eyelids fall down on their own and wakes up the next morning still on her work clothes. It was like this for three consecutive months until she found a local vineyard on her way back to Seoul from a conference in Gyeongsang.
At first, it was just a curious visit to a small, cheap local vineyard. But then she finds herself coming back. One of the owners, an old lady, seems to notice her frequent visits and asked her if she wanted to buy a row of grapevines and produce her very own wine out of them so that her every trip won’t go to waste as she often visits. She looked around noticing that some of the grapevine rows actually have names on them. “You can name yours too,” the old lady sweetly said as she meticulously examines the branches of the grapevines delicately.
“I would love to. But I still don’t know what to name mine.”
“No worries. We can just hang up a sign that this row’s already taken. But be sure to name your grapevines, sweetheart. They love being called by their names whenever we tend to them. Because of it, they produce the sweetest wines.”
Cha Young could only just nod. Feeling bad about how her grapevines don’t have a name. But before the old lady could turn her back from her, she mumbled “Vincenzo.”
“Vincenzo Cassano. I’d like to name them that.” The old lady looked back at Cha Young with a sweet smile. “Be sure to always come back and visit Vincenzo like you always do.”
And so she did. Every week, she would never miss a single visit to the vineyard. Sometimes she would grab a coffee with Mrs. Lee, the owner, and just talk about life. The vineyard had become her safe place and a breather for the sadness.
Mr. Nam finds it particularly weird how Cha Young would always plot vineyard schedules on her work schedule but he doesn’t ask away as he seems contented upon every every wine bottle she gives him every week to which he shared with Mr. Ahn whenever he gets to drop by.
The vineyard was enough to get Cha Young to go through the drastic change in her life after Vincenzo left without a trace until one day she received a snail mail.
It doesn’t even have an address or a name and she finds it oddly peculiar how a snail mail got one her desk this early in the morning when Mr. Nam hasn’t even arrived yet.
“Is it another death threat?” she thought as she has been receiving several of it on her span emails after she had won cases upon cases vs. injustice.
Her curiosity only led her to eventually open the envelope containing a postcard of a sole island in the middle of a beautiful, blue sea. Familiar handwriting was inked at the back of the material and right then she knew who sent this postcard. No wonder she received it the most unexplainable way.
With this, she finally knew he’s doing well and that he was somewhere safe but even though she was greeted by such a piece of lovely news, she just could not keep her tears from falling.
If only he was with her, he could’ve wiped her tears away. But to her, the postcard was enough for her to smile through it. They were like the tears she shed when finally she had granted her father’s death justice. They were tears of relief upon months of wondering how Vincenzo is, where he is, or if he already had his dinner. She finally got a piece of an answer now.
After the first postcard, a second one arrived the next month and Mr. Nam happened to find it slipped through the door gap of the law firm. Cha Young found him sitting gloomily at the conference table as he sips his heartful espresso.
“It’s him, right?” Mr. Nam asks Cha Young to which she just silently nodded. “I see that you also received one.” she forced a smile in hopes to brighten up the mood. “Where the heck can that jerk be hiding? Ever Mr. Ahn couldn’t trace him.”
“Maybe he’s living the best of his life in a tropical island in the middle if the Mediterranian Sea. I mean, who knows?” she jokingly exclaimed as she propped her belonging atop her desk.
“What’s important is he’s alive and well.” she continued. Mr. Nam finally smiled as he stood up and clipped the postcard he received at the law firm’s memory wall. Cha Young followed to clip the postcard she received last month too.
“I miss him,” she breathed.
Cha Young had mastered the art of bottling up her sincerest feeling as she knows that showing this vulnerable side of hers wouldn’t do her any good. But she oftentimes wonders if doing this actually saves her from the pain because if it does, she shouldn’t have regretted anything when she lost her Dad nor when Vincenzo left.
Cha Young could’ve said something to make him stay. She could’ve. But she can’t bring herself to fo so. Their worlds were placed differently in the first place and she thought that having their distant world collide during an unprecedented time sure is more than enough for her. Making him stay is cruel and selfish. But her hopes of bringing their worlds closer once again still sits somewhere in the corner of her heart.
Thinking about it, she sniffles a little as she stares at the postcards sent by Vincenzo. Mr. Nam could only let her be. It is not as if his longing for Vincenzo is equal to what Hong Cha Young was feeling as that couldn’t amount to any form of longing he could feel for a lad that he also considered a brother. It wouldn’t make sense if he told her that he understood how she felt as Cha Young’s longing for Vincenzo is equivalent to losing a part of herself. That is what Mr. Nam had realized all this time.
But maybe one day, Mr. Nam thought to himself, Vincenzo would find himself back to Cha Young’s life just like hoy Gyeonu and Jiknyeo find their way back to each other during Chilseok. On an island near Malta, 9,467 km away from Seoul, Vincenzo hopes to do the same.
Ms. Hong. I never make promises unless it’s for business purposes. But I promise you this; I will come back.”
*******
I hope you guys enjoyed this CenCha AU! I honestly don’t know how to end it or if I even want to end it but there you are!! This is just one of the many more CenCha AUs I have in mind. <3 Tune in for more!~

Vincenzo is amusedly looking at Chayoung who’s floundering around the room happy, joyful, glowing, and very drunk.
She’s flitting about like a social butterfly with the characteristics of a teddy bear as she’s enveloping Geumga Plaza tenants in hugs. She showers similar affection on the Jipuragi members - Mr. Nam awkwardly hugs her back, while Vincenzo pats her hair fondly rolling his eyes. Chayoung has a impressive tolerance so she’s drunken quite a bit to reach this stage. She’s twirling around the room like a wobbly ballerina with the energy of a kid in the candy store. He can’t stifle any more laughter directed at her, and the alcohol has caused him to loosen up a bit as well, the full-bellied laughter emerging from his stomach.
He’s watching curiously as Chayoung drunkenly tries to climb a table - almost giving up several times in vain till she somehow manages to get on. She’s standing there with a flushed grin on her face, as she tries to bang two metal spoons together and gain attention. Is she trying to make a toast? What possible announcement could she have?
He walks over to her partially to convince her to get down safe and sound and partially to find out what exact announcement does she plan on making.
“Chayoung-ah, do you want to maybe get off the table? I’m afraid you’ll fall off. What announcement do you have, anyway?” He asks, placating her, and curling his body around her to help her down.
“No! I have an announcement to make,” she tells him, before straightening up.
“Listen up, everyone! I have a very important announcement to make!” She’s grinning toothily from ear to ear, and he may have a slight idea where her announcement is going.
Softly, he whispers to her, “Sweetie. Darling. Love of my life. You are very drunk. Please get down.”
She leans down to press a finger against his lips and shush him. “No, Vincenzo. The people need to know - we can’t hide it from them any longer.”
“What’s the announcement, noona?” Hanseo asks, his eyes lighting up at the prospect of news and possible gossip.
“Vincenzo Cassano and I are officially dating! I get to have sex with this wonderful, handsome Italian Mafia Cornsalad everyday!” She cheers, and smushes his cheeks, pinching them as if he were a small child.
Everyone looks at them with barely concealed amusement, and he can feel the blood rising to his cheeks. Oh God, she’s going to face the Spanish Armada of questioning of tomorrow. And so is he, for that matter.
Mr. Nam, from somewhere in the crowd, shouts out, “We know Ms. Hong! You’ve been dating for 3 years!”
And, then they all return to their previous order of business, chatting about and drinking. Chayoung goes through a whole phase of emotions - surprise, shock, sadness, grief, betrayal.
She looks down at him accusingly, with tears in her eyes, “Why didn’t you tell me?” She demands.
He’s tempted to face palm himself, but chooses to help Chayoung down first and hug her tightly to calm her down.
“Tesoro mio, you were the one who asked me out. Told me we’re dating. Wanted us to and subsequently persuaded me to move in.”
“Oh.”
Imagine Your OTP #229
