🌺 BOOKSTAGRAM TOUR + REVIEW 🌺 Q: If a stranded stranger knocked on your door while home alone during a tropical storm, would you let them in?? I'm thrilled today to be hosting a spot on the @letstalkbookspromo #bookstagramtour for SOMEONE ELSE'S LIFE by Lyn Liao Butler! This thriller releases Feb 1 from @amazonpublishing , but you can get it now as one of the KIndle First choices for January! This thriller takes place in Hawaii and, outside of some flashbacks, all during one intensely stormy day on Kauai. I'd call this a domestic thriller, and it's a bit of a slow burn, although that didn't keep me from frantically clicking the pages. Our MC, Annie, is definitely naive, and there were a series of bad decisions being made, which was a topic of much discussion in our tour chat group! It's kind of like watching a horror movie and yelling at the character, "Nooo, don't go in there!" 😂 But at the same time, you feel so sympathetic to Annie for what she's been going through, you can't help but cut her some slack. I admit I did figure out what was happening well before it was revealed, but at the same time, as we also discussed in our chat, if the author ever wrote a sequel, I'd absolutely pick it up because of the way it ended! Also, I have to mention (1) how gorgeous this cover is 😍 and (2) how incredibly hungry this book will make you! I loved all the discussions of culture and food, which was all sort of a nice bonus to the thriller plot. This is a great "popcorn thriller" that's perfect for folks who aren't sure they like thrillers or are new to the genre--and also perfect for curling up and reading on a stormy or gloomy day! 5 Years ago, I started this Blogging adventure, And my love for @davidbellnovels books was strong. When I first started my Blog, his books had their very own section. Back when I was a baby Bookstagrammer and had no idea what I was doing @getredprbooks reached out to me and asked if I would review one of David's books. It was my "I might just make it in the Bookstagram World " moment. I got to review my favorite Author. Now 4 years down the road, Lori is still sending me David Bells Books, and he still ranks amongst my favorite.
