I was outside yesterday in the woods starting to pull garlic mustard, and I thought of this shot when I pulled dandelions. We were out on a farm west of Minneapolis setting up outdoor rooms for an #editorial. Dandelions are really good and garlic mustard is really bad for our natural environment. Now, some would argue that both are invasive, but when I pull garlic mustard, lots of other natural things grow in its place like jack-in-the-pulpit and false nettle. // I love being outside and the woods surrounding our home are very healing for me. I often spend hours there digging around to clear the land of buckthorn as well. It's another invasive plant that can grow to the size of trees. It blocks everything else out and creates its own forest filled with thorns and scrubby trees and bushes. // Clearing the land. Clearing the decks. Clearing the studio for what's next.
