34 Days

34 is a small yet large number. 34 days until I take the 12 hour drive to North Carolina and set up shop aka my life. Every night in post grade life (just learning PGL is a thing) which has been 6 nights my parents and I always get on the topic of NC. 

I can’t stress enough how important it is to be open and honest with not only yourself but your family. It’s just me my mom and my dad... the 3 amigos as I sometimes refer to us. My nana used to live with us but she passed away a little over two years ago.. actually closer to 3 ( mind blowing). 

Anyway (sorry I ramble)

My parents and I are probably the best of friends. I tell my mom everything (well I still have the parent/child line) but If you’ve hurt me, she knows about it, if I had feelings for you (she knows about it), if you pissed me off (she knows about it). My mom is a female version of a Buddah, always giving fabulous advice and better yet listening. Sure she has her faults but don’t we all. 

My parents have supported me since DAY 1, they were practically pushing me out the door when I said I wanted to move because they know that I need out of this town. 

34 days left in Canton, Ma. 34 freaking days left to do nothing except pack, clean and go to the gym. I drive around this town in disgust and I’m not sure how I got to this point. Canton isn’t some awful town, but it’s just washed up. It was wonderful while I grew up but everything changes and this town is no exception. It has become something old and dated. I see people I went to high school with who graduated college and are now back in Canton working at the local pizza joint or the local CVS... it’s just a small prison that I refuse to get trapped in.
