Guess who just watched Jesus Christ Superstar?
This dumbass :D
And guess what else
I was thinking about Crowley and Aziraphale
Soooooo new headcanon. Neither of them like the musical, they both think it’s good but they just don’t like it
Crowley doesn’t really like it because he knew JC and cries whenever he hears Gethsemane and sees the crucifixion.
Aziraphale doesn’t really like it because he is reminded of JC as well, and his importance at being able to do something while it was all happening
But most importantly, they don’t like it, because it reminds them of each other
Aziraphale aches at listening to Judas’ Death, it kills him inside, he knows the lyrics by heart and sobs quietly whenever he hears them. He sees Crowley in Judas, sees him wanting to help but how he’s punished for daring to ask, he sees how it’s Judas himself who continues punishing himself, and is reminded of how Crowley still wonders if what he did truly was so awful
Crowley breaks during Gethsamane yes because he knew JC and remembers him not even questioning what was going to happen to him, and tears up at the realisation that JC probably had that struggle for as long as he lived, but what gets him to genuinely cry, is hearing the lyrics and seeing Aziraphale’s ideologies and thoughts being reflected, and how none of his prayers nor questions have even been answered
Neither of them ever speak of how it affects them or why, neither ever mention it whenever it’s showing in the West End, it’s an unspoken rule, one that neither realise the other has.
They both have the LP though, and use it whenever the other hurts them, it reminds them the other is human, and that they make mistakes, it reminds them to be kind, and to love them no matter what.

“Why Jesus Christ is the God of our painful Gethsemane” By Diana's Diaries:
“May I be willing, Lord, to bear Daily my cross for Thee; Even Thy cup of grief to share, Thou hast borne all for me. Lest I forget Gethsemane, Lead me to Calvary”
“This wonderful hymn penned down by Jennie E. Hussey has been my childhood favorite song. I am someone who tends to forget the Gethsemane that my Christ endured because I get caught up in my own heartaches.
Gethsemane literally means “the garden of oil press”, it was a place that was located on the Mount of Olives. Jesus often visited this place to PRAY with His disciples.
In olden times, the olive trees were beaten to have the olives fall to the ground. Then they were crushed in a stone basin until all the liquids came out and it became a red paste.
Our Christ was beaten and crushed by His own creation. The weight of our sins wore Him down, and He was crushed for our transgressions.
“But He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him, And by His scourging we are healed.” —Isaiah 53:5 (NASB)
“At the place called Gethsemane, Jesus wept and prayed ‘ O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from ME; Nevertheless, not as I will, but as you will.” —Matthew 26:39.
Let us remember that there was no conflict between the Persons of the Godhead, it is a revelation of Christ in His humanity.
My hands tremble as I write these words because I know I was the reason He was crushed and broken. Jesus foresaw how he was going to be crushed like the olives for the sake of his beloved creation.
“When he had finished praying, Jesus left with his disciples and crossed the Kidron Valley. On the other side there was a garden, and he and his disciples went into it. Now Judas, who betrayed him, knew the place, because Jesus had often met there with his disciples.” —John 18:1-2 (NIV)
Even his disciple, Judas knew the exact place where Jesus would be found.
—-Do we have a place of prayer where even the Devil fears to come nigh?
—-Have we strengthened and covered ourselves in prayer at the time of our trials and deep sorrows?
We have our painful gethsemanes in this world, the times when we feel crushed in our spirits by our very own, by the trials and wounds that never seem to go away.
Our gethsemanes are where we find zero strength to even pray because our heart is groaning deep, but Praise God, He prays for us.
It could be the temptation or an illness we go through as an individual, the brutal behavior of a family member, the betrayal of a friend, the emptiness and loneliness we experience in this world. The lack of empathy from those we thought were our near ones is so painful. Let me remind you, dear friend, Jesus who walked before you in HIS GETHSAMANE knows all about your gethsemanes.
Can you picture Christ wiping your tears in your season today? He is right there with you and I today.
Jesus Christ is the God over our gethsemanes because He experienced it Himself first. He is not the God who sat on the Heavenly throne and expected us to suffer on this Earth alone.”
[There is much more to this Web Article, including prayers. Please read the rest here.] Amen! 🙏🕊️🙌

Teens Xcite 2015.07.18
Overloaded
As teens, we have a lot of expectations and difficulties that we will face in our lives. If you have life, you have problems. Family, friends, relationships, money and more.
The question is not whether or not you have problems in your life, because you do. However, the question is whether we can overcome the problems that we face or not.
Some of us face problems, but we don't run to the right solution. Some of them run to the wrong solution and that makes them hurt more.
The solution to your problem is not to run away, or cut yourself, or to numb yourself. The solution for your problems is to give hem to Jesus Christ because He wants to take it away from you so that you can be free.
As teens, we have problems thatare true and real, and some of us are deeply hurt by them.
John 16:33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”
Sometimes the problem still exist and they don't disappear instantly. Sometimes the problem or issues, lies within us.
The truth for us here is that: When we allow God to change us, everything changes in our lives.
The first time when Jesus shed blood, and he did all the way to Calvary.
Luke 22:42-44 Jesus saying, “Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.” Then an angel appeared to Him from heaven, strengthening Him. And being in agony, He prayed more earnestly. Then His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground.
The two truths: 1) Decide now to do the will of God. Jesus was at a crossroad when He was at the garden of Gethsamane. That was the last chance for Jesus to say "no" to dying on the cross. That was why He had prayed such a prayer to the Father in Heaven.
Jesus was also flesh and blood. He had to have this battle in His will because every flesh that was in Him struggled for self preservation.
Medically, when a human goes through so much stress amd dehydration, it is possible to bleed from the pores.
This showed how much stress that Jesus was being placed in.
As Jesus said that He would do the will of he Father, Jesus was therefore able to give to us victory, when we choose to do the will of God.
Don't try to deny the problem. Problems do not go away when you deny it. A moral issue will not go away, if you just ignore it.
Through the blood of Jesus, we do not remain as victims, but we can become victors.
Romans 8:37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
"Difficulties are overcome when our hearts are ready to do God's will, whatever it may be." - George Muller.
We need to repent of our wrongdoings. Some of these problems come about and overwhelm us because of our wrongdoings. If this is so, then the application is to do what is correct, and that is to repent of your wrongdoings.
Rely on God. There are many problems that come about due to circumstances and/or other's sins against us. Then, rely on God and do not run away from the problems.
Jesus does not cause your problems to disappear. However, He helps you overcome your problems by giving you strength to overcome.
2) Determine your destiny now. God's will can be fulfilled in your life and He wants you to be an overcomer. He doesn't want to just address the problem in your life but He wants to work in you so that He may be glorified.
When Jesus said yes to God, after the cross was settled, Jesus overcame death so that God's destiny could be fulfilled for Him.
Every trial and testing that you go through can be a testimony for God, to glorify Him.
Choose to visualise the will of God. All of us without Jesus, we are lost. However, when Jesus comes into our lives, He gives us the power and the will to overcome and to do the will of God.

Watch and Pray: The Admonition for 2022
Watch and Pray: The Admonition for 2022
Jesus, facing the greatest spiritual and physical battle of his life, taught us some great truths in the Garden of Gethsemane that should be our goal as we face the challenges of 2022. His words are a precious reminder that no matter how big or dark the challenges ahead of us might seem, we can take action to remain faithful to Him and His Word and refuse to be shaken or dismayed. Matthew…

Gethsemane
I declared my evil thoughts as facts;  sprayed holy water on my drafts,  tried to cleanse thoughts so unclean,  Will the lord save me from the unseen?   I’ve been outnumbered by vessels that breed sin,  led a parade of temptations to stop the fight within.  I’ve watched envy throw in the towel for greed,  given shame no excuses to delve into my needs.
I’ve met with souls of legion that belonged to offshore swines,  dined in lecherous rooms of women with beauty, serpentine.  I’ve crossed lines leading to places with Calvary in the rear,  freed my self-loathe from a salvation I didn’t have to bear.
I’ve deprived myself of the saving flames of Pentecost,  invited doubt as a shroud my mind could finally host.  I have strayed and aided in being led astray,
mostly to desires myopically far away,
with a clouded mind and a vague vision;    en route to a more rewarding mission,  paralleling the path of righteousness, as i avoided the quick detours to Gomorrah.
I traveled through the extremely hot climate, only to stop at the gates of misdirected faith.
Welcome
-M.J

I know I've said I don't like Gethsamane, and I stand by the opinions that its pacing is wonky and doesn't give the emotional journey time to breathe, but I'm listening to it now and for the first time I'm processing it as the burnout anthem it is, and suddenly it's working for me.

Okay... this is something I think about and come up with ideas for a lot and I thought I should finally make a post about it....
A SONG OF ICE AND FIRE THE MUSICAL!
Disclaimer: I’ve brought together various songs from existing musicals to tell the story Asoiaf, including some pre-series stuff. Obvs some of this doesn’t translate literally, some of the songs I chose more for the vibe rather than specifically relevant lyrics, and some are pretty much just jokes.
Now enjoy!
- The mistresses of Aegon IV- “Ex-[Mistresses]” and “[Nine]” from Six.
- Aerys- “Johanna” from Sweeney Todd (obvs played very creepily).
- Elia @ Rhaegar- “No Way” from Six.
- Robert and Ned during the rebellion- “You and Me (But Mostly Me)” from The Book of Mormon. With Robert as elder price and Ned as elder Cunningham of course.
- Stannis- “Stars” from Les Miserables because he’s got Javert vibes.
- Lysa being made to marry Jon A- “I Don’t Need Your Love” from Six.
- Baby innocent optimistic Tyrion before Tywin fucked him up- “Naughty” from Matilda.
- Also baby Tyrion- “Quiet” from Matilda.
- Tysha- “Wouldn’t It Be Loverly” from My Fair Lady.
- Tyrion and Tysha during their elopement- “A Million Dreams” from The Greatest Showman (or for a modern au, “Wishing for the Normal” from Soho Cinders).
- Tysha after the elopement- “I Dreamed A Dream” from Les Miserables
- Stannis @ baby Renly- “Turn It Off” from The Book of Mormon
- Ramsay @ Roose after murdering Domeric- “One More Angel in Heaven” from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat.
- Catelyn- “How Do You Solve A Problem Like [Arya]” from The Sound of Music.
- Jaime and Cersei after Jaime throws Bran out of the tower- “Our Love Is God” from Heathers.
- Sansa when she finds out about the betrothal to Joffrey- “I can hear the bells” from Hairspray.
- Joff and Sansa- “[Eleven Going On Twelve]” from The Sound of Music.
- Cat saying goodbye to Bran- (parts of) “Heart of Stone” from Six.
- Bran during his coma- “Wake Me Up When September Ends” from American Idiot.
- Bran at the end of his coma dream- “Defying Gravity” from Wicked (he probably also reprises this when he learns to warg into birds)
- Arya and Syrio’s “dancing” lessons- “I’ll Make A Man Out Of You” from Mulan.
- Petyr @ Catelyn- “I’m Not Saying A Word” from Blood Brothers.
- Petyr @ Sansa- “Hello, Little Girl” from Into The Woods.
- Sansa about Sandor- “Angel of Music” from The Phantom of the Opera.
- Lord Commander Mormont @ Jon- “One Last Hope” from Hercules.
- Tyrion every time he’s in a jail cell- “Close Every Door To Me” from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat.
- Cersei after Robert’s death- “Get Down” from Six.
- Theon and Robb- “That Guy” from Blood Brothers.
- The northern lords @ Robb in the King in the North scene- “Take Things Into Our Own Hands” from Treason and “Once We Were Kings” from Billy Elliot.
- Joffrey when he finds out about northern independence- “You’ll Be Back” from Hamilton.
- Loras and Brienne about Renly- “Blind Faith” from Treason. Though this also works for Davos and Melisandre about Stannis...
- Stannis @ shireen- “Where You Are” from Moana.
- Bran, Rickon and the Walders- “Kids’ Game” from Blood Brothers.
- Bran @ Jojen in ACOK- “Song of the King” from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat.
- About Sam after he killed the Other- “Zero To Hero” from Hercules.
- Theon during ACOK- ”Go The Distance” from Hercules, “My Shot” from Hamilton, and “Damned for All Time” from Jesus Christ Superstar.
- @ Sansa in King’s Landing- “School Song” from Matilda.
- The people of King’s Landing during ACOK- “At The End Of The Day” from Les Miserables and “Food, Glorious Food” from Oliver!
- Sansa and Sandor during the Battle of Blackwater- “Music Of The Night” from The Phantom of the Opera.
- Margaery’s arrival in King’s Landing- “New Girl In Town” from Hairspray.
- Jaime (not really sure when)- “Wait For It” from Hamilton.
- Devan telling Davos about his brothers dying- “[Four] More Angels In Heaven,” from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, a really heartbreaking parody of Ramsay’s song earlier, made 100% times sadder because four people are dead not one and... devan is actually genuinely sad instead of faking.
- About Davos as Hand- “Stone the Crows” from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat.
- Ensemble @ Jon, Dany, Robb and Bran- “Everything’s Alright” from Jesus Christ Superstar.
- Ygritte @ Jon- “Colours Of the Wind” from Pocahontas.
- The Astapori, Yunkaii’i and Meereenese slaves- “Look Down” from Les Miserables.
- Jaime and Brienne- “I Can Do Without You” from Calamity Jane.
- Cat as Lady Stoneheart- “Heart of Stone” from Six. Again.
- Purple Wedding- “The Day [Joffrey] Died” from Treason.
- Shae @ Tyrion- “Mein Herr” from Cabaret.
- Tyrion and Tywin- “Your Obedient Servant” from Hamilton. I know this doesn’t really reflect their story but there are just bits like “here’s an itemised list of thirty years of disagreements” “sweet Jesus” and “you call me immoral, a dangerous disgrace” and them both signing their names “T. Lann” which fit well.
-Varys and his little birds- “Be Back Soon” from Oliver!
- The Lannisters at some point- “Roar” from & Juliet and also “Be Prepared” from The Lion King. And for a modern au “Candy Store” from Heathers.
- Tommen in AFOC- “I Just Can’t Wait To Be King [In My Own Right]” from The Lion King.
- Asha, Arianne and Aegon- “Don’t Rain On My Parade” from Funny Girl.
- Genna- “Big, Blonde and Beautiful” from Hairspray.
- Sansa- “I Know Things Now” from Into The Woods.
- Melisandre during her POV chapter- “I Believe” from The Book Of Mormon.
- Tyrion in ADWD- “Til I Hear You Sing” from Love Never Dies.
- Penny- “Little People” from Les Miserables.
- Shireen in Castle Back- “Giants In The Sky” from Into The Woods.
- Shireen, Devan and Edric at some point- “Revolting Children” from Matilda, because even though it doesn’t really fit it would be epic.
- Sam in Oldtown- “Non-Stop” from Hamilton. Okay this doesn’t fit perfectly but he’s important and deserves songs.
- Sansa at some point- “All You Wanna Do” from Six.
- The “killed their spouse/lover crew” aka Tyrion, Cersei, Jaime, Petyr, Lysa and Victarion- “Cell Block Tango” from Chicago.
- Jon about Dany in ADOS- “Heaven On Their Minds” from Jesus Christ Superstar.
- Dany and Jon in ADOS- the confrontation bit in “The Last Supper” from Jesus Christ Superstar.
- Dany in ADOS- “Gethsamane” from Jesus Christ Superstar.

The Gospel According to John
Tumblr media
Author: This gospel is written by Jesus’ beloved disciple John. He is the son of Zebedee and Shalomi who appears to have been the sister of Mary the mother of Jesus. He is known as the beloved disciple due to his kind and loving nature. But he was also a very brave,  strong, energetic and enthusiastic person. He was a disciple of ‘John the Baptist’ before he became Jesus’ disciple. John was present at the moment when Jesus raised Jairus’s daughter from the dead, at the transfiguration and the ‘Garden of Gethsamane ’.
John kept Jerusalem as his home city for a long time and looked after Mary after the death of Jesus. He later moved on to Ephesus and this became his home city. It is believed that John lived more than a 100 years.
To Whom It is Written: This was written to the church.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Date: It was written in 97 A.D. The Synoptic gospels were written prior to this.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Theme: The theme of the gospel is to proclaim the Divinity of Jesus Christ. The story of Lazarus shows both the humanity and the divinity of Jesus.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Key Verse:  “ But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.”      (John 20:31) KJV
I know that my Redeemer lives. What comfort this sweet sentence gives! He lives, he lives, who once was dead. He lives, my ever-living Head. He lives to bless me with his love. He lives to plead for me above. He lives my hungry soul to feed. He lives to bless in time of need. He lives to grant me rich supply. He lives to guide me with his eye. He lives to comfort me when faint. He lives to hear my soul's complaint. He lives to silence all my fears. He lives to wipe away my tears. He lives to calm my troubled heart. He lives all blessings to impart. He lives, my kind, wise heav'nly Friend. He lives and loves me to the end. He lives, and while he lives, I'll sing. He lives, my Prophet, Priest, and King. He lives and grants me daily breath. He lives, and I shall conquer death. He lives my mansion to prepare. He lives to bring me safely there. He lives! All glory to his name! He lives, my Savior, still the same. Oh, sweet the joy this sentence gives: "I know that my Redeemer lives!" He lives! All glory to his name! He lives, my Savior, still the same.
