god, but this little moment is so cute to me. I really like it when heroes use their powers in small ways to make their partner more comfortable. And this example is actually pretty unique and specific, it makes me smile.

If only their date didn't get interrupted by (admittedly very cool!) aliens! It's good fanfic potential at least, it's one of my many WIPs in fact...

I actually really like the Ultimate FF God War issues a lot, overall. The overarching plot felt like it had actual stakes, and the four acted really well as a team, but in a way that was distinct from their 616 counterparts; you could tell they were younger and inexperienced, commanding much less authority. There were some very fun action sequences, too. Oh, look, here's one that appeals specifically to me:

I love Pasqual Ferry's art of the four so much, the colouring really gives it a pleasantly soft look. I wish that team could've illustrated more Ultimate FF issues... I have the collected volumes of this story, and I can say that this is definitely the kind of art that looks even better in physical print.

Anyway, wasn't really planning on writing a full on review or anything, I was just looking up a reference for a fanfic and got sidetracked, haha. I was a little sad to find this was generally viewed as one of the weaker issues. I think the Ultimate FF run would've been pretty solid if they kept something consistent like this, with an emphasis on the team's youth and inexperience.

i was trying to find something twilight mirage and specifically signet related but i keep just reading bits of transcripts and going man tm was so fucking good huh

anyways i found it and i thought of…. the crypt of the order from signets playbook. now. in retrospect im actually fairly sure it just came to mind because sylvi earlier in the ep mentioned the roman saints as a reference for coris new mech + the divine fleet connection i made (it's the murals. in my head that's just. it has Got to be related.) = crypt of dead excerpts & their things (the scene I'm talking about in TM18 is honestly one that makes me really sad about signet. man. signet).
