Evaluation of CVL
*note the final conclusion submitted had an error with the links with text box on the digital PDF, but think is the final conclusion in the real like book:*
Overall I'm happy with the outcome of the project. I'm pleased with the topic I chose and I believe its a good solution to the problem I addressed in my learning agreement.
I believe the media of my solution is a good response to a piece of emerging technology which has lots of potential issues, and I think an accessibility feature like this solves one of those problems. I'm happy to have some web design examples/experience for my portfolio.
I think I made good use to theory such as Gestalt Theory in order to build schemas in the mind of the user by using principles of proximity and grouping.
I also believe that my outcome made good use of social learning theory to solve issues addressed in my learning agreement. For example, I used observational learning which according to social learning theory, individuals learn by observing others. In this context , users who are emotionally impaired can observe and learn from other users' facial expressions and body language captured by the VR system. By analysing this data using machine learning and AI, my solution provides insights to emotionally impaired users, helping them understand and interpret emotions more effectively. These skills can also transfer over to real life, creating a potentially halo/ripple effect.
I also made use of social learning theories idea of 'modelling behaviour'. My solution allows emotionally impaired users to learn from the models and adapt their own expressions and behaviours accordingly, thereby improving their emotional experience in VR.
In terms of my use of theories and frameworks which inspired my final outcomes, I made use of cognitive load theory to create my website. (Cognitive Load Theory explores how the cognitive load placed on users during learning affects their ability to process information and perform tasks effectively). I utilised this by having a very simple website which could be entirely navigated through with just scrolling and no clicking to different tabs were required. I also broke down my information on the site into 'chunk information' which helped my website feel more like a journey.
Additionally, i made use of 'visual aids' such as my interactive diagram which helps users to form that connecting between emotion and colour. My interactive experience helps convey information more effectively and reduce cognitive load. Visual representations of emotions or data can provide users with a quicker understanding of the content without relying solely on textual information.
Time management was arguably my main weakness this time, more specifically where I chose focus my time. I think along the process I should have created more responses and prototyped more Ideas so I had more imagery and experimentation to work with, but it was challenging balancing the research project along side CVL.
I'm glad I learnt new tools such as Readymag. Drag and drop design tools nave a lot or potential for the future of web design so I think its important I exploring these medias.
I also like the experimentation with my process book. I learnt a lot this term which will be very useful for level 6. I will continue to grow my understanding of a grid and learn some more fundamentals of editorial design to avoid making mistakes such as having small gutters. I think increasing the amount of columns I use in my grid will also improve the general layout of my future process books.
Going forward, I want to explore more into generative design and creative coding, so over summer I'm following Tim Rodenbrokers course on Processing and p5.js to improve my understanding of java and hopefully bring me up to a standard where I can explore these ideas and concepts in my final year.

How to Become a Graphic Designer
Graphic designers create visuals, often using text and images, to convey ideas. They use their skills to create logos, websites, posters and advertisements. They also work on other types of media, such as books and television shows.
The first step in creating a design is to understand the client’s goals and objectives. This may include finding out what the client wants their brand to stand for, how it will be perceived by consumers and the type of message they want to communicate. This information will help the designer to come up with design solutions that are relevant and effective.
Next, the designer will begin to sketch out ideas that they feel may meet the brief. This can be done in a variety of ways, including free-hand drawing and tracing over existing designs. Then, the designer will present their ideas to the client, who can choose their favorite ones or request modifications.
Creating a design involves understanding the principles of composition, color theory and other fundamentals. The designer will need to make decisions about how to arrange design elements, such as text and illustrations, in a way that is easy to read and understand by the audience. Check the linked here for more details!
Balance, alignment and proximity are all design concepts that can help to improve the visual quality of a design. They are a great way to keep a design from feeling too busy and overwhelming. Make sure to check out this website at http://graphicdesign.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Web_design for more details about web designs.
In addition, they can help to establish a consistent look and feel for the design. For example, if you are designing a banner for an event, it is important to ensure that all the elements are aligned and arranged in a way that is visually cohesive and pleasing to the viewer.
These design principles are based on gestalt psychology, which states that audiences understand and remember information more effectively when it is presented as a whole rather than separately. Organizing design elements into interesting shapes and patterns can help to achieve this goal.
Choosing the right colors for your design can be tricky, but it is a skill that should be learned and perfected over time. It is important to consider the mood and emotion you want to convey as well as how each color will best be used to communicate that message.
It is also a good idea to take classes that can help you better understand these design principles. Whether you are looking for a basic introduction to the basics of design or more advanced topics like character or product design, there are many online courses that can help you build your portfolio and expand your skillset.
A graphic designer will need to stay on top of new trends in the industry, so it is essential for them to remain up-to-date on what’s currently popular and effective. These changes can be hard to keep up with, but there are a number of resources that can help you stay informed, such as blogs and forums.
Graphic design can be an exciting and rewarding career for those who are willing to take on challenging tasks. It is also an excellent career for those who are constantly learning about new techniques and trends in the design field. See full article here!

So at the end of sixth grade our teacher used the soak time for projects! which were not specifically related to the new districtwide trend around portfolios and projects and rubrics but I'm sure were not independent of that gestalt
And of course mine was ambitiously like a HyperCard stack? No, HyperStudio, where Apple realized the PowerPoint-equivalent could become interactive with a scripting language!
Which was overambitious in concept, also I insisted on putting a ton of weird conceptual flow and in-jokes in this project no one would ever see because of course I did, and I was getting REALLY STRESSED about whether I'd have enough time to finish and I didn't
And it was literally two days after I had graduated elementary school and I'd been coming back in (the school was just next to my development) to finish polishing this meaningless enrichment assignment I said "wait, what?"
And that's what anxiety is like

Gestalt Animal, May 2018
For a project that required a Gestalt design of an animal, in which negative spaces say as much as positive spaces do, I chose the camel as a subject. For the first two sketches, I considered working the word camel into the design with the addition of its face and an imitation of Arabic calligraphy. For the last design, I simplified my above designs and incorporated more Middle Eastern and desert elements into the body of the camel, such as a palm tree, the Muslim crescent, pyramids, mosque roofs, more Arabic calligraphy imitations and a dune.

Why am i so lazy? j_j you are not lazy, you're just irrational & cyclothymic~ oh, ok, i can work with it...
This babbling below is boring as fuck, do not read it :-)
So it's the last day of november, and cause i want my archive to content more than one november post, i'll deliver a bunch of stuff today x). I have been into some new fandoms recently, so it all will be about it.
But i want to meditate about my Inktober as well. First of all i'm really happy and proud i've done it at all! Not finishing works is my worst sin, not only in art and drawing sphere, soo yeah, i did it!1 Now i have some 'portfolio' thing to look at aaand it not that bad objectively. I mean it is so-so but now i have something to start with, look at my work in common, see if maybe i even have my own style (omg o.o could i?), aand maybe it looks about like i wanted it to be :-? Some new and good feeling~~ Still have a lot to do and a pile of shitty art twice as big as i already presented...
The second thing is - omg i'm sooo oldfag with all these ancient fandoms fanart -___- All i can say - i'm sorry :c i'll continue to do so though, because i still have that 'gestalt' thing about some fandoms i ever been into and had bad drawing skills. I'm not very agile person when it comes to new fandom... There are somewhat 20 of them i am into (almost all of them are manga, which ended few years ago), and i do not willingly track new pieces (sounds like i'm 70 years old -_-). And i do not even like anime that much (manga forever!11). But when i find something i really like, it usually supposed to be 'forever and ever' relationship. So yeah, that's it. (more Homestuck and Naruto and Bleach and DGM and Sailor Moon and maybe even some Pokemons :-?)
Third thing is... It should be about me doing just fanart and not original things, but omg i'll better stop here. Already have a lot of words here...
Sorry for my english, it's not my native language. But i'm sooo enjoing to practice it here~~
Thank you everyone who follow me ~ I'm happy somebody is interested in what i am doing here and hope you'll not be disappointed with it in future :-)

Ouroboros
(Illustration by Nikolai Ostertag comes from the PathfinderWiki and is © Paizo Publishing.)
The ouroboros, the snake eating its own tail, is a common ancient symbol , appearing in Egyptian, Greek, Norse, Gnostic, Vedic, and South American texts and carvings...which is interesting, because there aren’t actually a lot of stories about it (compared to say, dragons or giants or even sphinxes). Instead, the ouroboros’s value seems to be almost entirely as a symbol—for life and death, consumption and renewal, light and dark, the circle of samsara, and so forth.
Given what a well-established symbol the ouroboros is, the first question about it was always going to be: When would someone turn the ouroboros into a Pathfinder monster? And the second question was: How would someone turn the ouroboros into a Pathfinder monster? (A serpent constantly eating its own tail is great from a visual perspective, but it’s going to have trouble making a bite attack.)
But if it’s a snake made of thousands of snakes…on the Astral Plane…constantly devouring and regenerating itself…with blood that’s can raise the dead or baleful polymorph you into a swarm of snakes…and it’s CR 21 for good measure…now that’s a Pathfinder monster.
I also dig the video game-ness (or 4th Ed D&D-ness) of its Self-Consumption (Su) ability—that if you damage it down to half its hit points, it stops eating its own tail, which both makes it more vulnerable, but also unlocks some of its special abilities (and makes it pissed, presumably). I don’t need every monster to get special abilities for being bloodied, but it is a nice perk for certain significant baddies. It also works thematically. One of the exceptions to my “There are no stories about these things” gloss above is the Norse World Serpent, Jörmungandr, who could be considered a kind of ouroboros. One of the climactic acts of Ragnarök is Jörmungandr releasing his tail from his mouth and surfacing to fight the gods. There’s no reason fighting an ouroboros at your game table can’t be just as epic.
Adventurers discover a divine secret: the goddess of death and the goddess of birth are one and the same. In her gestalt form, the Splintered Queen dwells in a palace ringed not by a moat, but by an ouroboros that both symbolizes her twin portfolios and makes a singularly unforgiving guardian.
Planar travel through the nested Tiers of the Celestine Stairs is difficult. Even a successful casting of the gate spell opens the archmage’s mind to maddening influences from beyond the Tiers. (An unsuccessful casting may result in disintegration, polymorphing into a gibbering mouther, the calling of a shoggoth, or worse.) But a few rifts connect the Tiers, the most famous being the Ouroboros Gate—a living ouroboros whose ravenous coils can be traversed to reach the vast expanse of the Astral Tier.
With the awakening of the serpent god Sardsorius, the serpentfolk race, long thought extinct, has erupted from the bowels of the earth. Worse yet, their shamans are poised to succeed in a quest that has eluded them for millennia: piercing the veil hiding Refuge, the last lost retreat of the elves. Embattled on all sides, the elves risk everything to resurrect their mythic hero king, Kin-Yalyn—including tasking a rogue band of adventurers to acquire the ouroboros blood the ritual demands.
—Pathfinder Bestiary 6 206–207
Hey! Remember me?
I think I first read about the ouroboros in the Xanth books…which means I just admitted to reading the Xanth books. (Leave me alone, this was middle school.) The use of an ouroboros as a moat monster is a direct homage to one of these novels (The Source of Magic, I think). While we’re at it, any elves vs. serpentfolk scenario I write probably owes a debt to Ghostwalk.
Wouldn’t it have been nice if I’d posted this entry last April, when my article on resurrection was coming out in Pathfinder Adventurer Path? Yeeeeeah, that would have been smart.

28, 41, 50 for the Fanfic Writer asks :)
28) What is something you wished you’d known before you started posting fanfiction?
That “post” button on ao3? It’s not as scary as you think it is. Just press the button. And that anxiety you feel after you press it, when it’s radio silent and you’re wondering if anyone will even bother reading it? Stop right there. Somewhere out there, a stranger is reading something you’ve made yourself! Words that came out of YOU! They’re uniquely assembled, one of a kind, and you should feel proud, even if you think it’s not up to par to your own standards– because you made that from nothing and you put life into it. STOP BEING A WORRYWART!! (impromptu letter to past self and for anyone who needs it)
41) What’s your favourite minor character you’ve written?
Hmmmm, Steorra! I adore all of her–design, skillset, and the personality I’ve given her. She’s wormed her way into my heart :’D
50) If you could write only angst, fluff or smut for the rest of your writing life, which would it be and why?
Angst!!!!!!! I am. Good at angst. I know this HAHAH,,, I write this on a daily basis for my school portfolio because I’m a creative nonfiction writer and life just be like that sometimes (also my favorite games are nier gestalt/automata… which says a lot about my tastes;;;)
Thank you for the ask!!
