💡 for Asgore
💡 for Gerson
💡 for Sans
send me "💡" and i’ll tell you a something about my muse that I had considered, but ended up not using for their story
Below the cut! TW for some serious stuff.
Asgore - This is technically more of a 'I haven't expressed it' moreso than 'ended up not using', but I really feel like I haven't captured a few aspects of Asgore yet.
Like, let's just get a huge one out of the way. Can we talk about that Asgore is suicidal? He absolutely knows what he did in Undertale is this awful, unforgiveable thing, and that he caught himself in a situation that he didn't have the guts to change. He can't bring his wife back to him, he can't bring his kids back to life, and he's lost all hope (and despite that, EVEN WHEN HOLDING BACK AND LITERALLY NOT LOOKING AT YOU THE WHOLE FIGHT, manages to be the toughest non-special fight in the game). And in the end, during a subsequent run that doesn't result in a special ending where you spare him, he realizes that trying to force something special with the player is pointless: they shouldn't be trapped in the Underground. He kills himself for it with a smile, genuinely believing it's for the best. He's so guilt-ridden over it. Can we point out how this can happen, and then Toriel takes claim over the throne if she's alive (and the player wasn't an asshole)? Imagine if Toriel KNEW what Asgore did then. Anyways, I'll also point out how it's pretty obvious that Asgore thinks Toriel is dead, too. I mean, dude breaks down into bawling tears just seeing a Christmas movie. I think he's just so tired of loss and living forever: he's seriously just a shove away from losing it.
Also, I feel like I don't express enough how he's aware of other timelines, like Sans. (Not aware throughout all the differences, or whatnot, since that's *never* been a thing in-game except for beings like Flowey.)
Tumblr media
Gerson - I've absolutely scrapped through ideas of kids, wife, etc., nothing really felt right. He definently has a history, though, and I'm sure he'll tell you if you ask! Even before Deltarune, I know I went into HCs about him potentially being religious/anti-religious. I think I also had headcanons about him being a blacksmith, but, not too sure of that anymore.
Sans - A lot of things with Gaster. I think I'm still feeling it out or might go with what intrigues me.

Note
Been musing on this, but I'm taking for granted that Gaster is akin to GodTM (personhood is on a metaphysical level, all-powerful & all-knowing, primarily referred not by name but by capitalized He, associated with creation, love/compassion, and authority). But most importantly, since I'm raised catholic, the utmost certainty that we will nver talk to him directly, and instead have all our messages redirected to his array of 'Saints' keeping tract of all this earthly BS. Part One
Part Two. 'Saints' being Gerson, Dess, Asriel, DEVICE_FRIEND, Kris, maybe Noelle, probably Ralsei, Seam, the Knight, sans & the Great Papyrus. Part 3. 'How can Gaster be God if he has Devil Motifs?' I said Gaster was all-knowing & all-powerful, not that he was all-good. One of the common arguments against an all-knowing all-powerful all-good God is that if God was all those things, evil wouldn't exist. And well, it wouldn't. So God can't be all-good. Even a kind God who calculated that evil existing was important for a greater good would either be not-all-benevolent or not-all-powerful. Which where Gaster is at.
that last note is interesting for sure. as far as gaster-as-god approaches go, that's a pretty interesting take in how it kind of aligns with other lines of thinking about gaster’s possible gray morality in pursuit of some greater good. like, whether or not gaster is *literally* capital-G God, he’s at least playing at it – and in his approach to godhood, benevolence can be traded for knowledge as necessary. he may ultimately be a figure of compassion, but from his outside perspective that spans a greater scale, “compassion” isn't simply a mundane, moment-to-moment choice to be kind as the choices arrive. it's a big picture thing that could require acts of evil or cruelty that to him are just drops in a bucket. i think that's a really interesting way of framing it and it feels like there's truth to this.

Profiles in Villainy
Cruella de Vil
The deplorably devious Cruella de Vil is an eccentric, fashion-obsessed heiress who has harbored a twisted hatred of dalmatians for much of her life.  Although she finds the dogs themselves to be odious, de Vil sees their coats and the pattern of their fur to be absolutely divine; so much so that they became the muse that inspired her fashion designs.
DeVil’s bent obsession with dalmatians led her to devise a lavish coat made up of the dogs’ fur.  Older dalmatians tended to have more coarse fur, however, and DeVil altered her design so that the coat would be made up the skins of dalmatian puppies... Horrible!  All and all it would require the pelts of one hundred and one dalmatian puppies to compose this unspeakably inhumane coat.
Aided by her incompetent henchmen, Jasper and Horace, DeVil abducted the fifteen puppies bore by the kindly dalmatians, Perdita and Pongo.  She then purchased the eighty-six additional puppies by legitimate means.  The wicked DeVil would have succeeded in killing these 101 innocent pups had she not been foiled by Anita and Roger Radcliffe.
The Radcliffes ended up taking in all one hundred and one of these dogs and are able to care for them with the royalties from a catchy song Roger had composed about the wickedness of Cruella de Vil.  Her reputation irreversibly tarnished, DeVil was forced to abandon her plans for a coat made up of dalmatian fur.
Actress Betty Lou Gerson provided the voice for DeVil in her original appearance in the 1961 Disney animated feature, One Hundred and One Dalmatians.

Fell!muse Raksura Notes
Brief background story summary:
The result of a prominent Fell flight completely overrunning a Raksuran court in an attempt to create a 'new breed' of Fell- stronger, faster, capable of Arbora mentor abilities- that mimics the distant Forerunner race both Raksuran Aeriet and Fell share. Most, if not all Raksura in this court are part Fell to various different degrees.
COURT NAME IDEAS:
Moutain-thorn ___
Strife, Dissonant, Razor, Haven
Main characters:
Eventual Reigning Queen(s):
Bane - Queen / Ruler -ruby red scales with ivory webbing; shorter than average -spines are short, but densely clustered on back of head; mostly covered by frills -has progenitor bone-crest and heavy brow; broke crest -only surviving clutchmate Aleister -red eyes
Aleister - Queen / Progenitor -ivory scales with blood red webbing; got all the tall juice -spines are short & not very dense w/few frills -has ruler bone-crest on head & sharper features -only surviving clutchmate Bane -red eyes
Eventual first Consort(s):
Nerida - Consort -no surviving clutchmates -raksuran shift: black scales with blue undertone, long spines and frills (messy); red eyes -groundling shift: bronze skin, bright red hair that is long and often messy; red eyes -less fell blood than the rest, makes up for it by being FERAL -raised/cared for by bloodline consort before ultimately mercy killing him
Salem - Consort / Kethel -clutchmates: Cal, Agni, Brigid -racksuran shift: black with red undertone scales, the size of a kethel but less bulky, more sleek, and lacks the arching horns -groundling shift: black hair, pale skin, deep red eyes; right eye is a lazy eye -pretends to be more brainwashed/hypnotized than he actually is -only 'friend' in Minerva, clings to her after loss of clutchmates
Head Arbora Mentor:
Angel - Arbora Mentor / Drakti -raksuran shift: dark magenta scales, short messy spines -groundling shift: pale complection, dark brown & messy hair -red-brown eyes, one of which is blind/heavily scarred -arbora parent was direct descendant of an Arbora Forerunner who was the overrun courts head mentor -no surviving clutchmates -very small due to mixed drakti blood -best at dispelling Fell influence from the mind
Important side characters:
Minerva - Arbora Mentor / Drakti -already being 'hollowed out' by The Mother -taught by Carrion in the art of mentor powers -befriended Salem, emotionally manipulates him -eventually killed by the main four
Gerson - Arbora Mentor -oldest living arbora mentor in the overrun court -trained Pyre & Angel in mentor ways -fiercely protective of the fledglings; de-facto head of the nurseries -seen as the leader of the captured/stolen arbora after the head mentors mental breakdown and subsequent death -to tenacious to be killed off for his age
Pyre (Grilby) - Arbora Mentor -pure raksuran arbora, one of the last born in the overrun court -very good at auguring; strong enough to conjure fire -warrior clutchmates and arbora parents end up meals to the drakti
Mitzy / Madame Octa (Muffet) - Consort -pure raksuran consort, one of the last born in the overrun court -no surviving clutchmates (they were all warriors, deemed useless, and culled)
Holly (hand-monster) - Arbora, eventually head Teacher -clutchmates: Ilex (warrior), Gallberry (arbora), Ever (warrior), Tannin (warrior)

Tessa (Shopkeep B) - Arbora, eventually head hallkeeper
Stone (BP) - Arbora, eventually head jeweler
---
When Bane and Aleister kill the Rulers, it triggers a massive uprising in the captured Raksura, led by Nerida. A small subsection of them (the younger Aeriet that are most likely to wing away to safety and whoever they can carry; older arbora that fight stay behind to protect the rest) escape the hive together before the flight can regroup. (The rest are only saved when Aleister is taken back to the hive by Minerva and Salem and plan Behead the Mother occurs.)
---
Named Fell Members: (All killed overtime)
The Mother, Lillith - Progenitor -singlemindedly focused on making/having children & making them 'one with the flight' -caring&gentle to fledglings, calous and cruel the minute they're old enough to fend for themselves/provide for the flight -incapable of understanding her subjects are capable of free will -has Raksuran queen blood in her
Lucifer / His Maleficence - Ruler -Lillith's most devoted ruler -has Raksuran queen blood in him, making him larger than normal -rapes both Aleister and Bane; sire of Aleister's first clutch
Carrion (Gaster) - Arbora Mentor / Drakti -allowed free will to the extent that he can still access his mentor abilities -makes simples (magical science potions) that are used on Raksura (experiments)
---

Veronica hands him a dirty spade they found while scavenging, its' handle bent out of shape. "You can use these for flowers, right?" (for the object meme)
Leave an object in my ask and my muse will react to it being given to them.
Tumblr media
"Of course! I can even use this to plant a few bushes and trees. Thank you, this is very helpful!" Asgore said as he bent down to give them a light pat on the head, as for it being bent out of shape that wasn't an issue! Gerson or Undyne could easily fix it.

NPC Relationships for mobile
All Undertale verses
Note that these are labeled “NPC” (non-playable characters) for a reason; this page exists only if the topic of these characters come up. Relationship dynamics is subject to change if I am RPing with a Gerson or Asgore muse!
Gerson, formerly known as the Hammer of Justice:
Tumblr media
A good-natured elderly monster who’s a veteran of the War of Humans and Monsters, former Captain of the Royal Guard, and Undyne’s childhood idol. He took the spunky young fish monster’s attempts at ‘helping’ him beat up bad guys with humor. In the main verse, he’s more of a kooky uncle to Undyne than a mentor who’s not afraid to put her in check if her antics go too far.
Tagged as #hammer of justice [ gerson ]
King Asgore Dreemurr, King of All Monsters:
Tumblr media
Asgore silently suffers from depression by the loss of his two children, the deadly choice he made that lead to the dissolution of his marriage, and the blood on his hands from murdering humans for their SOULs. But as a young girl, Undyne was swept up by the glorious image of the Monster King becoming a god and freeing his people from their underground prison. After Asgore accepted Undyne as his trainee, he became impressed by the young monster’s strength and persistence. His relationship developed into something of a father figure to the orphaned fish.
In the main verse, Asgore becomes concerned with the increasingly irrational choices Undyne makes. She defies his attempts to help her, thinking it was an affront to her abilities and a sign of his lack of confidence in her. Since then, Undyne alternates between living in Waterfall and Asgore’s castle.

Other muns RPing these OCs are not allowed, unless specifically stated for ask memes. All arts below are made by me. Please don’t steal them.
The Fischer Family:
Both Undyne’s biological parents survive in this AU. They moved to Hometown recently, due to Pop’s job location change.
Tagged as #dad pops drulah and me [ dr student au family ]
Tumblr media
“Pops” (below) is a police officer. He’s spirited, aggressively helpful, and can be seen driving around town in what his daughter calls “the most badass motorcycle EVER!!!” Undyne wants to follow his footsteps in her future career.
Fun fact: that isn’t hair on his head. It’s a flat red fin that flares out when he’s underwater.
“Dad” (above) is an owner of a start-up local hardware store. The most mild-mannered of the family and foil to his husband’s energy... until you bring up his life’s biggest passion: DIY projects and repairs! He prides himself for making all the furniture in his family’s new home.
Fun fact: He befriends Asgore as a fellow business owner.
Tumblr media
Drulah is Undyne’s kid brother. Being born deaf, he has limited speaking abilities and instead uses sign language to express himself. He attends Ms. Toriel’s class with extra assistance. Much to his big sister’s chagrin, he throws a tantrum whenever he feels like he’s being misunderstood or ignored.
Tagged as #spunky little bro [ guest muse drulah ]
Fun fact: the birthmark on his face is similar to what Pops has on one side of his back.

Holidays, Dreemurrs, and Music: a detailed series of headcanons
inspired by undertale (the song), don't forget, and kris canonically playing piano
I. December
december holiday has been playing piano for so long that no one remembers whether it was her idea or her mother's. she's never showed as much passion for it as her mother may have liked - at any given time, she'd almost certainly rather be outside, causing havoc with her friends and her whiffle bat in some corner of town - but she stuck to it, becoming hometown's star musician. and no, she doesn't have any real competition, but she's good. just good enough.
being as dedicated to it as she is lets dess get away with other things. the biggest example was when her grades began to slip; after enough pushing and arguments, her parents resolved that, if she couldn't go to the top traditional university, she would aim to go to a well-respected conservatory instead. her grades just had to be good enough.
the holiday family could afford for their eldest daughter to not be the top student, because noelle could take on that responsibility. even if it meant she'd hardly have time for anything else. certainly not the time to learn an instrument. (this was decided for noelle by the time she finished first grade. )
dess performs on occasion. she plays at church a few times to back a solo from star choir boy asriel. other times, she plays as the background to parties at the family home. sometimes, she plays for the other kids.
the human is always the most enraptured by this, and often eyes the piano when they come over. they've asked at least once if she could teach them how to play, but she always laughs them off. why would she spend twice the time at the piano she had to, teaching some twerp the basics that now bore her to tears?
and so, kris does not end up being the first dreemurr child to learn an instrument.
II. Asriel
at the end of the last class for the year, gerson pulls asriel aside, compliments him on his singing voice, and asks if he's ever considered playing an instrument. his son alvin, gerson muses, once dreamed of being a musician, after his dreams of being an artist and a poet, before his dreams of being a preacher. so gerson got him a guitar, which alvin played for a couple of years before leaving it to collect dust.
he shows it to asriel, and asks, would you like to have this? asriel takes it.
asriel largely ends up teaching himself, though when father alvin learns of this turn of events, he does give the boy some lessons. he treats it as a casual hobby. still, the new skill helps his social status continue to climb. the other teens admire him. some of the parents (jokingly) say he's gonna be a rockstar, a big shot.
he will continue to play guitar into college. he is the guy at the party playing wonderwall.
III. Kris
as asriel begins to get the hang of his new instrument, he tries to get kris interested in it (since they've always shown a fondness for music, and asriel's current plans for the future have defaulted to being a teacher like his mother). they try it out for a little while, but their hands have trouble with the texture of the strings and the positioning for the trickier chords. their failed attempts frustrate them, to the point where, for a while, they can't stand the sound of the instrument at all. they refuse to keep practicing.
asriel brings it up to dess the next time they talk.
a few days later, dess invites kris over. she surprises them by saying she'll be giving them piano lessons. the most explanation she offers them is that, if she can teach them when asriel couldn't, she'll be able to hold it over his head for the rest of his life.
kris goes along with it. after all, no one says no to december holiday.
asriel looks surprised when kris returns and shares what they got up to. but then he sighs and says, "of course.", followed by him excitedly asking his sibling what they've already learned.
(after this lesson, he starts paying dess a small amount for each of them. the first time, she tries to make a show of turning him down that neither of them believes.)
what surprises everyone is how quickly kris learns and improves. they've soon blown past the basics onto decently complex compositions.
their style of play is different from dess. dess plays fast and hits the keys hard, especially once she's gotten into the groove of a piece. it's an outlet for her. her hands move so quickly that it seems impossible. and, in a sense, it is, as she usually makes a small handful of mistakes, but her speed gives listeners hardly any time to notice them. she plays confident, ruthless, and blunt.
kris, by comparison, is quieter and more deliberate. at the start, it takes them a while to repeat back what dess asks her to play, with pauses between each note, but once they've got it down, it's memorized for good. each key is hit with tact and purpose. they can play subtly in a way dess doesn't. and, with enough practice, they even begin to catch up to her in speed.
dess, for all her posturing and her recognition of the kid's willpower, wasn't expecting this. she doesn't take it seriously at first. she pretends to be bitter at their natural talent. then, it feels less like pretending. then, as she's scrambling to keep ahead of them, she sometimes catches herself feeling... she's not sure. not envious; she doesn't care if she's not the best piano player. she hardly even cares about piano anymore.
but she did once. and what she rediscovers, as the weeks pass, is why.
she doesn't tell her parents she's doing these lessons, but they inevitably find out in short time. fortunately, they're both supportive of it.
noelle sometimes sits nearby and does her homework while observing these lessons. she's always admired dess's piano playing, in a way that makes her disinclined to try and learn the instrument for herself. piano is dess's thing, not hers.
but there is a part of her that looks at the two of them on the bench; at a slowly emerging version of dess who's just a touch softer and seems to listen a tad closer; and wishes she could be a part of it.
one day when noelle isn't there, kris arrives early, and hears dess playing something new. it's slower and simpler than anything they've heard her play on her own.
she won't tell kris what it's called when they ask. but, at the end of that lesson or the next, she tells them it's because it's a song she's writing. she swears them to secrecy, emphasizing not to tell noelle in particular. she will share it when it's done. maybe then she'll even teach it to kris.
...
she never does.
...
kris remembers how at least that first part of the song went, from having eavesdropped on dess practicing it. they think it might have had words, but they don't remember those.
kris keeps at it. they look up tutorials and sheet music online to continue their learning. they practice at the church or the hospital instead of the holiday's. they do it for dess, and they do it for themself.
(sometimes, they swear they can hear her playing in the back of their head.)
they keep playing.
...until they can't.
IV. Noelle
the house is so much quieter without dess. without her voice. without her personality. without her music.
asriel checks in on noelle when he can (when he isn't busy worrying about kris, or how things with his parents are suddenly unraveling). he tries to talk to her, to coax her back out of her shell, but he doesn't have the words to describe how even he feels.
one time, he brings over his guitar. he plays a song or two (noelle's choice), then hands it to her and lets her fiddle around with it.
as she tentatively strums, he asks if she ever wanted to learn a musical instrument. she says nothing, but keeps strumming. he asks if she'd like him to teach her guitar.
noelle stops and looks at him. the house is quiet. silent. she nods.
the guitar lessons are held at asriel's house. noelle decides to keep it a secret from her mother, using berdly and catti as cover stories. she does so partly because she expects her mother would see it as a distraction from school (this coming not long after the spelling bee fiasco), but also because a rift has formed between her parents and asriel's since... the incident. she isn't going to risk making things any worse. after some time, she's able to say she's going to the dreemurrs, but to help kris with homework, at the point where asriel starts getting too busy and teenage-d to help kris with it as much.
considering her practice is limited to once a week visits (which eventually become once every other week, then once a month), noelle learns and progresses her skills at a good rate. it becomes a good source of stress relief for her, and even, eventually, pride.
by then, she starts wishing she had a guitar of her own. especially as asriel's graduation, and subsequent departure for college, draw closer.
she asks her mother one night. she initially frames it as if she'd only just recently become interested, but then backpedals to say she's had some lessons with asriel already on her off-time, and he's said she's got a talent for it.
she asks, and her mother says no.
noelle freezes. but then she thinks of dess, and she speaks up. she says it's unfair. music has helped her. it gives her mind something productive to focus on that isn't school. it gives her an outlet.
it lets her feel close to her sister. and if dess got to learn to play piano, why can't-
no, says mrs. holiday. dess started learning early; no amount of "raw talent" noelle might have can make up for her starting later than she, or even kris, did. and guitar, really? you can't play guitar in an orchestra. guitar is for meandering folk songs or crass rock. piano is a more respectable instrument. dess learned world-renowned classical pieces on piano. that is the kind of music holidays play.
(mrs. holiday once played piano. she doesn't have time for that anymore. hasn't since dess was born.)
does she actually say all of this? or does she just say no?
the result is the same.
noelle stops going to lessons.
asriel leaves.
but it turns out that he and rudy talked before that, about noelle. and as a result of that conversation, a week or two later, rudy surprises noelle with something:
a ukelele.
she'll have to relearn the chords, due to the lower number of strings. and the timbre is different. but it's not so different. and compared to a guitar, it's easy to hide.
by the time of the game's events, noelle has learned a few songs on the thing. at least one of which she may or may not use to serenade a certain purple girl, once she works up the courage to.
in time, she'll get the guitar she wanted. as kris will get their own piano or keyboard.
from there?
well. imagine, if you will, a band. with a human on the keys, a purple girl on the drums, and a deer girl on the guitar - an electric guitar, that is. perhaps there's also a bird boy playing premade synth loops, and a goth cat girl on the bass, or vocals, or both. maybe even a (former) prince with pink horns on backing vocals. add or subtract, mix and match, to your pleasure.
imagine too, a song completed, and finally heard by its intended audience, lyrics and all.
imagine a piano and guitar - perhaps, two pianos and two guitars - playing harmonizing melodies as the curtains close and the credits roll.

Note
🤔 for Gerson
In reference to this!))
Tumblr media
Gerson has lived such a long life that many of the things he hadn't understood he now understands. Humans, fiction, laziness, snails... Lots of things he's learned over the years and knows not to be prejudiced against. He's done and seen too many things. He's a historian but knows that in the end a lot of stuff is just junk, too. So there are very few things he doesn't understand.
In the end, a lot of the stuff he "doesn't understand" is purely subjective, like certain foods, or otherwise entirely objectively wrong from every standpoint. And even then, he'd pretty much scoff, probably say some classic old people shtick, laugh, and then never bother you about it again. ...Maybe bug you endlessly if it was really stupid, wahaha! Gerson's probably done and said and experienced a whole cruise ship's worth of stuff. Things of finality and absolution are absolutely what he's torn on. Things like hate he believe will always be around, while things like true love definitely don't exist.

Since today is World's Teacher's Day, here are some musings from a struggling college instructor...
Teaching in today’s classrooms is no easy task, and adding a contentious political climate to the mix creates an extra barrier for school communities to permeate.
It’s not uncommon for teachers to be told they should “keep politics out of the classroom.”
That comment is particularly ironic today when political failures have been the primary reason many of us can’t even be in a classroom because of COVID-19 mismanagement. Education is not neutral, nor is politics. Schools are governed by law and run by administrators. And us teachers' most essential task is to develop our students’ ability to think. By being a teacher, we are influencing our students’ thinking and modifying the way that they process information. We are changing the way that they think, how they internalize words and meaning, and whether they are silently passive or actively engaged. That will then change how they see the world and how they participate in society, and how they see themselves within that society. The heart of an educator’s job is to teach students how to navigate the world around them.
Keeping politics out of the classroom is never an option.
Why? Because ignoring politics teaches students to ignore the real world. Praising silence or complete neutrality teaches students to remain silent and complacent when they are faced with a disagreement. How can we expect students to become innovative critical thinkers or successful communicators if silence is their only means to approach differences and difficulties? Silence and neutrality leave our students ill-prepared to become informed, rational thinkers and effective decision makers.
I'm not arguing that we impose our political beliefs to the students, oh no. What I'm trying to point out is that politics is a huge part of our lives: each of us has our own personal background, biases, and beliefs, I understand that, but to completely disregard politics in teaching is also an utter disregard to our social standing. We are here to let them decide for their own but our vital role is to present them all of the historical and current information we have for them to make a very well informed decision. These students are our future's medical doctors, state leaders, engineers, law makers, among others, and do we want our future to be governed by passive, complacent, and incompetent professionals like what we're having with our current government officials?
I hope our collective answer to that question is a definite "No".
I'm ending this entry with a greeting,
Happy Teacher's Day to all the teachers/tutors/instructors/professors, and everything in between, out there! Your efforts don't go unnoticed! You are loved and appreciated by all by choosing this profession! Thank you for all the time and attention you've given to your students. Rest assured that you're making a huge difference and for that, we are truly grateful!
love always,
Gerson

What items can be found in your muse's pockets? Morgan, Xerxes and Wings c:
-🐙
Morgan: You’ll find their phone, earbuds, their wallet (that has a picture of their family), a little bead charm that Nico made for them (it’s their own version of friendship bracelets), and a flower pin that Calliope got them.
Xerxes: You’ll find... bacon. Or some snack with a lot of protein. Don’t ask about the bacon. You’ll also find his phone (that is severely cracked), his wallet, a locket (which where you open has a picture of him and the skeleton siblings and a picture of him, Undyne, and Gerson), and his badge from the Royal Guard.
Wings: You’ll find his phone, his wallet (with a picture of him and his brothers), some candy, a little black notebook (for writing his plans and ideas), and for some reason a bunch of keys on a key chain.

◎: What is your muse’s most prized mundane possession? Why do they value it so much?
Tumblr media
For Grillby, it's the first record he ever owned--specifically a salvaged copy of Abbey Road that he bought off Gerson. The implications of recorded music, once that became a real Thing, was something that really hit him hard. People just--played this somewhere! And it's inscribed on this disk that I can just listen to whenever I want! It was a little bit like magic, and he never quite forgot the feeling of sitting in his apartment listening to the opening notes of Come Together for the first time.
(His fixation on recorded music partly comes from the nostalgia for the elemental tribe's very extensive musical tradition and the melancholic understanding that they will never have that luxury, that the music he grew up loving will never exist anywhere anymore except for in his own head.)
Tumblr media
Ferno still hangs on to the guitar pick he used during his first gig with his old band, tucked into his right breast pocket. It's just sort of a good luck charm for him--he definitely used to give it a lil kiss before a show. At present, I think he just has a little bit of nostalgia for those days, even if he does view them through rose-tinted glasses.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Flambe has the first purchase order he ever filled for his bakery framed in the kitchen. It was a sign that he'd made it, and all his hard work had been for something.
For Saff it's pretty similar (they really are just kinda my Girlboss Grillbies aren't they???). The deed to his club is framed in his back office. Given how long and how hard he worked raising the funds for the place, working his ass off in the capital and saving every penny, once actually had the place paid for and ready to open, it felt like the first proper exhale he'd been able to take in years.

THE POSITIVE & NEGATIVE; MUN & MUSE - MEME.
FILL OUT & REPOST ♥ This meme definitely favors canons more, but I hope OC’s still can make it somehow work with their own lore, and lil’ fandom of friends & mutuals. Multi-Muses pick the muse you are the most invested in atm. TAGGED BY: Stolen from @battleshell TAGGING: @ladydreemurr @wdvoided @puzzlebones @flametendingbartender, @the-judge-of-bones @witchandateashop, and @bravest
MY MUSE IS:   CANON / oc / au / canon-divergent / fandomless / complicated
Is your character popular in the fandom? YES / NO. [Some would say overly so.]
Is your character considered hot™ in the fandom?  YES / NO / IDK. [ somehow...yes? Apparently?]
Is your character considered strong in the fandom?  YES / NO / IDK. [ Yes. Most players agree that Sans fight is one of the toughest in the game, and the Gaster Blasters do pack a punch.]
Are they underrated?  YES / NO / IDK. [ Underrated? Certainly not. Overrated? Hmm..]
Were they relevant for the main story?  YES / NO [Hot take, but as of now, there are no CANON facts 100% supporting the idea that Sans was tied to main story plot elements. If you took him out, the actual story wouldn’t change much, you would just go straight to Asgore’s fight. ]
Were they relevant for the main character? YES / NO / THEY’RE THE PROTAG. [ Sans is one of the main monsters that the MC interacts with, and acts as the Judge near the end of the game, which reveals a lot of unknown information to the MC.]
Are they widely known in their world? YES / NO. [ The scene in Grillby’s seems to suggest that, at least in Snowdin, Sans is well-known and well-liked.]
How’s their reputation?  GOOD / BAD / NEUTRAL. [ While fellow Grillby customers and a few other Snowdin residents seem to like him, he’s also seen to irritate other characters with his laziness, bad jokes, or shenanigans. Even Undyne admits that she’d fire him, but he always manages to do the bare minimum to avoid it being justified.]
HOW STRICTLY DO YOU FOLLOW CANON?  — I do! Though I also offer my own spin on San’s backstory and my own interpretation of canon hints.
SELL YOUR MUSE! AKA TRY TO LIST EVERYTHING, WHICH MAKES YOUR MUSE INTERESTING IN YOUR OPINION TO MAKE THEM SPICY FOR YOUR MUTUALS.  —  Jokes in the face of nihilism and a juxtaposition to the field of science, Sans is full of contradictions in a fairly entertaining and interesting way. He appears to be incredibly intelligent, but talks and dresses like he’s any ol’ joe. He appears to have symptoms of depression but still acts fairly chummy. He is both one of the hardest fights you’ll apparently face and yet only needs one hit to be defeated. Sans apparently cares for nothing and yet also holds his brother in very high esteem. He appears difficult to get close to, yet he bonded with a stranger over bad jokes and kept a promise to her even though he never even knew her name. Sans can be defined by both what he is and what he appears to be.
NOW THE OPPOSITE, LIST EVERYTHING WHY YOUR MUSE COULD NOT BE SO INTERESTING (EVEN IF YOU MAY NOT AGREE, WHAT DOES THE FANDOM PERHAPS THINK?).  —  Sans is credited with far more than he’s actually due by the fandom. He doesn’t seem to really care for you, the player, like Toriel or other monsters do. He’s not a hero, past or present, like Gerson or Undyne. He doesn’t really help avoid the player getting hurt or captured like Papyrus does. He doesn’t push the plot forward and he doesn’t take action; as a character, Sans is purely reactive, and if he were the Main Character, that would be a huge flaw.
WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO RP YOUR MUSE?  —  I first joined the Tumblr RPC as a Frisk RP Blog, way back in the day, and that was because I stumbled across a Sans RP blog that I found very interesting. This character that I had largely not put too much thought in during the game suddenly had a very complex narrative and I loved reading his dialogue (it didn’t hurt that the mun was clearly a talented writer). Eventually, I realized I wanted to try my hand at writing him too, and so I started my own Sans RP blog.
WHAT KEEPS YOUR INSPIRATION GOING?  —  you guys. The fandom, the artists, the other Sans/Undertale RP blogs, the fanfiction authors— when I start getting bored or stale, you suddenly present this indie game, and by extension Sans, in a new angle that draws me back in. Thank you.
SOME MORE PERSONAL QUESTIONS FOR THE MUN.
Give your mutuals some insight about the way you are in some matters, which could lead them to get more comfortable with you or perhaps not.
Do you think you give your character justice?  YES / NO / I SINCERELY HOPE I DO? [ Some of my old favorites in the Sans RP game, I think, did a bit better job of consistently getting his character right. Still, I hope I give him justice too.]
Do you frequently write headcanons?  YES / NO / SORT OF?
Do you sometimes write drabbles?  YES / NO
Do you think a lot about your Muse during the day? YES / NO [ Often! When I’m actively writing him, anyway.]
Are you confident in your portrayal? YES / NO / SORT OF? [ I am! Like I said, I think there have been others who did it better, but I wouldn’t say my portrayal is bad.]
Are you confident in your writing?  YES / NO. [ Most of the time! Sometimes I get writer's anxiety, and it doesn’t help that Tumblr gets me at my rawest. I have no editor, my posts normally receive just a brief proof-reading, and I’m sometimes experimenting for the first time with a particular genre/scene/style. I wouldn’t point to all of my writing here as my best or strongest work, but I can write solid stuff.]
Are you a sensitive person?  YES / NO. / SORTA. [ I wouldn’t say I’m sensitive in terms of people criticizing me, personally, but I am sensitive to other people. When something bad or unfair happens to someone, I usually feel upset for them. It can get very emotionally exhausting.]
DO YOU ACCEPT CRITICISM WELL ABOUT YOUR PORTRAYAL?  —  I would say so! In general, I’m used to critiques for both writing and art, as I’ve taken courses that incorporated both heavily.
DO YOU LIKE QUESTIONS, WHICH HELP YOU EXPLORE YOUR CHARACTER?  —  Absolutely!
IF SOMEONE DISAGREES TO A HEADCANON OF YOURS, DO YOU WANT TO KNOW WHY?  —  Not necessarily! I’m always interested in hearing different takes, but if someone said, “I don’t agree,” and didn’t follow up with an explanation on their own, I wouldn’t ask for one.
IF SOMEONE DISAGREES WITH YOUR PORTRAYAL, HOW WOULD YOU TAKE IT?  —  Kind of the same as above. I would be interested in hearing why if they offered up why, but otherwise, I’m not really going to ask because they don’t OWE ME an explanation. For example, I like a lot of books, and I don’t like a lot of books, and that’s not really a judge of their quality as much as it is my own personal taste. Number one rule as a writer, you have to learn and accept that your stuff won’t appeal to everyone.
IF SOMEONE REALLY HATES YOUR CHARACTER, HOW DO YOU TAKE IT?  —  I get it, haha. Characters that are hyped up like Sans are easy to get annoyed by. Even if he wasn’t hyped up, though, again, it makes sense that someone wouldn’t like him. Just like a book, a character can’t appeal to everyone.
ARE YOU OKAY WITH PEOPLE POINTING OUT YOUR GRAMMATICAL ERRORS?  —  Please do! It’s embarrassing when I catch them later, hahaha.
DO YOU THINK YOU ARE EASY GOING AS A MUN?   —  I think so! I try to be, anyway. Sometimes I worry I’m too casual with slipping into IM’s or commenting on posts, but so far I don’t think I’ve scared anyone off, so that’s good.

naosh-of-muses (URL meme)
My Opinion on;
Character in general:  Oh man do I love me some Asgore~! He’s such a cool dude and just a big fluffy softie. Just as Gerson said in the game “Everybody loves that guy!”
How they play them:  They really play into his dadly nature! I love how soft and sweet and emotional he can be! I also love how they can just switch on a dime and bring out the worst in him like they do with Underfell Asgore. They really got his cruelty and wickedness down! I love it!
The Mun: We don’t talk much outside of threads but they are really good at communicating thoughts and ideas about threads. They are also super polite when asking if certain ideas or other stuff is okay or not! They’re very friendly!
Do I:
RP with them: YEP! I love this heckin’ soft goat man and his evil af counterpart!
Want to RP with them: Hell yeah!
What is my;
Overall Opinion: Very sweet and pleasant and a really good Asgore!
