Chamomile
Matricaria chamomilla (shown) | Chameamelum nobile
Known as: Chamaimelon, earth apple, German chamomile, ground apple, heermannchen chamaimelon, maythen, manzanilla, Roman chamomile, scented mayweed, whig plant & wild chamomile
Related plants: There are two species of chamomile, both are in the Asteraceae family (Roman chamomile & German chamomile) with plants that consists of over 32,000 known species of flowering plants in over 1,900 genera within the order Asterales. They are commonly referred to as the aster, daisy, composite or sunflower family. I am from this point forward referring to Matricaria chamomilla in this post specifically.
Parts used: whole flower & leaves
Habitat & cultivation: This flowering plant is native to South-West Asia, Eastern & Southern Europe but can be found on almost continents nowadays. The wild-growing chamomile species normally grow on sandy to loamy soils that are mostly acidic and should be open.
Plant type: Annual
Region: 5-9
Harvest: Can be harvested as soon as blooms have established which is about 10 weeks.
Growing tips: The roots of chamomile are shallow and just barely grip onto the top soil which makes it more sensitive to water conditions during the initial stages of growth when the plant is establishing itself. However once it's established, it is drought tolerant & need about an inch of water a week. Wait until after the last spring frost to add chamomile to your garden. It grows well in raised beds, containers, and in-ground gardens. Space chamomile plants 8 inches apart in full sun for best flowering. In hot climates, an area with partial afternoon shade is ideal.
Medicinal information: Chamomile has been used as a traditional medicine for thousands of years. A mouth rinse with chamomile might relieve mouth sores caused by cancer treatments. Some research suggests that chamomile could help with other conditions, like diarrhea in children, hemorrhoids, anxiety, and insomnia. When used on the skin, chamomile might help with skin irritation and wound healing. Some research has documented that it may be as effective as hydrocortisone cream for eczema.
Cautions: Most experts say chamomile is safe. It can cause drowsiness and, in large doses, vomiting. It also has the potential to trigger allergic reactions in people who are allergic to related plants in the daisy family, although such reactions are very rare. Given the lack of evidence about its long-term safety, chamomile is not recommended for people who are pregnant or chestfeeding.
Magickal properties
Gender: Masculine
Planet: Sun
Element: Fire
Deities: Cernunnos, Karnaya, Mercury, Oshun, St.Anne & Sun gods
Magical uses:
• Burn as an incense to aid in sleep and meditation
• Plant around your house to ward against psychic or magickal attacks
• Wash your hands with chamomile before gambling to ensure good luck
• Use in an infusion to wash your thresholds to stop unwanted energies from passing through
• Place the flowers in your wallet to attract money
• Keep in a satchet to protect against physical or magickal danger
• Add to a dream pillow with lavender to ensure peaceful sleep

• Steep in hot water, then sprinkle around yourself as a metaphysical barrier
• Add to spells to increase the chances of success
• Use in ritual baths with catnip and rose to attract a lover
• To alleviate overwhelming emotions, you can hold dry chamomile in your hands as you recite affirmations or prayers to ease the heart

Furby overload!!

I've been trying to make this post all day, but it's been hard with how absolutely mind boggled I've been.
A package from the lovely absolute angel @pbandjesse came today with the caramel syrup furby she sent me- and to my surprise it had two extra furbies!! A wolf and a springtime!
I can't express how very grateful I am! I'll definitely make sure to take as good of care of all these sweet little creatures as I possibly can!
#10 furbies in my room alone ! Im definitely having trouble fitting all these angels on my shelf.#(if the 10 doesn't check out to you that's because there's one more beast who isn't with me at the moment)#furbyposting#furby: chamomile#furby: frühling#furby: unnamed#i feel a little guilty for renaming the springtime but frühling is my favorite german word and maybe my favorite word ever lol

-. on my third cup of chamomile I forgot my mother telling folks when i was a kid that she didn't like making me chamomile tea because it doesn't work on me it has the effect on me coffee has on most folks I am READY to fucking GO what's up chamomile tea to sleeP? NO MY BEAUTIES chamomile tea to something pls insert something that makes sense and is hype i can't think of anything, SO--
I do wanna get to some ooc messages but I can't promise I can get my brain in order to be coherent BUT ANYWAY, BEFORE THAT, dropping this asshole
Kim Minjun, 37, he/him, bloodsucker asshole baby~ Not in the literal sexy vampire sense, I mean he rose from the dirt and decided to make his living thriving off of what we made celebrity culture into, the very notion of celebrity culture itself
You want those pictures of Spider-man on your desk by Wednesday? You wanna know who's doing who and who's smoking what? You want exclusive details on a private party to start shit, get legal info acquired illegally just to have a story to tell about the latest celebrity divorce? Well, then Minjun's your fucking guy
Actually born Kim Jung-hoon but he changed it to Minjun because it sounds more... modern, fresh, better
He's a sleaze, a bit of a motherfucker honestly (forgive the cursing I'm matching his energy, his attitude), he doesn't care about the lives he could potentially be ruining, he operates according to the idea of 'well that's how this world works, don't like it? jump ship'
He'll dig up just about anything, he's started from being a sneaky piece of shit stalker following celebrities around to having built enough connections to be among the first to know when someone with a Reputation is entering this or the other club
But that's not even where his real forte is, oh no; gathering info is easy, figuring out how to get it around is difficult: who to sell it to? who's gonna pay the most, who's gonna turn into an enemy if you share the wrong name, the wrong location, expose the wrong people? no, he's good at finding shit, but the complexities of having to mind connections and be careful with who you drag into the dirt? not his favourite
What Minjun really excels at... is spinning shit around, he can turn the most innocuous of pictures into the drama of the century, by carefully nurturing doubts and rumours, he's a snake, a bastard
He's always hated the entertainment industry, he thinks himself above it, because he's not as desperate as them, he doesn't do what he does because he's otherwise got no worth in life, he doesn't sell his soul, he sells the souls of others
He doesn't think he's on the right side of history, oh no, by no means, he just thinks... well, don't become a celebrity if you don't want this treatment
The more I write about him the more I hate him lmao BUT GOOD WE NEED VILLAINS, UNREEDEEMABLE ONES
He comes from a relatively poor background, if comparing it to Hyun for example, but if he'd minded his business he would have just... lived a 'regular' life
He's particularly efficient when used as 'spy on the competition', new script ideas, new music ideas, new design ideas, you want to know what Shakespeare's next big play will be, Nicholas Bottom? well, then hit up this fucking clown
Only child, if his mother knew what he was up to she'd beat the shit out of him, he doesn't respect his father (haven't decided if he even lives still) but he does love his mother which is why he hasn't told her
Biromantic but he's a walking red flag so I hope the broadened pool of dating options doesn't fucking date him, demisexual
He can probably be fixed but WHY? why would you do that to yourself
He does have one little plus point, he's kind of like old school mafia in the sense that he doesn't mess with children, and anyone below 20 is a child to him, so he doesn't really mess with young idols and trainees
He actually hates the idol industry he thinks it's exploitative and abusive which is real fucking rich coming from him, but hey
I'LL WORK ON MORE ♥
#the bloodsucker;about#;ooc#i completely forgot about this aspect of my childhood it was kind of prevalent enough for a moment that it came back to me#that i have a relationship to chamomile tea and THAT'S WHAT IT WAS it's like a sugar rush or something#it doesn't help that i slept very badly tonight and my sleep-deprivation and the bags under my eyes#may be glamorous and fashionable but my brain's going so fast oh mgy DON FG#AND MY CONFIDENCE IS INCREASING AS I TYPE HOW ARE YOU#i'm on s1 finale of the bear and they weren't joking when they said it was good IT'S SO FUCKING GOOD#i almost cried at least once per episode just because i love these people being people#when i finished the first episode i literally sat through the credits because i was gaping at my screen#ANYWAYS PAPARAZZI BASTARD MAN#snuck in a musical reference did you see it#the voice they gave him in the witch in german was so good#the dub itself WAS WONKY but yknow#you know if Lynnie's beautiful magnificent celebrity verse were a show i could co write in#i'd kill this one off LMAO DFKLDLJSGFGLDFJGHJHFHKL#i'd also pitch a wedding episode for Deva & Aeri or just some-- GOSH i love THEM SO#i'm laughing at my own jokes btw if you hear something weird while reading this

Discover the Power of German Chamomile Essential Oil: Benefits and Uses
German chamomile essential oil is a potent and versatile natural remedy that has been used for centuries to address a wide range of health and wellness concerns. Derived from the delicate blue-purple flowers of the Matricaria recutita plant, this essential oil is prized for its calming, anti-inflammatory, and soothing properties. In this comprehensive article, we'll explore the remarkable benefits and diverse applications of German chamomile essential oil, empowering you to harness its transformative power for your overall well-being.
The Origins and Composition of German Chamomile Essential Oil
German chamomile, also known as wild chamomile or Hungarian chamomile, is a flowering plant that has been cultivated for thousands of years, primarily in Europe and parts of Asia. The essential oil is extracted from the plant's delicate flowers through a steam distillation process, which captures the potent compounds responsible for its therapeutic effects.
The chemical composition of German chamomile essential oil is remarkably complex, containing over 120 identified compounds. The primary active ingredients include chamazulene, alpha-bisabolol, and various terpenoids and flavonoids. These compounds work synergistically to provide the oil's remarkable benefits, ranging from anti-inflammatory and analgesic (pain-relieving) properties to potent antioxidant and antimicrobial effects.
Therapeutic Benefits of German Chamomile Essential Oil
1. Calming and Soothing Properties
One of the most renowned benefits of German chamomile essential oil is its ability to promote relaxation and ease feelings of stress and anxiety. The oil's calming aroma, combined with its ability to regulate the nervous system, can help to alleviate tension, soothe the mind, and facilitate a sense of tranquility. Many individuals use German chamomile essential oil for its calming effects, either through topical application or by inhaling the vapors.
2. Reducing Inflammation and Pain
German chamomile essential oil is a powerful anti-inflammatory agent, thanks to its high concentrations of chamazulene and alpha-bisabolol. These compounds have been shown to inhibit the production of inflammatory mediators, such as prostaglandins and leukotrienes, which can contribute to various inflammatory conditions. As a result, the oil can be effectively used to alleviate pain and discomfort associated with conditions like arthritis, muscle aches, and menstrual cramps.
3. Promoting Skin Health
German chamomile essential oil is highly valued for its skin-nourishing properties. Its anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial qualities make it a valuable asset in the treatment of various skin conditions, including eczema, acne, and dermatitis. Additionally, the oil's ability to soothe and calm irritated skin makes it a popular ingredient in natural skincare products, such as cleansers, toners, and moisturizers.
4. Improving Digestive Health
The soothing and anti-spasmodic properties of German chamomile essential oil can also be beneficial for digestive health. The oil has been used traditionally to alleviate symptoms of gastrointestinal issues, such as indigestion, bloating, and stomach cramps. By regulating the smooth muscle contractions of the digestive tract, German chamomile essential oil can help to ease discomfort and promote overall gut health.
5. Enhancing Wound Healing
German chamomile essential oil's potent antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties make it a valuable asset in the wound-healing process. When applied topically, the oil can help to protect against infection, reduce inflammation, and accelerate the natural healing process. This makes it a popular choice for the treatment of minor cuts, scrapes, and burns.
Versatile Applications of German Chamomile Essential Oil
Aromatherapy and Topical Use
One of the most common ways to experience the benefits of German chamomile essential oil is through aromatherapy. The oil's calming and soothing aroma can be diffused into the air, providing a relaxing and stress-relieving environment. Additionally, the oil can be diluted with a carrier oil and applied topically to the skin, targeting specific areas of concern, such as muscles, joints, or the abdomen.
Dietary Supplementation
While it's important to consult with a healthcare professional before consuming essential oils, some research suggests that German chamomile essential oil may offer internal health benefits when taken in small, controlled doses. The oil's anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties may help to support digestive health, alleviate menstrual cramps, and even promote healthy skin from the inside out.
Household and Personal Care Uses
German chamomile essential oil's versatility extends beyond its therapeutic applications. The oil can be incorporated into various household and personal care products, such as natural cleaning solutions, laundry detergents, and even homemade beauty items like face masks and bath salts. Its gentle, calming scent and beneficial properties make it a valuable addition to a wide range of natural and eco-friendly products.
Safety Considerations and Proper Usage
While German chamomile essential oil is generally considered safe for most individuals, it's important to exercise caution and follow proper usage guidelines. The oil should be diluted in a carrier oil before topical application, and it's always advisable to perform a patch test to ensure no adverse reactions occur. Individuals with allergies or sensitivities to the Asteraceae plant family should exercise particular care when using the oil. Additionally, it's crucial to consult with a healthcare professional before consuming German chamomile essential oil internally or using it during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.
Conclusion
German chamomile essential oil is a remarkable natural remedy that offers a wide range of benefits for physical, mental, and emotional well-being. From its calming and soothing properties to its anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial effects, this versatile oil can be a valuable addition to your holistic health and wellness regimen. By understanding the origins, composition, and diverse applications of German chamomile essential oil, you can unlock its transformative power and experience its profound impact on your overall quality of life.

Earliest Seed Starting for Home Garden
I shouldn’t plant tomatoes now, but I should plant these in January. Most of the plants that I tend to plant, I tend to plant too early. For instance, I have tried to plant tomato plants in January and it was not pretty. However, I have since learned that there are seeds that I can plant now that will give me a chance to scratch the itch of getting started with my next season’s garden now in…

Anglo Saxon Nine Herb Charm
Ancient charm that is rooted in Germanic paganism and witchcraft, it’s very helpful for those interested in herbalism, Folk magic, Germanic folk magic and paganism, or just simple herbal magic. It's said that it was taught by Woden or Odin (Norse) who is the god of healing. It’s in the form of a poem, a form of Galdor which is basically is incantation when reciting this poem you’re evoking these herbs. By how the poem is written the plants are spoken like another person or living thing with a conscious mind. It’s one of good sources of wortcunning or medicinal knowledge of herbs. The blog can be helpful for those who wishes to bond with these herbs this poem can really bring good insight.
Some points to take note in this poem, most of these herbs are to be used in a healing context against poison. The Saxons believed that diseases were caused by corruption of evil spirits, elf-shot, most commonly in form of “Worms” not worms we see today in the soil but more like dragons or serpents. “Nesso” is the Anglo Saxon term and Wyrm is High German where Worm derives from which means dragon. That to cast the “worms” out is essentially getting rid of the poison. When you find yourself reading Anglo Saxon charms with “Worm” that is what is being refer to. The number 9 is very sacred in Germanic paganism and witchcraft, also the use of christian elements is suppose to be there. In medieveal context of folk magic in general a common concept is to mix pagan deities with Christianity Woden and Christ is not uncommon in German folk magic to be seen together. The green is the herbs mentioned and after the poem I'll put what some of the herbs are in modern day in english. I should also note there is multiple translations but this version is what I'm most familiar with.
Traditionally to perform the ritual a witches would chant over the herbs and applied to the patient’s body then the witch would blow into the targets ear and mouth to get rid of the evil/harmful spirit.
Remember, mugwort, what you made known, What you arranged at the Great proclamation. You were called Una, the oldest of herbs, you have power against three and against thirty, you have power against poison and against infection, you have power against the loathsome foe roving through the land.
And you, Waybread, mother of herbs, Open from the east, mighty inside. over you chariots creaked, over you queens rode, over you brides cried out, over you bulls snorted. You withstood all of them, you dashed against them. May you likewise withstand poison and infection and the loathsome foe roving through the land.
'Stune' is the name of this herb, it grew on a stone, it stands up against poison, it dashes against poison *Nettle it is called, it attacks against poison, it drives out the hostile one, it casts out poison. This is the herb that fought against the serpent, it has power against poison, it has power against infection, it has power against the loathsome foe roving through the land. Put to flight now, attorlaðe (poison hater), the greater poisons, though you are the lesser, until he is cured of both.
Remember, Chamomile, what you made known, what you accomplished at Alorford, that never a man should lose his life from infection after Chamomile was prepared for his food.
This is the herb that is called Stinging Nettle. A seal sent it across the sea-right, a vexation to poison, a help to others. it stands against pain, it dashes against poison,
A worm came crawling, it killed nothing. For Woden took nine glory-twigs, he smote the the adder that it flew apart into nine parts. There the apple accomplished it against poison that she [the loathsome serpent] would never dwell in the house.
Chervil and fennel, two of much might, They were created by the wise Lord, holy in heaven as He hung. He set and sent them to the seven worlds, to the wretched and the fortunate, as a help to all. It stands against pain, it fights against poison, it avails against 3 and against 30, against foe´s hand and against noble scheming, against enchantment of vile creatures.
Now there nine herbs have power against nine evil spirits, against nine poisons and against nine infections: Against the red poison, against the foul poison, against the white poison, against the pale blue poison, against the yellow poison, against the green poison, against the black poison, against the blue poison, against the brown poison, against the crimson poison, against worm-blister, against water-blister, against thorn-blister, against thistle-blister, against ice-blister, against poison-blister,
If any poison comes flying from the east, or any from the north, [or any from the south,] or any from the west among the people. Christ stood over diseases of every kind.
I alone know a running stream, and the nine adders beware of it. May all the weeds spring up from their roots, the seas slip apart, all salt water, when I blow this poison from you
mucgwyrt - Mugwort
wegbrāde - Waybread - Plantain
Stune - Lamb Cress
Stiðe - Nettle
mægðe - Chamomile
wergulu - Stinging Nettle
æppel - Crab Apple
fille - Chervil
finule - Fennel
*Stiðe most likely means nettle as a type of plants that is used very broadly, whilst stinging nettle refers to the actual plant such as the leaves, stems, etc. Nettle can also mean the roots. Some translations have attorlaðe instead of Stiðe, but in my opinion it's talking about how nettle is perceived here attorlaðe means 'poison hater' link to Fumitory. Perhaps Fumitory to the Saxons was related to Nettle I'm not sure just a theory of mine. Most likely than not the fourth herb in the charm is Nettle in the board sense of the family of plants. Unless someone can give me a more insight on the translation, I be more than happy to be corrected.
I really hope this helps people and it may inspire others on the path and learning of Anglo Saxon culture and Traditions. :)

Can you share with me some headcanons only about Chase
Hi! Sorry it took so long, I needed to think.
1. Chase is a polyglot and loves to learn new languages.
2. In fact, Chase could cook food just fine, he just lacks the practice.
3. On Cybertron, Chase was originally some kind of accountant, but he really wanted to become a police officer, so he joined the ranks of the rescuers.
4. Chase hides from Whirl in Heatwave's office. Incidentally, he and Blades swap cadets quite often.
5. Most of the fiction Chase reads was recommended to him by Boulder. However, he is not so interested in art.
6. Among book detectives, Chase likes Hercule Poirot the most. However, he uses Sherlock Holmes' method of deduction quite often in practice.
7. Chase doesn't really understand what "being cool" means. He just takes Heatwave and Blades at their word.
8. Sometimes Chase only pretends to listen to someone. This happens when the plot of the book is too exciting to pay attention to reality. But he will always pay attention to the notes of sadness in someone else's voice!
9. Chase knows Strongarm. She was the one who gave him several pairs of handcuffs after Sideswipe was stranded on the island.
10. Chase can move the antennae on his head, but it is done unconsciously and barely noticeably.
11. When Boulder is busy, Chase helps Graham with his homework. The same goes for Cody.
12. When Chase learns something new from history or politics, he first checks with Charlie to make sure he understood the meaning correctly, and later discusses it with Heatwave.
13. Chase actually tries to get into hockey, only because Heatwave likes the sport.
14. Sometimes Chase watches True Crime, but forbids Blades from being around while doing so.
15. One time, Chase had to spend a lot of time persuading Huxley to delete a stupid video of him.
16. Chase is an ISTJ. In fact, he is one of the best workers in many areas. However, if he thinks that he knows a "better solution" that he has calculated logically, then that's what he will do.
17. Chase takes on the role of the team's defender in any situation. Sometimes others literally have to grab him by the arms or shoulders because he is always putting himself in danger.
18. Chase is an absolute pro at every game, but he keeps it a secret.
19. Chase has a gun, he just doesn't like using it most of the time.
20. Chase is left-handed.

Humanization version:
1. Chase doesn't sleep much because he works so much. The only thing that helps him fall asleep is chamomile tea (or hugs, but he won't admit it).
2. Chase is English with German and Japanese family roots.
3. Chase has his own small library at home.
4. As one of his hobbies, Chase writes scientific papers, which Charlie helps him publish. When necessary, he defends the papers online.
5. Chase could have a cat or fish as a pet, but he is rarely home. By the way, he only dislikes Mr. Pettipos because he considers him rude, but he will never say it out loud.
6. When it comes to food, Chase loves seafood the most.
7. Chase always smells like he just got out of the shower.
8. In addition to his work in the police, Chase works remotely in IT.
9. Chase has several cacti in his work area because Boulder said they absorb "bad moods."
10. Chase visits the traumatologist more often than others.

Potentially you gotta stop making all those substitutions to the spells, witch bestie.
If you're trying to learn magic and have chosen to do so through other people's published instructional manuals, and the magic isn't working, consider asking yourself if you are actually following the rituals provided.
I've been speaking with multiple people lately who are all struggling with the same thing, so perhaps a post on this topic is germane.
Unless you understand the tradition you're working with and why certain things have certain meanings, you probably do not have the background required to make effective substitutions.
Working within someone else's established tradition is not the same as working within your personal eclectic path.
Imagine you go into a working group which is super into bioregional practice and they've developed elaborate rituals which always work for them.
They give you a purification ritual which calls for a red apple, wild-harvested cotton, and local mulberries to be worked over during a full moon.
They do not tell you why each of these things is included. They just give you the list.
We're going to substitute a store-bought cotton ball, obviously, and what to do about the mulberries? We can google "mulberry correspondences," find out they're related to "healing" which is the closest thing we can figure has anything to do with a purification ritual, then pretty much figure that since chamomile is associated with sleep and purification, and sleep is a Lunar thing, right, that we can just use a sleepytime chamomile tea bag, and there you have it!
What the working group has failed to tell you is that this entire ritual is based on local mythology where the cotton wight fell in love with the mulberry dryad and they got married under the full moon by sharing an apple, and the entire ritual isn't based on sympathetic container magic, but is a heirophany which recreates the marriage of local sacred spirits, each of whom has sworn to heal and purify those who honor their love.
A heck of a lot of witchcraft authors do not break down why every single step is taken.
And if you apply contemporary witch-lite logic to everything ("cotton is white so I'm going to relate that to color correspondences and substitute a white candle for purity"), you can end up immediately canceling out a spell.
Not understanding or connecting with certain spell/ritual steps is not a good reason to change them.
You had mulberries once as a kid and they gave you stomach cramps and now you personally associate them with hexing and sickness, so even though there is a ripe mulberry tree outside, you are going to go get a container of blackberries instead, which you personally associate with purification, and -
(You get the drift)
The spell calls for making a paper box, within which you hide the wild cotton and mulberry. Then, at a crossroads at the full moon, you unfold the box to reveal its contents, and offer an apple to the correspondences.
Which would mean we'd have to learn how to make a paper box (fun!) but also like, why this unfolding thing? Nothing I've read so far in my witchcraft books has explained the magical meaning behind opening a paper box. This is basically a container spell, right? I'll just use a glass jar.
(The plant spirits who informed the local coven about this spellwork specified an opaque, degradable container)
If you're using other people's work, you're more or less sacrificing yourself to the reality that they probably are not explaining everything to you, and that your assumptions about what makes that magic tick could be so far off base that even your most educated guesses will fall short.
Yeah, using other people's traditions can mean you don't have what's required to do everything, and that's kind of just the way it is.
I'm not trying to be Mr. Just Go And Buy Stuff You Moneybags, but I guess I am being Mr. If You Can't Do It Then You Can't Do it.
And no, I'm not saying that it's impossible to figure out substitutions.
I'm specifically referring to a situation where a practitioner is trying to figure out magic, hasn't been able to make strides, and then it turns out they've been radically modifying and altering spells from specific traditions to a point where the spell is obviously functionally DOA.
At one point I was learning some slightly advanced bit of coding. I downloaded a set of files from a code library and installed them on my website.
The thing was, at that point in my education, I had enough experience to basically understand what was going on with each file. So, I edited them as I went, modifying them to my custom specifications.
Wouldn't you know it! When I launched the code it was broken. DOA, if you will.
I went back to the code library, and the top comment was,
INSTALL THE FILES AND MAKE SURE THEY WORK BEFORE YOU TRY TO CHANGE THEM. Everyone keeps changing things before they even test launch it and then they come back here and complain that the code is broken. IT ISN'T BROKEN.
