If you don’t vote for Harris, you’re giving me permission to call you racist, sexist, and homophobic, because those are the things you allow.

Not voting, or a vote for a third party, is a vote for Trump. The far-right are united behind Trump, because they’re too blind to see better. The far-left are too careful about what they endorse that the only candidate they’ll vote for doesn’t exist.

No person is perfect, but Harris is miles better than Trump.

Don’t let perfect be the enemy of good.

I see so many young, essential voters choose to abstain from progression in a flawed system in favor of the idea for moral purity.

The only way to fix it is to elect a candidate who is willing to work towards that.

We don’t have that opportunity this election, but a Harris term gives leeway to better representatives in the future, in all levels of government.

Not voting because you hate the way it happens is a vote for someone who will never change the way it happens because he benefits too greatly from it.

Vote Harris. We’ll debate her, and criticize her, and improve her all we can, but for the love of God, let’s do it once Trump can’t hurt America any more.

No matter who we elect, they will support Israel, as the US has a historical allyship with them, but there’s hope that Kamala could help.

okay, but on a serious note, as someone with a degree in history, this is a terrifying event. not only is this showing that our leaders and former leaders are not safe from an attack, but this attempt also happened against a former president that may will use this to his advantage. this man, a former REALITY TV STAR, knows how to play a crowd. he knows how to put on a show and manipulate people to be on his side. he already has an insane fan base who has ALREADY incited an insurrection attempt on the very government they CLAIM TO LOVE.

history loves a martyr, and a living martyr can make things worse. whether this was real or staged, it will be treated as real by every single news source that matters unless proven otherwise -- which could end up being proven years down the line. the right are already using this as a reason to vote for trump. I can't scroll through my facebook without people in every single group I'm in discussing this. all press is good press, especially to the right wing where they can spread their propaganda.

this night is going to be in history books. unless the American people come together, and EVERYONE who can vote against trump, votes for Biden (god help us), this night may very well be listed in the reasons fascism came to take hold of the United States.

you can read the reasons why World War I and II happened, and you can see the clear picture as all of those reasons are laid out in front of you.

Not to fear monger, but World War III's causes are already being laid out in front of us clearly, unless we can work together to stop it. Ukraine, Palestine, and many other places are already the places of first conflict. take a look around. read the news from all angles.

Hot take, but some of y’all don’t know what goth means. Libby doesn’t wear nude lipgloss and white crop tops; she wears heavy black eyeliner and dark lipstick, and platform knee high boots with buckles.

Normally, I wouldn’t be this picky about the representation of a book character, but as someone who’s be made fun of A LOT for having an alt style, it hurts to see that what is a coping system for many people (not saying it is for her, but it doesn’t seem far fetched); fashion, is being diluted to make her more digestible. When Libby changes her image to please Alisa, she dyes her hair AND drastically changes her fashion, and that is what I feel is happening here. Again, normally, I wouldn’t care, but being goth is such an important part of her character, and it’s so common for alternative or “weird” traits/characters to be adapted so people are able to see someone they relate to. Alt characters are frequently changed or dumbed down to niche one trait (for Libby, it’s often her hair/liking black) so instead of having interests that are weird and creepy, they are just quirky and different while still being societally acceptable. She IS weird and she IS creepy. That’s not an insult.

You don’t have to agree with me but I ask that you at least consider it.

You guys aren’t getting it. It’s not about how likely they are to kill you, everybody knows that a bear is dangerous, it’s about WHY they’d kill you. A bear would kill someone for survival, so they could eat. A rapist would kill someone because they are a vile, sick person. Nobody would blame you for being killed by a bear, many people would blame you for being raped because society doesn’t value women’s lives as much as men’s.

The whole (Hawthorne) family decides to play Never Have I Ever

It’s all normal questions

Until

Grayson (who has been making weird questions all night) poses this:

Never have I ever used a kitchen implement for something not it’s intended purpose

Avery, Libby, and Xander raise their hands

Xander’s was using various utensils for machines when he was a kid

Avery’s was a hasty haircut involving some meat scissors

Everyone looks at Libby

All she says is “It was a whisk”

Nash clearly knows; he’s smirking

The room erupts with shouts

“Never have I ever used a whisk to remove a hickey” comes from Max, a hack she learned on TikTok

Avery is oddly silent, staring at Libby

Slowly, she opens her mouth

“Never have I ever… put a whisk… in my vagina”

Libby’s face glows bright red

Nash starts cackling

“Well— technically”

Jameson yells “NEVER HAVE I EVER HAD THE COWBOY BROTHER OF A VERY DISTURBED JAMESON PUT A WHISK IN MY VAGINA”

Libby lowers her head as she raises her hand feebly, falling into Nash’s chest

A scream comes from Max, “WHICH END?”

Laughter erupts around the room

In the midst of it all, Xander manages to get out a feeble “Avery, I bet you looked great with that hair cut”

She throws a pillow at him

He throws it back

Jumping over her boyfriend, Avery descends upon him

They wrestle, kicking at each other

The whole group watches, still laughing

Until

Xander grabs Avery by the waist and shoved her

He intends to just throw her onto Jameson

He throws her to the other side of the couch

She curls up dramatically, feigning pain

Xander starts crying because he is so guilty

Avery and Jameson have a Minecraft world they have spent WEEKS on

Jameson blushes every time she puts their little Minecraft beds together as if he doesn't LIVE in her bed

Jameson gets kicked out once a month so Avery, Libby, Max, and Xander can have a girls' night/sleepover

he pouts every time

at this point he doesn't even knock before going into the bathroom while she's in there

Avery is a mochi girl and Jameson honestly doesn't get the hype

they love reading Nancy Drew books

they dress up as Ned and Nancy for Halloween and nobody gets it

Avery always has something sprained and Jameson teases her relentlessly for it

his phone wallpaper is a photo Xander took of him burying Avery in sand during one of their vacations

hers is a picture she made Grayson take with his nice camera of Jameson and Nash as they were walking on the lawn

Nash asked Jameson to be his best man and he was so sure it'd be Grayson that he cried

they both have CRIPPLING self-esteem issues but they are so adamant that it's wrong when it comes to the other person

Avery is Libby's maid of honor as well (obvs)

when she goes to try on her dress for the wedding (they had taken the measurements a month in advance) it's too small and she starts crying

They both get nightmares a lot and so when they don’t they have a little party

There are so many of those “celebrity couples wearing each others’ clothes” comps of them

Avery’s fav sweatshirt is one of Jameson's from when he was like 14 because it’s actually her size

When Jameson gets sick he gets sad because he doesn't like feeling helpless

They NEVER shower alone

Whenever Avery is sad Jameson gets all the blankets and pillows and makes a nest for them to cuddle

Avery LOVES coconut and it makes Jameson gag (me too, Jameson, me too)

He actually cried during their first time because he thought that he would accidentally hurt her or it would be bad for her and she'd hate him

girlie pop did NOT hate him (quite the opposite)

Jameson draws stars all over her when he's anxious/just feeling bad with sharpie because he likes that they stay for a while so he knows she's there (does that make sense?)

For his birthday one year she gets stars tattooed on her hips and he cries :)

Avery loves choosing Jameson's clothes because she doesn't have a lot of control over what she wears

They match at EVERY event they go to even if it's just a small detail

Jameson gets his ear pierced in some county they visit and Avery goes FERAL
