Friendlocke Violet Gijinkas (Part 5/7)

Like i said previously im gonna try to finish these before the end of the year so expect to see the rest of these guys very soon (hopefully)

Designs under the cut!

JAYWEED:

Jayweed used to be part of the Sprigatito line before death, as evident by his cat-like features and his vague association with plants.

His arms are transparent, and can't really come into contact with anything besides Jayweed himself.

Can see spirits and talk to them, but chooses not to. He doesn't want to "waste his time" with the dead.

The creepiest thing about Jayweed is that his pupils aren't attached to his eyes... I...don't know what to do with that information but hey! It's info!

Somehow able to escape the friendbox without any outside interference. We don't know how he manages to do that.

He knows where you are. Start running.

LUKE:

Despite popular belief, Luke is not affiliated with Tulip in any way, shape, or form. They have done a collaboration at one point though.

He started his cult after growing bored of his mundane life as a simple model. He knows all the stuff he says is completely fake, but his followers still eat it up anyways. Pests, the lot of them.

Luke often goes on different podcasts in order to preach his word to a wider audience. Most of them seem to be outputted by him... well except for Braidy and Mykyie.

Luke is the only one to know about Cookie's past, but he never brought it up to anyone else for some reason...

He isn't afraid to put himself in danger, in fact he seems to enjoy the thrill of it.

It takes approximately 45 minutes for Luke to do his hair.

GERBICYCLE 2:

Gerbicycle 2 was made by Turo after being commissioned by Iono to make a delivery bot for her.

He met both Grace and 4est before the events of friendlocke, as they were all in Area Zero at some point in the past

It is scarily easy to convince him to go through even the most ridiculous of plans, as Gerbicycle doesn't exactly put much thought into consequences and stuff like that. It seems that somebody took advantage of that.

He initially wasn't programmed to feel emotions, though he is slowly learning how to.

When he's not in his work attire he likes to wear hawaiian shirts... it is unknown when or why he started to wear them.

Gerbicycle 1 died of food poisoning... how that happened to a robot is unbeknownst to me.

That's it for now! Uhmm... disintegrates

rewatching s1 of friendlocke to get back in the mood and.

god.  i almost forgot

13 minutes in, gerber is switched in, in a battle with multiple pokemon, to fight a shroomish (an early game grass-type) that it’s unlikely either other party member could take very well, and it very nearly turns bad after the shroomish critical hit.  derek has enough potions to heal him back up, but it’s a genuine brush with death that gets gerber to panic, and derek to reassure him.

and on a first viewing, you are immediately distracted by the fight being won and gootecks being mispronounced

but on a second.  well.  on my... ok tenth viewing and

all i can think about is the may fight where gerber dies.

because there, gerber is switched in, during a battle against multiple pokemon, to fight grovyle (the evolution of the grass-type starter), because no one else on the team would be capable of standing up to a leaf blade... and gerber only just is, and a single critical hit is enough to send him to red.

and derek’s got potions.  but not enough.  and they can’t heal enough.

and gerber fucking dies, while derek is trying to reassure him.

...y’know, maybe the real reason gerber survived the first instance this occurred is that mikey wasn’t there to make a fitting comment about it seconds before gerber died.

But seriously though, this whole incident solidified Gerber as one of my favorites this season. It was sad to see a lot of my favorites this season go, but it was also really funny. Whole thing was inspired by a comment someone made (can't remember who, I'd have to rewatch the vod) about sending Gerber to court

So I have been a fan of SaltyDKDan’s friendlocke series for a while now. Maybe to an unhealthy degree, considering I rewatched the same 5 hr long highlights video every day for 2 consecutive weeks 😅

In order to stop myself from watching the B&W2 highlights again, I started with the VODs of the new season in Violet and I love everyone so much (especially Christene’s and their kids Christene’s/Mykie Jr. and Peppy Jr.) so I decided to actually draw real digital art for the first time in actual months

I just couldn’t stop thinking about when Christene’s asked if Gerber could bring Christene’s (their daughter) to her piano practice. I just really liked the idea of little golden child Christene’s at her piano practice.

Then of course, I really love the babies and their goofiness. Little Christene’s with her tiny Mikey glasses and Peppy Jr. with his green bowl cut and tats lmao

But they’re still besties because I said so :)

watching the friendlocke episodes is so fun as someone who watched the streams because im just vibing and i hear gerber go "we can do that thing we were talking about" and i immediately feel like i got hit with the giga-ton hammer in horror

Idk why maybe i just wasnt in the right mindset watching it but like. Friendlocke s3 is so much less memorable or interesting then s1 and 2. I feel like non of the characters stand out, they dont feel like they have any interpersonal connections like they did in the last seasons and instead of feeling like characters they feel like gimmicks. And while theres rlly nothing deep about gerbers asa is s1 its iconic to his character and feels organic rather then forced and while when u thinm of s1 gerber ur mostly thinking haha funny ass dog ur also remembering rhe rivalry with mal and other ways he interacted with people around him. None of the bits in s3 are as memerable as the prior seasons either like the only ongoing joke i can think of off the top of my head is lemonade and i watched this thing literallt earlier today. Nothing in s3 has anywhere near the comedic power of pete ness cut scenes and none of the characters are particularly memerable. Lark? Yeah he was 16 and grimaces son or something but he died too early. Sara? Uhm i actually have nothing i could say about this character. Mykyie? Yeah i had alot i could say at the start when i was watching the streams as they came out and everything had so much potential but like.. he died too early. Characters tbat seemed liek theyd be really fun at the start faded into regularity like grunpillo, he came out sad and pathetic 'youd be sad too if you were a ground penis' but like lost that character trait almost immediately. Blorpoido and vriska arent given enough time for their gimmicks to become interesting or memorable and even characters like cookie who were distinctive and had more time didnt have any kind of the impact say s2 mal or coach coz or characters like that had. Even The Lark who has like 40 minutes total screen time in the vods and barely exists in the final cut is more memorable to me then like any of the s3 characters. Idk but this season felt like they were trying too hard rather then just being a group of friends being silly and playing pretend. Like even the lore heavy moments in s1 and 2 were alot more organic bc they were spawned out of like jokes and silliness like celestial tower was there to shock salty bc he didnt know they had added that. Like i love friendlocke and i think the people participating in it are genuinely some of the most hilarious and talented people on the internet but idk s3 didnt do it for me
