can we get a meeting gerard storytime, i saw ur note on a post and i'm intrigued

omg its not much!! but i went to la luz de jesus gallery in Los Angeles for the "Shitty Teen" art exhibition from Lindsey Way(Gerard's wife, bassist of very problematic band Mindless Self Indulgence), and the "Please Stop Loving Me" art exhibition from Jessicka Addams.

my dad took me and my best friend to show we took photos of the art, my friend bought some animal bones, and the main event of the night we met gerard and lynz. me and my bsf took turns getting pics with each of them and talking to each of them a little bit. this was 2016 and mcr's break up was still kinda fresh for us so we avoid mentioning it and we asked him about his comics and lynz about her gallery and any upcoming projects of hers. after maybe 10ish minutes we didnt wanna hover any longer so we walked away as cooly as 2 15 yos could and we explored the shop some more. eventually we also came across more celebrities and got pics with them, it was Kevin Smith and his daughter Harley Quinn Smith. While we were exploring my dad didn't really know what to do so he just kinda stood with kevin smith and gerard in the like main room and they talked about their kids and my dad still talks about his Dad Convo™️ with them to this day.

by far the funniest part of the night, was when my dad needed to grab his wallet from our car which was like a block down from the shop. while he was gone me and my bsf had gone back up to lynz, who was alone at this point because gerard had disappeared into the back of the shop, and we were chatting with her and some other people there for the gallery and fucking FRANCES BEAN COBAIN WALKS IN and she hugs lynz and disappears into the back of the shop, and i had JUST sent a text to my dad along the lines of "JDHSO FRANCES BEAN CONAIN!!hJDHSHSBS!:!:!?" and 3 minutes later my dad is back huffing like "WHERE" and we had to break it to him that she was gone in about 20 seconds and he was pissy the rest of the night bc he wanted to get pics of us with her💀

the night ended with us buying one $30 shitty teen shirt for both of us to share but pretty much stayed at my house 100% of the time until it literally fell apart last year and buying mcdonalds on the way home(a 2 hour drive). we rode that high for years afterwards and to this day i still use the pic of me and gerard to make all my older emo cousins jealous
