Notice any parallels?  Poor, desperate Geraldine is mimicking her mother...

Geraldine’s hair is up to give the illusion of it being shorter (like her mother’s).

Carolyn opts for a classic, striking look by wearing a red blouse (symbolic of Carolyn’s personality and the clarity of her mind). Geraldine, who I think we can agree is a rather chaotic character, compromises by wearing a red dress with a busy and distracting(?) pattern.  

They both wear black leather jackets.

Like 99% of the fandom, I hated the Konstantin/Geraldine plot, so the fact she appears to be imitating her mother to woo him is.....just gross disturbing.  This is made all the more disturbing when you factor in that Geraldine knew her mother and Konstantin had been lovers in the past.  

That being said, this little discovery has made Geraldine a more interesting character for me.  She is either exceedingly manipulative and perhaps not conscious of this, which is rather sinister and very KE in my view, or a child who has been deeply troubled and injured by her mother.  As a Carolyn fan, I will cling to option one; that manipulation is an inherited talent and the apple didn’t fall too far from the tree, even if Geraldine will never admit it.

To be clear, I still think Geraldine’s function in the plot could and should have been successfully executed in far fewer episodes.

What I love about Killing Eve and the fans is that whenever a character (especially Villanelle), gets sad and/or cries, we go crazy. Like, holy shit, V has been sad for only two eps now and we’re all just freaking out. This kinda proves how well written the characters and the show are and how we have a really good connection to them.
