Just like Paddington.
Summary: While getting off the train at Paddington station, you and Gwilym find a bear.
Warnings: None! Just fluff!
A/N: Y'all...do you ever just look at Gwilym and CRY??? 😫 Plus I was watching (what should have been Oscar winning) Paddington and got some inspo for the fic! Enjoy! 💖
"Delayed by four hours..." Gwilym grumbled and helped you jump between the train and the platform by holding your hand as you stepped off.
"The beauty of the wonderful great British rail service!" You sarcastically uttered. "Delays are part of the service, Gwil!" You laughed and he rolled his eyes with a smile on his face before linking arms with yours. You had finally arrived in Paddington station after a day trip to Brighton. You rested your head on his bicep as you walked along the platform "I'm knackered," you tiredly sighed.
Gwilym pressed a kiss to you hair "We'll get a takeaway for dinner and binge watch whatever you want for the rest of the night. You never know...I might even run you a bubble bath," he leaned closer "And join you in it..." he suggestively purred and it sent a chill up your spine and made your lips to curve into a smile. He nuzzled his stubbly face against your cheek and pressed kisses to it, making you giggle. It fizzled down in your throat when you spotted something near a bench. You squinted your eyes and made your way over to it, taking Gwilym with you. "What is it?" He asked, not noticing the thing you were making a beeline for.
Upon closer inspection you realised it was a bear that was wearing a little red vinyl jacket. "It's a teddy bear," you kneeled down and picked it up, brushing its honey, brown coloured fur. "Someone must have dropped it..." you sighed and you both looked around for someone who might have left it but the station was practically empty. You stood up with it still in your hands "It's just like Paddington!"
Gwilym raised a brow "Not every bear found in Paddington station is Paddington, Y/N." He gently took the bear from you "Plus Paddington wears a blue jacket and he speaks. This one-" you both jumped when he squeezed it a little and heard two voices come from inside it.
'We love you beary much, Justin!'
You pressed your hands to your heart and your facial features softened. "Awh! They customised the speaker inside!" You cooed "Perhaps the two voices are the kids parents?" Gwilym was still looking at the thing. "Why don't we post a video or photos of it online and try and reunite it with its owner?"
"As sweet as that is, do you think it would work?" He asked, he didn't want you to get your hopes up.
You shrugged a shoulder "It's worth a try I guess." Gwilym nodded and you put the bear in his backpack before heading home.
He watched you with a soft smile as you wrote on a sheet of paper and placed it beside the bear. It said: 'I was found in Paddington station! Please help me find my way back home to Justin!' You made Gwil press the bear while you took a video of it speaking before you posted it to both your Instagram and Twitter pages.
"I guess all we can do now now is wait," he shifted back and forth from the balls of his feet to his heels.
"How about that bubble bath then?" You smirked and Gwilym's eyebrows eagerly rose and he grinned, wrapping his arms around your waist and dragging you to the bathroom.
After having a relaxing bath together, you both checked your phones and found it frantically buzzing with notifications. "My god..." he uttered and skimmed through them.
You let out a burst of laughter "Look at Joe's post!" You held your phone in front of Gwilym's face and he giggled seeing the caption: 'I hope they find their home! But he will never be as cute as Bear-jamin Hardy.' Above it, he had shared your post but added a photo of a bear that he had taped Ben's face to. "I can't wait to see Ben's reply."
"That is hilarious," Gwilym chuckled before you both decided to settle down and watch a box set. "Think we'll get the bear back home?" He asked, holding you in place with his arms while your back was against his chest, you were both lazily playing with each other's fingers.
"I hope so. I loved my teddy bears when I was a kid, I had so many in my bed that there would be hardly any space for me," you laughed and you felt yourself bouncing up and down when Gwilym loudly chuckled. "Oh! I had a teddy that I loved so much!" You sat up with a smile on your face as you reminisced. "It was a fluffy white bear with a pink heart nose and it had a rainbow coloured ribbon tied into a bow around its neck. I called him Mr Cuddlesworth."
Gwilym burst out laughing and then covered his mouth with his hands when he heard you groan in embarrassment. "I didn't mean to laugh that much! It's adorable, really- just like you." He pecked your nose. "Mr Cuddlesworth...?" He giggled and you hit him with a pillow. "What happened to him?"
You sighed "I'm not sure, I think I lost him." You glanced over to the bear you had found sitting on the chair. "Maybe that's why I want to make sure that one gets home, because I know how upsetting it is to lose something you care so much about."
Gwilym wrapped you up in his arms, stroking strands of hair behind your ear. "Let's get some sleep, hmm?" He pressed a kiss in the space between your ear and cheek before helping you up off the couch and leading you to bed.
•••
A few days later the pair of you were starting to give up hope of reuniting the bear with its owner.
That was until Lucy showed both you and Gwilym a video of a woman showing her phone to a young boy while someone recorded it. The young boy gasped and a wide smile spread across his face. 'That's Bobby! My Bobby bear!' He kept saying with a huge grin while pointing at the screen. "Looks like we've found Justin," Gwilym gave your hip a small squeeze "Should message them and say they can pick...Bobby up."
You nodded and sent the Instagram account a message. They replied a few hours later and you arranged a day they could bring Justin over to pick up his teddy.
"I think you're more excited than the kid," Gwilym laughed as he watched you peer out the window to see any signs of someone coming.
"Oh hush!" You smirked and waved away his words. "I think that's them!" You moved from the window and headed to the buzzer, waiting for it to ring. When it did, you answered it straight away. A few moments later, there was a knock at the door. You and Gwilym both opened it at the same time and noticed a young boy looking up at the both of you, sporting a similar jacket to the one that was on the bear. "Hi there!" You smiled "You must be Justin, and this must be mum and dad?" You asked looking at the couple behind him.
"Hi, yes!" The woman stretched out her hand and you shook it. "Georgia, and this is my husband, Tom." You shook his hand and Gwilym did the same.
"Nice to meet you," Gwilym politely greeted.
"Well come in!" You grinned and ushered the family into the flat you and Gwil shared. "I think someone's waiting for you just over there on the chair next to the window," you crouched down to Justin's level and pointed. He glanced up to his parents for signs of permission and they nodded with a small smile on their faces. The four of you walked through, you grabbed Gwilym's hand when you heard Justin gasp with happiness seeing his bear again. Your heart swelled at the sight and Gwilym looked between you and the boy reunited with his bear with a lopsided grin.
"There he is!" Georgia cooed "We can't thank you enough for doing what you did," she turned to both you and Gwil.
"He had been crying non-stop since he lost Bobby. Justin's had him since he was a baby." Tom explained "He was devastated and we were actually going to go to the station and ask if anyone had handed the bear in but my sister sent me the video you posted."
"We're just glad Justin and Bobby are reunited again," you smiled "It was kinda like being 'Paddington'!" You laughed and then noticed Georgia hand something to Justin who was standing behind her legs clutching onto Bobby for dear life, scared that he'd lose the teddy again. He gingerly stepped forward and handed you a piece of card that had a crayon drawing on it of what you could tell was him and Bobby the bear with the words 'Thank you' in bright blue and green above the drawing.
"Thank you for finding my bear," he shyly smiled before engulfing you in a hug. You laughed and the three adults around you were all touched by the sweet sight.
"You are so welcome! I just hope you keep an eye on him so he doesn't sneak off again!" You smirked and Justin let out a giggle.
"Can I get a photo of this?" Georgia asked.
"Course!" Gwilym smiled "I'm sure everyone will be relieved knowing Justin got his bear back!" He chuckled. You and Gwil stood either side of the boy who was proudly holding his teddy as Georgia took a few photos. You then all bid your goodbyes, Justin's parents thanking you both dozens of times before the door shut.
You and Gwilym both shared a loving look. "That was the sweetest thing I think I've ever experienced!"
"That was so adorable. Did you hear his little gasp!" Gwil placed his hands over his heart "God! It was so sweet!" He went over and picked up the card that Justin had made. "This is going on the fridge." He made his way to the kitchen before sneaking into the bedroom and grabbing something that he had hid under the bed the day before. "Hey, Y/N..." Gwilym trailed off and slowly entered the living room with his hands behind his back.
"Yeah?" You were lying out on the sofa while flicking through tv channels. You furrowed your brows noticing him acting so suspicious and shifty. "What?" You sat up a little and he perched himself on the other side of the couch with his hands still behind him.
He slowly brought them forward, including the thing he was holding. You gasped as tears welled in your eyes seeing the fluffy white bear with a pink heart nose and a rainbow coloured ribbon tied into a bow around its neck in his hands. "Guess who I found."
"Mr Cuddlesworth?!" You outstretched your arms and Gwilym handed him to you. "How did you even find him?" You squeaked out, cuddling your teddy with tears of joy slipping down your cheeks.
"I phoned your mum and she had a sneaking suspicion that he was in the loft of the house. So, after one afternoon of rummaging, seeing and screaming at more spiders than I ever thought existed, I finally found Mr Cuddlesworth in a box."
"Oh Gwil," you smirked and pecked his lips "This is the best thing anyone has ever done for me."
He cleared his throat "There's...uh...there's something a bit different about him." He swallowed hard and you narrowed your eyes before inspecting the bear- you didn't see anything different about it.
Until you noticed something on the bow.
"Gwil...?" You whispered with a smile creeping on your face.
He took the bear from you and got down on one knee holding it out to you. "Will you," he used the bears paw and pointed it to you "Marry me?" He pointed the paw at him with a hopeful smile on his face. "Please?"
You nodded and wrapped your arms around Gwilym, squashing the bear between you both. "Course I'll marry you!" You exclaimed and Gwil leaned back to place the ring on your finger, pressing a kiss to it after he did before lovingly kissing your lips.
A little while later, he made you pose with the bear and your new ring before the photo along with the two of you with Justin earlier to his Instagram with the caption: 'Justin was reunited with his beloved...and I get to spend a lifetime with mine...and Mr Cuddlesworth...'

Described as the ultimate pod for your little one, the Sleepyhead provides a safe space for your baby to sleep, rest, play and more. Designed in Sweden using breathable, washable and hypoallergenic materials, the Sleepyhead is lightweight and portable meaning easy travels whether its room to room, or on holiday.
It’s not just a bed, it can be used for tummy time and generally lounging around. Designed for home use and travel it is lightweight and portable – for using in baby’s crib, bed sharing, cot or even when toddler is moving to a bed for an extra snuggle…
We were lucky enough to be given a Sleepyhead to review – Thank you Sleepyhead!
Baby Leo has been in his pod for 3 months now so we asked Mum and Dad, Fay and Alex, how they (and Leo) have found the Sleepyhead.
Being brand new parents, with a product like this our number one concern was always going to be the safety of our baby. After reading numerous reviews online we couldn’t find a negative comment which immediately put us at ease. As soon as we got the real life version you could tell straight away just from feeling the Sleepyhead that it is a quality product. Having seen similar, cheaper products during our research, a big worry was the quality of the cloth used – but there were no concerns with the Sleepyhead’s breathable material.
It can take quite a while to get Leo off to sleep at the best of times and we weren’t sure if he would take to the sleepyhead at all – but to our surprise he settled straight away! Before, we would tend to hold him until he starts to drift off to sleep and then place him in his cot – quite often this wouldn’t go to plan and we’d have to repeat the whole process two even three times – but Leo settled at the first time of asking using the sleepyhead.
Although the design is very simple we were amazed how comfortable our baby looked. It was a snug fit for Leo with the raised outer edge of the sleepyhead essentially ‘holding’ him as he slept. He certainly looked secure and happy. We tucked a blanket underneath one edge of the sleepyhead and after placing Leo in we would simply wrap and tuck the blanket over the other side, the whole process takes seconds, no stress involved.
It’s a very lightweight product so no matter where in the house Leo is, it’s no hassle to take it to him. We also took it on a recent holiday with us and really liked how easy it was to transport – takes up little room, meaning we were reassured hat Leo would have a safe place to sleep on our trip.

The Sleepyhead is a well made, high quality product – simple in design and the stitching looks faultless. Its also a quick and easy process to remove the cover for washing. the foot of the Sleepyhead can be opened or closed depending on the size of your baby/toddler and what you are using it for.
Leo had the Sleepyhead deluxe and baby Georgia lucked out with the Sleepyhead Grande so she has a couple more years of use yet! Yay!!
The Sleepyhead retails between £135 and £200 and so isn’t doesn’t seem cheap but it gets amazing reviews. John Lewis stock it along with the Sleepyhead mobile toy arch (arch is exclusive to JL)
Pros: • Versatility • Lightweight • Comfort • Cover is machine washable • Feels like a quality product, no sign of wear or tear at all after many uses.
Cons: • Price could be lower
Rating Functionality / usability – 10 Aesthetics and design – 8 Value for money – 8 Quality – 10 Innovativeness – 9
Designed and developed in Sweden by mother of 2 Lisa Furuland, who after searching for an alternative to the blanket, cot and baby loungers looked to come up with a more snug and versatile option to those already in the market. The Sleepyhead range consists of the Deluxe (0-8 months) and the Grand (9-36 months) both available either online or through a number of worldwide retailers http://www.sleepyheadofsweden.com
Sleepyhead review – Not just a bed but a multifunctional pod for babies and toddlers Described as the ultimate pod for your little one, the Sleepyhead provides a safe space for your baby to sleep, rest, play and more.

First child diagnoses in DNA project – BBC News

The first children with debilitating “mystery” illness have finally been given a diagnosis as part of a huge scheme to analyse people’s DNA.
Four-year-old Georgia Walburn-Green’s damaged eyes and kidneys and her inability to talk had baffled doctors.
She is one of the first to have her precise genetic abnormality identified through the 100, 000 Genomes Project.
Her parents said the day Georgia was eventually diagnosed was one of the biggest of their lives.
If a child is born with Down’s syndrome or a heart flaw, then households know what to expect.
‘Unknown journey’
Yet Georgia’s mum and dad – Amanda and Matt – had only 20 minutes of “worry-free cuddling” when Georgia was born before their “world went from altogether happy to totally devastated”.
Doctors initially guessed Georgia had water on the brain because of the size of her head.
She was given a tentative all-clear, but physicians knew something was incorrect – they just could not identify what.
It was the start of more than four years of uncertainty for the family.

Amanda told: “That was very hard, I presumed if she was poorly, you go to hospital and it might be awful, but you’d know what’s incorrect and you deal with it.
“We didn’t know if she would walk or talk or have a normal life expectancy.
“It’s been a rollercoaster of what’s going to turn up next, you’re merely on this unknown journey slowly determining problems.”
Georgia’s parents tell she is a happy, social, animal-loving four-year-old with a knack for “wrapping people round her little finger”.

But she has not grown as quickly as other children, has lumps inside her eyes which affect her sight and kidneys that do not work properly.
“And we don’t know if she’ll ever speak, she understands us and urgently tries but can’t construct the sounds she wants to, ” her mum added.
Doctors suspected Georgia’s symptoms were down to errors in her Dna, which may have been inherited from her parents.
And that meant Amanda and Matt were not prepared to risk having another child.
The 100,000 Genomes Project is focused on understanding the genetics of cancer and rare diseases such as the one affect Georgia.
Spot the difference
Scientists at Great Ormond Street Hospital performed a giant game of spot the difference between the entire three billion base pairs which make up each of Georgia, Amanda and Matt’s DNA to find what went wrong.
Just before Christmas, physicians told them the genetic abnormality – in a gene called KDM5b – had been identified.
“That was one of the biggest days of my life, we’ve been searching for this for four years, ” Amanda said.
While the knowledge will not change the style Georgia is treated today, it offers hope that there will be a therapy in the future.
And in good news for the Walburn-Green family, Georgia’s mutation originated spontaneously rather than coming from her parents – entailing they will try to add to their family.
New treatments
However, some children such as Jessica are already benefitting from the 100,000 Genomes Project.
Again, despite recurred tests, her condition which included epileptic seizures remained undiagnosed.
But analysing her and her parents’ Dna detected a mistake causing GLUT1 Deficiency Syndrome.
She is unable to transport sugar into her brain’s cells, which is leaving it starved of energy. But a high fat – or ketogenic – diet should give the brain alternative solutions energy source entailing less epilepsy drug is needed.

Image caption The Genomes Project is already helping Jessica
Prof Lyn Chitty, who is leading the project at Great Ormond Street, told: “It’s really exciting to insure the results coming through and the difference this can make for households.
“It increases confidence in the project and shows that the application of genomics can live up to the promise of changing the style we diagnose and treat patients in the future.”
The first adults were diagnosed through the 100,000 Genomes Project in Newcastle last February.
