[Fireball] [Deep Purple] [1971] [LP] "Fireball" is probably the most experimental album of the hard rock legend "Deep Purple" and at the same time it is their most progressive work. Surprisingly, despite the unusual sounds, it is one of the most successful albums in the history of the band. . I can't really name my favorites on this album. Already the title track is stirring in its effect. Great what spacey mood the divine Jon Lord Hammond organ can create. The drums of Ian Paice grab the listener from the beginning and do not let go so quickly. In addition, there is the gripping guitar playing of Ritchie Blackmore and Roger Glover. The second track (no,no, no) is for me one of the best tracks in the entire rock history. Demons Eye needs a bit until it really penetrates to the listener, without Jon Lord on the Hammond organ something would probably be missing. Also the vocals of Ian Gillan and the wonderful guitar parts at the end prevent that the track is not immediately forgotten. . "Anyone's Daughter" makes you want to listen. This unusual track for Deep Purple surprises all along the line, it sounds very much like folk rock, which is not meant negatively! . My biggest favorite tracks come right after each other on this album, "The Mule" as well as "Fools". "The Mule" captivates with fascinating vocal skills Ian Gillan as well as the intoxicating instrumental solos. . The hypnotic "Fools" is like a drug from which there is no getting away. . "No one came" makes it unmistakably clear that Deep Purple are actually a hard rock band without meaning it pejoratively. .
