Al 15° raduno Vele Storiche Viareggio arrivano Invader e Orion, le golette dei divi di Hollywood

Tutto pronto a Viareggio, dove dal 17 al 20 ottobre si svolgerà la quindicesima edizione del raduno Vele Storiche Viareggio, organizzato dall’omonima associazione e dal Club Nautico Versilia. In banchina anche le grandi golette ultracentenarie Invader del 1905 e Orion del 1910, sulle quali in passato hanno navigato divi del cinema come Charlie Chaplin, Paulette Goddard, Douglas Fairbanks e Ava Gardner. Ecco il programma con tutti gli appuntamenti.

GALEOTTA FU LA GOLETTA INVADER PER CHARLIE CHAPLIN E PAULETTE GODDARD Eccezionale presenza, dal 17 al 20 ottobre 2019 al 15° raduno Vele Storiche Viareggio, di Invader, goletta aurica in acciaio lunga quasi 50 metri, varata nel 1905 presso il cantiere George Lawley & Son di Boston su progetto dello statunitense Albert Stanton Chesebrough. La barca, oltre a essere stata un vascello da esplorazione, un ricognitore della Coast Guard, una nave scuola e anche un ristorante galleggiante, nel 1926 ha stabilito il record di percorrenza alla Transpacifica, riuscendo a coprire fino a 308 miglia nelle 24 ore. Ha ospitato attori come la canadese Mary Pickford, la “Fidanzatina d’America” del cinema muto moglie dell’attore Douglas Fairbanks (“Il segno di Zorro”, “Robin Hood”, “Il ladro di Bagdad”). Quest’ultimo, nel 1932, girò su Invader a Papeete, il film “Mr. Robinson Crusoe”. La coppia, insieme all’amico Charlie Chaplin, fondò la casa di distribuzione United Artists e proprio a bordo l’attore comico conobbe Paulette Goddard, sua futura moglie con la quale recitò nel film “Tempi moderni” del 1936. Oggi la barca, dopo una serie di interventi, non ultimo il ricondizionamento dell’alberatura in legno a cura del cantiere viareggino Del Carlo, continua a navigare esponendo al vento oltre 1.000 metri quadrati di velatura. Dallo scorso luglio il nuovo comandante di Invader è il sammargheritese Michele Mancini, con precedenti esperienze di regate di vele d’epoca tra Imperia e Saint Tropez. AVA GARDNER E L’OLANDESE VOLANTE A BORDO DI ORION Non è la prima volta che Orion, goletta aurica lunga 50 metri progettata e varata nel 1910 dal cantiere inglese Camper & Nicholson di Gosport, partecipa al raduno di Viareggio. Però questa volta condividerà la scena con la sopracitata Invader, promettendo di dare vita a un’entusiasmante sfida tra due giganti del mare. Nel 1951 Orion è stata impiegata per girare il film “Pandora and the Flying Dutchman”, con protagonista l’attrice americana Ava Gardner. Numerose le scene nelle quali la goletta è ripresa, soprattutto negli ambienti sottocoperta. In epoca più recente Orion ha avuto tra i suoi illustri ospiti l’ex pilota automobilistico brasiliano e grande appassionato di vela Nelson Piquet. L’attuale comandante di Orion è il carrarino Fausto Bugliani, che in occasione del 15° raduno festeggerà i 15 anni di comando della prestigiosa imbarcazione sulla quale aveva iniziato a veleggiare come marinaio a partire dal 1987. Entrambe le golette comporranno il raggruppamento delle cosiddette ‘Centenauriche’, scafi con armo aurico che potrebbero anche avere superato il secolo di età. GLI STUDENTI IN BANCHINA Nella giornata di venerdì 18 ottobre due classi dell’Istituto Tecnico Nautico Artiglio di Viareggio svolgeranno attività marinaresca di banchina a fini didattici e seguiranno le regate in mare insieme a persone con disagi fisici e psichici provenienti dalle cooperative CTE di Firenze e Gente di Mare Vela di Pisa. “Anche quest’anno”, ha dichiarato Riccardo Valeriani, vice presidente Vele Storiche Viareggio, “il piano di ormeggi è stato complesso perchè rispetto alle precedenti edizioni ci attendiamo imbarcazioni più grandi che necessitano di maggiore spazio. Ringraziamo dunque tutte le strutture e i partner, in primis la Guardia Costiera, che nelle settimane precedenti l’evento non ci hanno fatto mai mancare il loro supporto”. “La posizione strategica della nostra sede” ha dichiarato Muzio Scacciati, Consigliere, ‘maestro di casa’ e curatore della classe 5.50 Metri S.I. per il Club Nautico Versilia, “consentirà alle centinaia di membri di equipaggio attesi a Viareggio di sentirsi a proprio agio. Influencers’ reach is huge and so it is not surprising when AT&T decided to go one step ahead to leverage on this rising network by casting digital influencers for their latest cyberbullying social media drama series – Guilty Party.

“Guilty Party” will begin on Tuesday August 29th here on their official Youtube channel which already has over 18k subscribers right now. The full run of the series will be available on DirecTV Now, AT&T’s internet pay-TV streaming service, later on in the year.

This group of young digital stars have a collective following of 38 million fans for this drama series which emphasize on the message of high-school bully. The show will take a fresh approach through a combination of weekly episodes on social media channels and daily vlogs by the main cast – Tiffany Alvord, Kian Lawley, Teala Dunn, Miles McKenna, Alexis G. Zall, Jessie Paege and Manolo Vergara.

The story focuses on Emma (Tiffany Alvord) who was a target of cyberbullying. It appears that she is starting to take revenge on the clique that casts her out and other kids in the school must also face the sins of their past before their secrets tear them apart. But that’s not all. What makes this series a film for the generation is the twist in allowing audience to play the role of detective to discover who is exposing everyone’s secrets using clues posted on the series’ social channels. Given that the main casts are all active digital influencers, fans will be able to comment and engage directly with the stars on YouTube episodes and also their individual social accounts (Variety).
