George Bernard “Bernie” Worrell, Jr. (April 19, 1944 – June 24, 2016) was a keyboardist for the band and a founding member of Parliament-Funkadelic. When Parliament was touring, he toured and worked band Talking Heads and many others. You can hear how he easily integrated with the band perfectly as their sound expanded in the live shows. In 1997, he and the other members of Parliament were inducted into The Rock& Roll Hall of Fame. Bernie was able to work with various bands in different genres and had just the right touch when playing the keyboard and Moog. He was able to release several of his own albums to showcase his own handiwork. Bernie added an extra element to any group he worked with. Bernie was an important figure in funk, rock, and other genres.

Dawn Silva and Lynn Mabry aka The Brides Of Funkenstein in her debut LP out in 1978 produced by George Clinton, horn arrangements by Fred Wesley and Bernard Worrell. My favorite cuts are “Amorous” and “Disco To Go”. The 'Mothership Connection' is here 🤩

On this day in 1944, "The Wizard of Woo" was born in Long Branch, NJ as George Bernard Worrell, Jr. A founding member of Parliament-Funkadelic, he met George Clinton while The Parliaments and Funkadelic were still two different bands. P Funk moved to Detroit in the late 60's and honed their signature sound in the Motor City. He cowrote "Flashlight," "Atomic Dog," "Aqua Boogie," "Cosmic Slop" and many others and was one of the first to incorporate the synthesizer in popular music. He was among the 15 members of P Funk that were inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997. (at Rock & Roll Hall of Fame)
