the thing is though. that I remembered last night just before going to sleep
the concept art isn’t the same, but it’s arguably worse

what gets me about the padawan haircut is that there was absolutely no precedent for it in the original trilogy which means that george lucas just wanted to do that to ewan mcgregor

"The Phantom Menace has a convoluted Political plot"
No. No it doesn't. Star Wars has ALWAYS been political. As far back as a new hope, George based Star Wars about the Politics involving WWII and the Vietnam war.
The Phantom Menace's politics are so simple A FUCKING 4 YEAR OLD can understand it.
The Trade Federation is blockading the Plant of Naboo, because of what they believe to be unfair taxation on trade routes from the Republic.
The Chancellor sends two Jedi to help peacefully resolve the situation.
That's the 1st 5 seconds of the film, and I'm fairly certain 99% of kids at the time understood it PERFECTLY FINE.
Istg fandoms will never take a hint... Smh

Good evening. A short while ago, I was researching about Prana and found out about how it is categorized based on the so-called Vāyus, and how each Vāyu is located in a region of the human body. It is known that Qi was one of the inspirations for the Force. So I wonder if the Vāyus originating from parts of the human body (hearts, lungs, etc.) are not similar to midi-chlorians that help generate the Force. Many fans keep saying how midi-chlorians "ruined the religiosity" of the Force, by making it quantitative, measurable. I would like to know if there is a relationship between midi-chlorians and Vāyus.
Hello! :)
Qi and Prana are a bit more closely related to the energy that is life, they are concepts referring to the rhythm or flow of reality.
Midi-chlorians are often misunderstood, which feeds into a larger pattern of misunderstanding the Force itself. In Lucas' first trilogy, Obi-Wan Kenobi describes the Force as “what gives the Jedi his power. It’s an energy field, created by all living things. It surrounds and penetrates us. It binds the galaxy together.” Fans tend to recite a bastardized version of this, stating, the Force is an “energy created by life, connecting everything.” They usually assert, in the Star Wars galaxy, life has a byproduct of some sort, an energy that pools around them, engulfing and therefore connecting everything. But in truth, when Obi-Wan describes the Force as an "energy field, created by all living things" he basically says, "The ocean is a vast expanse of water, created by all the drops." Because what he says is that all living things, as they are - without any mention of some kind of special ability to ooze some kind of mystic mist out of themselves - together, make up an energy field. In other words, all living things are actually energy – or as Yoda says, "luminous beings" not "crude matter" - and the Force is the field of energy into which they all add up to, or rather, what they are in their undivided wholeness. So, the heart of Star Wars cosmology is, even though it's only said out aloud in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, is the continous cycling between these two sides or dimensions of the Force, of life. It's like water cycling between the dimension of undifferentiated unity, the ocean, and the dimension of multiplicity, the myriad and myriad drops.
In Episode VI, Leia tells Luke, "You have a power I don't understand and could never have" to which he replies, she is wrong: "You have that power, too. In time, you'll learn to use it as I have. The Force is strong in my family." This is the clearest indication that the ability to wield the Force as the Jedi Knights do has to do something with genes and it's not an ability everyone has. This doesn't mean that others don't have the Force within them, it simply means, this is a talent of some sort. In the second trilogy, in The Phantom Menace, this is explored in detail: it's revealed, those who have the ability to wield the Force have a high amount of midi-chlorians in their cells. Qui-Gon Jinn explains, "Midi-chlorians are a microscopic life form that resides within all living cells… We are symbionts with them… without midi-chlorians, life could not exist and we would have no knowledge of the Force." So, we get to know that the most basic units of life are the midi-chlorians, living things who make all other forms of life possible, living at the core of all living cells, allowing them to live, divide and form multicellular life forms, like humans. In Star Wars: The Clone Wars, it's explained that midi-chlorians born in the wellspring of life, which is "the foundation of what connects the living Force and the cosmic Force." The living Force refers to the dimension of myriad and myriad individual life forms - the dimension of drops - whereas the cosmic Force refers to the dimension of the undifferentiated unity of life - the dimension of the ocean.
Problem is that there are many fans for whom the Force was nothing more but a paranormal buzz and cool gobbledygook, i.e. something "vague and mysterious" to their spaceships. For them, the fact that the ability of wielding the Force was explored and explained on the cellular level "ruins the religiosity" of the Force, making it "quantitative, measurable," and it turns the Force into "science."

God, whenever is see a video, or documentary involving the Hype, and later Fallout from The Phantom Menace, it makes me wanna laugh at some of these people.
Seriously, their expectations were WAAAAAY too high.
I honestly commend George Lucas for how he handled the backlash, he did what all creators should do in regards to fandoms.... "Fuck you, it's my franchise, I do what I want with it!"
So often nowadays, we see creators bend to the knees of gross, sweaty, neck bearded losers on the Internet, but George, he ain't fuckin around with those idiots.
He'd tell them off right then and there about how much the misrepresent, and misinterpret his franchise.
Now don't get me wrong, I don't agree with EVERYTHING the guy does, (I still wanna slap him for that DISGUSTING gold Bikini Leia bit in Episode 6), but I hella respect him for sticking it to the fanbrats.

Movie Review | THX 1138 (Lucas, 1971)

THX 1138 presents a horrifying future where everyone is subjected to a sound that starts off real quiet and gets louder and louder… until it blows you away! Just kidding. Actually it’s about a horrifying future where everyone is bald… and a select few have buzz cuts.
This is mostly worth watching for its imagery, capturing the sterile, alienating surfaces of its future through a combination of meticulous production design and cold, unsentimental cinematography. The gaze is often observational, like you’re watching a documentary of the future, but there are moments of audiovisual force. Unfortunately this never really matches the rhythms of the pretty boilerplate dystopian narrative it’s tied to, and unlike in Star Wars, George Lucas doesn’t go through the tropes with much feeling for why they work. Aside from the Donald Pleasance performance, I found this rarely comes alive.
The version I watched on the Criterion Channel I believe is the 2004 director’s cut, which in typical Lucas fashion includes a number of CGI enhancements, including car chase footage that makes the vehicles look like Hot Wheels, and a machine that jacks off Robert Duvall.

🚨 Why "Mary Sue" Characters Repulse Men on a Biological Level 🚨
📌 What Is a "Mary Sue," and Why Does She Trigger the Male Brain?
A "Mary Sue" is a female character who is perfect, flawless, and effortlessly good at everything—usually for no justifiable reason. She never struggles, she never fails, and she somehow always outshines men in every aspect of her story.
Men instinctively reject Mary Sues, not because they “hate strong women” (as feminists screech), but because biological hardwiring makes them recoil from characters that break reality.
Let’s break this sh*t down—scientifically, psychologically, and brutally.
🧠 1️⃣ The Male Brain Seeks Logic, Struggle & Earned Power
Men are biologically wired to respect meritocracy—a system where skills, achievements, and power are earned through effort, hardship, and competence.
🛑 Why Mary Sues Violate This Rule:
They start perfect.
They never struggle meaningfully.
They magically surpass men without any real training.
They have zero personal flaws beyond "being too amazing."
Men reject Mary Sues the same way they reject participation trophies—because neither were f*cking earned.
🚨 Real-World Parallel:
This is why men respect an underdog rising from the bottom (Rocky, Guts from Berserk, John Wick) but feel zero emotional investment in a character who wins everything without effort.
🔬 2️⃣ Evolution: Men Are Wired to Detect Bullsh*t in Social Hierarchies
For millions of years, male survival depended on assessing power dynamics accurately. If you couldn't spot a real leader from a fraud, you died.
🛑 Why Mary Sues Repel Men Instinctively:
✔️ She’s given unearned power → Instinct screams “this is fake.”
✔️ She dominates men without justification → Instinct says “this is unnatural.”
✔️ She’s immune to consequences → Instinct tells men “this is BS.”
When a woman outperforms men effortlessly, the male brain registers it as fraudulent and loses interest.
🚨 Real-World Parallel:
This is why men despise nepotism and privilege without merit. If someone cheats the system (whether it’s in business, combat, or fiction), men instinctively recoil.
⚔️ 3️⃣ Masculine vs. Feminine Power—Why Mary Sues Are Rejected
Men and women have different biological power fantasies.
🔥 Men’s power fantasy = Becoming strong through struggle.
🔥 Women’s power fantasy = Being special without effort.
This is why women tolerate Mary Sues, but men gag at them.
🚨 Compare These Two Characters:
Luke Skywalker (original trilogy): Weak, inexperienced, gets his ass kicked, trains, struggles, and becomes strong over time.
Rey (Disney’s Star Wars): Already powerful, doesn’t train, beats seasoned warriors, faces zero real struggle.
Men love Luke. Men reject Rey. Why? Because Luke's power is EARNED. Rey's is handed to her.
📖 4️⃣ Storytelling & Immersion: Why Mary Sues Break the Experience
The male brain demands logical consistency in storytelling. When characters defy logic, the immersion collapses.
🛑 Mary Sues Make Stories F*cking Unwatchable:
✔️ No risk of failure = No tension.
✔️ No effort = No inspiration.
✔️ No struggle = No f*cking reason to care.
🚨 Real-World Parallel:
This is why men love watching athletes push themselves but feel zero excitement watching rigged fights. If there’s no struggle, no risk, no earned success—it’s pointless.
🔥 5️⃣ The Psychological Root: Men Hate Being Forced to Pretend
Men are rational. They reject illogical or forced ideas.
✔️ Feminism tells men: “Accept that she’s stronger, smarter, and better—no questions.”
✔️ Men’s instincts scream: “This is f*cking fake.”
✔️ Society demands men pretend it makes sense.
Men hate Mary Sues because they hate forced delusions.
🚨 Real-World Parallel:
This is the same reason men reject forced diversity, forced gender politics, and forced narratives. If something has to be forced, it means it’s unnatural.
🛑 6️⃣ The Desexualization of Mary Sues—Why Men Feel Nothing for Them
Another reason men are repulsed by Mary Sues? They are stripped of any genuine femininity.
🔥 Classic heroines men loved: Leia, Ripley, Sarah Connor, Lara Croft—all strong, but still feminine, flawed, and real.
💀 Modern Mary Sues: Captain Marvel, Rey, Batwoman—smug, sexless, cold, and unrelatable.
Men don’t hate strong women—they hate women acting like overpowered, flawless men.
🚨 Real-World Parallel:
This is why men admire real women with depth but find fake, forced “strong female leads” unwatchable.
📌 Why Do Women Defend Mary Sues? (And Why Should They Stop?)
Women relate to Mary Sues because they see them as self-inserts.
✔️ They love the fantasy of being special without effort.
✔️ They project themselves onto the character.
✔️ They see criticism of Mary Sues as criticism of THEM.
But here’s the harsh truth: If you want respect, you need to EARN it.
🚨 Real-World Parallel:
This is why men reject women demanding power without merit. It’s why no one respects “girlboss” entitlement. Earned power = respect. Unearned power = resentment.
🚀 Final Verdict: Mary Sues Are F*cking Cancer to Storytelling
✔️ Men hate them because they violate fundamental biological instincts.
✔️ They break immersion by defying logic and realism.
✔️ They are unrelatable, unearned, and unwanted.
✔️ They are NOT “strong female leads”—they are lazy feminist power fantasies.
If you want to create a female character men respect, make her earn her strength. Anything else is rejected instinctively.
🔥 REBLOG if you’re tired of fake “strong female leads.” 🔄
💬 COMMENT if you think earned power beats forced narratives every time. 🚩🚩🚩
