Read Chapter One Here
***
You knew Dean wasn’t going to react well to your proposal, but this was a tad bit too much.
“The hell you are. If you think I’m letting you seduce Richy Rich over there, you’re sadly mistaken sweetheart,” he spits with angered indignation and some other emotion you couldn't quite pinpoint...
You scoff. “I’m not asking you to let me do anything.” You quirk an irritated brow at him again. “Do I really need to repeat myself again Dean?” You hiss lowly. “I’m going to do it with or-”
“Without my help,” he grumbles. “I know. But just know,” he jabs a finger aggressively in your direction, “that I ain’t happy with this,” his neck vein protrudes and you struggle not to point it out with amusement as he continues. “We can’t just ditch our initial plan! This is crazy Y/n! You-you can’t seduce people. You’re...” he trails off and throws a hand in your direction weakly, seemingly stumped and at a loss for words.
For some reason, his words slice into your heart like a boiling hot knife. Did he think you were so unattractive you wouldn’t be able to seduce people? Though, you don’t let him see it because that'd be a major blow to your pride. So, instead, you opt to hold your chin higher in the air, painting a smug smirk on your face. “No? Watch me.”
You wipe the smirk from your face and replace it with an enraged frown. You smile -albeit somewhat wickedly- mentally at Dean’s deliciously confused face.
“What the hell do you think you’re doin-” he doesn’t finish, eyeing you strangely as you raise your half-full glass of champagne. Then, you promptly throw your drink in his face. He lets out a loud gasp as the cold liquid hits his face and deep down you know you enjoyed doing it.
He wipes his dripping chin with a ‘really?’ expression thrown your way.
You whisper a little to him. “Just play along,” then you slip back into character (although you’re not entirely sure it’s a character anymore) and shove his chest away from you, speaking loudly. “You fucking dick!” Several people eye you as you whirl on your heels, bring back your shoulders and inhale deeply, readying yourself to give the performance of your life.
Because let’s be honest; you weren’t really a seductress. Although you could acknowledge the great power a woman’s beauty and charming personality could have over any man, you just weren’t a master at the art. You’d had a few conquests here and there, worked a few tricks on them, but none of them lasted long. And none of them looked or were nearly as electrifyingly magnetic as Klaus Mikaelson.
As ungracefully as you can, you make your way to the other side of the room where Klaus is. You don’t stop near him, nor do you acknowledge his presence when you feel his scrutinizing gaze bore into you again, only, in what you hope is a subtle manner, cock your head gently to the side, exposing your neck to his sensitive nose.
You watched closely for a reaction out of the corner of your eye. A wince, a flinch, or hell- even a smirk would do! Something to prove him a vampire and your neck being a tantalizing enough snack for him to savor. But alas, he doesn’t crack, only follows you with his gaze as you practically stomp your way towards the door.
Admittedly, you were a bit disappointed at his quite obvious lack of initial interest, but that wasn’t your entire plan so you weren’t that worried.
Throwing a glance at Dean, who stands in the same spot you had left him, fuming, you move to the outside with your gaze, hoping he’d get your meaning. I’m going outside alone, you hope your expression conveyed. He frowns, but that’s all you have time for if your plan was to run smoothly, so you look away, immediately painting a pained look on your face and hoping that Klaus was still looking.
The familiar small shivers of twisted delight were pretty hard to miss though, so you knew he was.
You shake your head to clear the prohibited thoughts and hang it as you step out, closing the door shut behind you.
You wait in the cool night air, becoming more and more unsure of your plan as you plop down on a stoop. Maybe you had misread all the signs. Maybe you hadn’t really hadn’t caught Klaus’s attention and this would be a flop and then you’d have to do it Dean’s way. Just as you begin to worry, though, the door swings open.
Your head snaps to look over your shoulder, slightly startled. Klaus Mikaelson stands there, armed with a perfectly-fitting high-end tailored tux, shiny dress shoes, his irresistible smirk, and mischevious baby blue eyes.
You pretend to deliberately ignore his presence, looking away from him as he comes to sit next to you. You immediately tense up at his proximity. He smelled really good. Like men’s gel and something chypre.
Finally, he speaks. “Hello love.” You immediately fall into a trance at the sound of his voice. He has an English accent that makes his brooding voice velvety soft, although he still has an edge of mischievousness to it. The word ‘love’ rolls easily off his tongue, spilling from pink luscious lips easily.
Hot-fucking-damn.
He speaks again, eyeing you suspiciously. “I noticed you storm out just now. Everything okay?”
You refuse to look at him or shiver at his pet name, speaking in a slightly teasing tone to deflect his question. “Do you normally sneak out of your own party to talk to strangers?”
He chuckles heartedly and you can’t help the delightful tingles that shoot through your very core at the sound. Why the hell was he so attractive for?
“Not commonly, no. Only the beautiful ones induce such a rash reaction from me, I suppose.” He shrugs furtively, sneaking you a flirtatious smirk and making your heart speed up almost immediately.
Wow, he was very blunt. You smile. It was like a breath of fresh air. Especially with Dean and all his mixed signs...
Though you don’t blush at his sly compliment visibly, you very well want to. Silently, you look over at him, an unimpressed look drawn on your face. “Wow, that might actually be the cheesiest pickup line I’ve ever heard anyone give me.”
Klaus studies your face closely and you don’t think you’ve ever felt so exposed. in your life. “For some reason, I highly doubt that, beautiful stranger. Though, I cannot keep calling you that when you already know who I am.”
You smirk up at him, this time genuinely, although you’re sure all your reactions with Klaus have been so far. “Really? Because I was actually thinking it has a particularly nice ring to it.”
He narrows his eyes as if to inform you he knows you’re unwilling to give him your name. You take quick mental notes.
He was very charming. Dangerously charming, even. But...not in a Dean-way. It was another kind of charming. An effortless yet elegantly dark air about him that sucked you in from the moment you’d met him. Dean gave off more of a standoff-ish typical bad boy vibe off that drove girls crazy. You included.
“You seem a tad bit too cocky for your own good, though. What makes you think I know who you are?” you inquire challengingly. If he liked his women fierce, then you were just the gal.
Take that Winchester, you beam mentally as your eyes scan his body language. Light lip licks, quick but not too quick. Slightly raised brows and pointed pelvis, toes. He’s leaning into you in such a way the untrained eye wouldn’t notice and he’s sitting with his legs spread which would normally indicate deep interest, but seeing as you’re sitting on a stoop, could also indicate he’s searching for a comfortable position.
He offers a crooked smile. “Well, for one, you’re at my family’s party and you just said it was mine. How would you know otherwise?” he’s got a sharp ear too, you note. Not as in enhanced-hearing sharp, more like...listening-gains-you-information sharp. That one was far more dangerous.
You chuckle softly then go silent, observing as he begins trailing his eyes over you again, taking his time to take in your appearance. You know he’s noticed you study him. Well, you looked at him from beneath your lashes, so you hoped it looked more like checking him out than reading him (although that was virtually impossible to do). He was lightning quick and the hardest person for you to read yet- aside from Dean.
Klaus was fast -used his charm and wit to hide his true feelings as soon as they surfaced. But Dean...he was hotheaded and used hostility and his macho-man act to hide his feelings. In a way, they were similar. In many ways actually, but in this area, you noticed, they were both attempting to seem more okay than they actually were. And although they had different methods of getting there; they both ultimately had the same goal. Detachment.
There was something awfully calm about being near Klaus. His presence tranquilized your mind and soon, you were scooting closer to him, searching for his warmth. He looks over at your light shuffling with raised brows and you can only hope Dean is watching you in case things go sideways.
Klaus smells really, really good. You inhale subtly at his elegant scent. Dean smelled more masculine, you note. Although both are equally delicious. Wow, you’re a creeper Y/n, you laugh mentally,
You elbow him lightly. “C’mon, out with it. I know you wanna ask.” You pull on your best ‘I-just-broke-up-with-someone-but-am-trying-to-act-cool-in-front-of-a-hot-rich-man’ look.
He looks at you with curiosity and the seemingly everlasting mischievousness ever present. “Whatever do you mean love?” God, the breathiness in his voice is going to be the death of you.
You smirk at him, flipping your perfectly-curled hair over your shoulder. “I know you're wondering who that guy I threw my drink at was.”
Klaus chuckles slightly, turning to you. “Actually I’m not, love. I already know you’re both are lovers of a sort. I do, however, wonder whatever happened to end such an affair.”
You sigh, hoping to seem upset and reluctant. “Well, as probably everyone in the party knows,” you turn to him. “He’s a dick.” Oh, now you really hope he’s watching and hearing.
Klaus hums in contemplation. “And, if you don’t mind me prying love, can I know why you think that?”
You bite your lip in order to hold back an ironic grin at all the thoughts going through your mind right now. So, so many reasons.
You finally settle. “Well, for starters, he’s always lying to me.”
Klaus let’s out an ‘ah’ sound. “Deceit is quite disappointing when you take the other person seriously is it not?”
You breathe out a soft laugh. “That it is.” You don’t wait for him to probe further, already knowing when he opens his mouth and turning to him. “Here’s the thing,” you swallow thickly. “Dean?” You scrunch up your nose. “He doesn’t love me. I think hate is the word that fits his emotions towards me best.”
Klaus frowns. “And why is that?”
You want to burst with a response. Something inside you clicks like you wanted to confess your entire feelings on the situation, but you somehow hold back, remaining cooly composed. It was empowering for some reason. “If I’m honest?” You shrug cooly. “He’s a lying sack of shit that only cares for himself.”
Klaus bursts out laughing and you smile as you confirm your even tone has convinced him you’re completely over your now “ex-boyfriend.” You almost laugh at the notion. As if.
Klaus clears his throat, offering you a light grin. “And I suppose you’ve gained a particular taste for bluntness as a result?” He sounded almost...hopeful.
You can hear the underlying meaning in his words, but cock a suspicious brow, shrugging. “I suppose so, why do you ask?”
He smirks broadly. “Because I’m extremely blunt, love.”
You laugh at his sneaky tease. “Oh? And I suppose that comes in handy when...”
He looks into your eyes, a dark look flickering in his which contradicted the lazy smirk curling the corner of his lip. “When I seduce you.”
You almost beg him to do so as you all but melt into a puddle at his indiscreet words, but then it’s gone, replaced with a joking gesture of his eyebrows. This knocks some sense into you, and you remember the plan. Hard to get. Right.
“Oh, I really doubt you’d be able to do that easily. Don’t think that I’m easy just because I’ve broken up with someone. Emotional vulnerability isn’t my strong suit. I’m more of a let go and move on gal.” Wow, smooth Y/n...Way to shove the idea that you’re over your “boyfriend” and be subtle all at once! You cringe mentally.
But Klaus seems to buy it, a devilish smirk on his face. “Oh, trust me, love,” he leans in and his breath fans your face. “I can be convincing when I want to be.”
You’re almost ashamed to admit that you were quite literally trembling. The effect he had on your body...the fire suddenly stirring in your belly like a hurricane had wreaked havoc on the hottest pits, your curled toes when you look into his eyes to see completely dilated pupils and you both gravitate towards eachother and you’re suddenly so close you could feel his breath on your face. You lean in, getting close to his lips. They brush against eachother and you can feel him suck in a sharp breath but then you switch paths, placing your lips on his cheek tenderly. You let them linger there for a while, taking a whiff of his intoxicating scent one more before leaning slightly away. Your noses brushed as you look longingly at his lips. He himself was staring at your lips like he was about to eat them. He looked so...feral.
As a vampire should.
You lean away, blinking with surprise. That was...incredible. The feeling he gave you...Your heartbeat thumps loudly and your ears and you push down a blush at the fact that he could probably hear it too.
“Uh...it was nice speaking to you Klaus,” you offer a meek smile and get up, attempting to walk away. Well, at least your hard-to-get tactic was still somewhat salvageable. What would he think if you kissed after just having met him?
But Klaus’s firm grasp on your arm stops you mid-walk and you turn to look at him. His eyes are surprisingly pleading. “You haven’t even told me your name, love.”
You smirk up at him, winking. “It’s Blair.” You turn on your heel to walk off but turn back around, giving him a soft smile. “Goodbye, Klaus.”
Then you walk away.
*
“Oh, you have got to be kidding me!” Dean yells, all but slamming his duffel bag onto his bed. He turns to you with enraged green eyes. “You were so clearly into him Y/n! He’s a fucking vampire for God’s sake! What the hell is wrong with you?!”
Dean had met up with you at the motel and was more outraged than you’d ever seen him. He’d walked in, slamming the door behind him and simply wouldn’t drop the subject of you and Klaus “cozying up”. He claimed he was pissed because you were jeopardizing the case.
It was a miracle you’d even gotten that much info from his rantings. You were a little too busy watching his mouth move. Angry Dean was hot as hell, to be honest. Clenched jaw, fisted hands, tense arm muscles that allowed you to see all those years of hunting and protruding veins.
You were indecisive between putting your hands around his dick or his neck.
Somehow you remain calm from your spot on the shitty motel bed, shaking your head. “Dean,” you sigh. “I was only acting the part for the job, okay?”
Dena growls frustratedly, running a hand through his hair and steps closer to your bed. “Yeah? And I assume you were doing the same when you were bad mouthing me too huh?” His voice grows louder at your unresponsiveness. “For the fucking record, I never even fucking agreed to this! You were the one who came up with this dumb ass plan for some reason, and I’m beginning to think you weren’t doing it for the job,” he hisses venomously.
You ignore his insinuation, sitting up on the bed. “Dean, we need to get the facts straight for this. I suspect his family is vampires too so if we’re going to take him and them down, we need the proper preparation. It was acting. Okay? Now drop it.” You were growing more and more irked with his stinky attitude.
He laughs humorlessly “That was not fucking acting Y/n, and you know it. You were turning into a fucking puddle at his feet. Is that how you expect to kill him? By falling in love? Hm?”
Your eyes widen at his claim and the last of your already-strained patience disappears. “Who the fuck mentioned anything about falling in love?!” You stand up, stomping closer to him. “Let’s make something else clear because it seems you just keep getting denser and denser as time goes on.” You stand only a few inches from him and can feel your face red with anger as you poke his chest harshly with every word spilling out of your mouth. “I. Don’t. Fall. In. Love. Dean.” Lies, they’re all lies. You’re in love with him, your mind teases cruelly. You scoff, taking your finger off his chest and letting your arms go limp beside you when he eyes it dangerously. You continue, pushing the heart-wrenching thoughts away.
“And quite frankly, I don’t know why you’re so upset. So what if I was into Klaus? He’s handsome and charming and he’s blunt with his emotions,” you inform with a light growl. Then look him in the eye. “He doesn’t send mixed signals about what he wants. He’s a real man.”
Okay, so might’ve been a bit...low on your part, but you couldn’t help but enjoy the dark look that flashes across Dean’s face as he smiles darkly, knowing it was him you were hinting at.
“I’m sure he fucking is, sweetheart. Seems you won’t have a problem spreading your legs right up for him, hm?” he steps back, the sadistic smile still instilled on his face. “I never doubted you on that aspect though. So go right ahead Y/n. Go be the real you with that rich asshat. Because we all know what that is. A lying, cheating whore.”
You immediately reel back, a pang of immense hurt hitting you like a bullet in the chest. He-he just...he called you a whore. You couldn’t believe it.
Dean’s eyes widen a fraction and a look of regret crosses his face at what he’d said as he opens his mouth.
You don’t give him the chance to speak though, glaring holes into him. You bite out, “Get out.”
He eyes you warily, the hurt look on his face clear as day. “W-what?”
You sniffle, wiping at the tears you hadn’t felt coming violently with the backs of your hands. You feel pathetic crying in front of him like this, but you couldn’t help it. You could feel your heart coming apart at the edges, slowly coming to the center.
Steeling your eyes, you somehow remain cool and collected. “You heard me. Get. Out,” you grit out, barely holding your scarred heart together. He hangs his head and releases a shallow breath.
You almost feel bad about kicking him out of the room this late night at night, but then you remember what he’d just told you.
As he walks out you call to him, feeling like a hurt shit. “Oh and Dean?”
He looks at you with hopeful eyes from the doorway. You want to take that hope and smother it.
You give him a wicked grin. “It’s good you’re leaving so you don’t hear me and Klaus fucking eachother. I think the playing-hard-to-get approach isn’t really working out.”
He clenches his jaw without looking in your direction and walks out, slamming the door so hard behind him the motel room shook.

Title: Irked
Author lokilover9
Chapter 12
Original Imagine: Imagine due to having highly effective telekinesis, Tony Stark seeks you out and hires you. Loki’s been forced to live there by Odin and help on missions when needed, making penance to Midgardians. Prior to moving into the Tower, you learn of his superior and arrogant attitude and upon being introduced, immediately dislike him. Particularly because he looks at you like your his next meal.
Warnings: NoneLoki hadn’t planned any actual ‘steps’ towards expressing fake affection to Shandi, but wasn’t about to tell her that. Especially since in the short time he’d known her, one to show it genuinely had developed. From where, he hadn’t a clue, but spending every moment with her was making it harder to ignore, alongside his ever growing lust. Perhaps these imagined ‘steps,’ could present opportunities to express that affection. He’d still be mischievous of course, but considering whom they were about to approach, he thought putting her mind at ease would be nice. Little did he know the bit of ‘education’ he’d soon receive.
A few steps further along the path, Shandi suddenly darted behind a large tree and Loki followed. “What are you doing?”
“Why am I to act nervous of my surroundings and what is step two?” She whispered.
Loki placed a hand on her belly and whispered into her ear. “So you appear so amidst crowds at present. I’ll explain more later. Step two and any beyond, would be simple shows of affection any married couple might express. Is that alright with you?”
She nodded and he offered his arm again. “Good, then come. They’ve been watching and time is of essence.” Once back on the path, he continued. “If trust is still your issue, did harm come to you when cooled with my magic?”
“No.”
“Well then?” He rubbed her hand. “No tricks Shandi, I promise. It’s important we remain focused.”
“Thank you, I agree.”
A moment of silence fell between them.
“Unless you try kicking me in the chin again, in which case, you’ll be tossed up a tree.”
“What?”
“I kid you not. I’ve done it to Thor, naked and for much less.”
She looked away, stifling a smirk as they entered within hearing range of Beth and Alice.
“Stepping into character wife in three..two..one. “I must praise you Lizzy. You’re doing wonderful amidst this little crowd.”
“I guess so. Could we go home after this?”
“Let’s have lunch first and return to that maternity shop you liked?” He glanced casually in Beth’s direction. “Wait, isn’t that the owner? Come.”
Shandi hesitated. “Clifford.”
“It’s alright darling, you’re safe. Let’s find out if she’s open, hm?” He smiled on approach. “I beg your pardon but, aren’t you Beth?”
She stood, as did Alice. “Yes I am. Hello again.”
After further introductions, they offered Shandi a seat, but she declined, using the lunch excuse.
“Nice to meet you.” Said Alice. “Are you new to town?”
“We are.” Said Loki.
She smiled, eyeing Shandis belly. “Then welcome to all three of you.”
“Thank you.” Shandi replied. “We’re looking to buy here once our baby comes.”
“Good choice. It’s a great place for raising children.”
“We’re thinking the same.” Said Loki.
“Hopefully you found somewhere nice to stay in the meantime.” Said Beth.
“Fortunately we have. We’re renting Mr. Preston’s place.”
“Ahhh, Thomas’s handsome stone dwelling.” Said Alice.
Beth chuckled at her heavy sigh. “As if it’s the house you reference.”
Alice playfully dismissed her comment. “I know nothing of which you speak my friend.” Loki and Shandi smirked as she continued. “I heard he did a great job restoring that old place, then ran off to explore the world. Silly man. Are you working in town too Clifford?”
He smiled down at Shandi. “Fortunately for my lovely wife, I’m able to work from home.”
“How nice. So you’ve your own company then?”
Shandi glanced nervously over her shoulders as a small group of people passed behind them and as a comforting gesture, Loki reached for the curve of her spine, and began caressing there.
“Yes, I’m in Advertising. Are you ladies Natives?”
Back and forth, his long fingers, gently glided over the fabric of her shirt as they replied. Friends since high school, they revealed attending college together, marrying and raising their families there. Then Alice mentioned the upcoming fair, explained what it entailed and enthusiastically recommend they attend.
All the while, a throbbing sensation had been escalating in Shandis core and Loki became aware of it, when catching the subtle scent of her arousal. ‘Oh my. Have I discovered a secret erogenous zone Pet?’ Inquiring more of the fair, he continued and her scent strengthened. ‘Oooh, have I ever.’
Shandi was considering face planting into the nearby stream, when Beth unknowingly saved her. “Are you sure you don’t wish to sit? You look over heated Luv.”
He stopped then, inwardly amused by the instant relief on her face. “Are you Elizabeth?”
“I..erm…”
“You do look in need of a drink.” Said Alice.
‘Yeah, some stiff shots of Vodka.’ Thought Shandi.
Loki took her hand. “We should go then, hm?” Shandi only batted her lashes at him and he turned to Beth. “Might we ask what time are you’re open until?”
“Seven.”
“Then please excuse us ladies, it’s been a pleasure. Perhaps we’ll see you around town again Alice?”
“I’m certain.” She replied. “I visit Beth’s shop almost daily.”
He smirked as they started on their way. “Heat that bothersome again?”
“Kinda genius, you’re magic wore off.”
“Are you sure?”
“Could we just find some air conditioning please?”
****** Once they were a fair distance away, Beth addressed Alice. “That’s the couple I told you about. You should have seen her grip on that woman’s wrist and how quick he moved to protect her.”
“They must be the people Laura mentioned too. Poor thing. I wonder why she’s like that?”
“Me too.” Said Beth. ****** Upon finding a little restaurant with a quiet corner table, Shandi gulped down a glass of water, fanning herself with a menu.
Loki watched with amusement. “Perhaps a skinny dip in the pool ‘would’ do you some good?”
“Skinny dipping is not a hobby of mine, thank you.”
“Shame, you may enjoy it should you ever try. I find it invigorating.”
She started pouring another glass of water. “Are you insinuating you’ve done that in the tower?”
“Only when all are asleep, of course. Like when you’ve been here.” She stared at him, and when it overflowed, he tilted the decanter upwards. “First your tongue vanished in the park and now this. Is something on your mind Lizzy?”
“No it didn’t. I was just sweltering because..nevermind. I told you why already.” She glanced around the room. “I wonder where our waiter disappeared to?”
Loki suddenly whistled loudly in the direction of the bar. “Yes, hello? My pregnant wife is famished, might we get some service please?”
Shandi wanted to crawl under the table. “I cannot believe you just did that.”
After lunch, they returned to Beth’s shop but didn’t linger as only the clerk was present.
“We should call Tony.” Loki stated in the car. “I’m sure he’ll be pleased with our encounter.”
“Yes, but let me shower quickly first? I could peel this disguise from me.”
Wise decision.’ He thought. ‘Before I tear it from you myself.’ Her scent had been making his cock twitch since the park and confined in the car with her again, it was driving him crazy. “Interesting to learn Shamus will be at the fair, don’t you think?”
“Even more so, why wasn’t Tony informed by S.H.I.E.L.D.?” She asked. “They knew Alice was attending.”
“True. I’m sure he’ll be looking into it.”
Once at back the house, Shandi had just removed her wig when Loki knocked on her bedroom door. “I’ll be in the pool when you’re done.”
“Okay.”
“It’s a great day for skinny dipping!”
He darted off and Shandis eyes widened as his footsteps faded. “No..he wouldn’t, it’s daytime.“ Second later. "Oh lord, yes he would. I worked hard getting that image out of my head and he just hurles it back in there? Dammit.” Once naked, she tossed her wet maternity underwear into the ensuite sink. “Man, what a relief.” Then she eyed the closet door. “Speaking of, I could use my Hitachi and he won’t hear a thing.” Moments later, she plugged it in, flicked the switch and nothing. Then she tried the plug in the bathroom and still nothing. “You gotta be kidding me. How can two vibrators conk out on me in the same week? Great. Now I’m stuck going manual until returning to Manhattan.”
After a few laps, Loki entered her room invisible. ‘Mmm..I suspected you may indulge yourself.’ He watched as she writhed, teasing her squelching flesh, moaning louder and louder. ‘That’s it Pet, let me hear you.’ She came, soaking her fingers and a deep inhale had his eyes rolling back. ‘Fuuuck. What is it with you and your damn scent woman?’
Once ready, Shandi texted him and was pouring herself some wine, when he leaned into the doorway behind her.
“She texts me. Pshh. I don’t know why you’ve such an aversion to seeing me naked Lizzy. We are married, after all.”
“Very funny. Will you go put some clothes on please?”
She froze as he slowly approached, slinking a hand around the bottle. “Shall I put this back?”
“Yes, thank you.”
Passing behind her, he nudged her into the island with his hip and she felt his bathing suit.
“Seriously? I can’t believe I fell for that.”
He chuckled. “I can.”
“Does the word brat mean anything to you?”
“Of course, life would be monotonous if it didn’t.” He headed up the stairs. “Fair warning though, I wasn’t lying about skinny dipping while you sleep.”
Shandi gulped down her entire glass of wine. ‘I wonder if it’s too late to switch places with Nat?’
Fifteen minutes later, they had Tony on speaker. “Well damn Mr. and Mrs. Bradshaw, this is good news.”
“Yes and we learned from Alice, she and Beth aren’t the only ones selling items at the fair.”
“Really Cactus? What a concept. More than one person selling items at a fair?” A slap was heard before Tony spoke again. “Holy Amazon woman, calm yourself!”
“Must you be an arse? You haven’t been on the phone five minutes.”
“I was kidding!” Said Tony. “You’ve been taking ninja lessons from Nat again, haven’t you.”
Loki smiled then. “Good afternoon Pepper.”
“Hey guys. How do you like the house?”
“I love it.” Said Shandi.
“Virginia my love, maybe you ladies could talk domestic things later?”
“Domestic things? I know you and I will be talking later.”
Tony ignored her. “You were saying Cactus?
“Shamus will be selling antiques there.”
“Whaaat? Why didn’t S.H.I.E.L.D know of this? Idiots. Perfect opportunity for you to make friends though.”
“Indeed. I was thinking a valuable purchase could aid as a conversation opener.”
“Good idea. He does like people with money.”
Loki’s brow arched. “Hang on, did you just pay me a compliment?”
A disgruntled mumble expelled from Tony. “I simply agreed with you and I wouldn’t get used to it. Have you guys worked on refining your characters yet? It’s important you have matching stories.”
Loki kept teasing. “Why, still the beat of my pitter pattering heart Tin Man. Does this mean we’re engaged?”
Tony became serious. “Do I have to suit up Cactus? Cause I’ll come over there and… Scuse?…What the…”
A scuffle was heard, then Pepper took over. “Anthony my love, the bar is out of ice. Be a dear and get some from the kitchen?”
“Jarvis my friend, can you bring Miss Potts some ice?”
“I beg your pardon Sir?”
“Wait. How’s about I suit up on Miss Potts and get my phone back.”
“I wouldn’t recommend that Sir.”
By this point, Loki and Shandi were struggling not to laugh, but Peppers next words and her tone almost did it.”
“I’m warning you Stark.”
“I recommend you listen Sir.”
“Yes, thank you very much for the loyalty Jarvis.” Walking to the elevator, he shouted. “Don’t forget what we talked about in the truck Cactus!”
Pepper waited for the door to close. “He has been indulging as we weren’t expecting your call, but you boys could play nicer Loki.”
“My apologies Virginia.”
“I’m not sure who the bigger brat is sometimes, you or him.”
“I’ll bet I could tell you.” Said Shandi.
Pepper laughed. “Match up your stories guys and please tell Nat and Clint about Alice? I need to call Phil regarding Shamus.”
“Certainly.”
“Thanks, good luck.”
The call ended and Shandi eyed Loki. “What did you guys talk about in the truck?”
“You know, guy stuff.”
She watched in awe then as a green mist appeared from his hand, materializing paper and pens onto the counter. “Shall we work in the ‘entertainment’ room?”
“Uhh sure, but don’t you mean the wreck room?”
“You Midgardians and your odd names for things. The room isn’t wrecked, it’s perfectly fine.”
She dead panned as he left, then poured another glass of wine. ‘I wish I had that gift. I could conjure up a new Hitachi.’
Loki shouted from down the hall. “Coming Lizzy?”
A heavy sigh escaped her. ‘I’m going to pretend he didn’t say that.’

his demons (recap)
mun: hey guys I thought I would give a recap before I post part six of his demons the story that was inspired by @luvroffictionalcharacters now this might be edited a little and some parts are freshly added but I hope you enjoy
Joker smiled as he watched his henchmen load up the truck for a robbery, this time was different though they weren’t robbing a bank they were robbing a business man. This man had recently betrayed joker so as the clown king of crime he had to set an example by teaching this ass a lesson, joker smiled wide when he thought of what was planned for today but his smile faded as he felt something was missing. With a snarl he shook that feeling knowing exactly what it was, the king was lonely and he needed a queen but he wasn’t in the mood to play matchmaker he had hell to pay. “Boss everything is ready we leave on your signal” frost said to the green haired man who smiled at him, “tell the boys to wreck the place,” frost looked concerned as he thought joker would have surely wanted to come with them. “But boss your-” joker interrupted his right hand man with a growl “you pain in the ass, fine we’ll take the limo” he said grabbing his coat and throwing it on, he really wasn’t in the mood but maybe breaking this guy’s legs would help him lighten up. Joker and frost got in the limo and drove with the rest of joker’s squad to his ex-partner’s office building, as joker watched his henchmen work he smiled watching all the fearful faces and glares of hate mixed with disgust. Gleefully he walked to the elevator taking it to the top floor to pay a visit to his once proud ally, once there joker walked down the hall and was about to open his office door when he heard a scream. He turned around to see a woman, probably his Secretary, standing there shaking in fear; joker smiled admiring her curves and how her dress hugged them just as tight as he wanted to. Putting a finger to his rose red lips he hushed her slowly walking closer “shhhh we wouldn’t want to alert the press now would we”, he purred licking his lips “now sweetheart tell daddy your name” joker watched her face change from a feeling of fear to disgust “what no you creep leave me alone” she said before throwing the papers she was holding at him and running to the fire escape and down the stairs. Joker growled punching the wall until his hand started to bleed, he snarled watching the blood flow before turning around to walking into the man’s office. He burst through the door “look if you don’t want your death to be slow and painful you’re going to speak fast and tell me what i want to know. understood” the man put his hands up and nodded “good, now where’s the file for your sweet Secretary” he pointed to the filing cabinet “top draw her names-” joker interrupted the man tired of hearing his stupid whiny voice “shut the fuck up!” taking out his gun joker whacked him over the head with it making the man bleed and shake from fear. As joker stood there he read her file finding her full name her address her work history everything, a dark smile spread across his face but his happiness was interrupted by the man trying to speak again “didn’t i tell you to shut your cock sucking mouth” joker said before emptying his gun into the man’s head watching him bleed out all over his desk with a smile. Joker laughed as he walked out of the office and to the elevator “now it’s time to find my queen” he said with a smirk as he called for frost, “hey frosty there’s a girl in the building its his Secretary she should be on her way down, don’t let her leave” joker said with a wide grin that would put the devil to shame “I have plans to make her mine”. Joker hummed a song to himself as he rode the elevator down to the lobby, he had the biggest smile on his face with his cane in one hand and his gun in the other. His blood still flowed from him punching the wall, it stained his shirt as he walked toward the entrance. Once out of the elevator he could see frost and the secretary and if it was even possible his smile widen into a devilish grin, “hello baby,” joker said watching her squirm in frosts grip “what do you want with me you freak” she said angrily glaring at him. joker chuckled at her anger she was cute when she was mad sadly her attitude towards him was a bit off putting but he was still a bit turned on by the fact that she wasn’t afraid of him, leaning in close he looked into her eyes seeing a spark of curiosity “what I want from you is simple, I’ll give you the world in return for your company and loyalty” joker smiled as she looked at him with wide eyes. As the three stood there in silence jokers patience had begun to run thin as she just stared at him like he was speaking a different language, “I’m offering you Gotham on a platter and your just going to stand there,” joker looked at her confused as she just stared at him with bewilderment “that’s it you have no choice, frost take her to the car”. as frost took her away she stuttered and protested demanding to know why but joker just ignored her for now he would deal with her later, taking a gun from one of his henchmen he shot straight up getting the attention of everyone in the room “listen up the cops are on their way here when they get here I want you to tell them who was here and not what happened if I hear word that any of you told what I did here today ill rip out your throats out”. joker snarled these people looked genuinely scared he hated the look of fear in their eyes maybe because he’s had that look many times before but if that’s what had to be done to get his way then so be it, he turned slightly sighing as he heard sirens “I know these pigs all too well” he smiled before running out to the car anxious to play with his new pet. The ride home was expectantly quiet and a little awkward but joker didn’t mind, he probably wouldn’t have been able to pay attention to anything she said anyway. He just sat there smiling wide his cane in one hand and his gun holstered his legs crossed, the blood from his hand was dripping on the seat and his face seemed to express that he was in deep thought. He sat there admiring her loveliness and all her glory from her crossed legs to her sweet lips joker was mesmerized, but the thing he could seem to get off his mind was her frame and the way her dress hugged her curves just as tight as he wanted to. Joker licked his lips hungrily thinking of all the dirty things he could do to those curves, he purred watching her eyes as she looked around the at her surroundings finding it funny how she looked everywhere but at him. Frowning he looked confused and was about to speak but Frost stopped the car as they pulled up to the mansion, joker got out and frost opened her door letting her out of the car. He gave frost a look that meant for him to take a hike for a while so he could be alone with her, frost nodded getting back in the car and driving off leaving the two alone “ladies first” joker purred watching as she sashayed to the door and inside with him close behind. “Home sweet home” he said joyously as She looked away rolling her eyes “what do you want freak why am I here” she said looking angrily at him, he looked at her his face serious and his eyes pleading as he spoke “I want….I need you to give me something money can’t buy and not even the best thieves can steal”. as she looked at him her expression changed from anger to confusion “I want you, see as the king of crime I do get very lonely and you can change that” he caressed her arm and she pulled away looking at him with disgust “don’t touch me you crazy bastard” she said through gritted teeth, joker felt like he had just gotten stabbed like all he asked for was too much and he deserved to be treated that way after all he did kidnap her. Joker thought maybe if he was different she would have reacted nicer maybe if he wasn’t crazy she would be more interested in him, His eyes looked sad and he turned his back on her walking away “your dismissed I’ll tell frost to take you home” he said before walking into his office and locking the door behind him. he snarled taking off his jacket throwing it across the room he was so angry with himself feeling so frustrated with what he was, joker ran his bloody hand through his green hair and sat down in his chair taking a diamond necklace out his pocket “she thinks I’m a freak maybe if I wasn’t this way she would…” Joker stopped getting an idea as to go he could win her over. A smile spread across his face as the clown king giggled to himself holding the diamonds in his bleeding hand he walked over to the mirror, he looked at his face seeing how different and unnatural it was soon his giggles turned into howling laughter at the dark and evil trick his insane mind came up with. Joker sat in his office deep in thought as he tried to build up the courage for what he was about to do, it had been three days since he seen her and a lot has changed since they saw each other last. Joker had made the preparations for his plan and now all he had to do was put it into action which for him was unfortunately the hard part, his hands shook as was about to take a sip of his drink but sat the glass back down on his desk instead. Joker sighed running his hands through his hair as he stood to his feet walking over to the balcony, as he leaned on the railing he noted the unusual amount of silence that he wasn’t normally used to. Earlier that day He sent all the henchmen home except for frost who insisted on staying and helping joker which he was very happy for because without frost joker would be a mess, He growled lowly wondering how the hell one woman could make him so fucking pissed at himself and make him feel so weak with just the bat of an eyelash she could have him on his knees and he hated that but he needed her. Frost walked into joker’s office with the package he asked him to pick up “is everything ready?” Joker asked his right hand man, frost nodded “we leave when you’re ready sir” frost said with a small smile before walking out of the office. Joker walked over to the gift he had bought for her which was a cute teddy bear holding a jewelry box peeking into the box joker saw the ring he specially picked out for her, a smile spread across his face as he admired the gift but his smile faded as he looked towards the mirror. Walking closer joker looked at himself in the mirror all of his distinctive features gone; all his tattoos, his green hair, his red lips, hell even his dark eyes that struck fear into anyone who looked into them were gone. Since having the genius plan of if i look normal maybe she would like me joker had called up an old friend who owed him a favor and told him his plan, even though he had his doubt’s joker still went through with his plan to win her over. It took a while to fix him and for him to get used to his new look but once he took a walk down the street and no one screamed his name no cops tried to arrest him he knew his plan would work, joker smiled as he looked in the mirror he could fool anyone maybe even batman. But the real question was could he fool her, that’s a question he wished he had the answer to “this plan is fool proof” he said to himself before grabbing the gift and leaving his office. Frost was waiting for him outside “frosty take the day off I’ll call you in the morning” he said as he got into the driver’s seat, “yes boss” frost said as he went to the garage to pick up his car and drive home. Joker chuckled as he sped off “i can’t wait to play with my new toy” he said happily, he was anxious to see her reaction but even more anxious to get what he has been craving all this time, a playmate. Joker sat quietly in the corner of the coffee shop waiting for his newest obsession to walk in, he checked the time knowing that she would be here right about now he had frost follow her and make sure she was on her way here. He tried to wait but he was getting impatient now he was getting restless and uneasy, for the first time since his one bad day he started to doubt himself and worry about what would happen. Joker laughed and chuckled to himself this one girl just this one girl was changing him in ways years and years of therapy never could, he smiled looking at the cute teddy bear holding the box he had brought for her but soon his smile faded. Who am I kidding he thought to himself this would never work she’s too smart she will know who I am and hate me she will think I’m a monster and that I’m crazy, he growled snarling but his eyes showed sadness he crushed the glass he was holding until it cracked and broke into pieces making his hand bleed. “Oh my are you alright sir” said a worried waitress said as she rushed over to help him which he didn’t physically respond to, for a moment he forgot where he was and what or who he was pretending to be “oh yeah I’m fine just an accident, I’m so sorry” he faked like he cared about the stupid glass and his bleeding hand but in reality he could care less all he wanted was her. But things don’t always go your way he told himself cause you’re a fucking psychotic monster who kills people you don’t deserve her or any love for that matter, his mind was a battle field and he was on the losing side with no hail Mary’s and no back up no one to help him until she walked in. He stood up and watched her every move mesmerized by her beauty that is until the annoying waitress’ dumb voice demanded his attention, “sir please let me see your hand” she said and he just ignored her as he would anyone else and grabbed the bear with his other hand to run to her. He smiled at her as she said her order to the man behind the counter that repeated it back to make sure he got it right “excuse me miss”, joker shocked himself with how small and meek his voice was as he spoke to her “I noticed you came to this coffee shop and I really,” he stopped wondering if he should finish that sentence. He forced himself to speak and tell her how he felt “I really like you and would like to get to know you,” this was worse than any torture he could do, she smiled at him which confused him for a moment until she spoke “I have some free time now if you want to have lunch” he sighed with relief and looked down at the bear in his hands. “Oh and I brought you a gift, I hope you don’t mind” he shrugged and gave her the bear with the box which made her smile widen, “aw thank you, what’s in the box” she asked “open it” he said looking her in the eyes and she bit her lip. She took off the red ribbon and opened the box then gasped at the beautiful sight, her jaw dropped as she looked shocked at the diamond necklace and earring set inside it. “Oh my, this is beautiful, I can’t accept this gift” she said humbly and he frowned a bit afraid she didn’t like it, “but it’s for you, I had it custom made” he furrowed his brows and looked at her with sad baby blue eyes. She closed the box and hugged him tightly “thank you so much this is amazing” she said politely, he smiled and she turned as the lady brought her coffee order “thank you” she said and took them to go cup. He chuckled at her polite little voice and her kind ways “what’s so funny she said to him with a smile bright enough to make the sun jealous, he shook his head and his smile widened "nothing, it’s just you’re so nice and polite” she giggled and jokers heart melted “well what can I say I was raised to be kind” she smirked. Joker was surprised this was working and it was going so well which also surprised him even more, she looked down and almost screamed “oh god your hand its bleeding” he looked at his hand which had created a small puddle on the floor. He put both his hands up in surrender showing his palms “hey it’s okay It was just an accident no need to worry”, she looked at him scared and confused as to why he wasn’t panicking about his hand “okay how about we meet some other time cause I really think you should get that checked out” she said lowly. He sighed not wanting to leave her this was going so we’ll but he also didn’t want to worry her or risk getting his cover blown cause he didn’t care about his health or wellbeing, he nodded and looked down at his hand as it bled “okay how about Saturday evening at primantis” she said sweetly “okay, I can do that” he faked a smile and she rubbed his arm. He almost purred as she softly and tenderly touched him “see you Saturday? Uh what’s was your name?” She asked curiously, he smiled “joe, Joe carr” he gave a small chuckle and she shook his other hand “well it’s nice to meet you Joe”. She turned and left the coffee shop and joker sighed thinking maybe this idea could work but his thoughts were interrupted by the waitress, “sir do you need a towel for that” she asked helpfully but he and he shook his head “I’ll go to a doctor or something” he said hopefully convincingly. He quickly walked out looking around to find the car that frost was in, turning to the left he heard a honk from a black truck and he knew it was frost so he rushed to the car and got in. “So?” Frost asked looking at joker in the rear view mirror “we have a date Saturday evening at primantis” he said getting the stuff to stop the bleeding, frost smiled and started the car “it went well I’m assuming” joker nodded “enough for me to see her Saturday”.

CHAPTER 12 Loki hadn't planned any actual ‘steps’ towards expressing fake affection to Shandi, but wasn't about to tell her that. Especially since in the short time he'd known her, one to show it genuinely had developed. From where, he hadn't a clue, but spending every moment with her was making it harder to ignore, alongside his ever growing lust. Perhaps these imagined ‘steps,’ could present opportunities to express that affection. He'd still be mischievous of course, but considering whom they were about to approach, he thought putting her mind at ease would be nice. Little did he know the bit of ‘education’ he’d soon receive. A few steps further along the path, Shandi suddenly darted behind a large tree and Loki followed. “What are you doing?” “Why am I to act nervous of my surroundings and what is step two?” She whispered. Loki placed a hand on her belly and whispered into her ear. “So you appear so amidst crowds at present. I'll explain more later. Step two and any beyond, would be simple shows of affection any married couple might express. Is that alright with you?” She nodded and he offered his arm again. “Good, then come. They've been watching and time is of essence.” Once back on the path, he continued. “If trust is your issue, did harm come to you when cooled with my magic?” “No.” “Well then?” He rubbed her hand. “No tricks Shandi, I promise. It's important we remain focused.” “Thank you, I agree.” A moment of silence fell between them. “Unless you try kicking me in the chin again, in which case, you’ll be tossed up a tree.” “What?” “I kid you not. I've done it to Thor, naked and for much less.” She looked away, stifling a smirk as they entered within hearing range of Beth and Alice. “Stepping into character wife in three..two..one. “I must praise you Lizzy. You're doing wonderful amidst this little crowd.” “I guess so. Could we go home after this?” “Let's have lunch first and return to that maternity shop you liked?” He glanced casually in Beth's direction. “Wait, isn't that the owner? Come.” Shandi hesitated. “Clifford.” “It's alright darling, you're safe. Let's find out if she's open, hm?” He smiled on approach. “I beg your pardon but, aren't you Beth?” She stood, as did Alice. “Yes I am. Hello again.” After further introductions, they offered Shandi a seat, but she declined, using the lunch excuse. “Nice to meet you.” Said Alice. “Are you new to town?” “We are.” Said Loki. She smiled, eyeing Shandis belly. “Then welcome to all three of you.” “Thank you.” Shandi replied. “We’re looking to buy here once our baby comes.” “Good choice. It's a great place for raising children.” “We’re thinking the same.” Said Loki. “Hopefully you found somewhere nice to stay in the meantime.” Said Beth. “Fortunately we have. We're renting Mr. Preston's place.” “Ahhh, Thomas’s handsome stone dwelling.” Said Alice. Beth chuckled at her heavy sigh. “As if it's the house you reference.” Alice playfully dismissed her comment. “I know nothing of which you speak my friend.” Loki and Shandi smirked as she continued. “I heard he did a great job restoring that old place, then ran off to explore the world. Silly man. Are you working in town too Clifford?” He smiled down at Shandi. “Fortunately for my lovely wife, I'm able to work from home.” “How nice. So you've your own company then?” Shandi glanced nervously over her shoulders as a small group of people passed behind them and as a comforting gesture, Loki reached for the curve of her spine, and began caressing there. “Yes, I'm in Advertising. Are you ladies Natives?” Back and forth, his long fingers, gently glided over the fabric of her shirt as they replied. ‘Oooh, have I ever.’ Shandi was considering face planting into the nearby stream, when Beth unknowingly saved her. “Are you sure you don't wish to sit? You look over heated Luv.” He stopped then, inwardly amused by the instant relief on her face. “Are you Elizabeth?” “I..erm…” “You do look in need of a drink.” Said Alice. ‘Yeah, some stiff shots of Vodka.’ Thought Shandi. Loki took her hand. “We should go then, hm?” Shandi only batted her lashes at him and he turned to Beth. “Might we ask what time are you're open until?” “Seven.” “Then please excuse us ladies, it's been a pleasure. Perhaps we’ll see you around town again Alice?” “I'm certain.” She replied. “I visit Beth's shop almost daily.” He smirked as they started on their way. “Heat that bothersome again?” “Kinda genius, you're magic wore off.” “Are you sure?” “Could we just find some air conditioning please?” ****** Once they were a fair distance away, Beth addressed Alice. “That's the couple I told you about. You should have seen her grip on that woman's wrist and how quick he moved to protect her.” “They must be the people Laura mentioned too. Poor thing. I wonder why she's like that?” “Me too.” Said Beth. ****** Upon finding a little restaurant with a quiet corner table, Shandi gulped down a glass of water, fanning herself with a menu. Loki watched with amusement. “Perhaps a skinny dip in the pool ‘would’ do you some good?” “Skinny dipping is not a hobby of mine, thank you.” “Shame, you may enjoy it should you ever try. I find it invigorating.” She started pouring another glass of water. “Are you insinuating you've done that in the tower?” “Only when all are asleep, of course. Like when you've been here.” She stared at him, and when it overflowed, he tilted the decanter upwards. “First your tongue vanished in the park and now this. Is something on your mind Lizzy?” “No it didn't. I was just sweltering because..nevermind. I told you why already.” She glanced around the room. “I wonder where our waiter disappeared to?” Loki suddenly whistled loudly in the direction of the bar. “Yes, hello? My pregnant wife is famished, might we get some service please?” Shandi wanted to crawl under the table. “I cannot believe you just did that.” After lunch, they returned to Beth's shop but didn't linger as only the clerk was present. “We should call Tony.” Loki stated in the car. “I'm sure he'll be pleased with our encounter.” “Yes, but let me shower quickly first? I could peel this disguise from me.” Wise decision.’ He thought. ‘Before I tear it from you myself.’ Her scent had been making his cock twitch since the park and confined in the car with her again, it was driving him crazy. “Interesting to learn Shamus will be at the fair, don't you think?” “Even more so, why wasn't Tony informed by S.H.I.E.L.D.?” She asked. “They knew Alice was attending.” “True. I'm sure he'll be looking into it.” Once at back the house, Shandi had just removed her wig when Loki knocked on her bedroom door. “I'll be in the pool when you're done.” “Okay.” “It's a great day for skinny dipping!” He darted off and Shandis eyes widened as his footsteps faded. “No..he wouldn't...oh lord, yes he would. I worked hard getting that image out of my head and he just hurles it back in there? Dammit.” Once naked, she tossed her wet maternity underwear into the ensuite sink. “What a relief.” Then she eyed her closet door. “Speaking of, I could use my Hitachi and he won't hear a thing.” Moments later, she plugged it in, flicked the switch and nothing. Then she tried the plug in the bathroom and still nothing. “You gotta be kidding me. How can two vibrators conk out on me in the same week? Great. Now I'm stuck going manual until returning to Manhattan.” After a few laps, Loki entered her room invisible. ‘Mmm..I suspected you may indulge yourself.’ He watched as she writhed, teasing her squelching flesh, moaning louder and louder. ‘That's it Pet, let me hear you.’ She came, soaking her fingers and a deep inhale had his eyes rolling back. ‘Fuuuck. What is it with you and your damn scent woman?’ Once ready, Shandi texted him and was pouring herself some wine, when he leaned into the doorway behind her. “She texts me. Pshh. I don't know why you've such an aversion to seeing me naked Lizzy. We are married, after all.” “Very funny. Will you go put some clothes on please?” She froze as he slowly approached, slinking a hand around the bottle. “Shall I put this back?” “Yes, thank you.” Passing behind her, he nudged her into the island with his hip and she felt his bathing suit. “Seriously? I can't believe I fell for that.” He chuckled. “I can.” “Does the word brat mean anything to you?” “Of course, life would be monotonous if it didn't.” He headed up the stairs. “Fair warning though, I wasn't lying about skinny dipping while you sleep.” Shandi gulped down her entire glass of wine. “I wonder if it's too late to switch places with Nat?” Fifteen minutes later, they had Tony on speaker. “Well damn Mr. and Mrs. Bradshaw, this is good news.” “Yes and we learned from Alice, she and Beth aren't the only ones selling items at the fair.” “Really Cactus? What a concept. More than one person selling items at a fair?” A slap was heard before Tony spoke again. “Holy Amazon woman, calm yourself!” “Must you be an arse? You haven't been on the phone five minutes.” “I was kidding!” Said Tony. “You've been taking ninja lessons from Nat again, haven't you.” Loki smiled then. “Good afternoon Pepper.” “Hey guys. How do you like the house?” “I love it.” Said Shandi. “Virginia my love, maybe you ladies could talk domestic things later?” “Domestic things? I know you and I will be talking later.” Tony ignored her. “You were saying Cactus? “Shamus will be selling antiques there.” “Whaaat? Why didn't S.H.I.E.L.D know of this? Idiots. Perfect opportunity for you to make friends though.” “Indeed. I was thinking a valuable purchase could aid as a conversation opener.” “Good idea. He does like people with money.” Loki's brow arched. “Hang on, did you just pay me a compliment?” A disgruntled mumble expelled from Tony. “I simply agreed with you and I wouldn't get used to it. Have you guys worked on refining your characters yet? It's important you have matching stories.” Loki kept teasing. “Why, still the beat of my pitter pattering heart Tin Man. Does this mean we’re engaged?” Tony became serious. “Do I have to suit up Cactus? Cause I'll come over there and… Scuse?...What the…” A scuffle occurred before Pepper took over. “Anthony, my love, the bar is out of ice. Be a dear and get some from the kitchen?” “Jarvis my friend, can you bring Miss Potts some ice?” “I beg your pardon Sir?” “Wait. How's about I suit up on Miss Potts and get my phone back.” “I wouldn't recommend that Sir.” By this point, Loki and Shandi were struggling not to laugh, but Peppers next words and her tone almost did it.” “I'm warning you Stark.” “I do recommend you listen Sir.” “Yes, thank you very much for the loyalty Jarvis.” Walking to the elevator, he shouted. “Don't forget what we talked about in the truck Cactus!” Pepper waited for the door to close. “He has been indulging as we weren't expecting your call, but you boys could play nicer Loki.” “My apologies Virginia.” “I'm not sure who the bigger brat is sometimes, you or him.” “I'll bet I could tell you.” Said Shandi. Pepper laughed. “Match up your stories guys and please tell Nat and Clint about Alice? I need to call Phil regarding Shamus.” “Certainly.” “Thanks, good luck.” The call ended and Shandi eyed Loki. “What did you guys talk about in the truck?” “You know, guy stuff.” She watched in awe then as a green mist appeared from his hand, materializing paper and pens onto the counter. “Shall we work in the ‘entertainment’ room?” “Uhh sure, but don't you mean the wreck room?” “You Midgardians and your odd names for things. The room isn't wrecked, it's perfectly fine.” She dead panned as he left, then poured another glass of wine. ‘I wish I had that gift. I could conjure up a new Hitachi.’ Loki shouted from down the hall. “Coming Lizzy?” Her brows rose. ‘I'm going to pretend he didn't say that.’

The Gala
Danielle takes Ben as her plus one to an annual Gala that she’s expected to attend with her mother. However, once at the event, everyone expects Ben to be more than he is.
including these four writing prompts:
25. “When you love someone, you don’t just stop. Ever. Even when people roll their eyes or call you crazy… even then. Especially then!” 84. “I can’t believe you talked me into this.” 93. “It’s a real shame nobody asked for your opinion.” 99. “I don’t care what they said, it doesn’t mean shit!”
Ben looked around the large hall, nervous as he examined all the people, they were all clearly far better off than he was. By their laughter alone he could tell they were people he didn’t belong with. People who probably had cars as birthday presents before they could drive, people who could probably go through five phones in a month. Similar to Sean and Danielle, sure, but they all seemed less genuine. Danielle passed Ben a glass and then linked her arm into his.
“Champagne?”
“Yes,” Danielle smiled up to him, “smart boy.”
“I’m a genius. So… These people all seem very... Unlike me, you know?”
“Not all of them,” Danielle tutted, she pointed across the hall, “Kaylee and Noah are here!”
“They’re performing,” Ben replied in a miserable tone, “everyone else here is-”
“Sean and Skye,” Danielle hissed and turned to Ben suddenly, “they’re here, why are they here?”
“Because Sean’s also rich, like everyone here.”
Danielle frowned and began to play around with Ben’s fingers as she spoke, “I just have to prove to everyone here that you are far better than Sean, that I’ve moved onto better things, you know?”
“Yeah,” Ben answered in an unsure tone.
“Danielle!” A shrill voice called out, Danielle seemed to let out a small groan as a girl in a long black dress approached them. Her blonde hair was held up in a bun and she wore jewellery that Ben knew he’d never be able to afford.
“Safiya,” Danielle put on a fake happy voice and rushed forward the greet the girl with a kiss to each cheek, “it’s been so long.”
“And who’s this?” She nodded over to Ben and then ushered Danielle to meet him, “upgrade or downgrade?”
“Upgrade,” Danielle hissed quickly, she linked her arm with Ben’s again and smiled proudly, “this is Ben.”
“Ben,” Safiya repeated the name with an odd facial expression, “short for Benedict?”
“No, Benjamin,” Ben shrugged, he curiously cocked his head when the girl seemed to react to his full name, he leaned down to Danielle, “why is my name gross to her?”
“Don’t worry,” Danielle set her hand on Ben’s chest and then looked to Safiya, “so, are you still with Julian?”
“Oh God no, Julian left me after stating he had strong sexual feelings for Penelope, even though she’s been in a five year relationship with Henry. It turns out the three of them became sexually intimate with each other, which is odd considering Julian was never sexual with me.”
“Oh, wow.”
“But Gertrude’s older brother Frederick is here and I plan on making a move, do you think it’s a wise choice?”
“Uh, sure,” Danielle answered quickly.
“Great,” Safiya looked to Ben again, “so, Benjamin, let me guess, you father must own some business, right?”
“No, he works at a local shop.”
“Oh, so your mother must be the one who’s involved in business.”
Ben shook his head slowly, “no, she works at the same shop.”
“Right,” Safiya pulled a face, “and you?”
“He works at a lodge,” Sean entered the conversation, patting Ben on the back, “that my girlfriend happens to own.”
Danielle rolled her eyes, “oh great.”
Safiya greeted Sean as she had greeted Danielle, and then embrace Skye in a hug, “hello, I’m Safiya, and you must be…”
“Skye.”
“That is a lovely name.”
“Ben’s a lovely name too,” Danielle mumbled, Ben looked to her and shook his head.
Ben managed to get Danielle away from the conversation. Not wanting to be around the irritating girl who seemed to view him so lowly, he kept a hold of her hand and led her over to the stage where Kaylee and Noah were stood by the side waiting to go on.
“Power couple alert,” Noah called as he set eyes on them, “you two look amazing.”
“Thanks,” Ben laughed as he high-fived Noah as a greeting, “although I’ve already taken a disliking to some of the company,” he glanced around.
“Ben, they’re nice people, it just takes a while to get used to it.”
“Safiya literally looked like she wanted to throw up because my name is Benjamin and not Benedict!”
“They just have strong tastes.”
Ben looked over his shoulder and saw that the same girl was getting along well with Skye and Sean, “yeah, and I’m not good enough for those tastes, am I?”
“You’re good enough for Danielle,” Kaylee answered as she looked him up and down, “shouldn’t that be enough for you?”
Ben nodded and began to smile, “yeah, it is. It’s just, hearing someone think so lowly of me and my family really hurts.”
Danielle pressed up against Ben, “okay, we’ll do our best to avoid that kind of talk for the rest of the night, okay?”
“Thank you Dani,” Ben grinned, he leaned down and gently pulled her into a kiss.
* * * * *
It was later in the night, Kaylee and Noah were performing and that Safiya girl had managed to find her way back to Ben and Danielle. Ben had done his best to ignore her appearance but when some guy had managed to get Danielle into a separate conversation, Safiya practically corner Ben.
“So, Benjamin, your mother and your father are both... Shop workers, and you work at a lodge, so…”
“So?”
“Well, what on earth made Danielle want you?”
Ben hesitated and glanced over to Danielle as though she could notice and help him out, “well… I… I don’t have to have money for her to like me.”
“Right, because Danielle doesn’t care about money at all,” she spoke sarcastically, “listen, I hate to be the one to break it to you but I’m pretty sure you’re just the rebound from Sean - everybody knows when you pick a rebound, it’s a downgrade,”
Ben stared at the girl and crossed his arms, “oh, so that’s why you’ve chosen to chase after that Frederick guy, huh? Downgrade of Julian?”
“No!”
“I’m not a rebound,” Ben hissed, he glanced over to Danielle, “Danielle really likes me, and I like her.”
“Right,” Safiya snorted, “I know Danielle, and I know that you aren’t her type at all. I mean come on, it’s clearly the first time you’ve even worn a tie.”
“No it isn’t.”
Safiya grabbed the tie and tightened it, “Danielle would never date a scruffy boy like you.”
Ben rolled his eyes and snatched the tie back from the girl, “it’s a real shame nobody asked for your opinion! Danielle can make her own decisions on who she wants to be with! We don’t all have to be uptight, I don’t need to look down on people who have less than me.”
“Because those people don’t exist.”
“Oh my God, what is your problem?” Ben snapped, “I didn’t even want to be here today, I came because I adore Danielle and I’ll do anything for her, I didn’t come here to be constantly shot down by some girl who doesn’t work and instead only lives off of mummy and daddy!”
Safiya glared up at Ben in silence, and Ben began to smile when he realised he was successful, Danielle stopped by Ben’s side and leaned up against him, “oh Ben, I was just telling Callum about your mountain biking!”
Safiya made a disgusted noise and Ben continued to glare at her.
“Ben is competing in the Regionals,” Danielle boasted to Safiya, “he’s really good at it, and he even beat Sean,” Danielle chuckled as she looked over to Sean who had walked into the conversation with Skye, “he’s always winning over Sean anyway.”
“Yeah,” Sean responded as he wrapped his arm around Skye, “he’s… Always winning.”
“Really?” Ben whispered to Sean, his friend winked to him playfully.
“It’s not the only thing Ben’s better than Sean at-”
“Oh my God,” Ben turned back to Danielle, “you know what, I can’t believe you talked me into this! I didn’t want to be here tonight, and I’ve never been so uncomfortable anywhere! I’m fed up of being compared to everyone else here, I don’t want to be your trophy, Danielle! I want to be your boyfriend! I love you, I want to be the boy that you love for me,” he paused and looked around the group that had gathered, he let out a sigh and stormed away, leaving Danielle in the middle of the huddle looking absolutely stunned.
* * * * *
Not too long after Ben’s moment, Danielle walked outside of the venue to find Ben sat down on a bench, he was holding his tie, wrapping his around his hands and tugging it. She approached him and he eventually looked up, recognising the clicking of her heels.
“That was… Quite the scene.”
“I’m sorry,” Ben instantly admitted, “that was… It must have been really embarrassing.”
Danielle shrugged, “you raised some good points, I shouldn’t be trying to prove you’re better than the rest of them. You mean so much to me, and those people - I don’t care what they say, it doesn’t mean shit. You are my boyfriend, my big bad Benjamin. You don’t need to be able to afford everything in the world, you are perfect as you are.”
Ben smiled slightly, “I uh… I called my mum, she’s coming to pick me up.”
“Oh,” Danielle pressed her lips together, she sat down next to Ben and reached for his hand, “well, I’ll come home with you then, if you’re mum is okay with that?”
“My mum loves you,” Ben laughed softly, “of course you can come to ours.”
“Awesome,” Danielle grinned and then looked back to the venue, “hey, how long have we got?”
“She’ll be here in like… Fifteen minutes?”
“That’s long enough,” she jumped onto her feet again and pulled Ben up with her, “I’ve got something in mind.”
She tugged him back inside the venue, several people who had been close for Ben’s moment watched him as Danielle led him over to the stage where Kaylee and Noah had just finished a song. Danielle waved for Kaylee and the girl rushed to the edge of the stage.
“Question, would I be allowed just one performance? One of your songs of course.”
Kaylee looked around to Noah and then back to Danielle, “uh, it depends if Noah’s got the track on his laptop.”
“Something About Me,” Danielle smiled, “you know it’s one of my favourites.”
“Danielle,” Ben whispered from her side, “what are you planning?”
“A dramatic exit.”
Ben laughed and looked up to Kaylee, “tell me you have the track.”
“We do,” Noah nodded, “well then, come on Danielle, make your grand exit.”
Kaylee pulled Danielle onto the stage and passed her a microphone, Noah then started the track and Danielle sang along with ease.
“Sometimes I can’t see all that I can be Feel like a heartbeat not keeping time But then the back beat brings me to my feet And what I can be I’m leaving behind
Oh, because there’s something about me Oh, because there’s something about me You know you can’t live without me You’re gonna stop in your tracks Now it’s pulling you back like that Because there’s something about me
What you see is just the tip of the iceberg If it’s the last word it’s gonna be mine You can try but you can’t pain my by numbers All of the colours out of the lines
Oh, because there’s something about me Oh, because there’s something about me You know you can’t live without me You’re gonna stop in your tracks Now it’s pulling you back like that Because there’s something about me”
Throughout the performance, Danielle had stepped down from the stage and onto the dance floor area, several of the guests were watching her. She made sure to make eye contact with Safiya, the girl who had made sure to make Ben uncomfortable. During the second verse, Kaylee and Noah had joined her on the dance floor, Kaylee singing backing vocals whilst she and Noah danced. Ben had then rushed in for the second chorus, standing by Danielle and dancing playfully with her. Skye and Sean then decided to rush in to join their friends in what felt like a moment of rebellion. Ben lifted Danielle onto his shoulder for her to sing the next section of the song.
“It’s undefined what makes a diamond shine But I know what makes me glow So let’s go
Because there’s something about me You know you can’t live without me You’re gonna stop in your tracks Now it’s pulling you back like that Because there’s something about me Oh yeah, there’s something about me”
Danielle ended up against Ben, he was grinning down at her with a look of pride, she wasn’t done though. She held the microphone close to her mouth and began speaking.
“When you love someone, you don’t just stop. Ever. Even when people roll their eyes or call you crazy… even then. Especially then!” She smiled up at Ben, “and I love Ben Evans with all my heart, I’m proud of him no matter what everyone in here thinks! He doesn’t need to have all the money in the world, or seven cars, or five bathrooms. He’s an amazing boyfriend, and he has a massive-”
“Danielle,” Ben laughed awkwardly.
“Heart,” Danielle looked up at Ben with her eyebrows furrowed, she patted his chest and looked out, “a bigger heart than any of the men in here, I mean, maybe Noah is good competition, but none of you lot are. Also, he’s great in bed and he something else that’s big too, and I’m sure it’s once again bigger than most of the men in here, I know for definite it’s bigger than Sean’s so-”
“Okay!” Ben laughed and grabbed the microphone from Danielle, “we’ve made our point, I’d drop the mic, but I know for a fact it belongs to Noah, so Noah!”
Noah rushed over and crouched down in front of Ben, he looked up and whispered, “drop it, I’ll catch it.”
Ben shrugged, “we out,” he dropped the microphone into Noah’s grip and then ran out of the venue with Danielle, when she began to struggle running in the heels he stopped to pick her up. They laughed as he set her onto her own two feet again outside the venue, “I can’t believe you said that, Dani.”
“Yeah, maybe it was a bit much - but I mean it wa-”
“I mean you said you love me,” Ben placed his hand on her waist, “I didn’t know when I’d hear you say it back. I love you so much Danielle.”
“Oh, right, I knew you meant that,” she chuckled and stretched up to kiss him on the lips.
“So, when we get back to mine-”
“Actually, would your mum be able to take us to mine? My mum will be staying at the gala all night, until early morning, so we’d have the house to ourselves…”
“That’s an offer I can’t refuse.”
