Everybody knows I am a Grimmons Person... but for the fun of rare-pairs, here are some thoughts I have for other characters being in this Orange/Maroon Peanutbutter/Jelly sandwich~ (a silly way of saying, hey- here are some relationships that are Grif/Simmons/other characters)
(I have thoughts for several, but right here are Locus, Wash, and Donut, I'll add more later~)
Locus; Grif is just super chill hanging out with him, doesn't take NO for an answer when Locus tries to disappear into the shadows, but also? Locus actually LIKES Grif's company, which is very rare, so he doesn't have it in him to actually avoid Grif/reject him. HOWEVER... Simmons is very jealous and petty. He's also very intimidated by the big scary former mercenary... sometimes the jealousy overrides the intimidation, and Simmons will get IN BETWEEN THEM, saying some passive-aggressive nonsense about how Locus will NEVER understand all their inside jokes, etc. Then Simmons notices... Locus is so very AWKWARD. He like- doesn't try to bully Simmons back? What??? OK, now Simmons feels bad. He resents Locus for making him feel bad, so he tries extra hard to include Locus in things they've both done before (because that'll teach him a lesson?). Locus just accepts all the attention as he does with Grif. They tell him one day that he's been looking better lately, gained some weight back, and can finally relax, and Locus casually gives them honest compliments back, and it is like they JUST realized he's handsome (they get all twitterpated for a minute). Neither Grif nor Simmons is sure how to like... discuss the idea of three-way-dating? Not exactly something they planned on. They eventually bring it up to Locus, and HE gets all flustered, and accepts. It's hard to figure out which one is more surprised by the results (Grif, who has his adorably weird nerd AND somebody who defines the strong silent type? Simmons, who has TWO big beautiful men? Locus, who has genuine affection and intimacy that DOESN'T have life-threatening undertones? yeah, the bar is kinda low for Locus in terms of relationships, but Grif and Simmons are a VAST improvement)
Wash; He has to be the one that initiates. Not because they wouldn't be interested, they just don't expect HIM to be interested. Wash is also not super great at this. He tries to kinda introduce the idea of being kinda "flirty" with each of them solo. In his head, this is supposed to be "sweet", like- I care about you both as individuals, but I'd love us all to be TOGETHER. For Grif and Simmons, they now think Wash is? A HOME-WRECKER??? Which sounds stupid and weird, maybe Wash is just trying to joke around in a weirdly intimate way. So they kinda play along, and he thinks it is working, but then they finally ask if this is a prank or whatever, and now he's MORTIFIED. Wash avoids them for a week, and when they talk to him again, he explains, and they assure him this is FINE, in retrospect it was just funny haha, then invite him out for a movie to show everything is cool. Grif and Simmons come to an agreement after the movie... and start individually flirting with Wash. He thinks they're just teasing him for being a dork. They have to actually call another trip to the movies their "second date" before he GETS IT. Everybody else just sees them teasing each other a LOT more often, but laughing about it, being all cute. Wash even starts picking up some of their habits (naps with Grif, watching deep-dive/documentaries with Simmons). Wash asks all politely if it will alright to kiss them, and it isn't FAIR for Wash to be cute like that and also be such a nag (Grif now has 2 people ganging up on him to do laundry/the dishes, Simmons has 2 people reminding him to sleep, and Wash has 2 people who make sure he actually eats properly)
Donut; He always wiggle-worms his way into their space. He acts like he didn't realize they were trying to be all lovey-dovey, but they know he knows. He must be lonely for their company, maybe he feels extra left-out with them being a couple. He manages to NOT be totally annoying when they're doing whatever, so they decide let him spend more time with them. This just encourages Donut to hang out with them MORE, and he always seems to be bribing them for more attention, making Grif treats or telling Simmons about a new bookstore with something he's interested in... the only they do alone, is when they go to bed. One night, Grif and Simmons talk about how clingy Donut has been, they way he's acting around them, and even when they aren't with him, he looks at them all wistfully. Grif jokes Donut is acting like he's got a CRUSH or something, and they have to go OHHHHHH. Which one of them? BOTH of them??? What are their options here? Let Donut down, try to be nice about it, still hang out but as friends, or... there is an OR? Really? Really. Donut isn't really so obnoxious. Even when he is, they can tell he's doing it on purpose, and these two LOVE bothering each other, that is their whole thing. They can appreciate that he knows them both very well, and yeah- they know him, he's been part of their lives for a long time, and they both know how it feels to pine after somebody when it seems like a lost cause... so, they keep letting Donut hang out with them. He doesn't know they know. Until, one night, after staying up to watch a horror marathon, Donut sighs as he gets ready to leave the room, but Grif and Simmons scoot over on their bed and hold the covers open for him. He joins them, literally just for sleeping, but then Donut starts actually CRYING, he feels like they're just being nice and he's being disingenuous (oh, the pain of unrequited love), and they have to tell him to KNOCK OFF THE DRAMA, he likes them, they like him, they GET IT, Simmons has to hug Donut and roll over while holding so he's in the middle, where he actually gets double-cheek-kisses in the dark. Now he wants to giggle about it, and they tell him to SHUT UP. He tells them they're a-holes. All three happily argue for an hour before settling down enough to sleep

I think a lot of people in fandoms today do not seem to understand but what is usually clear to anyone in fandoms creating stuff for shows/movies (gifmakers, editmakers, artists, fanfics writers etc) : watching a show/movie is an active part of the co-creation of the show/movie. You, the viewer, give meaning to what you are watching by your interpretations, watching something is not as neutral of an act as we like to believe. A director and/or screenwritter is a human being, they will not realistically think of everything, they literally cannot because they are too close to what they are writting or creating. Holding them to an unrealistic standard of perfection is honestly antithesis of the act creation itself. Anyways this is why there is proof readers and screen tests to make sure the message they are sending is getting passed, despite the flaws that will always be there. But also sometimes director and/or screenwriters deliberately leave some shit out because the audience has to come and put it's own interpretation and figure shit out. Creating something and having someone read/watch it is a dialogue and an act of co-creation because everyone will come out of something with different interpretations and nuances, that's the beauty of it! This is why showrunners changing ending of entire shows because people figured it out is bad! Because instead of embrassing that dialogue, that the story they've been telling is so very clear that obviously the fans understood, they are acting like it is a menace to come up with the interpretation they themselves thought of, and change the ending and make it incoherent with the story just for the sake of surprising the audience. This is why fandom acting like because the ending they expected didn't happened when the whole time the director/screenwriter had been saying a very specific thing is also bad, because the fans are not coming up with the interpretation from what is layed out for them, from the dialogue they are having with the director or screenwritter, they are coming up with it via some other shit they completely made up in their head. The director/screenwriter is giving you the perimeter of what is to be interpreted in what they are creating, you have to at least genuinely try to understand it from start to end to have this dialogue with them. This is why I, and a lot of people I know, prefer going into things not having read a single synopsis or seeing a single trailer, or prefer when the trailer is completely misleading, to be able to suspend our beliefs during the whole thing. You can always not like what you fucking understood at the end and change the whole thing afterwards, there is a reason why fix-it fics exists. But if you come in with specific expectations from the very goddamn start of something, you will never actually see what the person who created it is trying to have a dialogue about with you, is trying to co-create with you. This whole thing sometimes mean filling the blanks yourself but sometimes there isn't even any goddamn blanks, you were just so busy criticizing a fucking pixel that was the wrong color that you didn't see the bigger goddamn picture
And also I'd like to add, your dissection of a fucking pixel makes it actually hard for the people who have watched and waited to fully grasps the meaning of the picture, to critic the ensemble of pixels they think could have had a better harmonized color even if it works the way it is, because you are polluting the space of the goddamn dialogue, you are making it so other people cannot goddamn co-create in a meaningful way. This whole thing is anthesis of artistic creation dawg, and maybe if people understood that they are co-creating what they are watching, they'd be more inclined to ask themselves if what the creators were actually trying to say was said badly or if their own expectations got in the way of their interpretations

4,6, and 28 for iwaoisuga for the otp ask memes :3?
otp questions
thank you for the questions!!! i ended up writing SO much, sorry for the essay.
4. Favorite non-sexual activity?
hmm.... movie nights, i think!!! iwa and oikawa are both huge sci-fi fans and suga love horror movies so they have nights in where they watch movies together a lot. suga likes making themed snacks. if it's a special occasion, they might set up a blanket fort too :3
6. What is their favorite feature of their partner’s?
suga: physically, suga really loves iwa's smile! Iwaizumi Hajime smiles at him and he is a goner. even when they've been dating for years, it still makes him feel kind of fluttery. for oikawa, he really likes his hair. he could spend hours playing with his hair. it's just always soft and kind of fluffy.
personality-wise, he really likes the aspects of their personalities that they don't really show to other people. he loves when iwa gets a little silly. he genuinely thinks iwa is the funniest person he knows and people are always a little surprised when he says this. and then for oikawa, he loves how caring he can be! especially with his family and friends. there's something special to suga about being able to see these different sides of them.
iwa: i think iwa's favorite physical feature for suga is his smile too. iwa and suga are simply men w award winning smiles. but i think specifically the smiles that iwa really likes are suga's small ones. like when he's a little flustered? there's something endearing about suga acting a little shy when he is anything but. for oikawa, hm... think he can sometimes find it hard to pinpoint what his favorite physical feature is of oikawa's bc of how their relationship progressed. whereas it's somewhat easy for suga bc he just thinks of what drew him in initially (<- cop out answer because i didn't want to say smile again lmao. i think he really loves oikawa's like.. genuine smile? when he's not being fake or putting on an act and is actually really happy)
non-physical - he really loves oikawa's drive and passion!! really admires how he's always looking for things to improve (it's frustrating when it manifests as him pushing himself too hard though, then he kind of hates it). and in a similar-ish vein, he really loves how determined he is!! like he's not one to give up when he faces an obstacle. and in the case of kageyama, he looked for other ways to make himself useful on the court instead of just giving up. (they did not really know each other then but i do like to think it's something he noticed... he talks about it once after they start dating and suga is like ???? you were paying attention to me?? 😦)
oikawa: hm... he really loves suga's expressions which maybe sounds weird (or i've just been looking at this too long) but like. i think suga is really expressive and oikawa loves that about him. he has like a list in his head of his top five suga expressions that changes daily. for iwa, he loves his eyes!! he thinks his eyes are so pretty such a gorgeous color. has probably compared the color of iwa's eyes to a galaxy or smth bc he's gay like that.
non-physical - i think... he loves the softer parts of iwa's personality? like iwa is a somewhat gruff, tough love kind of guy but he has his own softer side that comes out around the people that he cares about (and animals). his moms, his kouhai, his dog, etc. he loves every side of iwa ofc but he does enjoy seeing a softer iwa-chan. and with suga, i think he loves how perceptive he is!! it's the one of the things that initially drew him to suga in the first place. initially, it was more in a "damn this guy is really getting under my skin" way but now he just really likes seeing the way his brain works.
28. What do they do when they’re away from each other?
ooh i have lots of thoughts about this. so i've talked about this before on here but they like to play games together!
suga and oikawa both forced iwa to get animal crossing when the new one came out so they could play together. he didn't expect to be that into it but he ended up really liking catching bugs and fishing. probably completed his museum before both of them. bug catching and fishing are like... the only things he does though lmao. he hasn't even unlocked terraforming.
other things.... a lot of calls, of course. both video and voice calls. their free time doesn't always align perfectly (with their busy schedules plus the different time zones) so they'll be on call a lot while they're all busy with different things. one of them is cooking dinner, one of them is getting ready for bed, and one of them is doing laundry. stuff like that.
they'll watch movies and tv shows online together. suga likes sending lots of pictures to their group chat throughout the day. iwa and oikawa both get into the habit of doing the same thing because of him.

Yay requests are open ahsja-
Can I request Aizawa with an easily embarrassed reader? Like they've been together for a while but forehead kisses or little displays of affection have them blushing like crazy still
From Cindy: Today’s the day I finally felt soft enough to write this, and I think it turned out VERY soft. Hopefully this isn’t too sappy for you anon. And sorry for the wait!

Sunset (Aizawa x GN!Reader)
Tumblr media
It was one of those rare evenings where your boyfriend Aizawa had finished his teaching duties early and wasn’t scheduled for any night patrols in the city. Your heart skipped a beat as soon as you received his text asking if you’d be free to do something together. Several months had already passed since he’d asked you to be with him officially, but the thought of spending time with him still filled your stomach with butterflies. He always worked so hard, and you wondered how he even managed to have the energy to dote on you the way he did. His kindness seemed inexhaustible and he never failed to make you feel like you were the most important person in his life.
As you prepared for his arrival, you wondered if he had anything particular in mind for you both. Outings with Aizawa were usually quite relaxed and easygoing, but you really looked forward to each and every one nonetheless. Sometimes his dates weren’t outings at all, and you simply curled up on the sofa, enjoying each other’s company while watching some random movie or talking about anything at all until one of you finally gave in and slipped into dreamland. The memory of the first time he’d fallen asleep with his head on your shoulder instantly brought a warmth to your cheeks. He’d looked so comfortable and at peace in your company that you couldn’t help but fall a little bit more in love with him whenever you thought about it.
“Hey love,” his hand comes up to brush his knuckles softly against your face once he shows up. “You up for a little walk?”
He’d only just arrived and he already had you filled with a giddy excitement. The heat in your cheeks grows stronger at his affectionate greeting, and you nod your head eagerly. You could see tiredness in his eyes, but he insists he’s fine when you offer to stay in and rest instead. He laces his fingers with yours, offering a soft smile before leading you out to some mystery destination.
“I missed you today,” his voice is steady but you know without a doubt that his words are genuine. Aizawa wasn’t the type of person to say things like that unnecessarily. He always meant everything he said.
“I missed you too,” you reply, glancing over at him just in time to see the pleased expression on his face. You wondered if you were really on his mind as much as he was on yours. A scene bloomed in your imagination of his mind wandering to thoughts of you during free moments when his students didn’t require his attention.
After a few minutes of walking, Aizawa directs you both into a small park. There was a narrow path that led through a small field and past a playscape for the neighborhood children to play on. Most people were just arriving home now though, getting started on homework or preparing dinner for their family, so the park was empty for the most part. Aizawa takes the chance to slip his fingers out of yours and wrap his arm around your waist to pull you even closer.
“Shouta,” his name falls from your lips shyly and he tilts his head towards you with a playful smile.
“What?” his tone was teasing. “I don’t want you to get cold once we get closer to the water.” He gestures out in front of you where the field gives way to a sandy beach. The dirt path beneath your feet ends at a set of wooden stairs leading up to a rickety boardwalk that looked out over the water. “I thought we could watch the sunset together.”
You suck in a breath and feel your heartrate pick up. Outwardly, Aizawa didn’t seem like much of a romantic, but when he did things like this with you it really made you see him in a different light. Knowing that you were the only person who got to see this side of him made it even more special. You cast your eyes down to your feet, feeling flustered and a little speechless. You hear him chuckle before the feeling of his thumb rubbing soothing circles on your hip catches your attention.
“Afterwards we can get some take out and relax at home if you want,” his suggestion sounded perfect and you nod your head, already looking forward to the warmth and safety of being cuddled up to him on the sofa.
“That would be really nice,” you tell him as he steers you both toward the railing to look out at the water. The sun was already starting to sink behind the waves, casting a reddish orange glow over the scene in front of you. “Wow, it’s so beautiful. This was such a great idea, thank you.”
“You don’t have to thank me,” he promises sweetly, his hand traveling up to your shoulder to pull you into his side. “I love spending time with you like this.” The loving words have you turning and hiding your face against him and he chuckles again. He leans down and presses a kiss to your forehead, embarrassing you even further.
“Shoutaaa.” You mumble his name again, voice muffled.
“I’m sorry,” he sounds amused but you know there’s some real emotion in his words. “I don’t mean to make you uncomfortable.”
“You don’t,” you assure him, finding the courage to meet his eyes so he knows that you’re serious. “I just… love you so much that I get overwhelmed sometimes.”
The look on his face as he processes what you’d said holds nothing but pure affection. He tightens his hold on you and smiles.
“I hope you know that I love you just as much,” he takes you by surprise by winking quickly. “Maybe even more.” Heat rushes to your face once more and you fight the urge to bury your face back into his side. Instead, you take a deep breath to calm your nerves and turn back to admire the sunset which was slowly changing into soft pinks and purples over the water. Even if your boyfriend made your heart flutter so much in powerful moments like this, you knew you wouldn’t trade them for anything else in the world.

Do you know your zodiac sign like the back of your hand? Get new-in-your-face insights from a special horoscope.
Aries: When dealing with an Aries, expect a lot of WTF moments. These ambitious individuals know how to get their way, even if it means burning a few bridges along the way. They're like the honey badger – they don't give a sh**. Their independent personalities make them seem selfish – because they are. But sometimes, that's what it takes to be successful in life, right? Don't worry – Aries is also a great, loyal friend. Just don't get on their bad side.
Taurus: Don't be fooled by Taurus's calm, easygoing personality. Underneath the surface, they've got the temper of a raging bull. Fortunately, it's easy to steer clear of their wrath: just don't mess with them. Don't expose them to change. Don't move the TV remote. And for the love of god, do NOT rearrange the furniture without asking them. But remember that Taurus is also extremely loyal, patient and persistent. Whereas others give up waiting for the new iPhone to be released, Taurus will wait through cold rain and blistered feet to get his new device.
Gemini: Gemini, the social butterfly, can talk, and talk, and talk, and talk. But here's the weird thing: you keep listening! Whereas you want others to "Shut up!" you are interested to hear what Gemini has to say (usually), because they are clever, intelligent and imaginative. Also, they're gossipy. They've got more juicy tidbits than Perez Hilton, and who doesn't like that? Gemini might not always have the facts straight, but who cares? As long as the story is interesting and it eliminates awkward silences, that's all that matters.
Cancer: Cancer isn't afraid to admit he spent Friday nights watching episodes of Full House and Family Matters when he was younger. They're the homebodies of the zodiac. They like the comforts of home, family and predictability – like the mailman, the paperboy and the evening TV. Sure, they can be a little shy sometimes. But they make great friends. They know how to make others feel loved and appreciated. It takes an eternity to uncover Taurus's deepest thoughts and feelings, but who cares when they're busy making YOU feel so good?
Leo: If Leo had a theme song, it would be the music to The Lion King. These confident, ambitious souls are natural leaders. They make their presence known when they enter a room, even when they're not trying. Don't bother arguing with a Leo. They're so headstrong and high-minded that they might not even hear you. Just politely nod your head and walk away. But don't misinterpret their intentions. It's not all ego, it's pride. Like the lion, they're just trying to maintain order in the jungle and lead the pack to more prosperous things ahead.
Virgo: There are two reasons why a Virgo doesn't believe what you say: 1) They know when you're lying, or 2) You didn't present enough facts. Virgos are very observant and analytical. But this also makes them skeptical. If you say, "I heard that Chewbaca has a 'full frontal' scene in the new Star Wars movie," expect some eye-rolling. Virgos will demand a reliable source. Sure, they can be a little annoying in their pursuit to solve everything. But their intentions are always sincere, genuine and honest – never malicious.
Libra: The diplomatic Libra is the person who tries to break up a fight, even if it means getting punched in the face. They see the beauty of the world. They will do almost anything to maintain a state of harmony and balance in their lives. As great debaters, they also make good lawyers. When they're not quoting Gandhi and doing yoga, they're listening to you, looking through you and seeing who you really are inside. But don't worry. Despite your faults, Libra still loves you.
Scorpio: Oh Scorpio, you moody, complicated firecracker. People often misunderstand the intensity of Scorpios, because they're afraid of their mighty sting. But in reality, the bold personality of Scorpios is just a sign of their extreme ambition. They're fiercely independent. They know what they want in life, and they know how to get it. Standing in their way is like putting yourself in front of freight train carrying elephants and dynamites. But if you help them get to their destination, you'll have a friend for life.
Sagittarius: Good things happen to the lucky Sagittarius – a surprise inheritance from Grandma, a winning lotto ticket, the 20-dollar-bill found wedged in a movie theater seat. But don't assume it's purely coincidental. Sagittarius is focused, optimistic and always on the lookout for good fortune. Their perceptive minds and vibrant personalities have a way of benefiting them in mysterious ways – except, of course, when they become and drop everything for some crazy new adventure. Don't expect Sagittarius to get too emotional, ever. Even if you're saying goodbye forever.
Capricorn: Life isn't a box of chocolates to Capricorn. You know what you're going to get, because the box gives you a diagram. That's Capricorn in a nutshell: they're extremely logical and systematic. They approach challenges practically, using their knowledge and experiences to find a solution every time. Don't be surprised if they don't enjoy fantasies like Lord of the Rings, because "trees don't talk" and "Gollum is just a computer-generated animation." We get it, Capricorn. Your imagination is a little on the weak side. But when we have a problem, you'll be the first person we come to for help.
Aquarius: How do you do it, Aquarius? Your methods are so unorthodox and, well, a little weird. But you always come out on top! That's what makes Aquarius unique – they don't always play by the rules. They deviate from the crowd. And in the process, they change the whole game to their advantage. Aquarius will destroy you in a debate. Best not to even try it, or you could walk away with scars for life. They didn't mean to make you feel bad. Aquarius is kind-hearted and fun to be around. But their intellect and desire to be different sometimes gets the best of them.
Pisces: Pisces is most likely to be an "anonymous donor" – you know, the people who give without needing to be recognized for it. They are unassuming, trustworthy and selfless. If you can't be friends with a Pisces, consider it a reflection of your own faults, not theirs. They have intense determination, but there's nobody they fight harder for than their closest friends and family. On the other hand, they can also be easily manipulated. If you like to take advantage of people and use them to your own benefit, then you'll love dealing with Pisces.
