(Tchaikovsky likes these warrior woman/skrunkly savant pairs... like the MCs in Elder Race, and to some degree Lain and Holsten from Children of Time)

I liked the hivers (Trine my beloved) and the aliens (the Hanni!) so much, the world is fantastic 💕

YES I LOVE IDRIS AND SOLACE SOOO MUCH idk if i necessarily ship them but. whether u interpret their relationship as romantic or platonic they're SO good. ALSO big fan of what kris+idris and solace+olli have going on, there's so many fun dynamics btwn the crew 🥰

like. i don't think the Final Architecture is particularly groundbreaking sci-fi (Children of Time, on the other hand…) but it's just SO fun and well-done - in terms of plot AND characters AND worldbuilding - and so Quintessentially Space Opera™️ that i couldn't help but fall in love w it
