1: Love

Genuine love is difficult to obtain from Jewel, but those that do are gifted a rare side of her. She goes out of her way to spend time with these people, learn about them, and share a wider depth of emotion with them. There are fewer frosted windows her loved ones have to peer through with her. Though there's still a struggle to express herself at times, they’re the ones she would seek help from before anyone else.

They are the rare few that she would unquestionably put her life on the line for, no matter the opposition. She would murder for them.

As long as they’ve got each others backs she’s ride or die for them.

2: Hate

She hates people who are pushy for her time when she didn’t offer it first or show clear interest beforehand. For example: the sleazy stranger at the bar that wants to buy her drinks and get in her pants when he barely knows her past her name.

3: Hopes

For someone so guarded and outwardly opposed to letting others in, there is a part of her that wants to! There’s always this inner conflict of ‘love makes me happy and I want it’ and ‘I always fuck it up and I don’t believe I’m actually built for this kind of thing. It’s more productive for all parties if I stay away.’

Jewel has tried and failed with others a lot – be it platonic or romantic relationships – usually due to her own toxic behavior but sometimes others. She doesn’t feel she ‘fits’ well with most people and often doesn’t try very hard to nurture relationships at first.

That being said, there’s still a part of her that hopes for it, a tiny whisper that says ‘maybe someday when I can get this monster in me under control.’ She thinks she’s lying to herself with that thought in mind, but the feeling’s still there. She wants friendships and wants a healthy romantic relationship, but it feels like a dream she’s not meant to have.

4: Fears

Here are some headcanons that talk about her source of fear of dark water and sources of fear to lightning.

8: Dreams

When she has nightmares, she often awakens with a rapid heartbeat and feels jittery. She often feels the need to step outside to get some air and decompress for a time. If needed she may go for a night stroll or a night swim to try to clear her head if her mind won’t calm down.

11: Best Friend

Jewel and Airi don’t get to see each other often outside of work meetings. They may go for months without speaking or hanging out but they’re both great about picking up like no time had passed when they do meet up.

One of their favorite things to do together is model clothing. Airi designs clothing and puts together outfits for fun and got Jewel roped into modeling outfits for her. Jewel wasn’t super keen at first but was into it after she was inebriated enough. Airi commentates the poses and shapes while sketching her bestie.

12: Worst Enemy

Jewel is her own worst enemy. Some of the reasoning behind her actions towards her personal problems are counterproductive to solving them. If she had more of an open heart and willingness to accept help from others then a lot of her issues would cause her less stress. She’s too stubborn, prideful, and traumatized to allow any of that with ease.

One grating thing about Jewel is that she can solve most of her problems on her own, but she points to those personal wins when other things get hard. Like ‘I conquered this fear, there’s no reason why I couldn’t master my weapon on my own.’ If she can accomplish one thing on her own then she can do it all on her own kind of logic.

​Whether it is for her injured brother or due to the check ins on the state of her stagnant powers, Rukia is often brought to the fourth regardless these days. Some days she’s more social, conversing or making time to see folks, while some days are sat just sifting through everything that happened and her thoughts by herself. Today seemed to be one of the later, and her place to pick apart her mind was just outside the room of her brother, sitting upon a bench just outside of it. Today also happens to be the second day since Ichigo and his friends have departed back for the world of the living and it feels like the whole seireitei has lost an octave or three. Idly, the object of a tangerine within her grasp is absorbing her attention, passing it between her hands as she peers down with a frown, her head far from in reality. That is when a voice calls out to her, perking her head up, catching her attention. “I’m not lonely.” She says defensively, sighing before crossing her arms. “Things are just... a bit more quieter today. It’s odd.”

Her thoughts are packed lately after recent events, elsewhere than maintaining walls of expression. But it is no excuse to be rude to a superior from the fourth, and so she quickly responds. “Uh, but you are welcome to join me, even if I’m not up to much honestly.” She’s quick to try to be welcoming, even if her words are tough, as she scooches to make room beside her. “I’m sure the fourth needs their own breaks and rest, more than anybody.” To go with her words, she reaches out her hand with the fruit, offering the snack she had grabbed idly to the other. “Here, it’ll be good for your health... or something like that.” Her legs swing lazily, too short to touch the ground before she follows up with another matter. “Er-- Is Hanataro back on duty?” Her voice is wavering, uncertain, but not quite nervous, somewhere between curious and an attempt to be social.

Okay! Which Toa Metru most likely knew First Aid as a Matoran. (A list by me)

Matau

Reasons: As a test Pilot, he has a tendency for his ship to come apart around his mask. So he most likely got injured more then once, so being able to categorize and provide first aid to his injuries would be very beneficial to him.

Vakama

Reasons: He works in a forge around open flames in a sweltering environment. We know Matoran ARE NOT fire proof. Resistant to heat yes, fire proof no. So burns are probably a constant risk as well as heat stroke.

Whenua

Reasons: Apparently, the Archives have a tendency to be broken and the Rahi aren't exactly safe. But that seems to be more of a, "either you escape or you're dead" situation and thus not really a first aid kinda thing.

Onewa

Reasons: He does work around statues and carving. But he's on the bottom half of the list because I have a feeling carving isn't as dangerous as some of the previous three occupations.

Nokama

Reasons: Nokama is tied with Nuju on this one. She's a teacher. She might have had to deal with students that injured themselves while writing tablets, but that's what school nurses are for.

Nuju

Reasons: Nuju is tied with Nokama on this one. His job is interpretation of the stars, there is very little actual Danger involved in it.

He leans forward slightly as a hand moves to his shoulder, and brushes against her fingers. The man let's out a pained sigh as he feels her press soft fingers in bruised and tightened muscles, illicting a groan of pain. It was that sort of good type of pain, where it hurt really intensely before a wave of relief washed over. He had been overtraining and she warned him that his body could only handle so much, resolve and expectations be damned. He shifts his head towards her behind him as he speaks.

"Yes, it must feel nice. I should have listened more." He'd admit with a pained smile, though took solace in the comforts she provided. He supposed it was good he was such good friends with her. "Just.. ow! Be careful right there?" He'd whine slightly with a pained chuckle.

Yet again, Jewel had escaped her room, but she hadn't gone far.

The moonless night echoed a hidden choir of bugs and frogs. The lighting from the Fourth's buildings was dim from where she was sitting, and the glitter of the water before her even more so.

Jewel could capture a shimmer of light dance across the water if she focused on it hard enough. An idle hand reached out and skimmed across the surface and she watched as it rippled.

"I like it out 'ere. I mean, sure I can't see everything as clear as day, but I have other senses."

Darkness was asleep, yet alive. A fright for some and a comfort for others. She found it welcoming.

"Why don't you like it?"
