Mazeka, Nuju and Ehrye. I know Mazeka never was on Mata Nui. The idea is that The Order send him to secretly check on the Metru Nui Matoran on Mata Nui. He was spotted when he got grabbed by Nui-Rama. He kills it, and falls straight into Ko-Koro.

Noticed something

When Teridax roars out, Matau is seen looking to where the roar came from, namely where Terry and Vakama are

Indulge me for a second, it's almost a look of, "What was that!? Wait. Craaaaaap, Vakama's still up there, isn't he?"

Idk, just a small thing I thought was interesting

Do I ship Vakama and Matau? Probably, because I'm unsupervised and no one's stopping me, and I like the unspoken bind between then in LoMN, even if it is mostly Matau calling Vakama crazy

I had this idea when I remembered Matau saying something like "I better be with my pack-team!" And thought they would look lovely all snuggled together like actual rahi lmao

A less traumatic approach to the Toa Hordika redesign

Oh boy, where to start? Since I had alot going behind the scenes redesigning these. Well lets start with me having an idea to basically having the Rahi be like Power Rangers' helmet motive. So did a research on their Rahi, personality, profession, etc.

So ended up being: Tiger (Vakama), Shark (Nokama), Snake (Matau), Owl (Nuju), Bull (Onewa), and Boar (Whenua) (Was thinking of mole at first but somehow the final design makes it look more like a tapir-ish boar than a mole). Then had an idea to incorporate their Metru masks as their helmets' lower half, which then made me realize that pretty much their Hordika masks are just "Elongated Face, with Horizontal Markings". So had to get a bit creative with that.

Then had to design their silhouettes/bodytypes since, might as well. So scoured their set heights from photos and building instructions. Ended up with having their Turaga forms as the main height reference and then mixed up with their Metru Height.

Also designed custom Hordika chest pieces, which then prompts me to scour every toa team ever (+Bohrok and the Kals, cause why not). So yes, its a lot of work. I have no idea why I do this to myself.

Each of the Toa teams in two sentences

Mata/Nuva: dysfunctional family who still care for each other while saving the world. Will get back to snipping at each other when it’s done.

Metru/Hordika: dysfunctional coworkers who drive each other nuts, though still affectionate with the others. Willing to have philosophical arguments and arguments over who put away the dishes badly.

Inika/Mahri: badass team of war heroes, athletes, and scholars, best of the best, best of friends, ready to throw down with Satan with their bare hands. Will fight to their last dying breath with nothing but bare hands and guts.

I was trueperfect with my feet from the beginning! Do not sinlisten to Onewa, he's a sculptor of lies.

I wonder if newly "made" Toa ever forget how tall they are when they become Toa?

Like, how many times has one of them tripped over their own feet because their legs are longer and feet are shaped differently?

How many times has one of them bonked their head on vents or passages that they never had to duck under before?

How long did it take them to realize that they physically move faster than a single Matoran because their legs are now longer and can do that for them?

Fr, I feel like that's something that gets glossed over, but all I can think about are new Toa, like Takanuva, the Toa Metru, Toa Inika/Mahri, all of them being shaky to stand and have to get used to their new bodies as they realize they aren't Toa anymore

Spin!! I decided to keep Nuju a little unpolished to show my progress in spritemaking, specifically in the torso (tho I did update his legs and arms)

I am a chaos.

Plot bunny: A story that explores Teridax's POV as he chooses the later Toa Metru to destroy Mata Nui's plan of saving Metru Nui's matoran.

He doesn't realize that Mata Nui put a false message in the stars. Neither does he realize that he's subtly manipulating him to steer Lhikan to his actual Chosen: the Toa Metru.

Signs of this manipulation appear in Teridax's narrative but nothing he acknowledges. He's certain that he'd never be fooled- certainly not by Mata Nui whom he's made sick. He is the manipulator; never the manipulated. Or so he thinks.

He misses many cues that something is strange because he believes he's in control. He focuses on what he's heard about the Toa Metru's supposed flaws. They give a strong enough impression that it makes sense for him to think that they'll fail.

It never occurs to him to research deeper into his pawns.

Or sabotage the great disk matoran.

Or to follow his thoughts that it's surprising that he found six 'false toa' for Lhikan so quickly.

The dramatic irony has to metaphorically drip from the words.

Bonus / Sequel idea: Teridax shifts from glee about foiling Mata Nui's plans, to confusion, to mounting rage as the Toa Metru act so unpredictably that they destroy several of his plans.

Like they turn into Hordika in certain times, like under a full moon?

IMAGINE that each village has a "Guardian" they tell stories of and the Toa Mata hear about and SEE these guardians, beastly, wild things that protect the Matoran, but are very much "attack first, ask questions later." Takua runs into these a fair few times. It's only after he encounters one up close and personal, maybe encounters a Hordika-ified Vakama at the dead of night, and realizes that THE TURAGA ARE THE GUARDIANS. He knows, and Vakama knows he knows, but Takua says nothing, because he's a Chronicler, not a snitch

And maybe he does because, "Our Turaga can kill you"
