[OPEN STARTER — Genshin Impact; Inazuma City, Teyvat.]

The skies over Inazuma City were painted a pale lavender as dusk began to settle, casting a serene glow over the bustling streets. Yumiko walked along the outskirts of the city square, her silvery fox ears twitching at every sound. The distant murmur of waves from the harbor mixed with the chatter of merchants packing up their stalls. Her sharp eyes took in everything—the delicate architecture, the glint of the Raiden Shogun’s statue in the distance, and the faint traces of sakura petals blowing through the air.

For someone who had spent much of her life on the run, Inazuma City was overwhelming. Yet, she found herself drawn to its energy, its warmth. The humans here didn’t seem to notice her ears or tail. Or if they did, they assumed she was just another kitsune wandering the region.

But as she wandered deeper into the city, that all-too-familiar sensation began to creep up her spine—a volatile heat building in her chest, clawing its way up to her throat. Yumiko stopped in her tracks, her breathing becoming uneven. She swallowed hard, hoping it would pass, but it didn’t. A ragged cough tore its way out, and she quickly raised her arm to cover her mouth, her other hand gripping the nearest wooden post for support.

Her vision blurred for a moment as the coughing grew worse, and she quickly ducked into the shadow of a house, crouching low to avoid drawing attention. Her tail bristled, curling protectively around her as she struggled to suppress the fit.

The Ether in her veins felt unstable, roaring like a storm trapped inside her small frame. She gritted her teeth, forcing herself to focus on steadying her breathing. Seconds passed like hours before the coughing finally eased, leaving her drained and trembling. Maybe they were right; she wasn’t strong enough to explore other places alone.

As she leaned against the wooden wall, the faint sound of approaching footsteps made her ears perk up. She quickly pulled her hood over her head and tried to blend into the shadows, but the figure stopped nearby.

About the mod!

Hiii! Im Aster, i use She/her pronouns mainly but im fine with they/them also. I got into genshin a few weeks ago because a friend recommended it, i just finished the mondstadt archon quests so im pretty early in game but im fine with spoilers. My other interests are hollow knight, Any and all music, sewing/fiber arts, Drawing, Acting and singing!
