I feel like we don't appreciate just how strong Venti's Power of Friendship™ is

Like, the guy could make friends with practically anyone. And by anyone, that includes people that mastered various skills and incredibly powerful beings. He could pretty much get away with anything, and while he doesn't do it often, he could just smile and get people to do things for him

Anyway, something something there's strength in numbers and the silly bard man has connections EVERYWHERE

Little!Gaming/Little!Chongyun headcanons for @littlemissagere! (Also hello :>)

Little!Gaming:

-around 7 - 10 in headspace, although he can go younger on rare occasions.

-depsite being a kid and in his headspace, he often finds himself wanting pacifiers or teethers.

-padded when regressed, either diapers or pull-ups (especially during nighttime.)

-sucks on his thumb a lot. He'll bite his thumb otherwise, or his nail.

-not very picky on his food touching, but he finds that having divider plates helps him settle younger in his headspace!!

-loves lions, especially Cantonese Lions!

-Main CG is chongyun, but if he's out of Liyue/regressed, then he'll go to Xiangling or Xingqui.

-theres been one instance where Xiangling and Xingqui have been busy when he's in need of a CG, and he literally had to find Guoba. (He followed Gaming around for a few hours until Xiangling could free up some time.)

Little!Chongyun

-chaos baby, around 1-6 in age range, can vary depending on the day.

-pull-ups 24/7 (his friend group ARE his CG's so they all know and don't make fun of him.)

-one major way to tell if Chongyun is regressed is by offering your hand out to him! If he holds it, he's small, and if he is big, he'll pretend to not notice. It's a good and subtle way to ask!

-he LOVES cold snacks! Juice and cold milk in particular, although he will not object to a warm bottle before a nap/bedtime.

-carries around a small stuffed animal in his pocket, and he always has at least a dozen fidget toys in his pockets for other littles/himself to play with while bored!)

-he WILL run off if all of his cg's take their eyes off him, even for a second. A good way to make him stay nearby is to just hold his hand!

Wait Venti “mixes things up in canon”? Like, confuses which time he’s in??

I don’t think I’ve noticed. If you want, could you give some examples?

Yeah! There are 1-3 examples of this: 1 that only has time-related explanations, 2 which can be interpreted that way.

The first one is these two lines from different parts of the prologue, in both scenes where we meet Venti at Windrise.

He says exactly the same thing twice and notices that the second time. The delivery is almost identical too (at least in Chinese).

It's too long and flowery to be a coincidence imo, even from him; I believe it's much likelier that he messed up a script due to stress. As he points out himself, he only says 'these things' whenever he's 'down on his luck'.

There are two explanations for this that make sense to me:

He interacts with time nonlinearly. The specific nature of that could vary from simple time travel to jumping around branching timelines to experiencing more than one point in time in parallel; at this point I have no way to narrow that down.

He's in a time loop. He's been through the prologue before and he's partly on autopilot. Maybe Teyvat gets reset and he remembers previous loops, maybe it's something shorter.

Tangentially, if loop theory is true and Teyvat's on its fourth loop then the way he introduces himself will retroactively be even funnier:

Though his infamous song line would be slightly more consistent with intepretation one, as would a text about wind and time I can't locate that describes wind as 'moving between the pages of a book' (considering Teyvat operates on story logic) vs time being more destructive. Interpretation two is still possible if he knows 'future' songs from later in previous loops.

Anyway, the other two mixups concern the traveller.

The first is his infamous introductory voiceline:

Which isn't subtle. The second is from his story quest as he flees Angel's Share:

In which he refers to the statue's hands as 'the usual place' despite us never having been there with him. The dialogue immediately afterwards confirms this is intentional, not something implied to have happened offscreen. Like the Windrise lines, he says this while not at his best emotionally.

Venti also really, really likes the traveller in general- a bit much for someone who hasn't known us that long. His voiceline about his greatest wish puts us on par with Nameless Bard.

Both of the above have a non-time explanation: Venti may have befriended the traveller 500 years ago, the traveller has forgotten everything, and for unknown reasons Venti is trying to hide this from us. However, time travel, experiencing the future and present simultaneously, or knowing them from prior timeloop resets are also viable explanations for why he knows them and has spent time with them already.

Sooo yeah! Venti's hiding something big either way, but he's not as slick as he wants to be.

I really hope Hoyoverse will include her in the next Windblume event. I hope we will get to see her interacting with Venti and others, but especially Venti. They both have this silly energy and they could perform together!! I also feel like Venti (from all of The Seven) is the one that understands her the most.

boutta share something i just thought of

we never see Barbatos

Venti is his human form, but Barbatos took on the appearance of his dead friend

we saw Morax, in cutscenes like his dragon body falling down and the making of Azhdaha

we see Beelzebub (that’s Ei, she changed her name for some unknown reason) all the time, since she never had to disguise herself like Venti and Zhongli did

judging by the cutscenes, Zhongli didn’t make a lot of changes to his appearance. he probably appears to Liyue as a dragon so they can’t pin down any of the mortal forms he takes

but what about Barbatos?

all we see is him before he became an Archon, when he was just a wind spirit

after that, he took the form of the nameless bard to honor his sacrifice and to make sure that Mondstadt always remembers his friend. it’s why all the statues and depictions of “Barbatos” have the nameless bard’s appearance

you can’t really factor in his wind spirit form as the real one, since a minor wind spirit and an Archon would look very different

so… thoughts??

afaik, the current form he has now is his archon form. to honor his dead friend. also the wind spirit is his true form, i think. venti has a lot of connections with istaroth, the god of time who’s been mentioned to be a very important figure in the lore. we see her mentioned through texts in mond and enkanomiya. i’ve seen some theories about venti being a fragment of istaroth, and her fragments formed the thousand winds - which iirc venti once called himself a small wisp among the thousand winds when he was just a wind spirit. also there’s another theory about him actually being a weakened version of istaroth, and with the trend in genshin being: used too much power = shrinking form, it’s not too far fetched of an idea. and!! the latest event!! with venti being able to show snippets from the past, there’s definitely something more to him. and out of all the archons, he’s the only one who hasn’t gotten a part two for his story quest yet.

so anyway! i think venti’s true form is the wind spirit one, and his archon/mortal form is his current form that we see in game. he also has the same form in the manga when he appeared as barbatos to the people of mondstadt during vennessa’s time!

as for zhongli, he took on several forms throughout his time parading through liyue as a mortal. the one thing that never changed, however, were his eyes. no matter which form he took, his eyes remained the same, which is what the adepti use to figure out his identity!

also! ei is her true name. beelzebub is her archon name, i think! not too sure about the specifics on that so i don’t have much to say.
