Just saw someone on Youtube trying to argue that there were "no black characters" in The Outsiders and the new musical was going to be woke . EXCUSE ME. Johnny is literally described as dark-skinned in the book. (I always thought he was hispanic tbh) And it also should not matter who is playing Dallas, as long as they portray his personality correctly. But my country won't get The Outsiders musical forever as usual so I have to listen to the music videos/ soundtrack and hope it comes here. Not to mention. Race never ever would matter to the gang. Least I doubt it.

Listening to Bare the Musical again and I definitely think it's no accident the play they are performing is Romeo and Juliet. Considering what happens in the musical and everything, 2 doomed lovers. It's an interesting choice and my heart hurts every time at the end.
