Actor AU scenario where Venti finally shows up in a new interview after years of silence and having to turn down a bunch of requests and the comments on the interview is comprised of a lot of "OMG HE'S REAL"

I had a dream about an actor au so I decided to doodle a few characters

So first two are Xiao and Kuni

So basic run down on these two in the au

-Xiao: 22

He was a childhood star, he got role after role. He got in a few movies and shows. He was just very cute and people loved to see him. Sadly for him his popularity did bring the wrong type of attention and one day he got kidnapped. He was missing for weeks before he was found. Though the child did not return to making shows, he dropped off for a few years as he struggled to deal with the event that happened. There were a few times in his early teens he tried to go back to the industry but paranoia and fear stopped him from actually going back. In his late teens he pushed himself to go back to acting and actually started to do small roles. Doing small roles is when he met Zhongli. A popular actor who ended up becoming friends with Xiao and encouraged him to try for bigger roles and that he would be okay. That encouragement got Xiao to try for a role in this new live action show Genshin Impact. He ended up getting the role of Alatus and found out later that Zhongli also got a role in the show as Morax.

Kuni: 20

Kuni is also a child star, he didn't have lots of roles like Xiao did as a child, instead he did a few movies in series that were popular in Inazuma and made more movies over time. As a child he met Ei, a woman who kept getting cast as his mother in movies because he sort of resembled her. He played as her son in multiple different movies and he became like his honorary mother on set. As he grew up he got roles in his teenage years that he was not around Ei with. He starred in a few movies about family and growth and coming of age. He ended up getting the role as an adult for his first show which was Genshin Impact. He got the role of Scaramouche/Wanderer, which is his first character that wasn't gentle or kind or centered around family and growth.

basically if phighting was just a tv series and the phighters are all actors playing the characters

by the way, the gear = name mechanism is part of the tv script. the demons in this au are gearless and have human names

CHARACTER INFO:

alex and david are best friends off set. in a blooper take, alex accidentally poked david's actual eye when filming the subspace and medkit eye scene. he repeatedly apologised to david and gave him an ice pack

joseph is an introvert that happened to get the role of an extroverted protagonist. he is sometimes overwhelmed by the amount of attention he recieves and finds it slightly pressuring to do his role

kenneth and neil are actual fathers with children back home. due to this, they tend to look after the younger actors in the studio and watch over them

they picked an actual hornless person to play hyperlaser. allen had his horns removed when he was a teen for medical reasons

they also picked an armless person to play zuka. however, rocket and scythe's prosthetics are just props attached to their actual arm

alex is one of the sweetest people ever even with his role as a self centered mad scientist

kenneth is a metalhead and a fan of hard rock, whereas allen likes 50s-60s hits and soft rock

kenneth uses a lot of modern slang, and people are surprised at how different he is from his role as katana. he was mainly picked for his physique

dante and sue ellen act a lot like their respective characters. they are very happy with their roles

julia, aiden and corey joke about kenneth being their other dad

unlike rocket and sword's friendship, joseph and asher have slight beef with each other off set due to joe having to take multiple takes of the same clip because of his struggle to play an extrovert. he was mainly picked for his identical appearance to sword

allen lets the others try out his helmet. it's really stuffy with it on, they often have to retake a longer clip multiple times since he starts fanning himself within barely five minutes. he also struggles a lot to keep a straight face, you can hear stifled laughter in his lines, especially when he has to say something comedic as hyperlaser

actor au where al-haitham is an actor and kaveh is his costar who happens to be the love interest. they have amazing chemistry on camera, but off camera it’s a different story and everyone wonders how on earth they manage to pull off being so in love for the movie while they’re at each others throats behind the scenes. during interviews they’re also kind to each other, but the passive aggressiveness is there

OR

actor au where al-haitham is an actor and kaveh is his makeup artist. HIS makeup artist. he hates when kaveh does someone else’s makeup and kaveh hates when someone does al-haitham’s makeup other than him because he knows how to accentuate al-haitham’s god given assets

Was watching interview with Nazeeh the other day and it gave me an idea for an AU

Kaveh and Alhaitham would be auditioning for the other's role but ending up with the ones we know them for.

So now they have to work twice as much or more and keep repeating the takes and all the scenes, because Alhaitham is too energetic and too expressive while Kaveh is not expressive enough.

As all the others started to finally have enough, one of their co-actors proposes an idea:

"Why won't you just teach each other?"

And so they do.

And it goes unsaid that they grow closer the more they hang out together. How they become more tuned to each other, more understanding. So they keep doing it.

Even though all their shots already finished.

And all those small gestures of affection? Learning what coffee the other one likes drinking? Whether the slight burrow is a sign of annoyance or determination? Basking in smell of other's perfumes? Having one t-shirt too little, one shirt too many?

It's just a by product of their way of bettering their craft.
