Chenyu Vale is abolutely lovely, and it's really recaptured some deep sense of immersive peace/wonder from exploring, etc etc. I could talk a lot more about it, but for now I just want to say that the ongoing gag "As the Young Master of the Feiyun Commerce Guild..." is cracking me up. Traveler is going to completely slander Xingqiu's name among the men and adepti of Chenyu Vale both, and Xingqiu's gonna have no idea what happened. 🤣

Whilst looking for the List Grimoire's in the Faded Castle of 4.6, I found a book called "Investigation of the Northern Barbarians" and it revealed some interesting lore.

These Northern Barbarians had tribes and whilst reading more, I discovered that Excalibur exists in Teyvat along with the Lady of the Lake. The first part of the passage in the book regarding Excalibur states:

For example, before the polis of Lugdunensis was razed by Legio V, it's population exceeded [REDACTED]. As the trade hub of many northern chiefdoms, its degree of prosperity could be favourably compared to [REDACTED]. The ruler of the area did not call themselves A "Chieftain" but a "Holy King", and they believed in their authority to rule came from an ancient sword bestowed upon them by the "Mother of Many Springs".

So somewhere in Genshin, Excalibur is in Teyvat. Not only that but there was a King Arthur, a Merlin and so on.

Another thing I found out was Erinnyes is actually called "Erringeth of Aremorica" due to a spelling error by scholars. According to Marius Servis (someone who's corrected this), "Er" signifies "high" while "Ringeth" would be the feminine cass of "ruler".

Erringeth means "High Ruler of Aremorica".

Aremorica is stated to be "once an obscure and unknown tribe, but only today the centre of power in the northern boarder region" from the book.

So yeah. It was certainly an interesting find but not only that but the "Mistress of All Waters" that was also mentioned in the world quest to unlock the Faded Castle, was created by Aremorica and it's considered fiction due to how this Mistress is the one true ruler.

oh man oh man i am very glad i decided to do xianyuns story quest before lantern rite tomorrow bcs i was thinking it was odd that shuyu had the same npc model as the girl in the trailer and then i get to the end of the quest and oops! it is actually her!
